SO WE'LL CALL THE MEETING TO ORDER. COULD I HAVE A MOTION?

0:03Speaker 8

I HAVE A MOTION.

0:04 – 1:00Speaker 6

THANK YOU. SO, LAURIE, OUR MOTION TO OPEN THE MEETING. AND A SECOND? I HAVE A SECOND. THANK YOU, MARIDEL. AND ALL IN FAVOR? AYE. AYE. THANK GOODNESS NO ONE'S OPPOSED. GOOD STUFF, GOOD STUFF. WE ALL WANT TO GO OUTSIDE ON A NICE DAY. ALL RIGHT, SO WE'LL JUST TAKE A QUICK ATTENDANCE. SO VALERIE IS HERE, KELLY'S HERE, LAURIE. Patrick will be late, so I'm guessing that he'll be here. And Phil, I haven't heard from. Tim, I did hear from. He is going to be attending a Fisher Cats game with family. So, wonderful night for, beautiful night, happy for him. So, but he sent us a summary of what's going on with the school board, and Maridel's going to read that for us when we get to that point. So, that will be a help, too. And then we, our Marianne is here, John is here, and, oh, Elizabeth, I know.

1:01Speaker 6

I'm surprised.

1:02Speaker 7

Maybe she's a couple minutes.

1:03 – 2:03Speaker 6

Yeah, you know what, it is only, it is only 15, 16 past. She'll be here in six. Yeah. She's usually early. She's always early, yeah. Deb is on her way. I know she's planning on coming. And what was this here? Tom is here. Dan came in earlier today. They had a late council meeting last night, so he asked if he needed to be here. And I thought that I can always reach out to him with anything that's going on, anything we need his help for with the council. So I told him that we would not mind at all if he wanted to just take a break, because they have lots of meetings. So yeah, so that's our list. And finally, we're getting close to having everyone. Really, we have everyone's information now. And then the next thing that we just need to do, Kelly's minutes are exceptional. As I say each week, they help me to make sure that I'm ready for this meeting. But does anyone need a copy of those? I had a bunch of them.

2:08Speaker 4

And they are now being posted on the website, so that's exciting.

2:13 – 2:38Speaker 6

Kelly arranged with Kirsten, so our minutes should always be, what did she say, Kelly, within five days. And we're an important committee, too, so it's good that Kelly initiated that. Kirsten's going to make sure that the two of them will work together and they'll be up each time, too. I'll take one if you've got one. Yes, so here's a few more of those if anyone needs to. WOULD YOU KNOW, THERE'S TWO PAGES.

2:38Speaker 10

I TOOK TOO MUCH.

2:39Speaker 6

NO, THEY'RE BEAUTIFUL. ANYONE ELSE NEED ONE?

2:58 – 3:16Speaker 6

All right. So I thought they were exceptional. Again, help me to remember. So where are we getting these now? So you'll be getting them in it. So actually this is a draft from our May meeting because we have to approve them now. And then if they're approved, Kelly will reach out to Kirsten and they'll be up on the website.

3:16Speaker 3

So we're not doing it through the emails anymore?

3:19 – 4:37Speaker 6

No, no. You know what, Lois? I should explain it better. You're right because it's kind of a public policy. that all of the minutes and all of the agendas too, so really I need to get my agendas up there also in case anyone's curious. But then once we approve the minutes from the past meeting, they'll go up on our website under, I think it's committees and minutes, and then if anyone wanted to know, thank goodness we have the tape, but also they could go to that section under our senior resource committee and all of the minutes We'll be there going forward. Okay. And even we'll get caught up eventually on some of the other ones too. Okay. But it's just, it's a good thing for our public to have it. They have any questions too. But they won't show up there until they're approved. Yes, and that's a really good point. So once we approve our May meeting minutes, then they'll go up probably as quick as tomorrow, you know, because cheers to now. Tonight by midnight. And that's pretty much what you do, which is great. And you get it all done. Now that I know you just have one child, it's great. Any questions, thoughts, concerns? Anything you would correct on it?

4:37 – 4:55Speaker 5

I just have one thing. Sure. Unless you have been clear with it. Things that I gave Ilona for possible vendors. I got those at the New Hampshire home show. I think in the minutes it says trade show.

4:55Speaker 6

Thank you. Oh, good. No, that's important because that's, yeah, you know, those things that we want to make sure are accurate. So I apologize if I just.

5:02Speaker 4

No, it was probably.

5:04 – 7:26Speaker 6

I can make that change. Perfect, perfect. Anything else? And I would suggest that you kind of keep one handy because with some of the topics we have, you might want to refer back to, you know, just as a reminder as to what we did last meeting as we talked about some of the other things. So I need a motion to approve these minutes. I motion to approve with the change. With the change. Thank you. With the change to the title. And then I need a second. Marianne, second it? And all in favor of accepting the meeting minutes? Aye. No one's opposed? Good. Perfect. So excellent. So then on our number four, Jim Green Award update, Kelly had some great updates right after our last meeting, things that we can discuss. And one thing we had talked about at the last meeting was initially in our first draft for the first round of the Jim Green Award, we had April as our due date on nominations, and which, you know, we weren't even ready at that point, which was fine because this is still new and it's kind of in the green stages. But then when we were talking about it, I just had kind of thrown out there that maybe it's better to wait until after Old Home Day to put a final date on the nominations, because we're going to promote it more at our booth, which will be good. The more information we can share at that booth, And Kelly sent an email saying, hey, she thought that was a good approach to it. So if anyone has other thoughts on it, by all means. But then just based on that, she came up with this flyer with our gym on it. So what an honor. And then what she has here, she has a QR code. And she also added the date, because that's about a week after Old Home Day, which gives people time. We'll have the forms at the booth and all of that. Do you know a senior that deserves recognition? The Senior Resource Committee established an award to annually recognize Londonderry's most dedicated volunteer. to its senior community and we can even bring over the plaques so that people can see that too. Would anyone like to kind of see what any thoughts? I made a few copies. I kind of didn't want to go more than eight on anything. I'm actually, yeah.

7:29 – 7:43Speaker 4

And it's just in Canva, and I can make any changes, so there's no hard feeling that we don't like colors or graphics or pictures or words. And it was just, I really wanted to get something started so that we can craft something to put out to the world.

7:44Speaker 6

Good. And then at the same time, and again, I only made about eight, so there might be some sharing. I have a question.

7:51 – 8:12Speaker 5

Do you know a senior that deserves recognition? I thought in the description it could be any Londonderry resident who serves the senior community. I struggled with this because I thought I had a really great suggestion last week and then I struggled because the person I'm thinking of is a senior but

8:25 – 8:47Speaker 6

they're not particularly involved in the senior things. So it's like, no, the meaning is, the way we'd established it was someone out there that is supporting our senior group. The question is, I do think we meant it to be a senior, too. But any thoughts on that? Deb, you were kind of drawn.

