So, see, I've got Bruno. I'm not Bruno for um BOS, Brandon for Lake Port, Miss Jen for Lake Port, for um county. Um I got Joyce for Clear Lake. She's still I don't think she's not on.

0:24 – 1:04Speaker 1

Yeah, she didn't get reelected, so I don't know who the new one is. And then Kylie for uh city of Lakeport and myself for um county. And so I know was vice was we had to vote on it. Vice chair, right? Oh, I guess we should call the meeting to order. Yeah, I'll shut the door. Oh, go ahead. Come on. Yeah. Okay. So, uh we'll call meeting to the order. Um and we will first do the introduction. Um, so hello everyone. It's Pawan. I'm the Lake County Water Director.

1:04 – 1:31Speaker 1

I'm Bethany Childers, the building official for Lake. Brandon Disney, Lakeport City Council. Uh, Fred Miller, Lake County water body resources. Ted Baker, City Lake. Uh, Linda Roses Bill. Um, county of Lake Oh, Kylie Peacock. Uh, city of Clear Lakes storm water coordinator.

1:34 – 2:03Speaker 1

Oh, we have one. And then we have Raymond. Yes, Raymond Larson for Habenol. Okay. And then we have Lucy um from our the staff. Cool. So we do have quum.

2:00 – 2:43Speaker 1

Yeah. Okay. So um I think the first item we have here is the action item would be to approve new new chair and vice chair and I think we did had some discussion about it in our last meeting but we didn't had quum on that. So okay so I know that Juan was elected or proposed proposed vice chair. I don't remember who we stated chair. Do we have the minutes from last time? Uh they're on I think it was because there was no corum so I don't know. Yeah. I don't even recall what we discussed in the for this item.

2:41 – 2:56Speaker 1

Don't recall this far. I thought chair was was do you pull on it? Was I proposed to chair? I thought so. Okay. I'm okay with that. I'm putting you on the spot

2:59 – 3:30Speaker 1

to be here every meeting. Okay. So, chair and vice chair. So, are we going to nominate and so we'd have to make a motion. I'll move to nominate one as chair. And for vice chair,

3:33 – 4:18Speaker 1

may I ask just because I uh I've only been to a few of these thus far. What What are the responsibilities of like if I can go that far down the rabbit hole, what are the responsibilities? Oh, we have I brought the bylaws wonder and I brought um I think you'd be great. I think No, no, no, no, no. I accepted that. Yeah, I I just am trying to understand if it's basically it might be like the chair conducts the meetings like um the follows up the agenda here and in case the chair is not present then the vice chair seeks the in charge for the meeting. Okay.

4:16 – 4:58Speaker 1

Yes, I think that might be the primary responsibility and then um there might be other things as well. Okay. But if it's just leading the meeting, I just I I've got a lot of plates in the air. So that's why I'm asking cuz I'll But I need to know what I'm volunteering when you're not here. Yeah, that's pretty. So I don't have to do the agenda or minutes or anything. I just leave the meeting. No, thanks Linda. Over the humanize. I can't fight. Thanks. Yeah.

4:56 – 5:31Speaker 1

Well, I'll move to nominate Jen Baker as vice chair. I will second you have to get Yeah. Okay. Oh, we got a hand up. Oh, you're muted. You're muted. Yeah, I think the volume's really low, too. It is, but I saw that. Oh, now she's not muted. I still can't hear her. The little microphone.

5:35 – 5:47Speaker 1

Is there an internal Mary? Can you hear us on our end? Okay, we can't hear you on your end. if you want to type maybe into the chat.

6:05 – 6:29Speaker 1

Okay. Oh, just a green. Okay. Thanks. So, we'll take um Would you say a role on that? Yeah. Okay. So, we don't have a supervisor, right? See, is Helen on? I thought Helen said she's going to try. Okay. Uh, Brandon. Hi.

6:32 – 7:07Speaker 1

Juan. Yeah. Uh, Kylie here. Um, me. I'm here. And Um, so it's not Joyce. Is that Is it going to be rest for Clear Lake? I believe so. He He I I tried to get him to come on, but I didn't get a response from him this week. So, but yeah, he was at the last one. Okay. I'm going to put him down as a a Clear Lake ref. Is that cool?

7:04 – 7:48Speaker 1

Yeah. You try. Oh, yeah. I think Barry said uh she is the alternate for us. Okay, cool. I was going to ask that an alternate. Okay. So, moving to our next item is the approval for the meeting minutes for November 2024 meeting. I didn't print those out available here. So,

7:46Speaker 1

should we table it until the next slide? Yeah, until we have them cuz that was that was my bad.

