City Commission - Special Meeting

I'll now call to order the February 25th, 2026 City of Abalene, Kansas City Commission special meeting. Uh Shay, may we please have a roll call? Mayor Rin, here. Commissioner Taylor here. Commissioner Khoff, present. Commissioner Lidle, yes. Commissioner Meisenberg is going to be late. Roll call complete. Okay. Thank you. Please stand for the pledge.

I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. Okay. Okay. And up next is approval of today's agenda. I make a motion to approve the agenda for February 25th city commission special meeting. Second. [clears throat] Motion has been moved and seconded. Do we have any commission discussion? Seeing none, we'll move a roll call vote. Commissioner or Vice Mayor Taylor? Yes. Commissioner Koloff. Hi. Commissioner Lidle,

yes. Myself, yes. Motion carries. I already did the math, so I'll read the next motion. Um, next up is an executive session. And I would move the city commission recess into executive session for we're just going to go 2 hours and 29 minutes because I can't do the math on those minutes right now. Uh, to interview and discuss individual applicants for the city manager position pursuant to KSA75-4319B1 based upon the need to discuss personnel matters of non-elected personnel. The open meeting will resume in this room at 6:30 p.m. I second.

Um I do I do have a question, I guess. or um had did anyone talk with city attorney Martin about having essentially members of the public in our executive session for this purpose?
