They don't want to hear All right, we're going to go ahead and get started with our work session this Appreciate all of you being here.

0:570

This evening under No one signed up. No, sir.

1:01 – 3:000

Okay. So, we'll move ahead u under old business this evening. There will not be any all new business. Public hearing-020 restaurant retail liquor license on premises only for Mexican restaurant El Boss located 7495 US highway 231 with Alabama. A public hearing on that and then u take action on issuing a liquor license for that after that public hearing. Item three, ordinance 2026-2, an ordinance extending the moratorum on package stores, convenience stores, gas stations, vape shops, mini warehouses, and self storage facilities. Be back on the agenda next time. Item four, resolution 5-18-1, an agreement to participate in the Alabama interlocal mutual aid agreement. Uh Ashley Greg, what tell us what that's about. So, we were approached, excuse me, a couple months ago by the emergency management agency for the county and basically they had uncovered statewide some issues that they thought had uh were already in place that had to do with liabilities and reimbursements and covering coverage and uh that they found out that they were assuming incorrectly. And so they presented us with the new agreement that would cover those things in the way that we had assumed or been operating thinking that they were. So I would say this is more just a procedural thing to get us where we thought we were operating for all this all this time.

2:59 – 3:190

Go ahead. Basically in layman's terms, if you go help another department, you're compensated. Is that's what it's saying? No. No sir. Um it in that case most time it has to be like a declared disaster. Okay. Now that was in here too.

3:16 – 4:250

This had more to do with liability type things assuming that that if somebody comes here to help us then than making sure that uh they would be covered um working in our jurisdiction. It's all got to do with jurisdictional stuff. Um and this you were in there too. This this include law enforcement, all kind of things. Um even some of the things where uh uh you know they call and ask for officers to come in and help you know direct traffic or or those type things. They they found that there were some gaps in that that um on on the smaller level that that just wasn't thorough enough. So they clean cleaned up like Thank you. All right. Then item five is to approve mutual aid agreement with Montgomery Fire Rescue. And then item six, permission to hire one full-time fire personnel. I think that's been worked out. Kathy and Tay been through all of that.

4:27 – 4:450

Can we go back to number five? So when they So it's what the way I was reading it, it's like if Montgomery called and asked for you all to come and help, then it's up to your discretion as to whether or not you want to go.

4:43 – 5:460

Um it would always be up to our discretion and and and less than want to is more based on if we already have resources doing something else. Uh but this is just the the groundwork that sets forth that we would be willing to respond if they needed us and vice vers in reality. It's it's to make sure that it works both of those situations. One, if we send somebody, we want to make sure that their that our insurance follows them, that whatever coverage we provide follows that, but also that wherever they're going, that destination, their policy would also so basically to make sure we're covered in both both situations.

5:44 – 6:230

Just clarify, they do not have insurance. Okay. And I believe we go to item seven. Approve amended memorandum of understanding with the board of education for the use of sports facilities. That's all in your packets. to have all of that in the package. Yes, sir.

6:21 – 7:130
