I'd like to welcome everyone to a City Council special meeting of Wednesday, July 29th. Call the meeting to order and ask for approval of the agenda. So moved. Okay. Okay. Yes. Okay. Before we start public comment this evening, I would like us to have a moment of silence for a community member that passed away, Rob Emerson. So if everyone could join me in a moment of silence. Thank you. Okay, so for public comment, we are, you're welcome to make public comment. You have three minutes to make it. We both have a timer on the screen. Be kind and respectful and state the date and mailing address. So is there anyone that would like to make public comment, excuse me, in the audience? No. Okay, is there anyone on Zoom? If you'd raise your hand, please.

Good evening Tim.

2:59 – 3:30Speaker 1

Good evening and thanks and I just wanted to say thank you so much for taking time to do this special meeting. I know you have way more meetings than you should and this was very kind of you to to call this special meeting. It allows the democratic process to go forward. And I'm just very grateful that you all did that. So thank you.

3:33 – 3:56Speaker 4

Thank you. Anybody else? Okay, one last chance for the audience. Okay, so we have one item on our agenda and that is the initiative I-20-26-01. All right.

3:57 – 4:42Speaker 3

So we are here tonight to officially file the initiative with the city council. The staff report contains a timeline of the process that happened to get to this point. And council's choices right now are you do nothing and become exposed to the ballot no matter, or you You can do a competing ballot measure if you so choose to, and this measure still goes to November, and then your competing measure will go to November also. The deadline to file a competing measure would be August 14th. You would have to have a full ballot filed when everything's done by that date. So this is for informality. And it's now been filed with the council. Carrie, you guys are very open. It is on Zoom if anyone has any questions.

4:43Speaker 4

Okay. Anybody have any questions? Would anybody like to?

4:52Speaker 3

I'm entirely prepared to do nothing. Okay.

4:59Speaker 4

Is everybody okay with doing nothing? Yeah. Any discussion? I don't think I have anything to discuss about. Okay.
