Any other foreign line subsidiaries?

0:05 – 0:171

Nope. It is all PRB at this point. They may pop on. Okay. Alright.

0:17 – 0:442

Let's get started. We'll call the meeting to order. Doesn't look like we have any public room or online, so, we just skip the public comment section. Great to business. First item approval of minutes from the 04/09/2026 meeting. Meetings were meeting notes were included in the packet. Any discussion on notes? Anybody want to make a motion to approve the minutes from last meeting?

0:450

I move that we approve the minutes from the, 04/09/2026 meeting.

0:53 – 1:042

I'll second. Alright. I believe we have the vote on that. So Yeah. All in favor? Aye. Aye. Alright.

1:041

Jasmine? Jasmine is gone again. She must have got cut off. Okay.

1:122

Court remains. We'll call it a unanimous approval.

1:153

I'll say five to zero. Mine is Jacob. He was not here last time.

1:202

I was not here. Oh,

1:223

so you didn't follow okay.

1:240

Surprised that's Kate.

1:251

That's what you were saying.

1:292

So next item we've got is the, updatement at Quality Center. Yep.

1:343

So the presentation is behind me.

1:37 – 1:521

And one of the, disadvantages, Let me just share it. Wow. So people online can see it. Oh, stop it. Okay. Hold on. Bear with me.

1:583

You're sharing?

2:011

Yeah. But it doesn't show it on here. It's not sharing the right one. There you go. Can you see the presentation online?

2:124

I can see it. Excellent.

2:173

Next slide, please. Maybe.

2:47 – 3:181

can see it online. I'm just having a problem. It doesn't wanna

3:193

You want me to share my screen?

3:21 – 3:511

You might have to. You might have to. They can see it online, but it's not adjust it's not going forward. K. Yes, please. K. You can unshare it if you need to. Okay. So share that one. That might be the problem.

3:563

Doesn't matter. Okay.

4:162

There he goes.

4:171

Okay. Thank you. Sorry about that.

4:203

Okay. Next time. Okay.

4:221

I just wanna get through

4:23 – 4:573

So the main pool replaster project started on time, which was 03/02/2026. As you can see from the pictures below, the crews have removed the old plaster and have taken out the tiles that were sitting on the floor of the pool and on the edge of the pool. And those two pictures kinda show what it looked like with just the plaster removed and then with all of the tiles removed. Next slide. Luckily, my oh, what I'm saying.

4:57 – 5:313

I'm sorry. Some minor issues, have been found, and they are gonna be addressed. An example of that is this little chunk, of concrete into of concrete missing from the edge of the pool along the gutter side. There are Luckily, no major issues have been found with foundation. That is the biggest news, that we have and the biggest excuse me.

5:32 – 5:533

And the biggest concern that we had bringing up the plaster. But long story short, super good news. The contractor did not find any issues, and everything is well. In April, crews started laying new tile. This is a lengthy process because it is all done by hand.

5:53 – 6:323

Excellent. And here are some pictures of those workers laying down that tile. So we have black lane lines for long course, and then we'll have the blue dotted short course lines throughout the pool. And the good news is that even with this work, which is done by hand, we are on schedule. Now for the fun part, pinion pool. So as you guys know, we secure well, before I go too far, any questions about Maple? Oh,

6:332

just, FYI, the the it's not showing. I'm just seeing the desktop of the computer online.

6:454

Yeah. I was gonna mention that.

6:462

But Sorry. I I mean, I've got it. I I'm looking at it on on a on a on a PDF on the other screen on my computer, but if there's somebody else at home who doesn't

6:554

have that handy. I'm I'm okay without it. It's good. I can just listen to the words.

7:022

Yes. Catherine, your soothing voice telling us about the pool being done on time is very satisfying.

7:113

I'm sharing something. Oh, there it goes. You

7:132

just make sure. Great. Thank you. Okay.

7:163

Alright.

7:161

Sorry about that. Okay. One too many.

7:20 – 7:513

So from the front part, Penaeon Pool. So as you guys know, we secured a lease with the Penaeon Pool property owner in March 2026. And since then, we have been working up to clean up the property to and review review the equipment, the computer, make sure everything's operational, and get it started. So the pictures below are kinda what hanging on the pool looked like as we took it over. And, again, these were in March, so it's still kinda cold.