7:56 – 9:02Speaker 1

Okay. So the next item is the new business um clean water program 2026 meeting dates proposed dates below. So if you look at the item 9 I think that's for the proposed date for 2026. Um February 19, 2026 2 p.m. at Lake County Courthouse. May 21st, 2026, 2 p.m. City of Clear Lake Council Chambers. Um, August 20, 2026, 2 p.m. City of Lake Port Council Chambers. November 19, 2026, uh, 2 p.m. um, Port House, Claudia Lake. Um, so yeah, it follow similar trend what we have for this year. So people can look at their calendar if they want their time and then maybe we can vote on that.

9:00 – 9:42Speaker 1

Do we want to vote on it in this meeting or do we want to vote on it next meeting? Um either way is fine because there is enough time uh because we will have another meeting in November. So if anybody has a suggestion later on, they can suggest it meanwhile and then we can vote on the next uh next meeting. Okay. So the next item on the new business is the poster poster cleanup which is coming in September 20th. Yeah. Linda, you want to update?

9:38 – 10:11Speaker 1

Sure. So we have uh eight sites. I'm trying to find captains for healthy vault site and I am trying to find a captain for the Middletown site. We added Middletown this year. Um hopefully we get some participants out there. Um the other thing is the I have flyers over there and if you have little ones there's a little color thing there too. And uh so um they are doing trasher hunt is the theme for this year.

10:09 – 10:53Speaker 1

I like that. And so this year they've given us uh I ordered three of them because our our area is so big. So City of Clear Lake will get a little treasure hunt. Uh it's basically like a little treasure chest and you can decorate it. I'm going to drop one off. Um I was supposed to drop all this week, but I got busy. Um but I'll drop one off to Miss Jen. Um I'll get one to Kylie. Decorate them any way you want. There's a little um paper in there that says congratulations, you won, you know, I don't know what they are yet. I tried to get the prizes, but because of our grants and um whatnot, uh we can't use uh what is it? The gift of public funds is basically what it came out.

10:52 – 11:25Speaker 1

Because of the county purchasing policies, like we're allowed only allow up to certain right uh amount. Yeah. And so I was looking at purchasing an ebike and because in the city of Lakeport they have a lot more younger people that participate and I thought that would have been a sick type thing. And then for like the other ones it was like a ice chest that folded out with the table and chairs. It's all connected and I thought it was super cool but they wouldn't let me buy it. So

11:21 – 12:18Speaker 1

So right now I'm looking for um other things that we could uh give away. And so just kind of I don't know it will be not as cool. And so there's that. And then thank you to Miss Bethany to talking talking with um supervisor Rasmmanson. After the coastal cleanup day, we will have a barbecue for our volunteers over at Highland Springs from 2 to 4. And so and so um yeah, we'll do the shopping for that. Um, and that was just a little kind of idea that we had to kind of show appreciation to people who are giving up their Saturdays and helping keep our waterways clean and clear. Um, do we need any do we need to plan anything for logistics of that or like invitation or some sort of social media or flyer or something when the

12:16 – 12:45Speaker 1

they come to help clean? We can Okay, we need to work on like the barbecue flyer. Yeah. Uh, I was going to put it out to on our Facebook page, but then my my question was people might come to the barbecue and Oh, that's true. Yeah. Yes. Maybe just when they get their grabbers, we would give them a flyer. Okay.

12:42 – 13:22Speaker 1

People probably want to give them enough time to plan for it and be like, "Okay, make time for it." And so I don't know if we want to give out I don't know do we have those little ticket things the little rapid ticket thingies we can just you know and it's just nothing other than hey I participated type thing maybe the um captains could give amount or something to that but I we didn't think that because last year I think we had somewhere like 40 50 volunteers through the whole county. Um I was like we'll be all right. It's like $200. Perfect, you know. Yeah.

13:19Speaker 1

And so uh but yes, barbecue flyer and we'll give out u or something. Yeah. Okay. That would be nice.

13:33 – 14:18Speaker 1

That's all I have for um postal cleanup day for right now. You guys have any questions? Um, far as dumpsters go, Jen, we usually handle that on our own, right? I just connect with land. You do the guy drops it off and then you and I get the plans for the other sites. I get the permits for the parks and um send the maps out to uh waste management solutions. They usually just donate them. So, right. Okay. And I just usually just have one bin. We get a big roll out like a six or an 8 foot roll out and put it over on Fifth Street. They did do that the year before.