8:47Speaker 3

Yeah, we were thinking a senior. That's originally, that's what we meant to say.

8:51Speaker 9

Yeah, a senior. Over 55?

8:53Speaker 6

Good point. Or is it 55, 65?

8:55 – 9:06Speaker 9

For membership, it's 55 at the center. One woman called me today, I can join now, I'm 61. I'm like, OK. So it's 55 is what we consider a senior.

9:07Speaker 3

I'm pretty sure we were thinking 55.

9:09Speaker 5

What does AARP do?

9:12Speaker 3

I swear they were sending this stuff at 27.

9:15Speaker 8

It says who is eligible. It's vague. It doesn't say you have to be a senior.

9:21 – 9:45Speaker 10

So in bringing that up for conversation, Why wouldn't we want to recognize any resident if they did serve the community that we represent? Why does their age matter? I'm going to pick our wonderful secretary here, Kelly. Let's say she's out there doing all kinds of stuff. Why? Because she's supporting the senior community. Right. That's kind of age .

9:45Speaker 9

But the reverse is, can they be a senior who's serving non-senior functions, so we're going in both directions. Right.

9:55 – 10:14Speaker 6

Well, I think it was about serving just the senior community. Yeah, I do think that the one thing that we had established was we were looking for someone that really went above and beyond like Jim Green did for the seniors in our community. And every move Jim made really was trying to keep .

10:14Speaker 8

Bob, do you know a volunteer that deserves recognition? Just change the word to volunteer.

10:19Speaker 4

And we are the committee that will be reviewing it all. So we will be able to make the decision whatever age the volunteers are and who is the most deserving.

10:28Speaker 10

A Londonderry volunteer. Take the word resident.

10:31 – 10:45Speaker 6

I do think the discussion is right though because it seemed so correct when we were talking about our Jim. And he was a senior, but now going forward, We want, it could be a 30-year-old that is just, what do you think?

10:45Speaker 10

She just said a voluntary volunteer. It doesn't have to be a resident. I got that from Valerie. She thought put in the word volunteer. Do you know, because it has to be a resident. Do you know a volunteer that is a volunteer?

10:55Speaker 3

We want a resident, yes.

11:03 – 11:23Speaker 8

What's a word for a superstar? Outstanding. No, it has to be a person, a noun, not an adjective. I know people say rock star, but I can't remember. Do you know a candidate that deserves a recognition? I don't know.

11:23 – 11:48Speaker 6

Lois just brought up another very good point, though. There are people from Derry and surrounding towns that have helped our senior community for years, or that were seniors in town and had to move to more of a low-income housing that was available in other communities. So if we limit it to London Derry, then they could be eliminating some of those.

11:49 – 12:00Speaker 10

Is our goal... Londonderry seniors receiving help or Londonderry residents getting recognition? What is our goal? Seniors receiving help.

12:00 – 12:12Speaker 3

I think it should be a resident only because we want more people to participate. Participate in our town. That's just my own opinion. I think it should be a resident who does something for seniors.

12:12Speaker 5

Do you know a Londonderry resident who deserves recognition?

12:15Speaker 7

Well, then you're going way outside of the box. You're going outside of the box of what it was supposed to be. Because it was supposed to be to support the seniors.

12:25Speaker 8

But the second sentence says, Senior Resource Committee established an award to pay to recognize the most dedicated volunteer to a senior community.

12:34Speaker 7

I know. It's getting tricky, right? Let's chat GPT. Who's got it on their phone? I'm sure I can get there.

12:39Speaker 8

I think that's the whole thing.

12:48Speaker 4

Yeah, I'd forget if I actually made it .

12:50 – 13:09Speaker 6

But that's the cost. Right. Well, I think what we have here is a great start on our advertising for it, right? I think the date we would all agree is the right date to make the nomination papers, applications have to be submitted by.

13:12Speaker 9

Do we agree that... A common term for someone who helps seniors is a caregiver.

13:17Speaker 9

That's all right. Good try. I did not know that.

13:20 – 13:34Speaker 6

I didn't think you were going to talk to me. Thanks a lot. I think that we're in agreement for the most part because we all have a beautiful person in mind that this wouldn't fit. But I think the goal of this was to promote...

13:35Speaker 3

resident seniors helping seniors in our town that's what it was yeah the person that you have in mind that I don't think we should

13:44Speaker 9

Hasn't done anything in a year and a half.

13:45 – 14:19Speaker 6

Yeah, that's what I'm kind of thinking too. It's been a year and a half, at least. Yeah, I think at that time we should have done something. I really do, because I think of her so often, particularly the last few weeks. I'm not sure why she's been on my mind. Truly an unsung hero, year after year after year. But I do agree that that's kind of changed now, and I think moving forward for this, I think, and maybe we could come up with something else down the road, you know, a little sidetrack to make that acknowledgement. We say that, but it never happens. Yeah, but Kelly, if you make a note of it, we could probably still.

14:20Speaker 1

We could do something about that whole home thing. We could buy her the whole home thing. It's a thought, too, for...

14:31Speaker 6

John is saying that maybe at Old Home Day we could do a little special recognition for her or something.

14:39 – 15:20Speaker 9

You have the best because you're— Well, I'm having my senior volunteer—I'm not making it a luncheon, but it's going to be at the Senior Center on July 9th from 12 to 2. I'm inviting all volunteers. We used to do like 25 hours or 10 hours. I have 61 volunteers for this last fiscal, and that person is on the list. I have a singer performing, and I also have Sean coming to speak. And if this committee came and spoke, on behalf of what volunteerism is about, that person could also be recognized. That's a good idea.

15:20Speaker 4

That's a great idea.

15:21Speaker 9

And July 9th at what time? About 2 to 2. About 2 to 2. Yeah, that's probably.

15:26Speaker 6

And even if a few people could make it, like, you know, whoever can make it from our committee.

15:31 – 15:45Speaker 9

It's going to be very informal. I'm not going to, we're doing coach stuff for a few years, but it gets a little tight and cramped and I can only invite a certain amount of people. I'm opening it up to, and even if you work, volunteered a half hour, you're invited. because some people can't give more.

15:48Speaker 9

That person isn't well within that range for the last fiscal year. Oh, that's on Sunday. No, it's on a Thursday. I was doing it on Saturdays and people didn't like that.

15:58Speaker 6

Oh, so they wanted it on Tuesday. And Lois, maybe we can make sure that we do a plaque, like something a little more formal that we present from our committee to her.

16:07Speaker 9

And if you'd like, this is just, I'm just... Yeah, brainstorming. Brainstorming. I don't like volunteers serving themselves for a volunteer celebration. Maybe we could also.

