Community Development Citizens' Committee - Regular Meeting

As of I took over the organization less than a year ago. We're in the process of cleaning up all of our systems and that is one of the top priorities is ensuring we do have our staff and those that work. Nobody works one on one with any child. It's all in a group setting. And so any of those that work with children are background checks and fingerprinted. Yes.

Okay. Perfect. And if it's filed, then our city staff, when they go audit you or all of our program, programs that we fund, they're gonna ask for this. So we need all the applicants for the scrap money to comply with that and kind of just ahead of it's better if you know about it ahead of time so we can have that organized. Member Kim?

What was the name of the Fullerton School that you guys operate out of?

We're we work adjacent to schools, so the two neighborhoods that we focus on are the Maple Neighborhood and the Garnet neighborhood. The Maple neighborhood is quite large. Our community center so we have community centers in each of those neighborhoods. The the Maple the community center that we operate in that neighborhood is actually East Of Lemon. So a lot of the services that are provided at Maple Elementary really service West Of Lemon. Mhmm. But there's a huge kind of community, East Of Lemon, and that's where our community center is and where we focus.

Okay. Thank you. Mhmm. Member Blay? Yeah. You said, you have a after school program at Garnet Elementary and Maple Elementary?

Not elementary. Those are, community centers

In in neighborhood. So the Garnet neighborhood is, the very east part of Fullerton backing up into the city of Placentia. It's a four by two block community that is extremely dense because it's all multifamily units.

So the agenda forecast for our meeting and just for planning purposes, we're gonna today, our committee members got information about the city applicants who are fund who are requesting funding for city money and from public works. There's a senior mobility program, and there's the special code enforcement application. So I'm asking the committee members, and hopefully, they're watching this video to catch up, the ones that are not here today.

If you can please read each application, write your notes, and be prepared for March 10 so that we can get to meet city staff who are gonna propose their explain their programs that in their presentations. The next meeting of the CDCC will be on March 10 at 06:30 here in the Council Chambers, and we will hear CDBG request presentations by the city departments.
