This is a notice of a public meeting of the planning and zoning commission of the city of Bronzeville, pursuant to chapter 551, title 5 of the Texas Government Code of the Texas Open Meeting Act. Notice is hereby given that the planning and zoning commission of the city of Brownsville, Texas, has scheduled this regular meeting on Thursday, January 8th of this 2026 at 5:30 p.m. in the commission chambers on the second floor of Brownsville City Hall, Old Federal Building located at 101 East Elizabeth Street, Bronzville, Cameron County, Texas 78520. Pursuant to section 551.127 of Texas government code, one or more commissioners or employees may attend this meeting remotely using video conferencing technology. The video and audio feed of this uh video conferencing equipment can be viewed and cured by the public at the address posted above at the location of this meeting. We will begin the pledge of allegiance. Thank you. We can now proceed with updates and comments.
Uh good evening, commissioners. Uh thank you for being here. Uh first of all, um happy new year. We hope you had a good holiday break with your with your families. Uh we would also like to welcome our new commissioner, Mr. Bob Torres. Uh thank you for being here. Uh also as a reminder, next week we do have the board trainings which will be scheduled on the 14th and on the 15th. That's Wednesday and Thursday. There will be morning and afternoon sessions on both days. However, we do encourage that all of you try uh as a board to attend one session. So that um if you have any questions as a board uh you can ask us or the um the instructor that will be uh attending. Um so uh if if possible uh try and organize amongst yourselves to to see if you can attend one single session. uh if not like I said there there there's uh two sessions per day morning and afternoon uh lunch will be provided
try to coordinate that thank you for updates and let the record show that Mr. David beticord is present. We'll now proceed with item number two, approval of the minutes of the regular meeting of December 4th of 2025. Commissioners have had a chance to read over the minutes. Make a motion to approve the minutes. I second. We have a first and a second motion to approve minutes. All those in favor say I. I. All those opposed? Motion carries.
Thank you. We'll now proceed with the items for individual consideration. Item number one is a consideration and action to grant a subdivision waiver for Brownie track subdivision located in extra territorial jurisdiction of the city of Brownsville from the municipal planning process and solely proceeding with Cameron County jurisdiction. Item number two is a consideration and action to grant a subdivision waiver for a camo subdivision located in the extraterrestrial jurisdiction of the city of Brownsville from the municipal platting process and solely proceeding with Cameron County jurisdiction. And item number three tonight is a consideration and action to grant a subdivision waiver for Ranchito La Minita phase 2 subdivision located in the extrateral extr territorial jurisdiction of the city of Brownsboro from the municipal platting process and solely proceeding with the Cameron County jurisdiction.
So for all these requests uh these subdivisions all lie within uh the city's ETJ. Uh all the applicants are requesting to opt out of uh city review. Um all of them are residential subdivisions. Uh starting with the first one, uh Brown Browning Track subdivision consists of four residential lots. Uh it's located on east of Brown Track Road uh to the northern part of the city where towards uh Rioondo. Uh for Camilo subdivision, it's uh creating four new lots and a lot for an existing home. So in total, it's going to be five residential lots. And this property is uh on Roberto Road at the end of Roberto Road. And finally, Ranchito Lamita subdivision phase 2. This consists of three residential lots and it's uh on the north side of uh Highway 100 on S Carlos Road. So for all these items, uh staff recommends approval.