16:17Speaker 6

Oh, I love that. If that worked out.

16:21Speaker 9

It's not going to be a big lunch. It's just going to be hors d'oeuvres and stuff. At the senior center? Yeah. July 9th, you said.

16:27Speaker 10

What time did you say? 12. I'm putting it on my calendar.

16:32Speaker 9

I'll be there. That would be kind of cool. I just, I mean, that might be a way to recognize those.

16:41Speaker 6

And if you have to work, of course, we completely understand. Don't feel that it's something. What do you think, Tom?

16:46Speaker 9

You're on the list. I think you're going to be camping.

16:49Speaker 8

I'm thinking I'm not this year.

16:50Speaker 9

I already put you in. You are invited, but I redlined you and Pam because I thought you already told me you were going to be going.

16:59Speaker 10

July 9th. No, we'll be around.

17:03Speaker 9

Oh, so they volunteer. They can serve everything. Beautiful. No, I'm just kidding. No, none of us. You'll be served.

17:09Speaker 6

I love that idea.

17:11Speaker 9

But that way, this committee that works with seniors can honor those seniors.

17:17 – 17:34Speaker 6

And it's a great time for us to, we could probably bring, like make an announcement about the Jim Green Award, too. I think that is a great idea. And then we'll make sure something is done for the person, that unsung hero. All right, perfect.

17:34Speaker 8

I found the word altruistic. Altruistic? It's a fancy word.

17:38Speaker 3

Anyone's going to know what it is.

17:40Speaker 9

Unselfishly concerned for or devoted to the welfare of others. How about bored?

17:45Speaker 8

No, I'm just kidding. The other one was benevolent. Benevolent sounds not positive, but it says well-meaning, kind, and actively desires to help.

17:53 – 18:10Speaker 6

And our next meeting will be on the 7th. And you said this is the 9th. Good. So that's a good reminder for all of us, too. Oh, cool. Lauren, do you have any money available if we were to want to spend $50 on a plaque? Like maybe, I'd love like something maybe with a special picture of her.

18:11Speaker 5

Or him. Yes, I have money.

18:13 – 18:34Speaker 6

Okay, because I have my special phone all right, but that would be wonderful So we need to probably work on that before that meeting maybe that's you know, anyone who wants to add input to it But I'm but where we're at the town, you know If they even show up, yeah, they have not for the last several months This flyer or some other flyer I

18:40 – 18:55Speaker 1

Who's going to do the legwork of getting this out to all the places it should be? And I'm not certain what those places are, but we ought to give some thought where we're going to actually put this. Obviously, the Senior Center and some places, but we need to get it.

18:57Speaker 3

I think if we can agree on the poster and the terms, then social media, Kirsten,

19:12 – 19:29Speaker 6

We can, the senior center, we can blast it because there's really no point in waiting because it's going to be here before we know it. But yes, so back to then, if we look at, so we're okay with this as our initial then, what Kelly came up with?

19:30Speaker 4

Am I getting rid of senior? Deserves recognition. Do you know a volunteer that deserves recognition instead of senior?

19:38Speaker 9

But they have to serve the senior community.

19:40 – 19:55Speaker 3

So we're not... doing a senior volunteer. I know, that's a tough one. That was what we intended in the beginning. It was to honor Jim, and Jim was a senior working for seniors. That's what our focus was in order to do this.

19:55Speaker 4

If we put volunteer, we are still the people that will oversee all of the nominations, so we can still make that distinction.

20:03Speaker 5

You'd have to change the the other thing that you wrote up. Bye, Jeremy. I can do both.

20:09Speaker 9

Don't send me any more e-mails. The second sentence explains.

20:11Speaker 8

Why didn't you send me a short sentence? It says that recognize Londonderry's most dedicated volunteers. Thank you, Jeremy, for all you do for us. Okay, so maybe I don't touch it. Should I not touch it?

20:21Speaker 7

I don't think it's needed to change it.

20:24Speaker 7

We're too picky.

20:25Speaker 9

I think we can be more picky when we pick the person. It's not like an RSA and it's going to be this way. Right. You know, it's open to interpretation.

20:33Speaker 8

And for the first year, we leave that word. And if somebody calls us on it, oh, well, you know, my daughter, she's 30 and she does so much. Oh, that's a great idea. We'll open it up next year.

20:43 – 20:55Speaker 3

I think we would actually know these people if they were doing things. I'm not trying to. I do too. I mean, we would be already aware of these people. And I don't know of anybody that's doing that. So I don't think it's going to be a problem if you leave the word .

20:55Speaker 10

So we're going to leave it? OK. No. So then we have to change this.

21:01Speaker 3

It should say senior instead of just a volunteer.

21:04Speaker 10

Any Londonderry resident, it should say any Londonderry senior resident.

21:11 – 21:22Speaker 3

I think it just says senior. You don't have to say that we're a resident. Any Londonderry senior. This is just for us, right? This is just for us. You know what I mean? So the QR code is just a funny.

21:25Speaker 8

I'll put in a real one. Right, no, but when they click on it, they'll see the final version of what it all is about.

21:32Speaker 4

Right, so we need to decide on whether we want the QR code to go to information or maybe a form so that they can fill information out.

21:39Speaker 8

And I don't know what the online... That's true.

21:42Speaker 4

Yeah, we can put it all into one.

21:43Speaker 7

I would say just put the form, just have it go straight to the form, let them fill it out, and then we can figure it out from there.

21:49Speaker 4

Who in town can help us make a form to go on the website?

21:54Speaker 3

I think Tanya can help. Yeah, I think so. I think she would be available to help us with that.

22:04Speaker 8

Doesn't Google have forms? Yeah, Google Forms. I've done this before.

22:08Speaker 4

I've never done it. I know in Andover we try to do Google Forms for some things, and IT has a connection. Because they have the forms for the running department and stuff like that. Don't they have a rec department?

22:18Speaker 6

You know, the person we should have had, too bad we just missed him because he's our director now. Jeremy would be a good person to ask.

22:24Speaker 3

I think they have the forms online for the rec department, stuff like that. Yeah, they do.

22:28Speaker 6

I don't know if they have the forms. Yeah, I would definitely reach out to Tonya. Sure, reach out to Tonya.

22:35Speaker 9

Doug Cole from rec probably would know.

22:38Speaker 8

I think Tonya or... Canva might have forms, too. But you want your... Canva, you said?

22:43Speaker 4

Yeah, but like the platform, the online platform to get it on.

22:47 – 23:00Speaker 3

With the code. Right. Okay. So if we want it on the website, we have to be very careful. We can't just have any kind of thing on there. It's got to go through cyber, very locked down.

23:00 – 23:13Speaker 6

You know what, Kelly? When you reach out to Tanya, CC me, and I'll also send it to Jeremy. Because between the two of them, And then, because, now is there anything that we need to change on this? Because...

