Madame Chair, I would like to do a little bit of discussion, please. Um, I wanted to go over who was on the committee before we get started. Um, it was Superintendent Cop, myself from the school board, uh, from the city of Frankfurt, it was Mayor Wilkerson and Amber Morland. Um, from the fiscal court it was Judge Mhler and Dak Kennedy, and then we had Randy Nukem from Visit Frankfurt, Scotty Tracy from the Franklin County Sports Tourism Commission who is granting the funding for this approval. And then Dan Leeman acted as a the citizen member of the committee. And I think next we're going to have a presentation from Schmidt. Here. Here. And tonight on the agenda we have a discussion and award of a regarding the matatorium. Go ahead. First

present. Thank you. Stay here. Just pull one of those tables out of the way. Oh, the presentation. Okay. Well, for those Hello. We're delighted to be here to represent Schmidt Associates. Uh uh Schmidt is celebrating its 50th year in business uh this year and um we have a long history of uh creating mandatoriums for high school and a university uh institutions. Um we created value for a lot of uh I think we work in a whole lot of school districts in Indiana and a handful in Kentucky. Um, we're based in Louisville and we also have office in Indianapolis. Um, but I wanted to share that both me and Dina have ties to the city of Frankfurt. I've

lived here previously. I believe I've lived deep in the county in Peaks Mill, spent time in Bald Knob. I've lived in downtown Frankfurt and South and have a lot of friends in the community. So, it means a lot to me uh to be awarded this this project for you all. You deserve this and uh thank you. Uh really honored to be brought here especially on unanimous decisions by

Okay. Um my name is Vina Ready. I'm a principal and project architect at Smith Associates. Um I'm thrilled to be here as well. Um it's it was it was a a blast to get into this project. sort of just dive right in as we said at the interview where we were given a program that they're really comfortable with because it is wellness and fitness and and an auditorium. So, it felt right for us. So, um we started to dive right in. I work I'm working a lot right up the street at KSC. So, the first thing we did was get our partner from Element, Ramona Fly. Um she is doing work all over Frank. So we started to look at the at the um spaghetti junction over here u together to determine how we would start to think about this very compressed site and um make maximize the site and also maximize the value the presence that it has on right off of MLK. So that was our first start. Um it was to think about how do we engage the view from Martin Luther King Boulevard um in create enough parking to be amendable but also really think about well this is a compact site we want to give you more program we don't want to just give you parking when there's a ton of parking across the street that during certain most hours you will be able to use so um that was our starting point look at look at how do we engage the site properly we also noticed that on the site there is a beautiful amount of of natural making great wellness it could be about so that's a start and we're going to do this with you as you need addition more more thinking about who you all are and how do you discuss this in the architecture and in the experience um this this piece I spoke to previously

really just wanting to understand how do we fight this we know that there's opportunities through this in phases. have also been focusing in the background. How do we make sure that we can provide for you? What do you need um at the getgo? And then how how do we if if funding allows only for one portion of this development and another priority is the magi then we're going to start there. We'll develop a program that can be built out over the course. Next question. So this is how we start our design process. We take all of the programmatic elements. A lot of times we get we get um stakeholder engagements events and we ask what um we ask what needs to go next next to another what is missing so all these parts and pieces somebody might say well I really think we need a daycare and that piece isn't any but somebody might say that and we'll take that into account so I think this is the things that we discovered during the review process where we said we had a party room, but maybe we want a party room right off the pool, but there's things yet to be discovered as we start to engage the team. Next slide, please. So, here's a plan that we submitted and you've seen it in the proposal and we we walk through it in the interview process as well. And what you're seeing here is in the blue is the matatorum portion of the building and then in the green is the wellness center. And as you can see, they're kind of a yin-yang space and they it within the in the middle in order to create the most amount of efficiency, that's where you get all the core shared spaces between the two. Um not all the mechanicals. The mechanicals are pretty much independent. Uh specifically because nitorium spaces really require a very different mechanical space than a than a fitness center. Both are pretty high um I would

say um high energy systems. So that's another reason why we'll be exploring geothermal for at least a 14. What you're seeing in this slide and you can go to the next slide please. So um this is an axonometric of an or a exploded uh version of a 3D of of your space. And what you're seeing is that we try because it is a compressed site we want to try to start stacking things. So on the niatorum side, what you're seeing is that um the seating is actually raised above all of the loft spaces and some of the offices in order to create that efficiency and compact. Also, we want to make sure that we get some really good views into some see the hints of of where do we start building in windows and you'll see that in the rendering further on. Again, we want more efficiency and we also saw in RF what we really want is one of those elevated tracks. It's it's perfect because it creates an efficiency where you're stacking your your weights and your cardio and you're also stacking your your super court um and and creating an elevated um track above it with also some extra um plenty of extra group fitness spaces and some therapy um med excuse me physiootherapy spaces, some saunas um just just you know the things that your your community deserves and wants. Um, another big important portion of this is um is the event space. Um, it is it's an opportunity to make some revenue in the space. It's an opportunity to also have overflow from from different events like if you're having a large um kids who stage in there, but you can also turn it over into a beautiful event space that opens out into um some natural views or potentially an exterior um patio. Um, and you can I think I'm pretty much through here. We wanted to just uh kind of pull up a rendering video of this space. Um, so if you want to just pull up the video and you can

now thing that we like to do at commit is just make sure that the community knows what we're designing and that they can visualize it. So important aspect of that is creating some 3D walkthroughs or visualizations. We started we started working on that this this for this part. Pardon me dramatic music. As you see these shiny images, we have not solidified the design. This will all all change with your input. Um, but we're really proud to go through your guided so far. Okay.