7:52 – 8:303

Next slide. So since March, what the heck have we been doing? So we have updated all the locks to the to the facility. And the reason that we did that is because there was about fifty years of keys floating around. Lock's never been changed. Figured we should probably secure that in some fashion. We cleaned and organized all the storage areas. We cleaned and organized the front office area. And I'll just add to that. We when I say cleaned, we cleaned. We have used three roll off dumpsters. We have filled them, and

8:301

we have emptied them. Yeah.

8:35 – 9:023

We have cleaned the pool. There were there was two inches of buck on the bottom of the pool. We didn't find a lot of dead anythings except for one rat. We replaced the DGBA anti entrapment drain covers. We removed the debris and brush from the property, and then we were able to fill the pool in mid April.

9:04 – 9:423

We have met with LAFD for code compliance, and we have addressed all their issues regarding that. And we have had preliminary at this at this time of this presentation, we had a preliminary state inspection for operation. Makes sense. So what are the issues that we have found? Well, we found a few guesstims. That resulted in a red tag. That was fun. To get that red tag removed, it required a state inspection before resuming. We got that last week. Excuse me.

9:44 – 10:133

We got that green tag in last week, so we've been able to move forward. The boiler and water heater needed some repairs. We needed some new filters. We knee we needed to add handicap access into the facility. As it stood, when we took over, there was only a couple handicap spots to park, but the facility itself was not handicap accessible.

10:14 – 10:463

So we have fixed that into the facility, and we have, addressed that concern into the water. So we have a Hydralift now at Panion Pool. We have an actual emergency exit. Before, it was through the garage, which was full of stuff, not quite a massive egress spot. And we've had a few various mechanical issues. Everything that we have everything on this list we have worked through. Next slide. Sure.

10:465

Maybe.

10:511

Oh, come off. You just get to look at the list a little bit longer. Well.

11:04 – 11:152

Repairs, like, to the boiler and the heat and the water. Do you have like, does the county have to repair those costs? Yeah. So if they can get come off the lease. I mean, those big, big costs. Yeah.

11:163

So, like, our lease is a dollar. So any repairs or improvements are on us.

11:252

It's on a different display.

11:26 – 11:593

That was the beauty of I probably lost this lease. The landowner, the property owner didn't care if he improved things, like, things or whatever else. So it is at our discretion to to improve the property to get it operational, and that was our goal. I think we'll to stop. If we didn't if we decided that it was fruitless and we weren't going to, we could've easily walked away. But we've worked we have worked through all those issues. So how does it look like now? What do you guys think? Better or worse? Yeah.

12:02 – 12:443

So, obviously, we have removed most of the brush, and we've we have trimmed back trees. We've graded a few things to make it a little bit easier for parking. That's one of our that's our last roll off dumpster that we have right there. And then we have added, with the help of traffic and streets, some actual regulated handicap spots, and that's what the blue on the ground is. And we will have actual seven foot handicap signs that are in compliance, before we open to the public.

12:443

Next. So how's it look now?

12:490

Yeah. Great.

12:51 – 13:053

We're pretty proud of that. That that pool was several different colors between now between March and now. And we had we did a very major happy dance once we could see the bottom of that

13:054

pool. Yeah.

13:06 – 13:393

Yeah. That's cool. So yeah. So next slide. So what's next? We needed a state gas inspection. We passed that last week. We needed a state inspection for operation. We passed that. And we confirmed that the start the boiler started up, and we did that. All greens. Next. Now we open Memorial Day weekend. Cool. Saturday, May 23, 9AM.

13:42 – 14:133

And so our schedule for Kenyon Park Pool will be Monday through Friday, seven to seven, and then Saturdays, nine to five. There will be no lap swimming on Saturdays, only during the week. And, also, beginning that Saturday that we open, only Pengyang Pool will be open. We will close the Leisure Lagoon because we currently have a lifeguard shortage.

14:132

I was gonna ask, so the lifeguard from there will be Yes. Okay.

14:16 – 14:433

Yes. All the lifeguards will be all the staff that's running Penaon Pool is Los Angeles County staff. Yep. And because of the lifeguard shortage, we're not able to do both. So we decided to do Pena on pool only on Saturdays because we can also do an additional five hours on Saturday versus the living, which is only open curtain for three hours. Next. Any questions?

14:460

So, bladder, the weekday hours were seven to seven. Mhmm. Is that gonna be some lane swimming and some open

14:570

To the public?

14:583

Lane swimming will be from seven to nine in the morning. The swim teams get from nine to eleven, and then it opens for public swim.

