I aliance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands. One nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. Andy, just so you know, we got a big crowd here. My lovely wife and Cody. All right. I like it this way. Motion to approve the February meeting. Make a motion. Second.
Thank you. Allowance.
Need a motion. I'll second it. Thank you. No appointment board appointment reports. go to your
Okay, I will start with the fluoride. I am looking to discontinating the water. Uh I need the town council to vote on that. Uh as far as what the reason for is purely for dental health, why we do it is why the state or the I believe the state or the country or whatever has started doing its over time. There's more easier ways to get fluoride into your system if you want. Like you can purchase fluoride toothpaste. You can do other things. What's the cost? Cost of fluoride. What do we pay for?
Uh basic we buy a bag of it, but let's put it this way. We haven't bought a bag of it. I don't so long I don't know what it cost because I've never had to buy it. But I'm getting ready to act and buy it. That's why I'm trying to decide if we're going to keep it or not. It's not real expensive. What's the con to I mean is there me personally I don't think there there is a con uh if you what's other towns do there their discretion it's up to the people who run the town but there are some towns that aren't full
yeah I don't know about in this state but I can tell you there are yeah mostly in like California and over that area type places u my biggest problem with Like I told you earlier, you know, I can with the the suggested dosage is 7 milligs per liter. I can go up to 2 milligrams per liter, but at 1.7 millig per liter is when it starts causing health problems for people. And you're allowed to go up to two. Exactly.
I'll make a notion that we get stopating the water. And if if we decide in another year that we don't made a mistake or something, which I don't see, we could always go back to Andy, what's your thought? Yeah. What? Somebody said something about California. Whatever they're doing, I want to do the opposite. Not everything they're doing is bad, but I understand what you're saying. So, do you s First first thing I have to do is I have to notify that bag out.
Yeah. Yeah. I can't I can't do anything without notifying them first. Let them know and then there's nothing to run out. There's none up there. No, I we get we go through very little. It's not a It's not a like a We got a I I've literally never I think we put one bag in here. Okay. All right. Like a bag of the whole thing in there. Yeah. Then you just keep filling up the water. All right. Anything else?
Uh the meter lids as we're replacing the as we're doing we're doing our project with with the changing over to radio meters. there's a chance that we're going to come across an issue where people are going to be running lawn mowers and we may have to constantly replace them. Uh so I'd like to pass an ordinance that we'll replace one for free but then after that we can we have the charge meter. So you're saying if they do one we replace it the first time the second time there's something on top of the lid. Is that what you're saying? It's basically like a little puck like that. Looks like a
Yeah, it's about a hockey hockey puck like that and it's it's like this and it's about Yeah, just about that big and it's not that so there's a chance for people who have their meter lids level with the ground they could drive over it. Yeah, they drive over or other things, you know, if they if they're constantly driving over with their car and break it or something. Do you know the cost to repay the place? I don't, but And also the guy the guy that's installing if they have problems in other towns. He's the one that suggested I do this. Well, we need to know how much it cost. Yeah, I understand.
I uh you got to tell me where I've got to go to get them because I don't know where those came from. We'll get with it. But we need to know what to tell people. But you're going to be responsible after this. By the next meeting, I'll have a price. cost you x amount of dollars to replace. Yeah. By the next meeting, can we put something on the water? Yeah.
Yeah. You'll get some prices for us. We'll have a better idea what it cost. But we already we are installing them now. Currently, yeah, we have I'm guessing about 30 to 40 right now. I counted him before he started the other day. He had 25. All right. And he moves pretty quick. Anything else? That's all for me. Is there any Is there any disruption to your water service when you're installing these? About a just long enough for him. He shuts it off long enough to unhook the one and throw the other one. He takes like five minutes. Yeah. This puts a little
Yeah, probably. I mean, which is no different than when we change. All right.
Um, I was looking at it just before I come over here. Uh, I'm going to dry that spot out cuz when I just before I come over here, I was looking at it. It kind of looks like it could have been from the rain coming down through the filter, too. So, I I want to dry that out and then see if it's still leaking. And then I'll I don't know for sure. Ken Ken's got to call in to the guy and tell him that two to three weeks is not acceptable. He needs to be up here as soon as possible. So, I'm waiting to hear back. And I think I think whether that's the problem or not, we need to let that happen. Yeah. Ken's going to try to light a fire under because I haven't heard from nobody.
Also, if it is rusted out and leaking there, you can bypass it for a couple days or a few days without a boil order or anything. That's perfectly fine. Well, and I can also I can he's going to check with his regulatory people to make sure just double check and if it gets too dangerous always shut those cells off. Yeah. Two different cells and it would be I would imagine a lot slower process.
Yeah. And like I said with us tomorrow with speaking about the meters utility supply company is the guy that we're working with paper on this part. He's given me He's going to send a quote that has doing the what I'm including Neptune 360 which is what we will have includes installation and training and the annual maintenance will increase the fee for this option current $795 to do all of that is $2,990.
Yeah. The other option is for just a standard layout for the water meters. Um a one time setup fee, but it does not increase the annual maintenance fee. So it doesn't include any um training or maintenance on it. But the way I'm looking at it, and I want to talk when he comes back again next week, he said he's going to be here as long as he needs to be to to teach us how to use it. So I don't need for the for the training, but I want to make sure that his training is the same as what they were going to do. I want to do apples to apples
here. But for one thing, I don't feel comfortable in spending the extra $795.
That's anemic. And then it was just the And so I mean I don't we don't have a problem if the guy can train us in what they're going to train us. So I mean this is probably something I need to talk to him first before you guys vote on it. I just want to make sure that we are two different I'm still getting emails weekly from the guy
Mark Smith what doing for the 250th and iconic this week from what I can guess we probably aren't doing anything special but we could maybe look into doing America 250 banners for the town artist there is a set banner that's like $7 each. But my suggestion would be when normally we do we have three different pictures, right? Not four when we do the Christmas ones. Don't we have some other American?
No, we don't. That's the thing. We had some old TDS and they were rotted. We ought to do every other one. That's what I'm thinking. Let's if we do three different pictures or four different pictures, do three of these to mix in, but go ahead and buy 12 of the other. Yeah, exactly. Yeah. Do every other one. 1240 but you're going for like June are they doing anything like Buffalo or do anything
nothing's been said there was a form that they wanted us to fill out is what the town was doing so he could send it to the state and I said we probably aren't having any kind of program or anything like that there's nobody to do So my suggest 12, but I don't think we need 12.
Yeah. Well, I mean, I think we buy four of the 250s and then 12 patriotic ones. So we can have summer ones next year, but just do four of the 250 and We'll put a 12. Make a motion. I'll make a motion. We get four 250s and 12 some other kind of different. You get all that. Got you. You must have got it.
All right. The town sign update. Ken and Cody got everything ran and Ken said we have a good signal out there, but hadn't fixed the sign. My My understanding you got to open that up and do something inside. So I'm going to call Clifford signs tomorrow find out what we got to do and do it. He said there's a real good signal out there. I don't know. He looked at it
according to kind of Carol County EDC did not show up.
