Open Data public workshop update

Review attendance and feedback from the July 21 "Vibe Coding Cambridge Open Data" public workshop, which had 60 attendees. Discuss lessons from the first offering and possible future workshops. Strategic Plan metrics dashboard update and Board discussion

Review the current internal dashboard and concerns that it emphasizes Strategic Plan Priority 1 more heavily than the other priorities. Discuss what a balanced public dashboard should communicate across the 2026-2028 Strategic Plan. Discuss departmental outreach and other preparation before a public release.

Privacy and municipal open data

Discuss privacy risks relevant to publishing municipal data, including re-identification and the changing technical and policy landscape. Staff presentation on an initial scan of peer-city practices, with particular attention to Seattle's privacy program, privacy review of open datasets, open data policy, and public data portal. Board discussion of practices that may be realistic and appropriate for Cambridge and identification of questions and priorities for additional research. No final privacy-policy action is anticipated at this meeting.
