Brown 12:05 Avenue C 8:33 North 12th Street I mean nor 13 Street and he's actually working on that I talk him today but that's another the May about that and 7 blue those are the ones we going bring up to if y see anymore if yall know anymore besides these just you know feel free to give me a call me know and U I go check working on getting all these CR taking care of so we can make ni and okay so we did ride around today um about an hour and a half two hours um but we stopped at a lot of different properties um and we had a question for the attorneys um the property I forget the address is on U the one that you said was under like housing authorities authorities um so they have a paper in the in the window yeah it was in the window it's two papers actually um so I'm I'm assuming um Lance said he thinks the the person passed away that lived there so they have a car out there that didn't have a place what's what's the address I have to get yeah we'll have they get we didn't write the address down but that was a question I told him to ask because I wasn't sure it was you know under bad was falling down kind of thing but we weren't sure how the law works now the question is cuz we actually cut the grass once on that property so what it is do we have the

authority to go like fing fing the leans and recy cost right and tag any other okay to me address okay okay I know it's close to the museum um but we'll we'll get but also the invoices for the cost of cutting yeah a hood a hood on Miss so we weren't sure if we treat it just like a reg property or not okay any more questions good evening mayor C everyone in the month of March we had 258 calls which we had 19 W calls 10 uh we assisted the five Department 10 times we have one order of protected C two suspicious persons one shot spot 15 disturbances seven deaths three trespass um trespassing calls seven hidden runs three remaining of been for forbidden two criminal damage calls one custody matter we assisted U other law enforcement agenes two times that one accidental damage one rape one unauthorized use four assaults 50

medical calls uh two 911 hangups three frauds three all traffic six damage to properties uh nine check person calls two missing persons 10 domestics uh information calls we had 22 of them which is considered like miscellanies uh five deaths two batteries five investigation calls three matters two vehicle Birds one bur uh one traffic stop and two lost and fins we had a total of 22 arrests which was uh we had one disturbing piece by count one contract and fraud one simple battery six domestic abuse batteries two simple assaults two remaining left been forbidden one death one resistant one Fusion warrant uh two p curfew for mons two traffic related one simple escate one batter of police offer one improper telephone communication one two stalking cyber stalking one elal possession of stolen things one illegal possession of firearm and the other one is one of stolen things uh purchase of possession of alcohol by um beverage by Juvenile we have one of those we had 28 traffic crash seven private properties and 30 traffic have any question I see our track chick is is moving up us to get one and two we get more offices I think we keep everybody thank you

Public Works committee call to order estem porn roll call please Gordon here P here M King here all item four discuss drainage inspection and cleaning okay so uh this was brought up by um councilman Hubble um a couple weeks ago and uh we brought it to the attention I think last month at meeting so we have started um because of the rain that we've been getting um this councilman pain and councilman Hubble I was riding Monday and ran into both of them um we had an issue at U Avenue GM 14th Street and then Avenue G and Gladiola Street uh it was pretty bad it was brought to my attention by one of the parish councilmen um so of course the rain that was Saturday but we had rain Sunday and we had rain Monday so uh they went out with the vac truck on uh Monday morning after it finished and um kind of started with the drains it was hard for them to to find the drain because it was a lot of water um they had started in some other areas before but we have to do what we need to do as Citizens as well because when they uh sucked that water out with that V truck they had bottles they had plates they had chip bags they had everything from yards that cuz I stood out there with them the the whole time when they um used that V truck um so just so happen the guy stopped by yesterday I think with Covington sales where we purchased the V truck from so uh we do need some more of our employees um to get the training um because a lot of them they

were out there to help but they weren't able to operate the the vac truck um so uh we have one or two from the sewer department that came out as well as the water and gas department so I think we need pretty much all of them back there that the ones that sewer and Rosen drainage to learn how to um you know operate the V truck because uh you know the rain isn't going to stop of course um but I I do want to say I commend them because they had started before before so that was the only areas I think that um we had because we you know all were riding and we were able to see and I think overall the city did pretty well okay committee call to order establish a form roll call this is Joseph pres here Mr H here update development activ good evening everyone good evening I am so excited we got so much going on we don't know how we going to do it all but we sure going to give it a try um just want to mention a few things that's going on these these next couple of weeks um in the city of course we're excited about our event that being sponsored by the city and the folk that are in our community that are that are great sponsors and that's our uh kidsfest which will be on Saturday April 12th beginning at noon until 4:30 and it'll be downtown Fort Allen just so excited about uh the kids coming down and having a great time meanwhile I don't think the the young folk have any blank time or any three time uh because