15:081

Cool. Mhmm.

15:093

And then lane swim again from six to seven.

15:202

Just curious. Like, pace structure, is it the same as, like, a lot of exam rooms? Exactly the same.

15:25 – 15:443

So you don't need a membership to go to Ping An Pool as previously or all the other outdoor pools. You can walk in, pay a day rate. You can buy a 10 punch pass just like you could if they're cotter sensitive. It's on the structure. There we go. We just need to reindependent and escape it. Good.

15:472

Thank you. That's great news. Yeah.

15:493

Yes. Anybody online?

15:572

I I also think it's great news.

16:04 – 16:392

Mhmm. Right. Like I said, we've got this board plan quarterly discussion. Hope everybody had a chance to look at the plan. We formally approved it. It was November. And so, you know, looking through it, I think most items remain relevant. Obviously, we've made some progress, in a few of these things. Like, we're working through, made some progress through arenas and flight, home space, trails, plans and flights, or based on recreation plans and flights. So probably good progress.

16:40 – 16:512

Any. Any any needed updates or any concerns of any time?

16:53 – 17:180

Not a concern. Just to point out that, Wendy Parker, is working with, Bolton's based work with the group on the adopt plan. That still is moving forward. So thank you for working on that. Appreciate it. So that's also continuing to move forward. So the major departments on getting that up in the front. Eric's involved in that also.

17:252

Any discussion edits?

17:332

will kind of make a plug of a reminder. One of our commitments on alert plans, we have at least one member attending each summit concert series event. And there's three or more

17:420

of us we have to avoid each other.

17:442

So, other than that, that's kicking off when the first concert.

17:495

Next week.

17:502

Yeah. Are

17:520

you gonna worry about doing a sign up like you did a couple of years ago or just show up and we can have a?

17:582

If you

17:593

guys are like me, do a sign up at home.

18:01 – 18:282

It's gonna be fine. Otherwise Mhmm. If there's enough people there, we don't listen to each other. K. Working through stuff. It's still accurate. Although it wouldn't be a bad idea for future, denied them to talk about group assignments and update that. No. We should we'll do that next, from the. So okay.

18:28 – 19:022

I don't think we need to do anything else on that. So, yeah, it's exciting. We'll have to find a about progress. For, for chairman's report, again, I think we've the work plan is a good highlight of that. You have tons of progress. Bark ribbon cuttings weeks ago. That was cool. So all good. Speaking of, let's go to staff report.

19:043

Do you you want me to go first, Wendy, or are you gonna go first?

19:091

Okay. So I'll just sit

19:10 – 19:335

in the chair because there's nothing. There's never a podium or anything. So I'll just so, yes, we did have the ribbon cuttings. So if we guys have not been in them to look at 37th Street Playground and also of Kenyon Club, they're just fantastic playgrounds. And we stopped by 37th earlier today.

19:33 – 20:015

There's quite a few kids and parents and really, really comfortable seeing everybody already so quickly be drawn to all the new play elements. And so that ribbon cutting was on May 5, and we had school kiddos for Pena and also Aspen at both locations, which made it really cool. Yeah. That was fun. All all of the adults are trying not to get get run over as the ribbon was cut, and all the kids went screaming, running to jump on all to all the new plate elements.

20:01 – 20:195

So that that was kinda fun. But but yeah. So that's two really big projects that's been completed. Now we do have a couple of things that we're tidying up, which is at 37th. We're adding additional retaining wall and then putting a new fence up on that hanging side.

20:19 – 20:595

So as we did our, we noticed that some of our mulch was already pushing out through the fence line. So quickly, we're gonna take care of that pretty quickly. And then also at Penon, the new fence will start being constructed next week that run right across the parking lot so that we're gonna keep kiddos safe as they're in the play area. So two really big ones that, you know, Manny did a fantastic job of managing and working with LA Landscape and getting through all the meetings we had to get through. So that's you put those two playgrounds together along with the East Basketball Court renovation and then also North Mesa with the new tennis court and the board pickleball.

20:59 – 21:375

We've we've completed some substantial projects in the last couple of years. So I know the community's been pretty happy to see all that, especially the pickleball players. I still get at least one email Read this. From the pickleball folks just talking about how excited they are to have that. So that's that's been a huge one. So we do have a couple of things coming up. Unfortunately, I don't have an update on Bruhler Arena. Hopefully, I'll have something for you at the next meeting. I did reach out to our public works group just to get a summary of where we're at on that project because I know that will be kicking off soon. It won't be a grandstand for this year's rodeo, but we have already secured the bleachers like we've done the last couple of years.

