Next, from my office, air duct cleaning, town and town hall. Town Hall caretaker Jim Lundfelser has advised that it has been approximately 15 years since the air ducts have been cleaned in Town Hall. We received multiple quotes ranging from $18,045 to $29,845.12. He recommends the lowest bidder at $18,045 for the attached quote submitted by First Air Incorporated. And thirdly, I just make a motion that the board support the letter from the Historic Preservation Advisory Board just requesting that our zoning committee put some kind of notification language in the zoning so that they would get an opportunity to know if there was going to be a demolition for a historic building, something that may relate to a historic building by change, taken down. Because we did have that building at the corner of Erickbury and East River. It just kind of happened, which, you know, happened within the law, but they released a piece of it. So they wrote this letter asking the zoning commission. So I just think the board endorses this money.

um so i'll second that and just say why don't why don't we uh why don't we say we'd like to refer this matter to the zoning reform committee for the motion we refer the historic preservation letter to zoning reform yeah for further review i'll second that thank you any more discussion

We're not working on residential yet, but when we do, those hamlets have been designated in the comprehensive plan. So that'll have some special designation and requirements in this certainly be part of that.

If any of those people on that board think like I do, and I know they do, they start thinking about this stuff long before it happens. So let them start putting it in their head and bouncing it around and thinking about how this goes.

Town Board attached you'll find the proposal from PNR Energy Solutions for the purchase and installation of EV charging station installation at Town Hall for $65,443.20. um contractor and equipment were selected from new york state's office of general services electric vehicle supply equipment and network services award number two three two five one tpr energy solutions proposal includes the purchase of two blank series eight chargers two ports per charger along with all the necessary design and installation and five years of network support The town has a New York State DEC grant for 75% of the cost up to $50,148. The town is responsible for the remaining balance of $15,295.20 that will be paid from shared services equipment. We hereby request authorization to approve the PPR Energy Solutions proposal for the purchase and installation of Blink EV chargers at the town hall for $65,443.20. Personally, I would like to amend that, that where the $15,295.20 does not come from shared services, but it comes from the tech fund.

I'm glad to see at the parade on Saturday that Councilwoman Deal was passing out a postcard talking about the New York Forward.

Okay, there's more detail on it under number five, walkability and conductability. Ideas may include improving bike lanes and trails, safer production and crossings. As you know, my granddaughter, Leah Mayer, was killed when she was walking across the street near Broadway and South Park Expressway on September 11, 2024. I realize it's a state road, but if the town gets the money, maybe we can get a highway design study done by the state. This is our town, okay? It can happen again. So I'm glad that something's hopefully going to be done. I see a local planning committee has been formed. If you somehow get the word to the planning committee, last meeting I gave you something from Common Streets, and I gave you the report, the Sheriff's Department report of where my granddaughter was killed, which listed a design of the road being a contributory factor. So I think we have valid reasons to pursue a highway design study. I got a small comment, though. What is that thing?

I was going to speak on that at the end of the meeting. It's a QR code, and I'll explain that at the end, if that's okay.

Hi, it's Alice Gerard. I just have a little comment and kind of a question. So as you know, I walk everywhere and I have noticed in the past few weeks that the water fountain at the Glopper Memorial is not producing any water. And I don't know who's responsible for the water at the water fountain, but happy. It would be nice to have some happy hydration there. Thank you.

Echo. School is out. Officer in charge France to put a police report in inbox up to date. There was an e-bike collision. Nobody was hurt, thank God. But everyone needs to be safe, pay attention, and make sure these e-bikes are operating in a safe way.

I wanted to speak a bit about the New York Forward piece. So it's a grant that there is a committee we've been working very diligently. It is a grant that is designed for downtowns. It started as for bigger areas with downtowns, and now this is a smaller portion of that program. it's to create a town center so we have to designate an area that will include businesses not-for-profits town projects within that small area and each time we went for the grant again it start to expand on that so it's not for all rugs just to clarify it's not for everything on grand island What we have done when we started is held a meeting with a kickoff meeting with all of the businesses were invited from right now. We're doing all of Grand Island Boulevard from web all the way down to leap the down with some small shoot offs. They recommend it be a smaller compact area, but we threw the net out to see what businesses would be interested without their input. We don't have an application for the grants. And with the group that was formed this year of all our not-for-profits and service civil organizations, I apologize. My cold medicine has worn off, so I'm just trying to get through this. I hurt my throat from a great weekend. But those groups also were very interested. We did a kickoff with them. We've had subsequent meetings with different organizations wanting to expand their facility. And there's even been discussion of trying to do a project to give all of those organizations that don't have a home, a home they could share. So that would be wonderful to see too. What you see on that piece is called a QR code. This is what we were handing out at the parade. At the door, there's also this information is on our website as well. But the QR code, if you use your phone, it leads to a survey. It's a very short survey, but it's questions about what you would like to see in your community. And we've gotten some great response, but the more we can get, the better, because it helps us kind of direct our application and bring to our community the amenities that everyone wants to see. So if you would take this survey, tell your friends about it. It is online. I left some of these out at the desk if you would share those. So that's the New York Forward Program. We do have some individuals coming in. We had to reschedule. They were going to be here last month. They're going to be here this month to do a walkthrough with us, which will be a great advantage because we can get a feel for what they're looking for in an application. It's rare that you are awarded your first go-around, but we are very aggressive and optimistic that we could be the first. So that's what's going on. why don't we talk after because i don't think this is yeah i don't think it's i don't want to break that rule so i'll talk with you after that is that's all wow okay this is a great committee there's been a lot of work done on this grant pushing hard for it's 4.5 million dollars all the way and private businesses can participate in it they can get up to um 75% of their project paid for under this grant with only 25% match. So that's fantastic. We do have a lot of interest in it. It is not doled out by the town. It is a state level grant and they decide who's awarded. They also will bring their team in to assist the not-for-profits and the private businesses with what they need to move forward on their project so not only is it 4.5 million dollars there's a lot of support to get across the finish line it's going to be fantastic thank you anything else else i want to go everybody's comments about the uh the parade i was talking to somebody

Thank you, Councilman Dugatti. So I'm going to echo everybody else's thoughts here on the 4th of July. I'm afraid it was a great success. Recreation, parks, highway, Grand Isle PD, and all the other outside agencies that were involved in that. I was involved a little bit on the free parade meeting, and there was probably at least 50 law enforcement people involved in the parade, and it went without a hitch. We even, I think, the town board all got a little bit of an accolade from an out-of-town family that was in town. They really enjoyed themselves and really had a lot of good things to say. So good for all of them. They did a great job. They collaborated together very well.
