City Council - Regular Meeting

Good evening, Mayor and Council. We had some direction on one of our budget workshops to look into short-term rentals for the city limits and implement a reporting form for them to turn in their hot funds. So we have put one in your packet for quarterly reporting of their hot funds. We are entertaining sending out a letter with this reporting form to let them know we're aware they have ownership of a short-term rental in the city limits, and it is their state report Perhaps the discussion was in creating an ordinance to then send out those letters in the collection forms. The ordinance never made it to an actual reading, and so letters were never sent because the ordinance was not created. At this time, we're not proposing an ordinance to be created. We're just asking for compliance from owners and citizens.

discounting the newspaper because the newspaper does a good job of how we as a city got to this point I think this is years and years of relying on one department to kind of bankroll the city and we can't do that anymore and so therefore each department is now pretty much trying to move to the point of self-sustained just so you as citizens understand what's going on. This is not a opportunity that we're looking at. This is a dire situation, a must situation for us. We are really gonna be in a lot. I just wanna make sure everyone

Kindred Spa, the Montgomery family business, had dreams of becoming a state-of-the-art wellness facility. Their goal materialized when they moved to this new location in the spring of 2026. Vision Lampasas was asked to design a mural to depict their wellness philosophy. Hence, Healing Waters Mural was born. Kindred Spa is a mind, body, and soul experience lifting the human entity to an ethereal level of calm, comfort, and renewal. Looking back into Lang Pass' history, the springs have offered healing water experiences to residents and visitors to the area for over 100 years. Bringing that idea into the present day, the mural taking in the landscape of life. And we dedicate it later in the summer. And we hope that each one of you will swing by and take a look at it. It's really fun.

Number 17. And actually, it was the very first one. new way to go. When did you all start? 2008. 2008. We've done, we've only done our repair on I think two of them out of the 17. And interesting, some are loved, some are beloved, some are not so cared about. Everybody has their own to be made about. But we think we've done a great job.

Good evening, Mayor Johnson. The property owner is asking the council to consider approval of the preliminary plot. The area is characterized as a little estate. The property is surrounded by a business park, BZP3, single-family residential 10,000, and commercial. All notifications and publications as required by witnesses This request was heard at the July 2nd, 2026 planning and zoning meeting and passed with a 5-0 vote. There was one resident in attendance. His concern was that his property backs up to, Mr. Kramer, his property backs up to a section of this subdivision where his pool is. His concern was that people would be looking out their windows directly into his backyard, into his pool, and he doesn't want so the property owner built into the covenants for the subdivision that an eight foot fence is required for all homes backing up to his property and they will minimize the amount of two-story homes built in that area of backing up this any questions

Land Pass Association for the Arts regarding the use of Campbell Park.

Mayor and Council will bring to you an updated contract with LAFTA for the use of Campbell Park for the Sculpture Garden. LAFTA is currently pursuing grant opportunities with LCRA for some inclusive playground equipment and some other things that they have some ideas for at Campbell Park. In doing so, we needed to update what has been an expired lease agreement. So we took the opportunity to remove any references to, at the time it was called, I believe Land Passage Preservation, so LPI, from the agreement and replace that with LAFTA as they are an independent 501c3 organization. So it's simply an update of that original contract before you. It doesn't And I think they'll have the ladies. I don't know if they got an opportunity to put the kind of their vision that they have on the diet. So they've got some really neat projects lined up.