there's so much to do because just the next day the museum has a has has a function on this Saturday we have um the Holy Family bear fair so Fort Allen is is really bustling with a lot of stuff to do uh during the month of April and uh it's just great to see everything going on but not just for the young folk our sherff department has is putting on an event on next week it's called I think save where they've invited out the senior citizens with them and they're going to give them not only feed them but a lot of information that they need uh to help them throughout the community in their daytoday huh give the date April 16 April 16th thank you it wasn't only I'm sorry so yeah April 16th thank you uh Council lady Gord um but yeah and so uh just keep an eye out for the other advertisement I'm pretty sure that there will be some type of Transportation with the c on the agent to get everyone uh to the event um we're just excited about a lot of stuff that's going on but also we know there's a lot of um needs of the things with in the city and since our new Mar has come on there's quite a few observations that that the community and the citizens have made and brought to our attention and we're going to do our best to try to take care as much as possible um first of all um folk had brought it to our attention what he notic that our shuy and our our fotage on the levy and other areas around the city we're kind of not in total disarray but we'll need a little sprucing up um and we have applied to a grant for to keep lisiana beautiful and keep our fingers crossed that we do get some funds to help uh make Port Allen beautiful um we also um will be working uh with the citizens if you know anyone

that needs help with the um with their roofs the Louisiana blue tart program is still open has reopened and will be open I think for a couple of weeks I don't have the exact date here um it's from now to May yes okay yeah beginning March 31st until May so we will try to help assist them and and actually um getting the work done through the the blue tart uh project so that's exciting that we can make our community beautiful in ways that we haven't been able to do before so if y'all know anybody that need help please tell them me give us a call and we going to do whatever we can do to try to make things happen for them um we will be updating our web page within the next two to 3 weeks so there'll be some different things that y'all will be looking forward to U we working with the folk to make it look a little bit different and gives it give it a little bit more personality so kind of be patient with us on that end but we are working toward making Port Allen uh noticeable on the worldwide web um um oh another thing I'm just trying to go down the list uh I know y'all have noticed that over the years the Port Allen Depot has kind of going in a little disarray um down a little bit so we kind of um working toward U getting some improvement done uh just the ideas of floating right now we don't have any architecture drawings or anything like that so we're open for ideas if y'all want to pass by and look at it and throw some ideas out and what we need at that Depot because of course that's one of the welcoming sites when you come into the city I think it was origin designed as a welcome center and hopefully we can bring it back and mayor patan is is really supportive of that and hopefully we can able to find the money to to make

it beautiful um last but not least on August 21st the city of Port Allen and the administration here will be working with other Mayors to have our first senior again whereas all the seniors will be invited out from the hours of 10 to 2 am I correct yes uh and uh we we got sponsors coming in we going to have food we going to have fun we going to have information we'll have all kind of good things so spread the word not only behind the sherff event but this one supposedly will blow that event out so the planet has started already and we're very very excited about that event so I think event wise and in the city that's we're kind of covered for for the month of April we have some other things that are planned for the month of May don't forget we got juneth coming up in June and uh we rocking and rolling any questions also in may we have family day in the Park Family Day in the park we may 2 we are a corporate um investor in it was trying to cover and then I skipped to August because I wanted F to say what can I contri so yes we do have family in par and it's a week earlier I think this year so they'll be coming out with their advertis all right any other questions all right call the personel committee to order to establish a for could we have a roll call please Mr Hubble here M Gardon here Mr Pay Here all present thank you uh item number four discuss and it had resignation on there but uh that is to be changed to retirement of patr the Davis CFO affected April 4th

2025 okay as you all know uh we sent an email out to each council person um to let you know that um our CFO is is retiring from the city of Port Allen um she's here tonight I don't know if she wanted to say something but um her last day will be Friday um so I don't know if you want to say something so um I'll go in straight to number five if that's okay yes ma'am okay so um I asked um for this to be put on the agenda um possibly for agenda item for next week um discuss authorizing um myself to make emergency appointment for the Director of Finance um as you all know um Mr D is currently our assistant CFO and so I really want to move him to the interim position um I understand we have to um by our ordinance still advertise for the position um but he is currently doing the work now um um he's been helping and assisting U Miss Davis once she gave her letter um so uh we're asking that um he become the interim Director of Finance until then uh effective 410 to 423 uh 2025 payroll um and he'll start at 122b be the step parade yes I have any questions about it and Mr D want this position we've talked about it in and um yes uh he did ask um so it's not a secret um to get a little training from U Falcon Winkler that's still here helping us for the things that he lack I'm sorry how long will we keeping fing wickly once he get trained

