Got it. Staff ready? Is council ready? We barely have a
Let me call to order the special town council meeting for Friday, November the 7th in the committee room. It's good to see everybody here. Our agenda has been published. Um item number two is public comment. If there's anyone here for public comment, please come forward. Name and address. Two and a half minutes. All right. Going once, going twice. Number three, adoption of a resolution declaring the election results of November the 4th. Let's get a motion first and then in discussion. All
right. We we are in discussion. Um Mr. Attorney, we know that the uh after provisional ballots fail safe were done that the numbers changed um in what is in the resolution and and we know we have a motion. I'm just trying to make sure that we get that number right. Correct.
Okay. Thank you, mayor, members of council. Uh the numbers have changed and what we will need is an amendment to reflect the correct numbers. We will change that. The document that reflects the correct results are at exhibit A, page 36. At the top right, it says official results. at the bottom. Election summary 115205 at 10:31 a.m. I see that
and page 207 and motion to amend the resolution to reflect exhibit A page 306 official results from 116 2025 at 10:31 a.m. Would you like to repeat those numbers? That is appropriate sir as I've read that into the record and as you have restated that is the correct one. All right we have a motion to amend. Do we have a second? Second. All right. And just for the record also it changes the number. It does not change the outcome. It does not change the order of finish.
That's right. So we will go back and following this vote assuming it is in the favorable then we'll change this. We'll reexecute and so will be complete. Okay. And for the record, we have every confidence those numbers came from the certifying body, which is the Charleston County Board of Voter Registration.
Yes, sir. For clarity, the town of Mount Pleasant has no ordinances um has no ability uh to create, change uh or alter those numbers in any way. Those come from the election commission and they are official. Okay. Are there any questions on that among Sorry, let's get it short. Are there any questions among the voting members of council on that issue? Mayor,
I have no question except to say the numbers on exhibit A36 are what came out with the recount. There came out. Yes. Would you like us to read the number just in case? Yes, sir. I mean, unless you wish to be,
okay, let's vote on the amendment. All in favor, please say I. I. Any oppose? All right. Amendment carries. So, um, now is there any discussion on the primary motion, which is to adopt this resolution that reflects the updated numbers from the Charleston County Board of Voter Registration and Election. All right. All in favor, please say I. Any opposed? Motion carries. We congratulations to the winners. We all look forward to uh to serving together for the good of our citizens. If there's nothing further to be said or done, this meeting is ajourned.
