This is just a reminder, this is our first meeting of the month of July, which is where SB 707 was it, became in effect where we are now back to zooming our meetings, kind of sort of like what we did during the pandemic. So on the agenda, this is the web address for the Zoom meeting. Okay, moving on to item four is our business, and that means we are doing roll call vote for each thing now in the future or no? Yeah. OK, I don't force business items not requiring a public hearing for A's consideration to adopt proposed resolution number next in order certifying the election results for the June 2nd, 2026 special municipal election. This is going to be introduced by our city cleric, Miss Nancy Salazar.

Mayor Vargas and members of the city council, as you are aware, the city held a special municipal election on June 2nd, 2026. This item certifies the results of that election. This item required a majority vote. As a result of the election, the voters approved Measure B by a majority vote. It is recommended that the city council adopt resolution number next in order, certifying the election results with a June 2nd, 2026 special municipal election.

Item B is consideration to adopt proposed resolution number next in order, authorizing execution of an agreement with the California Department of Fee and Tax Administration, also known as CDTFA, for the administration of the city's transactions and use tax. This will be introduced by our assistant city manager, Ernie Reyna.

Yes, thank you, Mr. Mayor, members of the City Council. So as Mayor indicated, this item is to ensure that the Measure B that was just approved by voters on June 2nd gets administered. The target date is October 1st, when this tax will come into effect. So in order for them to collect the money and then remit it back to us, there's a series of protocols that we have to follow. One of them is to adopt this resolution. So in that resolution that's included with your staff is a an agreement for the preparation to administer and operate the city's transactions and use tax, as well as an agreement for state administration of city's transaction and use tax. So two exhibits that are included with the resolution. So staff is just recommending that the council go ahead and approve this motion for the resolution and then move forward and we can go forward with the CDTFA. So if you have any questions, I'll be here to answer those questions for you.