21:37 – 22:225

So those will be delivered. Same company. So, you know, kinda know the MO and everything we have to do for that. So no issues there. Pines, we're now working on phase one of that project. So as you guys recall, it's been close to two years as we started the repeal and replace the ordinance, and then we went straight into the fee structure with council and had the fee structure updated to to in 2025, that kicked off as far as a new fee structure. And then we hired Sloan Group and to come in and do the master plan, which was finished with Green Dot Council as well. So now we're rolling into phase one. So phase one, we'll hopefully get kicked off pretty soon. It'll be a task order as well.

22:22 – 22:505

So it'd be a current contractor that the county has on call. And if that would help make us move a little bit quicker, I'm just waiting on Public Works to kinda give us a thumbs up if he's gonna be selected for that and and kinda get moving forward on that one. So that phase one will be the new installation with the two columbariums that we currently have at the shop. And I know that's a question by many. We are sold out on columbarium, so that's the one thing we cannot purchase right now.

22:50 – 23:185

We only have in grow burials for urns and casket burials at this time. So the urns are are, you know, really important for that columbarium to get to an end of place. So to do that, maybe the scattering garden, the memorial wall, and just a little bit more on that first phase one. So we look forward to getting that kicked off and getting our community meetings going and get that designed and then the construction documents going and then out to bid. So that's really, really exciting.

23:18 – 24:005

Probably very exciting for me and Annie back there because it's kinda neat when you start that project at the very beginning, and you're kinda seeing it all the way through for through all the steps and everything that had to be accomplished for that. And, yeah, it's it's pretty cool. So, let's see what else. We have we'll get you that update on Brewer. North Mesa picnic master plan is still moving along. We have a meeting today on that. Our next community meeting will be June 10. So that is coming up. And then our sports field renovation, the three year plan, they are back, and they are on Bun Ryan. So they're leveling that build and getting things ready and then also working on repairs to Sperio.

24:01 – 24:365

So, unfortunately, we won't have our fourth of July event on Sperio build. It still will be in White Rock. We're just gonna change that footprint of what it looks like. I don't anticipate the contractor being done in time for that amount of traffic to be on Spirio with all the repairs that need to be made as far as irrigation, going in a lot of seams and and gaps where the saw didn't quite take and play nice with each other and and leveling out some areas that are issue right now. So we we still have a ways to go on Spirio. That's really all I have. So we don't have any questions?

24:382

Do we have an ETA on Superior by chance?

24:41 – 25:085

I'm hoping by the mid July, late July. Yeah. So once they're completed with it, that's what the time frame is, I'm thinking, is gonna be. Unfortunately, I don't have a schedule from the contractor. I did ask any of them today for them to provide us some work schedule with timelines. So, hopefully, we'll get that by tomorrow or Monday at the latest so we can kinda see what else going on. I I don't anticipate spherio opening probably until early fall.

25:08 – 25:242

Just because break stalkers start kicking off again, all of the sports kicking off again. And if we're not gonna have that field another year essentially, what does that look like? Yeah. Yeah. It'll look like effort on North too.

25:245

It does. It does. It fits more strain on North Mesa and also Garrett Jones. Yep. Yep.

25:29 – 25:430

Yeah. I've noticed we've got more kids over at the Western area. I just think both competitive teams and recreation league. Both are over there pretty often pretty much every night

25:432

of the week.

25:430

Yeah. Which is fine. That's a really nice field, and I'm glad it can get introduced to. Yeah. Yeah. Really up again.

25:525

Yeah. They've done a good job. The groups have. We're really working together to make sure that everybody has a place to play and practice. So it's it's been So I

25:590

had to say it is. That's been complaining about not being able to get a field space or anything?

26:05 – 26:375

No. I think for the most part, they've worked everything out. So some that may have, you know, two or three days a week maybe cut back to two instead of the three and allow someone else to get on, or they change their times to where they do alternate their schedules a little bit. So and I think some even did some practices on Saturdays and Sundays, which have not been done in the past. So so, yeah, they made it work. And those are not ideal, but if we if we go this road again, then I I look to the groups to do the same thing just so I can make sure that everyone can play.

26:412

North Mesa project, I know it's in the very, very early stages. Any updates on that?

