Okay. Good evening. So as always, thank you to the board for always supporting the center. You know, we couldn't do it without all of you. And since our last meeting, we've had many exciting activities, as some of you know. We Our regular activities have continued. Our farmers' market, unfortunately, is not every week. It's pretty much monthly now, but it still continues. We're able to help probably about 70 members, when we have it. It's actually gonna be tomorrow, so that's exciting. We have Zumba, Stretch and Balance, and Line Dancing. And we've been very fortunate. The Slowburn Theatre has come to visit us about twice over the past six months. They come, do a workshop with our members. It's fun.
They teach a dance, and the seniors repeat the dance, and they sing. We had the bodyguard, the the no Kevin Costner, unfortunately, but they did come. In conjunction with Parks and Rec, March was senior games, and that was a lot of fun. And also, we've been very lucky that, coast to coast legal aid has come. They've done a advanced directives clinic with our clients. They were there today. They do durable power of attorney, health care surrogate and living will, and that's pro bono to our clients. That's been a positive for us. On April 25, we had a volunteer appreciation luncheon. May 22 was very fun.
The students of Margate Elementary School came and they played Wii Bowling with our members. That was a lot of fun. We tried something new this year for Mother's Day. We had a tea party, and that was a lot of fun as well. Father's Day barbecue and the domino tournament was last week.
And some upcoming events on July 3, the center we're gonna the center's choir is gonna sing some patriotic song, so that should be fun. July 15, crazy hat day in our ice cream social, and August 22 is the big one, Hawaiian Day. So that's good. September 5, the grandparents day talent show, and then September 22 is fall prevention week. We have health talks and things scheduled for the week, and then we're gonna get into the end of the year with big bingo and the different end of the year activities.
But we stay busy. Knock on wood, our funding is right now stable. We're just hoping that's gonna continue. And that's us. We're doing well, so good. Good for us. And thank you again for everybody's support. We couldn't do it without all you you all, so thank you.
Thank you. In that case, next, we will have board member comments. Board member Rosamos.
Keep up the good work, have a great summer.
Thank you. Board member Kajal.
I love going to your events. It they're so amazing To see these seniors up and dancing, to see them smiling, to see them having feeling as though they're in a community, you do an amazing job.
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
Board member Simone. And I believe not next Wednesday, but on the, June 25. Oh, forgot to
say that the health fair.
The health fair is coming from nine Yes. Sorry. From nine to one. 09:30. Oh, 09:30. 09:30 to one next Wednesday.
Oh, can I just add one more thing? There's on June on June 30, there's a caregiver's conference, and I believe I gave the information to Jared to post on the website. It's a disaster preparedness caregiver's conference. It is not at our center. It's in Davie, and I can get you guys the information. Just remembered you just reminded me. It's actually put on by the Aging Disability Resource Center. So that's a good one. JR has the information, and I apologize I didn't bring it, but that's a good one.
I'll be volunteering at that event.
Yes. It's on our we are on a committee. Commissioner Cagiano and I are on a committee for that one. So yes. Sorry. Didn't mean didn't mean to you. Yeah.
So, Terry, thank you for everything you do. You run do a great job. Thank the staff. They are absolutely amazing. The seniors love going to the center. They look forward to it, and it's their home away from home, which is a great thing. Thank you. Thank you. Board member Arceario.
I wish you a happy summer.
Thank
you. I think everyone else covered everything, but we appreciate everything that you do for the community.
Thank you very much.
And as I like to remind people, you can get old without growing old. Because let me tell you, they got some 90 year olds there that would put us all to shame. They stand straighter than we do. They're all they dance better than we do, and they are absolutely amazing. So people should come and visit the senior center, especially on those Fridays where they have the special events. I know that when the Hawaiian dancers come and they make the people from what's the
restaurant that he's
Maikai. Maikai. They make them look bad. That's how good these people are. And then, of course, they get the rest of the resident the rest of the people there to join in, but it's it's always a pleasure to go over there. It puts a smile on everyone's face.
Thank
you. Oh, thank you again. And any other comments? Hearing none, this meeting is adjourned. A few minutes before we start the other and, Terry, we have stuff signed for you.
