Call the meeting to order. Roll call. We have all commissioners present. Any public comment? We have no one from the public. Consent agenda. We'll start with the minutes. Are there any corrections? Police department monthly report.

0:17 – 0:321

Yeah. I've reviewed the report. If you have any questions, feel free to ask, but the numbers from March 25 are very consistent with March 26. I did not see a lot of a lot of changes. Was very consistent.

0:390

Any questions from the chief? Nope. And we'll go to fire department monthly report.

0:50 – 1:092

Yeah. In reviewing their monthly report, kind of similar to PE, pretty much on par with the 2025 numb numbers. Maybe a little increase in in call volume. Other than that, pretty much right on par with what we've had in the past. And there's obviously, if there's any questions, please feel free to ask.

1:151

We fared well during the blizzard and everything?

1:18 – 1:372

Yeah. Yeah. That that the blizzard went well. Kinda worked together with DPW, contacted PD, and kinda came up with a whole game plan for the event. And with that, we didn't have any incidences.

1:38 – 2:062

I just know from listening to our members that say it's almost like a well oiled machine. We ran enough calls and when the calls are out, I know some of them would deviate off their routes to help us get to residences, things like that. So kinda got our emergency contacts in place. We were able to get the shelter open when we needed to, things like that, and everybody was helping everybody. So it it worked out well from all aspects.

2:063

Great job.

2:072

You guys have anything to add?

2:08 – 2:211

Yeah. Not a lot of crashes. I guess probably from the standpoint of cars couldn't go fast enough to get in an accident. Just a lot of vehicles stuck, but very very few crashes from from

2:213

the information I was dealing with. Okay. You wanna speak

2:240

to building inspection and right away? Sure.

2:27 – 2:482

Yeah. As far as building inspection, things are happening in the city. I know, permits, you know, this time of the year, the activity ticks up a little bit. But I guess nothing really that I saw. Cheap laser might have a I don't know if have any other really comment on that.

2:483

No. You're good. Good.

2:50 – 3:072

Just making sure. Just from what I saw, like I said, things are things are moving along, and they've been I'm talking with Scott Kyle, new supervisor, yeah, for a building inspection. He's been reviewing a few more home site that.

3:07 – 3:184

So Ben, what is that Lakeshore FDN under new commercial? Top 10. What is it? Lakeshore FDN.

3:185

That's Lakeshore Community Foundation, basically sorry. That's the No.

3:232

That one, I don't know.

3:24 – 3:565

Off of the lakefront there. Basically, we're we're our West Gardens. West Gardens. Thank you. There's a they're using part of that building. So there's some renovations that are going on over there because the Lakeshore Community Foundation, which is another nonprofit, is working. I don't wanna say closely with West Foundation, but they're kinda in the same general location, and I believe that office alteration is just some work that's being done to kinda give them their privacy or their

3:564

own parts. Dawn of apartments, that's gonna be a new structure?

4:015

That is the brand new one that's going up there. Yeah. The 1.8.

4:074

Okay. You got one that

4:08 – 4:205

had that had the fire. That's the one that we're rebuilding. That's that one. Okay. Yes. I'm sorry. That's the replacement of her. It will be a springboard building. They weren't able to have a grandfather. Sounds good. Thank you.

4:20 – 4:392

I will add with billing inspection also that with Scott Guy, Kyle, taking that promotion to supervisor his housing inspection or housing enforcement position is open, I believe, next week. We're we're looking at interviews to fill that position. Thank

4:400

you. Any questions for either chief or assistant chief? Nope.

4:46 – 4:593

I'll take a motion to approve the consent agenda. So moved. Second. Any discussion? All in favor, say aye. Aye. Opposed? So moved.

5:000

Moving on to police department detective sergeant eligibility list.

5:153

Not not for this department. Okay. Yeah.

5:181

Yep. Requesting, three detectives put on our eligibility list for detective sergeant. It will be Eric Schultz, Jason Deck, and Alex Mabel.

5:300

And I participated in the interviews. I have no problem with all three. Any other questions at all?

5:393

I'll make a motion to accept.

5:411

You want this for six months? It

5:450

doesn't have to be that long, does

5:461

it? No.

5:473

Yeah. Because this is gonna be over and done.

5:502

Yeah. Okay.

5:501

So do we discuss a week or

5:530

We can do a we'll do a month. Do

5:551

a month? Okay.

5:563

Yeah. That's okay with your month. Yeah. There's fine. I'll second.