26:475

On the on the, recreation master plan? Yeah. Catherine, what are we at on that? That's what

26:543

I'm saying. Phase one got approved by chairman council for budget. Yep. That's as far as we're at.

26:585

That's what

26:593

okay. So we gotta wait till the school year's part.

27:022

Oh, so it'll be Yeah.

27:035

For the first fiscal. Okay. Okay.

27:052

Got it.

27:053

Fiscal year twenty seventh.

27:062

RFP, all that other stuff. Normal. Yeah.

27:105

Cool. Yeah. So that's

27:102

something I gave to do. And are you all doing the is there a trails kind of what's would you call it the on call trails contractor? Mhmm. That was last 15.

27:215

Yeah. He has Arbor Care again.

27:230

Oh, yeah. He's doing He did.

27:24 – 27:525

Right now. I just saw and I I I didn't go through the whole thing real well, but I just saw the doc we saw earlier today. So I'll look at that a little bit more in detail. But, yeah, he he does does have some assignments for them to go with and make some repairs. K. So I'll definitely get all that put together and report out next month as well. And then, of course, Mandy, who's reminding me of the Rose Garden. If you haven't seen Rose Garden fence, it's done. Yep. They've gotta make a few more tweaks, and then we'll we'll pretty much beat a 100%.

27:52 – 28:265

They're gonna add some smaller handles for someone who's got mobility issues or in a wheelchair, so they'll be able to open the gates a little bit easier. And then they just have some touch up painting and do an adjustment, a little bit more of an adjustment on the spring loading mechanism so the gate will shut up. And then the ribbon cutting for that is scheduled for May 22. I don't recall. Do you know the what time? Yeah. But we'll we'll get that emailed out to you, but I do know it's May 22. I wanna say afternoon, like, ish, something. Yeah. We'll confirm.

28:26 – 28:372

Okay. I think it's technically called Woodland Trail, the section behind state partitions for construction. Yes. Is that being under main close probably for It will. A year or two?

28:375

Probably a year at least. All that construction's going on. Yeah.

28:412

Gotcha.

28:425

2PM. It is 2PM on the ribbon head.

28:452

The signs for that, you know, they put the fence up within two days, the signs were down or gone or somebody did not. Yeah.

28:525

It's a constant battle.

28:542

Yeah. Got it. As

28:56 – 29:185

you know, yeah, speaking the signage out. So I know there was a little bit a bit of a disconnect on the PSA going out for that project before some of the fencing and things went up and before Eric was called to ask to go put signs out. So we did ask for a copy of that PSA so we could get him on the website, and and he could email it out and put it on social media to let people be aware of that that little stretch.

29:182

Yeah. It's a super easy Yeah. Ride ride.

29:225

Yeah. It's substantive.

29:232

K. I had a couple other questions, but I think you'll cover them probably, Seth. K. Go ahead.

29:32 – 29:553

So you guys already got an aquatic center update on. Think I have to go over that again. I have for the golf course, all 18 holes are open, and all the warranty work is complete. And everybody's out there having a blast. Everybody seems to be enjoying the golf course.

29:55 – 30:183

We do have some temporary four temporary teas and greens out there, to allow for Procterone to grow in, and those are coming in pretty well. Also, the golf course has been getting some repairs, now that since the restaurant HVAC system. Yes. Thank you.

30:181

You're welcome.

30:19 – 30:433

Since we replaced the HVAC system, on it, we we've had some couple closures and whatnot, but the HVAC system is in. It is working. We also updated section of the golf course, clubhouse. Like, in fact, they got new floors, new countertops, and a fresh coat of paint. So I think they finished most of it. I think still still working on the community

30:43 – 31:041

Nope. The community room is, complete. Oh, good. And the floor is in what I call the sunroom, but the backroom with all the Yeah. Have all been repolished. The kitchen's been completely cleaned. Yes. And

31:05 – 31:163

I believe the lease has been signed and is complete, and we anticipate nineteenth hold to start occupying that space sometime in June.

31:18 – 31:441

So they right now are under a temporary license agreement to be able to occupy the space for the month of May Oh. And start getting stuff ordered and and doing their thing. Their lease agreement has been signed. It is effective June 1, but there's still a lot that has to be done with the Department of Health getting in there. And the alcohol permit.