23:13 – 23:51Speaker 8

If that's just going to be for the people that are deciding who's going to get the award, that should be just for us. Let the folks... So I almost feel like it's a candidate form, right? I nominate Susie, right? Here's her name and her phone number, and this is what she's done in... you put it like a box why are you nominating her so then they can tell all the good stuff and that's all we really need to remember if you want to get you know sticky what's their date of birth but not really you know we just it's an honor system we don't even ask the years phone number the only thing i worry a little is is that

23:52 – 24:03Speaker 6

Do we need to be more specific, though, because we're looking for someone the caliber of a Jim Green, not just, oh, this is my friend who lives next door, and they're wonderful, so I'm going to say their name.

24:04Speaker 3

I think it has it on there, though, that they dedicate their time to the London Dairy Scene, so dedicating is a big word, I think. Or maybe we can put that on the floor.

24:14Speaker 7

In what way does this volunteer dedicate their time to the seniors?

24:18 – 24:36Speaker 10

And put specific references. But again, Kelly has already mentioned, we're the deciding body. So if we have two people and one of them has tons of service, then we know what our decision is. That's true, yeah. Limiting the selection at the beginning, we're limiting how many.

24:37Speaker 7

What if the only person we get only does a few hours at church?

24:40Speaker 6

Right. It's not to say they don't deserve it. Right. You're right. So. And then this is only year two, so year three we can. And we can always tweet. Tweet. Okay. All right.

24:49 – 25:02Speaker 9

So we enlist all the nominees to give them all the credit, depending if we have one or. So if we have 20 nominees, here's their names. Based on.

25:04Speaker 6

I don't know. Why didn't you pick her?

25:06Speaker 9

But that way you get credit and people say you're a volunteer and maybe somebody else will volunteer. I don't know. I'm thinking we'll give people more incentive to volunteer.

25:16Speaker 6

But you know, the good thing about that is if we have a lot, then that's another discussion we can have at the end of August when we make our decision.

25:25Speaker 8

Since we're tight on time today, we should... Yeah.

25:28Speaker 6

That's a good point, though.

25:30Speaker 5

It really is. We should go to the tech help people so that if anybody doesn't know how to do all this.

25:38Speaker 4

So what I can do, too, I can put the QR code and just like the actual website once they establish that.

25:43Speaker 9

We're having tech help as a lot from the library coming to the C or something once a week. Awesome. That is so wonderful.

25:50Speaker 8

You could print the forms and have them fill it out at the senior center.

25:53Speaker 9

Right, we can have hard .

25:54Speaker 8

Sorry, if that's possible. Absolutely.

25:58Speaker 9

If we just make it simple, name, phone number. And some people don't want to go online.

26:02Speaker 6

Yeah, so this possibly could be linked to the senior center site. That'd be nice if they could, if Tonya was able to put it on your site.

26:12Speaker 9

The site that I haven't updated in a year? How about my Facebook page?

26:16 – 26:37Speaker 6

Yeah, of course. Wherever is more convenient for you. And it should be somewhere on our website also because there's many places that we can get the information. The library would be another good resource. Are we settled on where we're going to head for our next meeting with this then? Yes. All right. So Kelly's going to inform all of us of next steps. Definitely.

26:37Speaker 7

Great. So the only other thing is when these are ready to go, I don't mind going to like the grocery stores.

26:44Speaker 9

And should we be inviting churches to the expo?

26:52 – 27:40Speaker 6

That's another conversation. Good. No, I agree. And, Laura, you could pick them up from our Depco Drive. Put them in my mailbox because they'll find me $10,000. That's right. All right. NUMBER 5, MOVING ON TO THAT DISCUSSION OF OUR OLD HOME DAY BOOTH, SATURDAY, AUGUST 15, SIGN-UP SHEETS TO COVER WHEN WE MEET, WHICH IS REALLY PERFECT TIMING, OUR NEXT MEETING, JULY 7. WE CAN HAVE A SIGN-UP SHEET. WE'LL HAVE A LIST OF THINGS THAT WE NEED TO BRING, THE WATERS, THE TABLE, THE TENT. DID YOU FIND THE TENT? I HAVE NOT FOUND A TENT YET, BUT I WILL HAVE ONE BIGGER AND BETTER THAN EVER. I KNOW WE HAVE OURS ANYWAY THAT DEB BOUGHT FOR US. I think Dave has it in that room. I think so, too. I think it's in the room in the break area.

27:41Speaker 8

I have two of them at the house. Like I said, if you get two of them in the house.

27:44 – 28:15Speaker 6

I know it's here. We just have to find the first year we did it. Yeah, exactly. And then we brought the other one in. So, yes, so we'll go over that more in our next meeting. The basic things we're going to need for it. We'll need posters, all of that. And then, Kelly, I'm going to ask, would you be able to create for the next meeting a schedule? Like, you know, who's going to be there at 8? I don't know what the... 8 to 10, maybe 10 to 12. Elizabeth always has a good grasp on when she can lower. I don't know what those hours should be.

28:15Speaker 8

I usually come and set up, and I stay until the end of the parade, and then I leave. So like 8 to... Whatever the parade is. What does a shift mean? That's the tough question.

28:24Speaker 5

I think Elizabeth and I did 12 to 2 last year.

28:26Speaker 8

So I was probably 8 to noon.

28:28Speaker 5

If you just do like hours, and then people can just sign up for each hour. So from 8 to...

28:35Speaker 6

10, from 10 to 12.

28:36Speaker 5

What time was clean out? I think it broke down. Wasn't it around 4?

28:40Speaker 9

No one wants to be in the booth during the parade. It was around 4 o'clock. We all walked down.

28:45Speaker 6

Yeah, and you should then, too. Because we're kind of that morning early.

28:51Speaker 9

We were close to the road. Yeah, that was great.

28:54 – 29:10Speaker 6

It was good. So I think if we go with that idea, Marianne, of that do it hourly, Kelly, and then because it's two weeks, if you can't commit to this two hours, you might be able to commit to the last hour here and the first hour here, something like that. Okay. So just do hourly and then everybody can fill in whatever hours.

29:10Speaker 4

What time does it go until? Eight to? I'd say.

29:14 – 30:06Speaker 6

I think we're over there by three. Four to be safe. And then John's gotten kind of stuck in that. I know many people have. So if you can leave at three, which is usually what happens. But let's cover ourselves until four. The other thing, too, with some of these things, looking at that July date for our next meeting. Right now it's hard to know what we're all available for because we, I mean many of us haven't really planned where we're going to be in the summer and what obligations are going to come up for everyone personally. So by the 7th we'll probably have a better idea of do you have something else going on, a birthday party or something that you have to be at on our old home day Saturday. Another comment. I'm sure I'll have one. Another comment about cleaning up. Oh, that's a two. Yes, I believe it is. Yeah, I believe it is. They do.