14:16 – 14:40Speaker 1

Last year we went orient behind the building and it was it was actually really convenient. It was close to the table. I could kind of eyeball it and see what was going on. Okay. Okay. Miss Mary, I just seen the last your last uh thing. I'll put that down.

14:59 – 15:44Speaker 1

Okay. So, should we move to the next item? Sure. Uh, so the next item for the new business is EO. We have a hand up in the online. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Can you hear me? Yes. Okay. Yeah. I just wanted to mention we're going to have a tent up too in front of our office and giving out trash bags and grabbers to everybody on that same day, too. We're in the Upper Lake area. Upper. Upper Lake. Okay. And that's for coastal cleanup. Yeah. That's 20th, right? Where are you going to have it at? We're going to have the tent set up in a display and some fly. We'll be passing out flyers and have them displays too. Right in front of our office, the EPA office, probably right on Main Street. Yeah, you make sense. EPA office.

15:42Speaker 1

Uh HPL's uh EPA office. They're one of our sites. Yeah. Okay. I just wanted to mention that. Right on. Thanks, Ray.

15:58 – 16:41Speaker 1

Yeah, they did it every year. Okay. So, um yeah, moving on to the next item is uh on the new business is EOA Stone Creek updates. Is it your game? I hope so. Okay. So yeah, we've been working so the cities in the county have been working with the EOA to do our outfalls maps and um helping us get back on track with our worked groups and whatnot. So Miss Bethany kicked us off with um Pecon Con work group. That was back in July.

16:40 – 17:22Speaker 1

Yeah. So long ago, I think, wasn't it? It feels like Yeah, it was in July. Yeah. And that was awesome. EOA did a great job with the training and it was on our general construction permit um for larger projects and so and went into the BMPs and all of the storm water regulations for construction which right and so they're helping us get our our MS4 back on um target here. I know with Angela's departure we kind of just went okay what? And so yeah um the county and the city's been working together to keep it together and so um

17:20 – 18:00Speaker 1

so are they developing like a guideline kind of thing like which we need to follow or what we should be doing management plan. Yeah. And then they have an update to the uh order right there's an update pending that new regulation. Yeah. They keep kind of dangling over our head and not releasing formally. and I need to come out whatever direction we need to go. Yeah. And I don't think it's coming out right. They had said that uh we'd have to get something in place and that phase 2 grant wouldn't be something that they could include in what we're doing if I'm correct. I think so.

17:58 – 18:46Speaker 1

Yeah. She spoke to uh they have a good idea of how it's going to run right now and that's what she's documenting to but it could switch. But either her con something happens. Yes. In the middle of this where she's handing us a document that she hopes will work for that phase two and cover the phase two. And so um they have been awesome and I'm hoping that they will do an update for us at one of our clean water meetings in 2026. The last we met with EOA, Jen, and remind me if I'm mistaken, but they wanted an update on our grant funds specific for EOA to see if they can complete the management plan based on how much we have left that funding source.

18:44 – 19:15Speaker 1

Yes. I can't remember the gentleman's name, but he had some concerns over Yes. He had some concerns over the term of the funding allocations and their work overlapping the term. Yes. Okay. I can um touch base with Miss Jackie to get those numbers. That sounds good. It kind of sounded like they wanted those numbers soon just to know if they can complete the management plan based on how much funding we have,

19:12 – 19:55Speaker 1

right? But other than that, I think we've been moving good in that direction. Um, you guys are lucky you guys have all your stuff mapped. We are lucky. You guys are awesome. I'm working with Miss Robin um from social districts. Yeah. Yeah. because they cover a lot of space and a lot of ground and all the cover 2.5 square miles. You not so much.

19:53 – 20:35Speaker 1

We're going like some are on septic, some are not on septic and you know all that's going to make a difference in our guidance plan. And so yeah, it's been an adventure. And so that's what we have for DOA. Okay. Um moving on to the next item. Do we have anybody? No. Right. Okay. Um moving on to the next item. Uh number five, the old business. Um the first one we have is the update to the acronym seed uh which has been posted to the website. So, do we have any updates on that or

20:32 – 21:06Speaker 1

acronym sheets on the back table and um I believe they were last updated in last meeting just before Yeah. February. Okay. And so, and they have been posted to our website. Okay. That's still the same since if you guys look at it and you see anything that needs to be updated, shoot it over. We'll update it and then we'll get it back out. Okay.

21:07 – 21:44Speaker 1

Okay. So, moving on to the next one. We have 319 resource management plan SW plan and MC engineering. So this was the thing that um Julia forget the last name from um MC Engineering was working on. Those are projects that um we had asked the community and we gave out the website of like potential projects um for this uh what is it the resource plan? The storm and water management.