31:45 – 32:091

They've gotta get to ABC, and it takes four to six weeks for them to do a transfer of the alcohol permit starting June 1. So we're they're hoping we're hoping that the ABC will just kind of help expedite it so we can get the alcohol permit in there. But they're still out in front of people, when they can't. And they

32:09 – 32:303

have been out at the tournaments. At the one tournament that we've had so far, they were out driving the dubbers cart, which hasn't been driven in years, giving away food. So they were out there promoting to to the golf course community during the tournament. Like, here. We're here. We're gonna we're gonna be here. So and I think they plan on being out there out there again this weekend for the golf tournament. That's fine.

32:301

It gives me that, which is cool.

32:35 – 33:163

We are a NRPA gold medalist finalist again, for this year. That, the announcement of the grand plaque will be again in August year. So we, if you didn't see us in about out and about last week, we were here we were in town doing some filming, capturing some shots, because we have to submit a video with our to match our application to kinda put imagery to the application that we submitted. So we're working on that again. So that's pretty exciting. We'll have another banner for our

33:181

coming soon. It'll actually be the September, not August.

33:233

Did I say August?

33:241

I'm sorry. It doesn't happen. September. It is September.

33:28 – 34:073

September. Oh my goodness. It's time to go to bed. Yes. September. They'll make that announcement after the NRPA comforts. Otherwise, summer concerts starts next week. Biggest change from last year to this year is that the concerts will run from 06:30 to 09:30. So we pushed it back a half hour, and that was a result of of the survey responses that we ran last year. We ran a survey last year during the summer concert series, and that was the big input that we got from them.

34:08 – 34:233

And, also, the lineup for this year was mainly driven from survey results from last year as well. A lot of the the bands that we have lined up for this year were comments from residents.

34:23 – 34:563

wow. I didn't pick them out earlier. They were comments from residents. And we have just about every single genre that you can think of. We even have our first reggae band. That'll be neat. We tried to get something that appeals to the younger crowd, so we have a pink tribute band, which would be cool. So yep. And that will run through August 28. Fourth of July is on track.

34:57 – 35:343

We will have matchbox twenty two as the main headliner for that. And as Wendy mentioned, we will not be on Spurrier Field. We will be utilizing Dara Jones and the baseball and softball fields at North Mesa. And when I say baseball and softball fields, it's gonna be the Southern baseball and softball fields of Overland Park. Because we're having to change the orientation as to where we stick the fireworks and the drones, we're not gonna have any public access on the North Side Of Spirit on the North Side Of Overlook Park.

35:34 – 35:583

It's gonna be closed off completely because we do have to maintain people free zone for all that. As of right now, you guys know we are in a stage one fire restriction. That does not affect fireworks as of right now. But if we do go into a stage two, then there goes the fireworks. So we will be keeping an eye on that.

36:012

County will follow Santa Fe National Forest like they have in the past. Mhmm.

36:05 – 36:203

Yeah. I am in constant communication with fire marshal and fire department as they make that call. So, yeah, they will they'll keep me informed if anything changes. And

36:231

I think that's all I have at the moment.

36:253

Staff questions. Take your questions.

36:29 – 36:410

When it comes to technical one, on the golf course, they're transferring a liquor license over to, Bathtub Row, or is that a county license? Or where

36:423

So we county license for the entire property.

36:45 – 37:053

So when Cottonwood on the Greens left, we put that license on hold. And now we have to add in the nineteenth hold under under our liquor license. And that's the whole process that they're Okay. That Noda is mentioning. We have to wait for that process

37:063

To run its course.

37:092

K. Hello? Catherine?

37:113

Yes, George.

37:14 – 37:322

Yeah. I have a question. I just I had been talking with the the Y is working to help support the the senior center when they're gonna go through their closure for stuff. And someone had mentioned something about the community room out at the golf course restaurant possibly being used for some of that. Is that is that correct, or was that just something bouncing around?

37:333

It was something bounced around. I believe they have found the senior center some other permanent space to utilize, which I believe is Fuller Lodge.

37:442

Which will be interesting because that's a heavily used building. I have no idea how that's gonna work. But, okay.

37:491

They're working on logistics.

37:522

Okay. So so so they won't be using the the space out of the golf course?

37:563

No, sir. Okay.

37:572

Cool. Thanks. Mhmm.

38:00 – 38:191

Although they could end up using the community room for some of the stuff that the seniors may need, or not the seniors, that the people being relocated out of Fuller Lodge may end up also going to the community room if needed. Simple. Yeah. It's still up in the air, though.

