Personnel Board - Regular Meeting

all right my name is Falcon McAn I'm the solicitor for the MCAS Personnel Board uh this is their regular meeting of January 28th 2025 I'm going to read off the names if uh everyone who's participating can State whether they're present um we'll start with the board members uh so I'll start let's see with uh Rita Martin here Matt Shipley was that Matt yes I'm pres okay I'm sorry uh Cynthia s oh probably don't have her no okay Brian Snider I am here Amy where's ban I'm here and then uh Bradley Kaiser is an alternate are you present I am present just for the record Cynthia is also an alternate oh I'm sorry I thought she was on the board okay she's an alternate as well and then we have uh Chief Hawk present and uh Joe wall yes I'm here and and Jack Casey and uh the new town manager John swend hello okay I think that's everyone so we do have a quorum um so we're going to call the meeting to order any uh comments from the public on agenda items

only hearing no comments we'll continue with the organization of the board wait a minute first meeting oh no never mind I thought she was going up to comment she's not or they are not sorry it's really hard to see okay I'm sorry so we're good with no comments then all right we'll move on to the organization of the board uh this is our first meeting of the new year so under our rules and regulations uh we're required to elect a chair and a vice chair uh so at this time I'll accept nominations for the position of chair of the Personnel Board I would like to nominate Matt Shipley and I'm sorry I need reflected to say that only um full board members can serve in these positions so the alternates could not serve in these positions um do I have a nomination for Matt Shipley are there any other nominations any other nominations hearing no other nominations I we'll close the nominations and I would just ask uh for all in favor of Matt Chipley as the chair all in favor I I hi any Nays all right then uh Matt Chipley is the new chair of the Personnel Board uh we'll uh accept nominations next for the vice chair of the board any nominations yeah i' would like to nominate Amy wban

all right any other nominations any other nominations all right hearing no other nominations I will'll close the nominations and uh I would ask for all those in favor of Amy wpan as the vice chair to um say I I I any Nays and motion carries so the new Vice chair of the board will be Amy wban um at this time I'm going to turn the rest of the meeting over to our new chair uh Matt Chipley for the rest of the meeting thank you thank you Falco uh are there any comments on the the meeting minutes that were sent to you all right if there's no comments then I'll open it up for uh approval do have a motion to approve so moved second Brian second all in favor I I I opposed n all right the eyes have it uh are there any public comments oh excuse me sorry to interrupt I'm going to jump off the meeting okay thanks okay old moving on to Old business so we just want to recognize Chief Hawk's return from the FBI Academy uh welcome back Chief good to have you back here we missed you thank you I miss you folks as

well and is there any any other old business that we need to uh need to go over what about new business are there any public comments I'll take that as a no no I think Ellen right an opportunity for a public comment um Ellen Wright 9635 old Kumer Road Alison Park pa1 15101 um I just wanted to um also add my um recognition to Chief Hawk um we're lucky to have Chief Hawk here as our police chief and wanted to acknowledge Him for that um and then my other general public comment would be um I um I've understand that we didn't particularly follow the procedures that are laid out in great detail um in the last hiring and I of course would commend following the procedures that are laid out in the code so that's my other comment and and then are we're going to do executive session thank you I'm done all right is there any any other public comments then I uh Jack did you have something yeah I make uh anybody U motion to adjourn to Executive session is there anybody have would somebody make a motion to adjourn to Executive session uh yes I motion to adjourn to an executive session second second yeah I will second all right Roger that and let's uh