21:40 – 22:25Speaker 1

Yeah, storm water resource plan. And um so I have the hat and I just forgot to bring it um of all it's a database basically a spreadsheet of everybody's input and I can send that out to y'all. Um and so they're pretty much done. That grant is now closed out. Um, and I was looking cuz when I was reading or watching the last video um, from November, I want to say there was supposed to be a resource plan created by um, MC Engineering. Yeah, there is one. I was watching board of supervisors one day and they were talking about it. Somebody did a public comment and they kind of had a bit of issue about the survey itself.

22:24 – 23:02Speaker 1

Okay. And so then I got curious. I was like, "Oh, let's" because I remember sending um the consultant our Forbes Creek whole plan with all of those projects. And so I did locate it. I'll have to get back to you how I found that. It was some internet smoothing, but I didn't receive it directly from the consultant, but they they listed all of our projects at SH, which is money. Yeah. And that had availability to go after those funds. So it's, you know, another step in a different direction.

22:59 – 23:42Speaker 1

So I will um get that from Miss Jen and then send that out as well. So the database and do we know like if it is like another requirement for the storm water like why did we did this project 398? If I remember correctly, we did the because we have to have that plan in place to qualify for a particular grant fund. I don't remember what proposition number. I apologize. Yeah. Okay. No, that that's useful because that gives like why this was done in the first place.

23:40 – 24:22Speaker 1

Okay. Um Yeah. The next item we have in the old business is um adopt a drain again. So the adopted drain is off and kicking. I did have Miss Jen who had a concern and I will um run that and get that uh the liability waiver to you. Make sure that you as the cities are stated on it and if not we'll go through the popular uh channels to make those edits and include the cities. Um thank you with that. That way be better you all can have your uh legal team look at it and make sure that it's kosher with them.

24:18 – 25:03Speaker 1

Okay, that would be agreed. Um, so it is often popping. I know that I said in the last like November meeting that I was going to give you guys cards and I failed. So, I'll give them to Miss Jen to do that. Um, and so it's still going. I didn't check the stats uh before I came, but last I checked we had something like 40 uh drains adopted. And so, um, with our drains that we adopted around the courthouse, um, we have been keeping up with that and I love the fact that they've given me those updates and they're like, it's an email that I get and a text message said, "Time to check your drain."

25:02 – 25:47Speaker 1

And so, um, super helpful. If anybody wants to adopt their drain or adopt a drain, we have an SOP for it. um just contact me and I will get that out to you. But it's pretty self-explanatory, very easy to use. So, okay. So, moving along, we have item number six, which is clean water updates. Um, monitoring update. MS4 updates. MS4. We just did that.

25:43 – 26:24Speaker 1

Oh, yeah. Part of our MS4 um document and plan. So, that's what EOA does for us in Stone Creek. Okay. And our report is due October annual. Is that this month's? Yeah. Okay. The 100 question with attachments this year. So far they're the same until the new permit comes out. But and that's something the 100 questions that we ask all our departments, right? Um kind of there's a big section to hook in with your

26:21 – 27:03Speaker 1

and there's the construction side. Okay. So that way we get more than a zero cuz I believe on our construction we got a zero and I'm going like I don't think that was correct but uh I don't think people were willing to share information. Yeah. And so um if you guys point me to it. I think reaching out to Jack would be best cuz I mean it'll be the construction for the entire county minus the city. So there's a lot there. Yeah. Um so I think yeah Jack's going to get a good voice source. Where do I get the 100 questions? I can send you the template. Okay, cool. Yes. Yeah, he seems to be on board. So,

27:01 – 27:44Speaker 1

it's broken down by like our subgroup. So, there's seven sections and then questions for each and there's a lot that goes into it, but it's it's so far been the same for the last three years. It's been easier just updating the stats and Jen section's a big one. Yeah. for all the public works. Make besties with your public works director. And it also includes like all of our elicit discharges that we've had um those reports, our minutes and our uh agendas and all the stuff all the pop like stuff that we put out there that social media posts.

27:45Speaker 1

I'll send you the the template though.

27:48 – 29:00Speaker 1

We'll be fine. It's just hard, you know, right? We're in the middle of kind of grant season right now and we're doing u uh some sediment removal projects within the levy system, you know, uh making sure that we don't need our 404 because water quality um and whatnot. So, just a little overwhelm. Okay. So I think we will move to our next item which is the work group meeting schedule and updates. Um so the first is the con peon kind of touched upon already. So we met in July. Um and it was more so of a planning meeting than a meeting open to the public just to kind of get the work group going again because it had been like a couple years since we had a meeting. And so EOA was really helpful just with the training component. And then we talked about our public outreach. I have the minutes and I haven't sent them out. I know I sent them to Jen, but I'll send you the minutes from the that meeting.

