County Council - Regular Meeting

Information only that brings us to 15 which is council comments and

Yeah, I have one, Mr. Chairman. I attended two funerals today, and we lost two outstanding people in Chester County July the 2nd. One was Marion B. Key. He ran Key Service Station in Richburg for many years, 90 years old, and he contributed so much to the schools and everything down there. And he was quite a character. He wore a beanie hat with a propeller on it. And he was just bokeh. And then we lost Mrs. Sandra Turner. You know Mac Turner. They were farmers out in Lance Ford. And Mrs. Turner, she was a fudge. And she graduated as a solid... Solitary, I can't say it, but my words won't come out. But she graduated number two in the class of 1964, and her best friend from the first grade finished as the valedictorian. We graduated in the class of 64. So there was about eight of us at her funeral today. And she was just a wonderful person. She was very smart, fell in love with a guy in the ninth grade. She was in the eighth grade and she married him as soon as school was out. And they went on to be very successful in raising cows and chickens and cows. And whatever else they did, but they were just good people, those two families. I'd like to make sure y'all think about them and what they did. Bo Key was, Aaron knows Bo Key, and he was a little different.

So he was a good fellow.

He was good. Both of them.

I'd like to wish Councilman Key, you know, happy 61st belated birthday.

I had it on my list, too. I forgot to do it last time. Happy late birthday. Happy birthday. And I'd like to say, Sue, we just had our laser light show, the SCT50 did their laser light show Saturday night at the Gateway, and we had a tremendous crowd and could not keep up with how many, and we stopped at about 850-plus people that were there that filled the Gateway. So it was really fun. I know Councilman Wilson was there, and I'm not sure. If you were there, I may have missed you because there were so many people. So it was a good time. I just wanted to kind of announce that. It was a really good turnout, and it was a lot of fun.

All right. I know students at ATL are returning to school this week. So keep those parents and teachers and kids all in your prayers as they do. I've got a kindergartner going. Is there anything else? I'll entertain a motion to adjourn.