38:192

Okay. Cool. Thank you. Ice rink shade structure. Also, I think we heard the RFP was out from valid, you know, developments on that.

38:293

The RFP is still in draft. It's it has not been published. It's still in. Yeah.

38:37 – 38:482

East Park remodel. So what do you call that? Pick a ball with that. All the concrete work out there. Is that all done? Yes. Park. Yes. That's

38:485

basketball court.

38:493

That's basketball court. Yes. That was completed in October. Yeah. Yeah. Mhmm.

38:571

We had Yeah. We've stopped since then. Yeah. Time's driving. Stomach.

39:022

Alright. Any other questions, comments?

39:061

Anybody else online that might have a question? No?

39:132

Thank you. Work

39:17 – 40:020

group and task scores update. There. They did not give me any reports for, submission. I know that, the bike park, Northview Group, has been communicating Corey, about the process to try and keep the bike park page one as the Prophamation of Reservation Plan moving forward and volunteering to help with whatever they can as far as grants and things like that. They're they have nonprofits that can try and apply for, grants also as a health care. And so they're trying to coordinate for stat. So that's kind of what they're working on. But, they don't have the full molar floor, so I'll get something from them soon, I'm sure.

40:02 – 40:422

K. Let's talk let's talk work groups that are next at gin for our next agenda for for next meeting and just for for those who, you know, the, you know, the the work groups are no longer existing in perpetuity. We have to task them with specific things, and they have specific things to work on. And so then those would flow back to us for review and the recommendation, counselor, staff, or whoever. So, yeah, we just wanna make sure we kinda keep from a protocol point of view. We wanna make sure that they're working that stuff through through the Parks and Recording board. Yeah. Okay. Alright. We'll talk about that next week.

40:42 – 41:222

Think about things like I mean, if there's projects that we can either kinda keep the existing groups at the equestrian livestock working group and the trail open space and trails group, those tend to I said they don't exist in in perpetuity. They they kind of do because the same folks, they've reacted and motivated. But it's kind of our role to make sure that they're working on things that we tasked them with and not, like, creating their own projects. So think about that for next for the next meeting, and we'll kinda go through some ideas for there for updating those. Alright. On the council communications. Councilor Cole, anything for us?

41:244

Sorry. Just trying to unmute. Well,

41:285

we did have

41:29 – 42:104

the budget hearings since our the last PRB meeting. And just to clarify on the North Mesa Bike Park or phase 1, it's mostly the bike park that was talked about. There was 500 k in in the FY twenty seven budget, but there was a there was a million dollars just kinda sitting out there in case it was needed somewhere, and council voted to move it to the North Mesa, Park to kind of encourage, more progress on that. So, just an FYI on that. So there's about 1,500,000.

42:10 – 42:404

Don't know how much of that will actually get spent, because they've gotta get, the design and and other things out, which tend to take a a little while. But, it it definitely was important to most of the council members. I did vote against it just because I'm one of those that doesn't wanna just dedicate an extra $1,000,000 unless we know we're gonna be able to spend it. But, we'll see what happens. If, if they don't get enough progress, then that million dollars will come back and go to another project anyway.

42:42 – 43:354

There there's additional money, for FY '28 and on, to continue to make progress on the plan up there. That's the one highlight that I can remember that y'all might be interested in from the budget meetings. The next meeting we have was May 5, and the deputy laboratory director for operations came and gave a kind of a status of what's going on at the lab. You probably heard that pit production is accelerating. It's mostly because Savannah River Site hasn't and probably won't be able to do any pits in for some period of time, and therefore, the laboratory is getting a lot of federal priority as well as attention from the federal government.

43:35 – 44:144

Did mention that they were gonna they're expecting to hire about a thousand workers this year, but only about 800 of those are are only about 200 of those are new positions. They anticipate about 800 hires to address attrition and then talked about other great things that the lab's doing. There were some questions about, you know, what about basic science? What's happening with science? And the comment was made that science still underpins everything they do, but that was about the extent of the comment or the response to that question.

44:17 – 44:554

Let's see what else might you wanna know. We did, talk for a while about the temporary sign code revision. There were several options offered. One, there's an option three and an option four that were pretty similar. Basically, what they they are is we would identify areas in town along the right of way where signs are allowed, more than what we've currently got for what what I what I would call for the election signs.