28:57 – 29:38Speaker 1

Is was it the same one which we sent out like a Facebook post or something afterwards? No, that's a separate one. We did a couple after that cuz we talked about uh there was a couple topics. It was like car washing. Yeah. Wasn't that for that was public? I think we like meeting literally do on the same day. Let's just keep going. Um so that's all that's the only update I have right now. I don't have a next uh date for that subcommittee but or on it.

29:35Speaker 1

Okay, sounds good. Um the next one we have is MUN um housekeeping.

29:42 – 30:41Speaker 1

That's my work group. Um, we did not meet this last quarter. Um, so I need to get out a uh a list of possible dates for the next quarter to meet. Um, I would like to definitely get that one going again. Um, sounds like maybe a good op good idea would be for us just to get together to do to look at our annual reporting stuff and maybe we can help Linda out and and show her the ropes of how we've done it in the past. But I feel like that kind of falls under municipal housekeeping. Um, but just an idea. So, I'll follow up with you girls later on that maybe next month we could do that. But if that doesn't work out for everybody, I'll probably just try to find a different topic to do in October or November. I think that's a great idea, Kylie. And I now that I'm looking at the date that uh for today, I'm getting worried because October 15th is going to come really soon. Yeah, maybe if we do it at the beginning of next month, that would

30:40 – 31:17Speaker 1

Yeah, that would give us enough time. I appreciate that. I'll send out a um like a I'll look at my dates and send you girls um a few options for days and times and we can get that uh booked up. Yay. Sounds good to me. Yep. Okay. So the next item on the um work group is about the outreach and public participation. I think it was a joint effort everybody. Um

31:15 – 31:51Speaker 1

yeah, we kind of do. We've been working to try to make everything kind of keep flowing and so it really has been a group effort between the county and the cities and um really it's the cities guiding me through this cuz they help. So that I I literally um just started kind of paying attention after Angela left. So and that's just in all honesty. So um we did put out some Facebook posts. Um car wash uh No, was it raining in the drain? We did the video one.

31:49 – 32:32Speaker 1

Mhm. Yeah, we've done several. We we decided instead of the kind of peacemail method we were using where we would meet and talk about it and then all collectively go back to our corners that we're all this is one program we're working in its capacity. So we've started meeting discussing what's a good topic and then somebody will take the lead and tag the other people and then they'll share it out and then to kind of distribute saves time. Yeah. And we we posted our logo too which is really cool. So like in the future we'll just use the logo and it has all of our our agencies on it. So it's pretty awesome. And we've got a tentative new um

32:28 – 33:02Speaker 1

gray matter agenda for this one that we'll be talk about. There's the logo. Awesome. Yeah. Even for the um coastal cleanup, I used our logo on the little congratulations, you know, cuz this is all of us and not just the county doing it. So, yeah, there's that. Yep. So, the last item we have here is a TR and IDE.

33:00 – 34:13Speaker 1

So, just like um everybody else, I want to get my trash work group going again. And I, you know, I was actually thinking when we do the uh PIP meetings that we can just do mine following that. Um I would like to do something for the IDE doing a how to report a spill type thing and get that out. Um and for people to understand that just because they report a spill doesn't mean they're going to get in trouble. You know, you know, this is why most things go unreported. It's because they have this thing that I'm going to get in trouble. properties. And so, um, maybe get some documentation out and see if we can get some information out to our communities, um, on being more vigilant and not that they don't help, but they do. Um, and then training them a little bit more cuz I don't know how many calls I got for, uh, oil spills and it was, um, blue green algae. And so, just wanting to do that a little bit more. Um, and so maybe aligning with the the PIP meeting that way. we aren't scrambling. I know everybody has u time limitations. So, if we can get more done in that time

34:10 – 34:41Speaker 1

and and hit all our boxes, checking them um I thought that would be cool. And Jen like put together a draft uh training, right, with um environmental health for different spills. That was like really what I wanted to do was do a spill playbook. So, like a quick This thing happened. I like succession planning and things like that. Um, so it's on the table still, but I know you put a lot of work into that.