30:06Speaker 3

They're wonderful.

30:07 – 30:18Speaker 6

I believe it is. Yeah, Judge. So Tuesday, did I? Yeah, so Tuesday the 7th. Yeah, I went over to him and said, can you? All right, so we'll address old home day more then.

30:19Speaker 7

Okay. Anything else with old home day?

30:22Speaker 6

No? I think we're in good shape. Okay.

30:26Speaker 7

And we're at least looking for like giveaway things if we get people.

30:32Speaker 6

Yeah. Bracelets for the kids. Let's think about that.

30:38Speaker 9

I think the problem is the kids like run up, take stuff and leave. It's not really serving the seniors.

30:43Speaker 9

I mean, I love kids. I know that, but that's not what we're here for.

30:47Speaker 6

No, and that's a good point. Yeah, I'm serious.

30:51Speaker 8

I'm just going to give you a lot of chocolate, but not all of it. It's a conversation piece. It's the parents over.

31:01 – 32:00Speaker 6

But on that note, I do tend to agree as much as I love it, too, because it's half of the fun is the kids going around getting little things. If any of us can get a bulk of something that would be fun for the kids to grab, but I do know what you're saying. Lori, you just made a good point. So one important thing, and I think I did add it on here, Bill's information for the refrigerator, that's what it is. I couldn't remember that. It's a file for life. And remember, it's a red packet. It's magnetic. It goes on. That is so important. And they'll make sure, I know Phil will make sure that we have those. Because that's what we should be providing to all of us, really. You don't have to be a senior. It's a good thing to have at the house. But that will be there for sure. And then, again, if something comes up that gets you thinking, most important is we've got to have the forms for these things that we're trying to promote, the expo and our award.

32:00 – 32:28Speaker 3

Do you think that we should have something, since we have the $5 thing on the... John got on the ballot and everything and it went through have information about that like you know like have some stuff about cart and stuff like that there so like that did you know did you know yeah like question mark or something I know it's not well you know what you spend but you know people know why we just did it don't put the cart before the horse yeah

32:28Speaker 5

There you go.

32:29Speaker 6

Did you know Johnson and Rubin now with that money? There you go. I mean, you know what, though, that's a good point. Just something like the sheets that we used to do for college.

32:37Speaker 8

Yeah, just a little bit like what we've already gained. I think it would show the town that there was an actual need. That there was a purpose. I like that.

32:43 – 32:59Speaker 5

Why don't you list something like the senior resource committees working on a list, old home day, The Expo, Jim Green Award. Yeah. Jim Green Award, expansion of CART, you know.

32:59Speaker 6

Yeah, there's a name for that too, like the senior resources mission or something.

33:03Speaker 5

Right, right. That we come up with what we're doing.

33:05Speaker 6

Yeah, mission maybe. I'm speaking more of like why we have live dollars.

33:09Speaker 3

That's what, because we've got comments. Yeah. Many comments. And showing the purpose of it.

33:15 – 34:01Speaker 6

And you know what, I think, and I do want to leave John time for his committee report. I don't know if they're able, but let's just get through six too. Senior Expo, that is in the works. I thought you might want to give us a little update on it. Patrick was going to be here with us. I know he's doing a lot on it also. And then we do have to make a pretty quick decision on the sponsorship fees, but I think Ilona took care of that for us, too. So, and we do have Kelly created this right after our last meeting. Ilona, that didn't. Oh, I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I won't take credit. I stole it from her. But that, no, Ilona, this was amazing what you just, you sent out to all of us.

34:01Speaker 9

Well, I think it might be short-winded, and I think we have to agree on if we're doing $50.

34:06 – 34:45Speaker 6

My thought on that is we hashed around a lot of different things, 200, boom, boom, you know, where you're sitting. When you sent this out, it hit me. Again, this is like our first, you know, first time doing this part of the Senior Expo. Let's do exactly what you have there. This is over, over. Right. Yeah. Yeah. Period. So I didn't even play with this. No. Perfect. Because we need to do. Yeah. My thought, the way that you wrote this up, Non-profit, no charge, so if it's town offices, things like that. And if it is for a profit, it's simply $50. And if we make $1,000 this year, that pays wonderful. It pays for the donuts.

34:45 – 35:09Speaker 5

Free parking. because if they go to like the center of New Hampshire they have to pay to park the vendors do you all want to take one of these and add any comments that I can work into the weather and I don't want to make it too wordy but I want it to the point and the other thing is do you have an application for the award made yet?

35:10Speaker 1

no we don't do that right? no

35:13Speaker 6

Okay, go ahead. Sorry. You take the stage for a minute.

35:18 – 35:31Speaker 9

Sorry, I lost my train of thought. Okay, space is limited for a returning vendor. So I have to, should we do just a neutral version of this letter, or should I do another version for a new vendor?

35:31Speaker 6

Does anyone need a copy of it? Yes, please. Keep it simple. Space is limited. Reserve your spot now.

35:37Speaker 7

Right. Make the urgency there.

35:39 – 35:50Speaker 5

This was exceptional what you did. There's many here. And you're only going to send around to sign up earlier, right?

35:50 – 36:01Speaker 4

There's no, everyone is in the same boat for us. We put all the letters out and whoever responds first, we only have so many tables. So it's more first come, first serve. It doesn't matter if you were there last year.

36:01 – 36:15Speaker 9

And I gave them the deadline to be the end of July. July 30th or whatever. I think that's, no, yeah. Because I want to put these out July 1st, right before July 1st.

36:16Speaker 7

So does that give them a month to respond? Yeah, you don't want to give them too long because then they'll forget about it. Somebody will like shuffle it and say, oh, I got another 30.

36:24Speaker 9

Well, I didn't put a date because I was going to discuss it with you guys. Because this is still a work in progress.

36:31Speaker 5

Like a business date?

36:33Speaker 9

I don't know if it's the calendar instead of a Sunday. I have to open a calendar? It's a Sunday? I don't know.

36:40Speaker 4

Do you want the last business day of July? Okay. 31st. Oh, it's a Friday.

36:47Speaker 7

There you go. My new weekend is right there.

36:51Speaker 6

Do we agree to just leave it at free for non-profits and $50 for everyone else? I agree. Perfect timing.

36:59Speaker 9

And we also encourage everybody to bring a prize to raffle.

37:06 – 37:17Speaker 6

We're just talking about the expo. Who should be signing the letter? I have you. That was, can we put the senior, I think it's just senior resource committee.

