Board of Ethics - Regular Meeting

so if it would please the board since this is our first meeting of the board of Ethics uh for this first meeting I can kind of sit in the driver's seat um get us through uh the election of our executive committee our chair and vice chair and secretary and then for future meetings going forward the meeting will be run by the chair and then uh I'll be here as the lay is on but for today if you want me to go through the agenda lead us through I can do that for us today okay so our first uh we will call the meeting to order at 6:00 on Wednesday January 15th 2025 our first order of business will be the Pledge of Allegiance if everyone could please rise IED aliance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands one nation under God indivisible with liberty and justice for all our next order of business will be the roll call I will take roll now commissioner bangle here commissioner Carri and harworth commissioner Davidson commissioner de Georgio here commissioner hagadone here commissioner Randazzo pres commissioner shanic here all right so on our next order of business we have a quorum of five our next order of business will be uh we do not have previous minutes to approve so we will go to number five unfinished business as this is the first time we've met as a board uh we do not have any unfinished business so we will move to item number six which is the election of our executive committee uh what I would recommend uh as this is the first time our commissioners have met each other um if you are interested in serving as chair or vice chair secretary um you can

raise your hand and just let you know that you'd uh be interested in it uh then we will need a nomination from the board of the individual uh a nomination in a second and then we will take a vote on it um so is there anyone who uh wishes to be chair why is everyone looking at me okay so if you just want to give a little introduction to the board um okay my name is Mark Randazzo um and uh I've been a Garden City resident for about 30 years you need more no that's just so um is there anyone else who'd be interested in being the chair all right if there's no one else who would be interested in being the chair um a motion is in order uh to nominate uh commissioner Randazzo as chair I nominate rzo chair I second it okay all right all in favor I on opposed okay the motion passes 5 commissioner Randazzo is chair we will now need a volunteer uh who wishes to serve as Vice chair responsibilities being I say responsibili being so to serve as the chair as chair in the absence of the chair I'll do it okay you like to give a little introduction about yourself my name is sui Georgio I've been a resident of Garden City since 1997 and I I am a retired 911 dispatcher okay anyone else who would like to consider nomination for vice chair yes me all right yep so would you like to give an introduction oh yeah my name is uh oh what what what what did you ask I'm sorry just an introduction about yourself the bo oh that's fine hi I'm uh

Michael bangle I've been a resident since uh 1998 of Garden City okay so any other candidates who' be interested in being Vice chair okay so we have two candidates um so I will entertain a motion now um from the board uh for the position of Vice chairperson like to nominate Sue okay I second it all right all in favor I any opposed right Sue commissioner de Georgio is vice chair 5 and now we will need the election of a secretary so the secretary will be the one um who prepares the minutes and The Keeper of the minutes for the board of Ethics I will entertain anyone who interested in being the secretary I really don't never done it keep the minutes I'll go ahead okay would you like to give any ction yeah James panck I've been Garden City almost 40 years only gone a few years of my life um kids are gone to this school all that volunteered for the gar City soccer program for a while GC and things like that so okay anyone else okay then we can entertain a motion

for the election of secretary oh motion for Jim I'll second the a motion okay all in favor I I any opposed all right motion passes 5 all right so we have elected our executive board so we have commissioner Randazzo as chair commissioner deorio as Vice chair and commissioner shanic as secretary we'll move to number seven on our agenda which is public comment the public has up to three minutes to give a statement it is not a time to answer questions back and forth between the board and the audience um if there anyone who wishes to make a statement please step up to the podium state your name ask one more time if there's any public comment all right seeing none we will move to comment from City Administration um there's no comment from City Administration tonight other than um the members of the executive committee um please see me after the meeting okay uh any board member comments all right then can I have a motion to adj I make the motion to adjourn second second all right all in favor by all any opposed all right motion meeting is adjourned at 607