34:38 – 35:22Speaker 1

They don't have a lot of time. They're down a thousand inspector, you know, like trying to wrangle everybody in the same room at the same time, but lots of support. Um, south of Lake County Fire Protection and Clear Lake. Um, that is the leading hazmat response team and she is real supportive of it. I talked with him about it. I was like, "Am I doing too much?" He's like, "No, it's great." So, it would just be like a a little book you'd stick in your car, have everybody's compact, phone number everywhere. It gives the locations of where all the still trailers are. You know, I'll let the names say when you don't have any time to figure it out, it's already figured out.

35:19 – 36:04Speaker 1

That's awesome. How about um our spill kits from our Doc Walker program? Yes. So, we all did our trainings for that which are really cool. Have you seen one yet? No. I should go grab it. It's really cool. It is super cool. Yeah. So, I've got boxes of them. I think it would be good for being I did say to her, "We never get to go out, right? How is this going to work for me?" No. So, what we did with ours is we took ours to a town hall meeting, which was very cool because it kind of people like when you give stuff away. Yeah. You know, and it makes them a little happier. Yeah. And so we did that's where we got rid of like half of mine. Chris and I both did the the

36:02 – 36:16Speaker 1

the truly festival, right? We did some at the Truly Festival. We had them up at our office. So we posted it and we let three um employees know too that hey, we have these

36:20 – 37:05Speaker 1

called Victor. Nice meeting you. Yeah. And so all you really have to do is a survey. Yeah. And I we I tried to do like an online thing and not a lot of people cared, but one gentleman reached out to me on the backside and I did the survey. I'll share it with you too. I did it also the exact survey picture of everything and I did it as an electronic form. So if some people don't want to, they're not into that maybe they'll do it later with a link. So I can share that with you too. It was super easy. And then it just populates all over to a spreadsheet and send it to Vivie. Yeah, that's a great idea. Yes.

37:02 – 37:36Speaker 1

All I did was take my and scan it in and send them to her. Yeah. And but I Yeah, I'm peeking in destroy it. is there. See, when I first I presented this idea to someone who will remain on and they told me and they told me they're like, "No, they because the people at the boat rentals, they don't fuel the boats and stuff, but you are fueling the There we go." Yeah.

37:34 – 38:13Speaker 1

Right now, we take them out of the water most of the time just go to the gas station cuz everything's there. But I can see like harbor. Let me know if it's somebody gas station needing needing something. That's my thought too. And I've connected with the uh the work we're going to have to do cuz I'm like we're never giving away a couple. I'm happy to pass it. Yeah. And so what we've done and you know I'd encourage you to to do the same and we'll let you know. Uh we've gone out with our um inspectors, our boat inspectors. Oh.

38:11 – 38:54Speaker 1

And so as people are coming in and they're doing inspection on their boat, we're like, "Hey, you want to do this survey? You get this cute little thing." And so um Chris and I have said that we were going to do that um at the when they have tournaments. Um our our um inspectors work all the time. So, we just got with the inspectors and or I have to work, but he's been busy. Chris. Yeah. Yeah. And so, um but that's that was our game plan. It was uh town hall meetings and then going out with our um inspectors, our boat inspectors, and then when we do outreach,

38:52 – 39:30Speaker 1

maybe we should bring some to our people for coastal cleanup day. There's any boers out there. I can't fill out the survey and the survey is not in here. That's what I wanted to show you, but it's just like a little tiny postcard with questions and yes. Yeah. And it's like a knowledge assessment of like what does this sign stand for? And it's for recycled oil. What to kind of get a feel for people who are out in the water. Do they even understand the contaminant? Yeah. It's pretty cool. after that.

39:28 – 40:13Speaker 1

So I think we already looked at the possible 2026 meeting dates. Um so we will look at it check with our calendar if there is any changes we can communicate and then maybe in the next one we can vote about it uh and adopt the meeting schedule. Um the next one we have is the public comment period. So anybody wants or anybody have any comments they can address it now. Okay. Seeing none in the online or like Yeah. Everyone, every time we do this, I try to get a little brag sheet ready for the city.

40:12Speaker 1

Oh, yeah. Okay. So that you can forever.

40:19 – 41:10Speaker 1

Um, we both did. So, Miss Linda was very kind and she coordinated the water boom training with fish and wildlife um the Oscar office and most of our guys went um we have a brand new guy Rob and he definitely got hazed that day. He was the point person and a half. So great training and we stayed and we talked with Cindy after um and she had expressed there were some residual funds for replenishment grants for the spill trailers and we talked with her about like real life scenarios like th this was very cool to see but for me at least the spills that I've responded to have been smaller and more so to like Forbes Creek or something like that and she turned us onto this very interesting tool. Did you get the Watergate, too? Are you going to get one?