at least well we're keeping him if he's the the person after interim if he's the appointed person um at least maybe months um but we're going to give it no and we're not um you know and it could be before but he did ask for a time frame and we've had them so far so I I told him I thought that would be fine yeah that's fine thank you a for stepping in okay uh item number six discuss hiring the following individuals as police officers with a start date of April 10th 2025 at a step grade of 110 a we got a parade here I don't think these L going to be police they too pretty as you can see I have five um potential candidates um I'll let them introduce themselves to you [Music] guys good evening my name isanda Thomas um okay my name is Thomas can you pull the mic up so we can hear you yes my name is Wanda Thomas I'm from B Louisiana um I have a passion for law enforcement and I'm currently cosmetologist and aesthetician and educator but I am looking forward to a change of career um I'm very excited passionate about what I'm moving into and I look forward to so this your first time becoming a police officer yes ma'am okay how you doing my name is Kaitlyn Hyde I'm from Mississippi um I work for

Doc for a few years um I am currently in school for criminal justice so I like it's about time that I apply what I've learn and um if I'm on I'm looking forward to learning more and helping out now you know this is a city it's not like Mississippi now I know I always deal with the police since I got out of high school I got a truck driver um I like to fish turn my you knowland you know for Community for the change of my family too you know I be like the black sheep you know PR generation Cur you know do something different and wise but I'm here I'm here for y'all you know I got we need a birth certific for this child here Ain no way in the world this child 2 years old before we hire you sir you need to produce your birth certific evening I'm I'm 23 up in sou R uh I'm currently in Corrections right now I also work for M yeah I've always wanted to do this I've been trying to do it for a while appreciate the opportunity hopefully thank you is you I'm sorry I'm nervous even everybody my name is kaj clart I currently work for cion parir

Sheriff's Office um I'm currently 24 years old um I had a dream of becoming law enforcement I just made some bad choices in life and I'm starting to make good ones now um that's all I got hopefully I can produce and succeed in the community of Fort Island become a factor and become a giver to the community so n have any children oh we going work out as you see these guys had participated in out Hing man uh not only did they participate they are they did excellent there also U they went they interviewed with us some of you guys was able to meet them and in interview and they all pting Matrix so they here where where does this BR you as far as numbers uh we still we still at the same spot uh now unfortunately the guy that I did bring in last month he left within 3 days he didn't even start so put us right back behind so with these five we plan on starting off with a probation period get them well trained then eventually sent to the academy and from there we should all be able to proceed for welcome

committee call to H esta quum roll call Mrs K here H here Mrs J I I just want to ask a question um to the mayor um I understand that our former mayor still have access to the cameras for the city of Port Allen and our GPS and he have to notify you of what's going on in Port Allen and I don't understand why he still have access to those camera and not you we've called um to the company um I think we I should have access to the GPS um Mr Lewis call today darl Lewis he made the phone call today um we did not go over that um in the exits of the the former mayor um you know he did reach out and say you know hey you need to get the um GPS and the the um camera access but um the state has been down our Gro lately since the um retirement of Mr land so that has take president need to turned over once you got yeah we we did not uh a lot of things that I'm learning on the job because we did not have time because I still was an employee doing payroll so we just hired someone for payroll so hopefully I can get all that coming up and we look forward to everybody volunteering for kids this time whatever us

what time is start start at noon I'll be here we up here we have another meeting at 9:00 with the commod board we be here so get the word out it should be a fun time um I know you you all ask for register so can they register when they come out here it's not okay if they call me going have the registration but that doesn't matter we not anybody down we just you know I like to get yeah I know not giving our tickets to sign up thank you the registration did say um August 1st but the bills went out yesterday we did put it on the bill so you still have time to register I do not have registration forms at my house they're here they're either on the second floor or at the on the table at the utility office window and before we leave I just want to thank each and everyone of you all for calling texting me um coming to the hospital to see me I'm like 98% well but I'm getting there and I thank God for leaving me here um with the sickness that I have but I really appreciate you all um for your concern and the man made us pray for you I'm back uh yeah we love to have volunteers but U we'll have food for parents we have food for the kids you name it we'll have it plus we W be the parents did you get in touch with the J committee at put yes we did make the call okay cuz my grandson app he would be here definitely um I just need all the council members to stay um after um a part of the the state's plan is to um give you all um public awareness um so I