44:55 – 45:334

What happened was we we cannot we cannot dictate what someone puts on a sign, but we can we can regulate the location and the time and and a few other things. So even though we used to have specific locations just for election signs, we can no longer mandate that those are only in certain places. And, therefore, you're seeing temporary signs popping up all over the place, which is not what we the council wants. Anyway, they're they're as they get more into the revision of that code, they're gonna be requesting public input. So it's something to think about.

45:33 – 46:474

The difference between revision or, option three and option four is that they they would open up additional possibly additional spaces during election season for signs so that they're you know, the the few locations that are already identified for signs aren't overcome by all of the election signs. So that was that was a short version of a very long conversation that we had with, Eli Isaacson on the on the the sign code. And then I guess the the one thing I'll mention is our last meeting, we had a lot of discussion about traffic safety, including wildlife interactions with with, traffic and a lot of the projects that are underway, some of the suggestions that have been made. There there have been quite a few articles from Stephanie Nachle about, different what different communities are doing with regard to road safety. And and so I I think it was good for the for, county, staff to hear that presentation.

46:47 – 47:114

I mean, to hear our feedback and to to understand that. I think probably the one thing that count council really was trying to get across is we gotta be, you know, what was the word that Randy said? I don't know. But, basically, we gotta act faster than what we've been doing on some of these things. And and if something doesn't work, fine, change it.

47:11 – 47:564

But, let's not take forever analyzing before we actually finally implement something. That was sort of the that was around the the urban, North Road intersection issue as well. So, you may see some new things, on the roads. We'll see. I I I think it it was a good discussion. And, the other thing that will be coming up very soon is the road diet. Lots of construction on Trinity. We'll see how that goes. It's gonna and and, unfortunately, we're gonna see jersey bouncers again, along the road protecting the the crowds at at the concert series. However, this year, we're gonna be able to paint them.

47:564

So, that might be a good thing. We'll see. That's about all I can think of that do y'all have any questions for me?

48:090

No. Thank you. You're welcome.

48:12 – 48:513

Although she did jog my mind if you would allow. Yeah. Sure. Thank you for the reminder of the Jersey bouncers, counselor Cole. Los Angeles County Fair and Rodeo is gonna be on the August. The big change for this year is Saturday. The rodeo will be a night rodeo from four to ten. And then Saturday will be the same as if early it is usually Okay. In in the afternoon. Cool. So, yeah, we're give we're trying to give people a little bit of reprieve from the sun since Yeah.

48:512

Because the lights are gonna pay off.

48:53 – 49:043

Yes. They are. Yeah. So we'll still have the parade. We'll still have the fairs, and then the rodeo in the late afternoon, evening hour. Oh, awesome. Yep.

49:04 – 49:302

Alright. Thank you. And thank you, counselor Cole. You're welcome. This meeting. We talked about working groups. I, again, I mentioned for all of us to kind of think about things that we might want to task them with for discussion for next time. I probably prudent to reach out to the working groups, see if they want to propose something for us to consider. I'll tell them. Any other topics for adding to the agenda?

49:30 – 50:122

I don't think we have any voting topics coming up anytime soon, do we? I usually like to have one vote per meeting just to, like, fill one up here. But we've you kinda have a lot of that, and now it's I think we're kind of in that, you know, middle phase of things coming, you know, coming back up. So, okay, well, we can keep talking about that, and if y'all think of anything to add for future agenda, get those added. Alright. With that, I don't think we have any public comments still or any other folks. So I'll just kinda open it up to the board. Any last comments, questions, or thoughts? One, you're on the golf course. Any issues?

50:122

Do your numbers build by cars crossing the road, that kind of stuff?

50:183

I honestly don't have an official report on how many deer have been hit crossing the road. But I do know they do get hit.

50:25 – 50:454

Yeah. Just an FYI, there was a lot of data that was presented at the last council meeting on May 12 showing, deer kills along across the county. So if you pull that pull up the, one of the attachments from that presentation, you'll see, I think, at least through 2025.

50:474

And they're they're not decreasing, just so you know.

50:50 – 51:043

Yeah. No. There there's a herd that loves to be out there, loves to eat her grass. Mhmm. But Mike and his team do a fabulous job of mitigating all that. So far, so good. If anything, it's through to Coyotes. They they've been digging up holes.

51:061

I don't know why.

51:082

Alright. Last thoughts? Alright. Meeting adjourned. Thanks, everyone. Have a day.

51:131

Thank you, guys. You.