41:07 – 41:46Speaker 1

I don't know. I did put it I remember her saying something about it, but it was so long ago I don't remember what. But it's um it's an inflatable that goes across the creek like bam and then the water flowing through it fills up the gate and it has like a roll on the top so it starts skimming the oil. So, it's it's amazing. So, we're excited to get that. We just I think it'll be on our uh word on our council agenda on the 3 to get approved. Cool.

41:44 – 42:20Speaker 1

Um and all of our public works and utilities folks have completed their annual NS4 trainings. Um I'm looking at our internal SOPs and I'd like to update them a little bit. I'd love for um you and Kylie if you have some available to share. Might be nice if we standardized it. Oh, and recently should should we talk about our car wash endeavor? Yeah. So, recently we had um

42:18 – 42:56Speaker 1

Miss Bethany was traveling through town and saw a poster that a local uh business wanted to do a fun which is fantastic. wanted to do a fundraising car wash, but their location was like right on Main Street in the country air. Country Air. Yeah. So, it's Country Air, which is like half a block away from the outlet and kind of enough space, you know, but it so what do you do? You don't want to just go and say, "No, they're trying to do a good thing." Um, so I sat with it for a minute um or two or two.

42:52 – 43:43Speaker 1

Yeah. Um, and I drafted out a letter to them, you know, to to notate it in the history, but also to let them know we appreciated their efforts. And although we couldn't do it that way, but if they wanted to stay at that location, if we added these things, we could do it. Or if we wanted to, we would do a different location, like ideally a commercial or if we could find some permeable ground. And then I worried about that. And I did go to fairgrounds and see if they would have some space for them. Um, and I wound up talking with the folks um who were coordinating it and they were just real appreciative that it wasn't just a hard no. They gave them a couple of options um and they wound up having it. And where did they go? They went to the commercial one last week, right?

43:41 – 44:25Speaker 1

Dance. Yeah. Yeah. So it all worked out really well. They were really pleased and I felt, you know, you never want to tell somebody no like that's so hard for the kids. Exactly. I remember I had heard stories about this. I was like, "Oh gosh, I hope that never happens to me." And then oh um but they were just so kind about it and really genuinely very appreciative that different things were offered. They really had no idea. they weren't, you know, trying to get us fined or anything with. But yeah, and it worked out really well, which was good and exciting. I'm glad that it wasn't just a stale kind of

44:23 – 45:01Speaker 1

or I didn't later on see on Facebook those nasty people very well. So there might be some merit in us across the board updating that educational step with those options for folks so they know. I know. Can you go ahead? My phone turned off, but I I'll I might hit you up because we just got um a request to clean a street. They wanted they're going to clean a street that the food the fork to table or however

44:59 – 45:41Speaker 1

and they want to do that walk and they want to use the uh fire department to clean the road and I'm going like okay close it down. Yeah to clean I guess. Can't they just put some maps down this? That's what I was thinking. Or some like softish uh bottle all the way around and whatnot. But they were kind of I think they were saying it was for parrot festival. Is that right? I think so. Yeah. And I'm going like why would you clean it up? Cuz aren't they don't they have like a horse thing or like not sure if they do.

45:40 – 46:08Speaker 1

I don't know. I've been to the fair festival but farm to fork I know is like a very like nice event. So probably Yeah. Well, they left because I was like, "Well, let me look what the BMPs are." And I pulled out the the folder, the binder with the BMPs in it. And they were like I was like, "Don't worry, you don't have to do all this. I got to find where where you're at, you know, and so I might actually touch base with you to make sure that I'm

46:06 – 46:36Speaker 1

um hitting the correct one." Even with our fire department when they like well there's a couple different things but there's water sometimes that'll go out into Forbes and we get complaints all the time for even water from an ice machine but which is technically in violation but I guess they don't really have they do have BMPs now sort of but not as good as it should be cuz we were thinking that right when uh putting the mats down the little in the grates and stuff

46:34 – 47:16Speaker 1

just had a thought maybe they would settle for just us asking public works to send our street sweeper out there cuz it it's like a vacuum sweeper. So it like sprays and sweeps in there. So there's no off. So maybe we could ask maybe arrange them to for them to do that like the day that they were going to wash it and then that kind of saddle style situation. But then it's up to public works if they can make it out that day. So yeah, let me hit Jimmy up. Make things a lot easier. Oh, really? Yeah. Y the point of the street sweeper to you. Yeah.

