6:05 – 6:240

It is 6:45. We'll call the safety committee um to order. Please can always check with her. This is to consider the bid from exhaust delivery um for an exhaust system.

6:21 – 7:510

Yeah. Good evening. Uh we applied for a federal grant last year through the assistance to firefighters. Lynon, help us out with that. Thanks, Lind. Received two bids. One was from the Clim, the EDI LLC. The other one was Magna Grip. Uh we went out to Crossville Fire Station 2, their new station, Murphy'sboro station one, and Murphy'sboro station 10 and looked at their systems. All of them recommended going with the EDI, the PLO lamp, the cheaper system as well. Worked great. It's locally owned, so the customer service was a lot better. Again, they could call and they would be here within, you know, a couple days versus weeks. But both systems work well. But uh Burkensboro Cross Bill both highly recommend it going with the EDI. That was my recommendation to you as well. Let's pay for it's a grant. We were allowed 109,000 on the grant and the bids came in at 109,859. So $859 we have to come up with. We'll talk about that, but we come up with that. And the total match for the grant was $5,700. It's a 5% match. There's two other things that we got awarded in that grant was smoke and carbon monoxide detectors for the station. We don't have those in yet. And some training pay for firefighter 2 training.

7:52 – 8:150

We took that out of the budget last year if I remember right, didn't we? Yeah, we were asking for that for capital and we took it out, applied for the grant, was lending and we were able to get it. Is this something that we're replacing or upgrading or is it something brand new?

8:13 – 8:410

We have a homemade system in the station now. It's somewhat effective, but it's not NFPA compliant. You still get a lot of of fumes in the station. This new system stays hooked to the truck all the time. Uh when you turn your your battery switch on, it Bluetooth turns the system on. So the exhaust system immediately starts working and it slides on a track till the truck leaves the station. So minimizes the amount of fumes that are in the station.

8:45 – 9:100

Any other questions? I make a motion that we um accept the bid pass to the full board. Second. I have a motion and a second. All in favor? I motion passes. Thank you. Call me. Is there any other thing to come before the safety committee tonight?

9:08 – 11:050

Call me about an issue on the warranties that will hear none. We stand the contract when we enter. Okay. call the water and wastewater committee meeting together.

11:07 – 11:500

You're up yell at me. Oh, well, next time I'll yell at you. Holl Park pump station. Do you need to rebuild on the pump? Right now, we've got three pumps in that station. The station's actually set up for fill pump, but we need one on the shelf just in case something happens. So, this rebuild is by Wascon and they are an authorized growth facility and they're the ones that would have to rebuild that, get the parts for it. But the price for the rebuild is 11,88328. How big is that?

11:49 – 12:330

79. I don't know what happened previous size pump and we've done a lot of work down there. We've had the last couple of weeks some valve change out, some check valves changed out. So, with this actually we've got one on the shelf. We'll put that fourth pump in. This will give us one on the shelf if any of the other ones go out. So, I just had a quick question. Um, I'm sure this doesn't amount to anything, but it did catch my eye that the price listed is for materials and shop labor only. That installation and labor and mileage are not included.

12:32 – 13:160

We install it. We'll pick it up and we'll install it. Oh, well, that takes care of that. And it is in the budget. We have a line item for Palm, so it is budgeted. Thank you. Any other questions for Ricky? Okay, I'll entertain a motion. Motion to approve. You're not on there. Motion to approve. I'll second that. You're not You're not No, you're not. I thought we were in I thought we're in full board meeting. I I'll second. I'm on. Yeah, we Who? Rachel. Okay. Thank you. All right. All in favor say I.

13:15 – 13:270

Good evening. Uh, just wanted to mention, I always forget to mention the Park Theater, so I apologize, but I wanted to talk about this weekend, Beetlejuice Jr. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Uh the next few weeks, if you've not checked checked the schedule, they are jam-packed. So, Joe and Ashley are doing a phenomenal job over there. They're very busy. Uh we hope we're hosting the chamber event this Friday at the Miller Center. Uh we are also doing uh our spring sports uh drafts and selecting coaches and all that this week. So, that's going to start uh taking place at the ball fields in Pistol Park here in the next two weeks or so. So, we're really excited about that. Things are going really good at the park. Uh we did hire a a new uh grounds maintenance guy. His name's Brady Powers. He's not here tonight, but he's our third addition to that um urban forestry uh group that we have. So, we now have a full staff back with with that. So, we're really excited to have him. We just started this week. So, thank you.

24:10 – 24:530

Thank you, Justin. Just an update on the water plant. If you hadn't been over and seen, we have a bottom floor now. Uh, and the walls are up. They're starting to put scaffolding up for the first floor. Filters, they're still working on the filter side of it. Electricians are running conduit for all the electrical. Got some electrical up by by the basin. got a hodgepodge of dirt sitting around Mount Wharton just keeps growing every day. So, but if you get the time to come behind, come by. I'll take you on see what's going on. Appreciate it. Thanks, sir. Thank you.

24:50 – 25:240

Great. Update you on our basketball game we had on the 14th with the special games. Unfortunately, we lost, but it's 78-2. So, we did score. That's exciting. Um, also our teen academy, they started last night. We've got 22 participants, so it's going to it's pretty goodized class. And they're all quiet at first, but they'll be chatty by the end of it. They'll be good class. Thank you. Thank you, sheep.

25:25 – 26:520

I'll go up there, I guess. Uh, we got a letter today finding out that our animal control has received state lensure for the first time. Our facility has been licensed by the state and certified. On top of that, Keith Borne, our animal control officer, has been DEA certif. So, he's able to now purchase medication straight from the distributor rather than through a third party. should end up saving the city money in the long run. Uh the T dot projects are coming along. If you go down intersections, you'll see they'll be pouring the pads for the foundations for all the streets. And next week they'll be spot digging in the road looking for gas lines and other things because they will be jack and boring under the road to run all of our conduit for our new electrical. I would also like to shout out a staff member that's not in my department and Mr. Steven Titzworth. He's pretty new, not new, but he's his role is new. He's doing his role and he has been excellent to work with. He communicates well with public works about when we need to come out and do patchwork on the roads, when we had to do sight inspections on all of our conflicts for our poles. Steven was there. Great guy to work with. I think that's a testament to Ricky Martin and how he runs his department. So, that's about all I got.

26:490

Thank you, sir.

26:52 – 27:410

I I would like to recognize Ricky Morton while we're talking about him. Back a month or so ago whenever we're I was trying to convince people to remodel the Bell Street building for the police department, I called Ricky and I said, "Give me an honest answer. How badly do you need that entire building for storage? I not for storage, but for your use and what you're using it for. He said, "Honest answer. We could do without the amount that's proposed for the police department." And not not his first choice, obviously. I mean, of course, they wanted it, but he he was very honest with me and I really appreciated that that you made that offer. And your comment to me was whatever is best for the city and and and I just I thank you for that that honest answer. I really appreciate it.

27:420

Mr. Ming, do you have anything? I do not. Mr. Purle? No. All right. If there's nothing else for the board, we'll stand a journ. Thank you.