6:000

Okay. We have a motion to approve the list with the names Eric Schultz, Jason Dink, and Alex Neville for a

6:073

period of one month. Any discussion? All in favor say aye. Aye. Opposed? So moved.

6:230

Then we have eligibility memo training lieutenant.

6:28 – 6:401

Yep. I'm requesting approval for the following list of applicants, for training lieutenant at the police department. It's gonna be Noah Draxler and, officer Jeremy Weber, both patrol officers.

6:430

I again participated in that interview and have no issues.

6:483

I'll take a similar motion from someone.

6:560

We have a motion to approve for one month

6:593

and a second. Any other questions? All in favor, say aye. Aye. Opposed? So move.

7:160

Police Department patrol officers.

7:19 – 7:321

Yeah. The police department's gonna be requesting approval for the following list of applicants for the position of patrol officer Jordan Smith, Jorge Gonzalez, Catherine Ristakin, and Jacob Pike.

7:350

And you had a commissioner with you before that process?

7:39 – 7:564

I did participate in that, and I agree with the chief's assessment. One unique one that I have stood out for me was Jorge Gonzalez. Fluent in Spanish, So that's one thing we lack on this department of Spanish speaking.

7:561

We just had him in today for chief surgery.

7:584

Doing very well. Okay. Great. So but I concur with the chief's assessment on this.

8:040

Okay. This list is a little different. So what time frame are you requesting?

8:081

We're looking for twelve months.

8:203

Motion I take it is to approve the list for a period of twelve months.

8:240

Any discussion? All in favor say aye.

8:283

Aye. Opposed? So moved.

8:39 – 8:520

Fire department, firefighter paramedic eligibility list. And I have not seen that list. Amber, do you know if that's printed off

8:525

for me? Yeah. Should be in your package.

8:533

No. Should in your So

8:554

the man have it? Yeah. Yeah.

8:58 – 9:090

Oh, it's maybe I missed it. I'm looking for the other format. I'm sorry. Thank you, chief.

9:11 – 9:262

Yes. On March, we had held interviews for the position of firefighter, firefighter paramedic, and went through the interviews and would like to the names listed, establish headless for one year.

9:293

And again, have you participated in one full day of interviews. Correct?

9:33 – 9:474

I did. And then I would like to thank Todd for buying lunch that day. It was, you know, it was it was refreshing because I think that's one of the interview days where there was

9:475

qualified people,

9:494

and that was nice to work with even though it was a long day. But I concur with the the list put together, the eligibility of this. So

9:583

My understanding is you did thin out the candidate?

10:024

We did. Mhmm. Okay.

10:030

And I also interviewed on one day. I had a much shorter day,

10:103

that day and had no problems with that candidate.

10:140

So we have a list in front of us.

10:173

And you want one year, six months?

10:212

Yeah. It's, in the paperwork. One year.

10:233

One year. Mhmm. Correct. Any

10:371

further discussion?

10:393

How many are we anticipating?

10:44 – 10:552

Anticipation, the the first round, five. Okay. So five five shortly. It's a long list. Yeah. Five shortly, and then there there could be a couple

10:553

couple more.

10:562

So mhmm.

10:583

Yes. Correct. Any other questions? All in favor say aye. Aye. Opposed? So moved.

11:13 – 12:200

12:352

So moved.

12:363

Second. Who did the first one? Al.

12:44 – 12:580

And Zigman, you were second. A roll call vote. Welder, aye. Zigman? Aye. Vanderbloomen? Aye. Shima? Aye. We're in closed session.

13:08 – 13:190

With item 26 dash zero three one three internal, interview internal applicants for position of assistant fire chief. I need a motion to place on file.

13:192

13:22 – 13:420

All in favor, aye. Aye. Opposed? So moved. Then item 26 dash zero three one four, establish assistant fire chief eligibility list with the names Jason Sweeney, Jeremy Wagner, and Brent McDonald on the list. Need a motion?

13:424

So moved.

13:433

Second. All in any discussion?

13:474

It's gonna be for one month. One month.

13:510

Very good. So our motion is approval of the list with the three names for a

13:553

period of one month. All in favor? Aye.

13:590

Opposed? So moved. A motion for adjournment? Move to adjourn.

14:052

Second.

14:060

All in favor, say aye. Aye. So moved. Thank you.

14:104

I wanna thank you, all for how we interact with you. Thank you for the past five years. So I wanna keep that off there,