37:17 – 37:44Speaker 9

Yeah. I put your name, president senior resource committee, kind of Londonderry, with your email. That's fine. But do you want, the thing is, they usually send stuff to me, but I'm very hesitant lately because of internet crap. I don't get, I had six people that showed up last time that I never got their email. So I'm hoping, I'm preferring that they actually send the application via snail mail.

37:46Speaker 7

The application needs work too. I have a question about that. What's that? Can the town set up an email for this? I was just thinking the same thing. So it's direct.

37:55 – 38:12Speaker 6

Someone would have to monitor it. Right. That's the only catch. That's where we, it's like with our election things, we have a folder. But boy, you have to like, I have three people that really all the clerks have access, you know, so it's, that's the only catch. I would help out by monitoring it if it were for this thing.

38:13Speaker 10

And then I can keep track of. You'd have to get on the town website.

38:17Speaker 3

I don't mind doing it. I'm just concerned that I'm not going to get the emails.

38:21Speaker 9

I do think where we're at, people, especially

38:34 – 38:48Speaker 6

People may just decide, oh, if I have to snail mail it, I'm not going to bother. Because people are so adept now, right, to just fill out the form and email it. I think you've got to offer both ways in order to do it. Yeah, you do. You really do. But if you and Deb want, if we can create that. Yeah, that's fine.

38:48Speaker 2

I have no problem.

38:49Speaker 6

But the only is we'll have to reach out to IT tomorrow. And Patrick.

38:53 – 39:11Speaker 2

And Patrick, yeah. So whether we have Senior Expo at LeonardArianeAge.gov or I aren't at LeonardArianeAge.gov, it's still through the same server, right? Right. And perhaps we just add something on to here saying if submitting electronically, you will receive a confirmation email. If you do not, please call to confirm.

39:13Speaker 5

Because they should be getting a receipt for payment too.

39:17Speaker 8

If we back up to the last topic and we were talking about a Google form for that nomination thing, could somebody, if they're going to do that sort of Google form, couldn't they do the same?

39:27Speaker 9

Kirsten talked about making that a couple years in a row, about making that form online.

39:33Speaker 8

Right. But could they make the payment online? If we accept credit cards.

39:39Speaker 3

We have to go, Jeremy, because the cyber problems, we are so locked in on. Firewalls right now. There's a lot of stuff that we can't do.

39:50Speaker 8

Oh, yeah. They haven't paid in the past. I was going to say, how have they paid in the past? That's another sort of how are they going to pay? Right.

39:57Speaker 9

And how do they prove their nonprofit status? I don't know how that works. Well, from the Secretary of State's office of this summer, we doubt.

40:04Speaker 6

They have a certificate. Yeah. And the Secretary of State has a list.

40:06Speaker 3

All of us quirks have it on our career.

40:09Speaker 6

I just want to get back to something Patrick said. So what email were you talking, were you talking with just the?

40:14 – 40:43Speaker 2

He said it doesn't matter. It's, the email extension is the same. Whether we just change iArt from, to Senior Expo at, you know, LondonAge.gov, it's the same mail server. So it's being, if it's being filtered, it's going to be filtered. Right. You know what I'm saying? Unless you're just having connectivity issues up. But even still, if you lose internet when you get it back, your email is refreshed. I'm just simply saying, let's just say you will receive a confirmation. If you do not, please call to confirm. Are you having a problem getting your emails?

40:44Speaker 3

Is that what it is?

40:45Speaker 9

Well, last year I had thought everything was set. I had the 70 vendors and I had like six show up. wanting their table and I didn't. We set up the tables real quickly.

40:55Speaker 3

I never got their confirmation.

40:58 – 41:37Speaker 6

The only thing I know we can't do right now is put more on their plates. Like we have to have small ass because they are doing a fantastic job of doing but we can't just throw this at them now. I mean with six months notice we probably could but we have to be mindful of that too. So the email, what email did you use last year? Mine. Yours. I think probably the best thing, if you're okay with it, is to stick with what we did last year. Because if you only had four people that showed up that you didn't hear from out of all those vendors. We could still handle that. Yeah, I don't think that's horrible to 70 or 60.

41:37Speaker 9

It was very easy, just throwing the tables up.

41:40 – 41:55Speaker 9

But it was a little embarrassing, too. And then I did send confirmation emails to the people that I received them from. Like this is, these are the last minute things, blah, blah, blah. But obviously I didn't send them to the people who I didn't get. Right.

41:55 – 42:08Speaker 7

And there would be no way for them to know you're sending a confirmation email unless, like Patrick said, you put it on there saying you'll receive a confirmation email within five days of submitting this. And if not, please contact us.

42:08Speaker 4

They may have just showed up and said, I'll see what happens.

42:12Speaker 9

Some of them I knew from previous years.

42:15Speaker 6

Were they on your list, though? You did have the name of them?

42:18Speaker 9

They were not on my response list. They were on my major list, absolutely.

42:23Speaker 5

But we still haven't asked the person how they're going to accept payment.

42:29Speaker 10

I think two.

42:31Speaker 5

They could put credit card information.

42:34Speaker 7

They don't think they can.

42:36Speaker 6

Ilana, how did you get payment last year?

42:37 – 42:59Speaker 9

I've already talked to Justin. Justin's going to put the money on my special account and give me a code. He hasn't given me the code yet. So that code goes under Expo or something. So do they have to pay by check then? Check or cash?

43:00Speaker 3

Check or cash.

43:00Speaker 9

And can they bring it here, or do they have to send it to me? Cash, obviously, they're not going to send to me.

43:04Speaker 3

If we know the code, they could direct it to me, and I'll make sure they get footing correctly. If I know the code.

43:10Speaker 9

I wonder if there is any way we could do it with the credit cards. I see what you're saying. But you charge money on the credit cards, don't you? Yeah, at the service fees.

43:19 – 43:31Speaker 6

Yeah, yeah. Yeah, let's stick with checks or cash. Okay. If we find out something this week, then we'll revisit it. But yeah, there's more that goes along with this.

43:31Speaker 10

So the question of them asking us, can I bring the payment the day of the expo? No. What is going to be our answer? No. Because I guess we need to be in advance to pay for the expo, right? We have to know that up front.

43:42Speaker 8

I'm not really familiar with Venmo, but everybody's like, can you Venmo me? Could you set up a Venmo for it? No.

43:48Speaker 3

Can't do that through the town. A county has to be all coordinated. Should we pause this until next year?

43:54 – 44:07Speaker 7

Oh, the figure you're saying? Should we wait on that? I'm just wondering, well, I know it's a great idea. I really do know that it's a great idea. I'm just wondering if there's so many pieces that aren't going to be in place yet. Can't use that either.

44:07Speaker 4

I think payment or not payment, it's still, the email and the mail is still the same problem. I think the biggest hurdle is the check. But I don't think it's too much to ask someone to mail in a check.

