Okay. Yeah. Wait. Give me a second. I need to pull it up.
Meantime, if anyone else wants to add on. I think the event went really well. All the participants seem to really enjoy it, like, all the snacks and everything and, like, the setup of it all. And I think they all had fun presenting and, like, actually, they were very engaged in the hackathon. Like, when I would check on up on them, they'd be, like, very in their works. So I think it was a good event.
Yeah. And, you know, just to add on to the feed overall feedback that we got from the event. So different teams had different amounts of feedback, but it was all about the same. Some people really appreciated how, like, the rooms are separated so that they had their own private or, like, own space to be able to work and collaborate in a efficient manner. They also love the fact that they can you they can have the freedom to use whatever resources available to them online.
So that means the utilization of, like, AI and, like, all those types of, yeah, AI models because most other hackathons, they were, like, restrict access on that. So having allowing them to have that ability to have more creative freedom of what they're able to create with the prompt was something that they really like. Some things that we need to take into consideration for next year is one thing was having more participants compete because that was something that some teams talked about, and they also would appreciate more more people would know about this event through other forms of promotion because they mainly got the event through social media and whatnot, but they did say that they still heard it, like, word-of-mouth. So sorry. Excuse me.
So that was, like, one, like, one of the things that we need to focus on for next year. But I think the most important thing or, like, the best thing that everyone talked about was the food. They said the the food was extremely, extremely good, and we have, like they they love the like, being able to know that there's, like, a lunch and a dinner for them and having snacks out for them the entire time. So they really, really appreciated that. So that's something all those things are just things that we're getting to take into consideration for next year.
Not an issue, I think. One thing we probably could've just done, like, earlier by breaking out the bricks beforehand, we thought we had to use a printing in here. And then out and then hand them out to the students because we weren't expecting them to, like, ask for it and stuff. I think besides that, everything else went smoothly. We used these couches and those chairs to, like, hold, like, an opening session for them, and then we presented the slides and the stuff. And then they all went off by themselves into, like, the rooms over there. Don't think they had one team I just came in. Everyone else was looking.
Oh, okay. Sorry. One more thing to add on is the team has also really liked, like, how many things there are to do, like, this room specifically. Like, some teams play, like, four in their free time. Some people use the switch. Some people play ping pong. So the fact that we had that up for them, I it kinda made it more of, a stress free, like, environment in terms of a in, a competition setting. So
I was like
Right. I will message her for this,
So for civic engagement, we still have around two things in process like the Q Corner, we're deciding between two dates, either May 1 or May 2, and we're sort of trying to figure out which date works best like regarding like foot traffic and which we'll be able to get the most, people to come to the event. And we're also creating and finalizing our proposal, I believe, to send to miss Gail so that we can so that we can sort of establish the information regarding, like, our welcome package.
Staff reports. Yes. We had the commission interviews the other week. We had some great applicants, and it was it was like splitting hairs in regards to potential of each and every one of the candidates. And they will be announced So we it's a lot more.
Sorry. Came right in time as we're talking about, you know, getting permission to introduce. So congratulations to those and those who are returning. Hope you guys welcome the next candidates open arm, and be prepared for it and move forward. So
next month, May 12 is our last term meeting. We'll meet here. And then May 19 is our city council meeting. It's when all that outgoing commissioners get recognized and then also all the incoming commissioners get recognized. So I know
Yeah. We were just debating about who's gonna bring it up, but I can talk about it. So this Friday on April tenth oh my goodness. So this Friday on April tenth will be the first ever battle of the schools between Santa Clara, Wilcox, and McDonald. And this is like it was like a inspiration from what used to be BBL between Wilcox versus Santa Clara, but now we're including McDonald High School, which is a brand new high school that is part of our was part of our district.
So it will be hosted at Santa Clara's gym from six to eight, and we are expecting a lot of participants overall. Hopefully, a lot of attendees will come as well, but there's a lot of we have we have a lot of great outlook. So if you guys are free at all, just like come pull up to to Bob's
and whatnot. So what is the battle of the schools? Yeah.
What's the
what is that?
So we play or first, we have like five minutes of fame, which is five minutes of dances. And it's like all the all the classes are in each other's dances and whoever wins and they like go against each other. And then there's also a bunch of games like
It's a lot of the games that each of the schools play for their own battle part. Battle of the classes are fantastic. It's like so for example, some of the game at least, like, when I'm playing it, there's there's human table. There's also skin the snake, which is like a a a pretty popular game as well. There's a game of gameplay. Human table, and there's a bunch more games. And basically, how all of these games have been played are the people that are all of the games are people from all grade levels with some exceptions of some other games. And it's gonna be yeah. It's gonna be like a very, very fun event. So and this is like the first year that we were bringing something like this back since VDO ended like pre COVID.
Yeah. We've been trying to bring it back like
every year. But
we finally
Yeah. And we're also glad to have Rich as our main main judge there. So Yeah. No bribing. But yeah.