47:13 – 47:56Speaker 1

And then the other thing was um they are doing a training on it's environmental health emergency response stuff. Um I thought about you. I just forgot to come up right now. Yeah. Okay. And so I'll send you the flyer. um October they have two cohorts 7th through 8th and then 9 through 10th and so uh prerequisites are ICS trainings 1 through 800 um but I'm trying to think of they'll still um accept your application

47:52 – 48:34Speaker 1

okay and it's our environmental health DP estate I Yes. Yes. Let's keep in mind um enrollment to that. Oh, okay. Okay. Well, yeah, please. I would love to. Cool. Yeah, cuz they only have um 40 spots available. Oh, okay. Yeah. So, and they're doing it here in Lake Words. Oh, very good. employable creep like world she was showing

48:33 – 49:07Speaker 1

Did she tell you how big it was by chance? I'm just thinking of like story. Oh, I can't think of your last name because if you write your email, I will send you the um she put in a couple of lists of vendors who have them and there's different sizes and then there's ones for spilling and then there's also ones that can help with flooding. Okay. That's pretty. Yeah, it's really neat. Most we usually do is just put the like sausage pillow.

49:12 – 49:48Speaker 1

And then um I think uh there was a cast uh sorry the what's that the conference? Yeah. Coming up in uh November. September. No, September. Seth. Next month. Yeah. September. So, you guys know about that? I saw it and I'm forgetting what city it's in. Pasadena. Oh, that's right. Oh, cuz a vendor reached out. I don't I really want to go. That's where I'm from. It's too late at this point.

49:45 – 50:25Speaker 1

I don't think so. Um, if you need a room, let us know because he doesn't need a room and I have three rooms saved. So, we could always just transfer that reservation. So, I'll take his room and uh probably stay at my parents house, but maybe it's a great room. That's sweet. Thank you. I mean, I'm going to look into that. I meant And so, it's so Fred and Linda, are you going also? Yeah. Okay. So, E3. Yeah. Okay. I'll keep you posted on that.

50:23 – 50:36Speaker 1

Yeah, we attended it last year. It was pretty informative. They had a pretty a lot of stuff going on at the same time. So, yeah, if you're interested in that, I think it's a pretty good Yeah.

50:34 – 51:18Speaker 1

They have this um one thing I was trying to I'm looking for grant monies right now because I want to um see if I can do a pilot project. And what it is is it takes uh surface water and it brings it down from u the roads and it holds it kind of but it lets it back into the system like the creeks at a slower rate so it doesn't um tax your system too much and too much pressure but it removes that surface water so you don't have surface flooding. So roads I'm thinking somewhere near roads would be good. Um, and it came with like a um, rubbish basket. So, you would just take the basket out and so that wouldn't go into the box. Collect the debris that you stick on. Yeah,

51:17 – 51:59Speaker 1

I've seen this. Yeah. And I was looking at it and going like, can we modify that not only to catch it, but to put like um pads behind it so we can remove as much oil and um whatnot before it hits the the water gap. And so, but looking at it, I was looking at almost 2 million just for the whatchamacallit. And so, and then it's looking for the site that where it would be beneficial, the best test site. Yeah. Okay. I wanted to do it in the upper lake area. That's where I usually do all my work is in the upper lake area, but the water table there is really hot

51:57 – 52:41Speaker 1

and so it wouldn't be beneficial in upper lake there. Yeah. Interesting. But it's something we're looking for and um we took Jimmy with us uh Jim Hail who is um road superintendent and um he had a lot of good ideas too. So, what is that system called, Linda? Uh, Storm Tank. Storm Tank. Yeah, that's a whole bunch of giveaways. Actually, I brought so many giveaways back for the office. Oh, those were the one which had the free pass. Yeah. Yeah. Okay, I remember them. Yeah,

52:39 – 53:01Speaker 1

they had different types. There was like concrete structures and then there was uh ones that looked like milk crates almost. um that just like subsurface they you could put it in like a park like if you had a park that's flooded you put it underneath and cover it and just you know giant underwater storage.

53:00 – 53:45Speaker 1

Yeah, I can send you guys the specs and stuff um for it. I just thought it was uh really neat and would help with uh stopping road closures and stuff. Letter and then I'll quit. I get a lot of emails that it's storm water awareness week 2025 September 22nd through 26th. FYI 26. Yay. Celebratory thing. I'll have to look up EPA site or something. I'm not very creative.

53:45 – 54:10Speaker 1

Okay. I think with that um we don't have any further comment. We can um agenda the meeting. Yes. Thank you everyone. Thank you. It's everybody. Yeah. Finally an official week. Have a good day. Everybody.