44:16 – 44:27Speaker 9

No, it's really not that important. We get a lot of checks. All my ventures give me checks. And some people have given me money orders, which is fine with me, too.

44:27Speaker 6

And if they really want to pay cash, they can drop it off at the senior center. Or with us, and we put it in an envelope and have it set aside.

44:34Speaker 3

I wouldn't have them mail it to us, though, because we have so much mail coming in that it would get lost.

44:40 – 45:07Speaker 9

Well, the check should come to my address. I have my address. Do you have any other questions on the running before me? I just made the big signs this is the one that says we're looking we're looking for vendors and then down here I put there's a fee non-profit that's not your final is it because it's the wrong date it's yeah I'll do that too 26. Okay and also you've got free at the top

45:08Speaker 7

You got what?

45:08Speaker 3

It's free for people to attend. For people to attend.

45:13Speaker 4

So who's the flyer for? The flyer's for the vendors.

45:16Speaker 3

Yeah, so you don't want to put free.

45:19Speaker 9

OK, so this is one copied from all the years. And you don't have giveaways for the vendors. Free parking.

45:25Speaker 7

Just put parking underneath it. That's right.

45:30Speaker 6

What's our goal on, Ilana, when are you thinking you're going to try to email these out and start to return?

45:35Speaker 9

The first week of July.

45:36Speaker 6

OK. All right, then we'll talk about it more at our next meeting.

45:38Speaker 9

Look, I got the date right here. And I was thinking of not putting fifth annual, just annual.

45:44Speaker 6

I like the numbers.

45:45Speaker 9

I was kind of in awe of that.

45:48Speaker 8

Especially with the fifth, because like five is like, you know.

45:51Speaker 3

Yeah. every year, so.

45:54 – 46:05Speaker 6

Patrick, what else you got? Let's, and Patrick, we're going to then get John, because you've got to talk about, you guys had your committee meeting too? Yes. Patrick.

46:10 – 46:39Speaker 2

No, I think the $50 table thing is good. It just raises a little bit of money so that way it gives us, you know, We're not just depleting loaners' funds, you know, for coffee and refreshments, and it allows us to pay maybe for the Jim Green plaque. And, you know, it gives us a little bit of an operating expense, right? We don't need a whole lot of money, but I think that's good. I looked at the forms today. I didn't have time to edit them, but I'll do that with some suggestions. I'll just email you directly. I can have that by the end of the day.

46:39Speaker 9

Yeah, I like that, the free idea, getting rid of the free.

46:43Speaker 9

I may make the graphics a little crisper. Okay. Yeah. And the date's correct.

46:51 – 47:06Speaker 2

Yeah, and maybe for next year we can make it a fillable form online, which is the, you know, pushes us through the website. It does, right. I'm trying to remember what I, I had to do that to volunteer for the Sudden After Planning Commission. That's what it was, because I filled out an application online. So can do it, but I know she's just got a lot going on.

47:06Speaker 3

Well, there's so much she's, I mean, we're kind of asking.

47:09 – 47:32Speaker 2

No, I agree. So maybe we'll put that in the notes for next year. Yeah. But otherwise, yeah, let's just finalize the documents and then, at our first meeting in July, just give the go-ahead maybe, and we just start pumping these things out, right? As best we can. The high school's all set. We can bring back the Skills Trades Expo. We changed the format of all the tables. It was a much better flow.

47:32Speaker 9

That was so good.

47:33 – 47:56Speaker 2

And so I think for the Senior Expo, you can just copy that so you have that template. Because at our senior expo last year, there was a big gap in the middle and some people weren't getting flow. And I don't think we want to do food trucks for our event, right? Because the seniors, we want to keep them inside. We did have a couple of food trucks and that was great, but I don't recall.

47:56Speaker 9

I think it's also fair. the fair season, so I don't think we're going to get food trucks. People are going to be at the big fairs.

48:03Speaker 6

And I do like the idea of coffee and donuts in the middle for people that have that free time.

48:09Speaker 10

If we start sending them out to the food truck, they'll never come back.

48:13Speaker 2

I do like providing that as well, as opposed to selling it. And the rest areas.

48:19Speaker 9

We need the rest areas. The rest areas, the seating areas. Oh, yes.

48:24Speaker 6

Oh, yeah, it's nice. Spread out, not just one.

48:26Speaker 2

They like it throughout.

48:27Speaker 6

It was kind of like a mini old home.

48:29Speaker 2

Yeah, a few chairs, yeah.

48:31Speaker 2

And I'm trying to, I apologize, I missed last month's meeting, but did we talk about trying to find a sponsor for the totes? Or are we just going to say? No, we're all set on that. Okay.

48:39 – 48:55Speaker 6

We are? Phil, through the tote place right up by the airport, I think we can easily get, you know, a fair number. They've been, each year they've been our sponsor. They've been great. on that for free and then a couple years ago we asked to put the logo on it, they did that, so I think that's one thing we don't have to worry about.

48:55 – 49:07Speaker 2

Great, and even if 25 of the vendors I'm just nodding. Sounds good to me. In that ballpark.

49:08Speaker 9

Yeah, so it's something we did for $1,500.

49:11Speaker 2

Yeah, something like that.

49:12 – 49:26Speaker 6

Yeah, so very good. Absolutely. And I think our next meeting, again, we'll revisit this more. We'll be, you know, we're really getting ready for these things, which is excellent, you know, for the things that we have on our plate.

49:27Speaker 2

Do we want to advertise CART service or subscribe ahead of time? We talked about.

49:31Speaker 3

We were talking about definitely for old home day. We're going to have it at the table.

49:37Speaker 9

For CART to actually. I thought we wanted CART there.

49:43Speaker 6

Yeah, we do want it. They're always invited. It's unusual that they didn't come last time, but yes.

49:51 – 50:07Speaker 2

And then one last final thought too. I get my expos confused. We had alert members assisting people with, they did traffic, but also we had a couple golf carts. And was that our expo last year? Because if not, we could get the golf carts. And they can kind of like, okay, they can kind of patrol the parking lot.

50:07Speaker 10

I can remember some of the seniors, that was the highlight of their golf carts. Yes, that they were in the golf carts.

50:12Speaker 2

And we get the golf carts, and that way we can, again, offer shuttle service. And we would make a sign that says, Shuttle, so people know.

50:19Speaker 9

What about wheelchairs? We didn't really use them.

50:22Speaker 6

We didn't really use them. We generally have one or two there. We have one or two from wheelchairs. Just like for the elections, but we do need to make sure.

50:29Speaker 3

I'd be happy to pick up a couple and ask if they would let us borrow some from them. I think we had two, but we didn't use them.

50:34Speaker 5

I think we used them today.

50:36Speaker 9

I own one at the senior center.

50:37Speaker 3

You use it like a little push cart for all your activities. You put your stuff on the seat and then you walk around.

50:45Speaker 9

I don't want to put her in one.

50:47Speaker 6

Is that a problem?

50:50Speaker 6

No, so I think the expo, I think we're good until our next meeting on that. Patrick and Tyler was perfect. And the high school's not going to park there. Right.

50:59Speaker 3

It's hard with the football. Well, they had gone away, right?

51:06 – 51:17Speaker 2

That was what had happened. What we did, yeah, for the Trades Expo, we asked the athletic director to put out multiple emails to all the sports groups so I could ask Katie Sullivan to do that as well. Oh, excellent. Because we didn't do that last night.

51:17Speaker 3

It was just bad luck, too, with the football team traveling.

51:19 – 51:44Speaker 2

I was going to say traveling a lot, as if traveling to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and going, So we did that with the Trades Expo because we needed all those lanes for the bucket trucks and all the apparatus that was part of the display. So we addressed it and it seemed to work out. That's great. If someone doesn't get the memo on parks there. Oh, it's the end of the world. It was better than not.

51:44Speaker 6

Perfect. All right, excellent. We're going to move on to 7, new business, our subcommittee update. Time's a little tight if I have to go.

51:52Speaker 10

So I'm going to change the word subcommittee. What actually happened today, we haven't had our subcommittee meeting yet. We're having it at the conclusion of this.

52:01Speaker 9

What we do today is met with. John, is that what you're doing? We met with the MTA today.

52:05Speaker 10

No, we met with the MTA today. That's what that meeting was that you're .

52:10Speaker 6

Oh, all right. John, you want to give us an update?

52:14 – 53:26Speaker 1

Yeah, I think what we've solidified, I guess, on the concept of the first thing we'll do is duplicate what Dairy has been doing for the last four or five years, which is the extended daily service and services on Saturday. And now it's a question of a lot of nuts and bolts in terms of how exactly to get that done. And we haven't picked a date yet for a start date, which is important so we all can aim for a target and then start getting the word out for people so we don't have a slow start up on it. And we're in the process of collecting data. Because of the relationship of Dairy and Clark to the Regional Planning Commission, there's a lot of data that they have out there on the use of the extended hours, going to doctors, going shopping, all those things that we think we can pull together in a way that is positive.

53:26 – 53:40Speaker 2

I saw her today at Market Basket, and one gentleman was blind with a service dog, and the other woman just needed assistance, and the driver was Johnny on the spot jumping out. Oh, yeah. That's great. That's great. You see them at Market Basket?

53:40 – 53:55Speaker 3

You see it at Walmart? At the Senior Center? John, have you heard anything? I'm not hearing on the board. We have someone in our neighborhood that used to always take the cart and go to River's Edge. And the past few times they said they don't do that anymore for Londonderry.

53:55Speaker 1

That's the first I've heard that. First I've heard that they go to River's Edge. You're talking about River's Edge in Bedford? In Manchester.

54:04Speaker 6

I was thinking Bedford too, but here.

54:07Speaker 1

He's taken it many times and it's just all of a sudden it's not available anymore. That's kind of a little bit off their patch.

54:16Speaker 6

I didn't realize they went up to Manchester either.

54:18Speaker 5

Tuesdays and Thursdays is what the website says that they would go. I don't know.

54:24Speaker 7

Well, today he had an appointment and my husband took him because they told him that they don't go there.

54:31Speaker 3

Yeah, and that was the same thing last time.

54:32Speaker 6

Yeah, the same thing last month.

54:35 – 55:02Speaker 10

Well, the issue that they brought up today, they educated us on sometimes they have to deny rights and it's not so much that there's no room. It's that the buses we have take like an hour to make a cycle. And they might say to someone, well, if we take you to River's Edge, we're taking a bus out of commission for 45 minutes, which is going to leave all these other people waiting to get home. I figured there might have been something that we weren't, you know.

55:03Speaker 9

You have to schedule.

55:03Speaker 10

I think they said they had four denials in the month of May or April.

55:08Speaker 5

April, they had seven. March, they had nine. They have a record of that denial.

55:13Speaker 10

They have all the data like you would. They even know who these people are. They deny. They can reach out and talk to them. So the three of you were able to go to this today?

55:21Speaker 1

Yeah, we did.

55:22 – 55:48Speaker 10

Thank you, because we weren't able to. That's wonderful. Thank you for coming. They were very helpful. They gave us a lot of information. They talked to us about... getting together a proposal to put before the RCC about getting some, like a grant process going that we can look for in the future, like next year. For funding. For funding. Right.

55:48 – 56:00Speaker 5

If there's a pilot program, that would start in the spring of 27. And then instead of there being a 50-50 split with the government, it's an 80-20 split.

56:03 – 56:32Speaker 10

So there's some good things. There's good things coming down. They were very informative today. But the issue was, what can we do to get our system going? And they said, well, according to our records, We don't think you want to add more buses. We think you just want to extend your time. Because the first thing is the buses cost, like, over $100,000, and second, there's a two-year wait. So we don't want more routes. We want to extend the routes we have.

56:32Speaker 3

Like the weekends and the Saturday and stuff.

56:35Speaker 5

So there's a person that takes the bus regularly and goes to work. Every day takes the last year over. From Londonderry? Yep. From Londonderry.

56:46Speaker 6

Yep. We're just unaware, right?

56:49 – 57:00Speaker 10

And we asked them for more data, and immediately, I don't know that gentleman's name. If that was Mike, was he like the coordinator of the schedule? The one that did most of the talking? The one that was down beside you.

57:00Speaker 5

Oh, I don't know.

57:01 – 57:21Speaker 10

The gentleman in the T-shirt. He basically said he's already asked his dispatchers to talk to the people when they call in to get more information. You want to go to blah, blah, blah. What would make it easier on you? Would you want to go at a different time? So they were already starting to gather more data for us. They were very accommodating.

57:21Speaker 6

So where do we go from here now? Like, is it going to start in a month?

57:25 – 57:36Speaker 10

Well, we're going to talk about this at our subcommittee meeting today, but basically we have to start putting our ducks in a row and come up with, we need a scope of the project. We need steps. We need an action plan.

57:38 – 57:56Speaker 5

excellent at some point it has to go before the town council yeah yes so Sean Mulholland was saying something about a PowerPoint presentation for the town council. So that's everything that has to get working. Anything we missed, John?

57:56Speaker 1

No, I think we covered it for what we've done.

57:58Speaker 6

And you're going to come up with a goal as to what, maybe three months down the road or a month down the road to start?

58:04 – 58:18Speaker 5

Well, we have to have all kinds of steps. I mean, so far I've put something into AI. trying to elicit, you know, what are the good points of all this, extending the hours and everything so we can have bullet points.

58:18Speaker 9

Is this something that could logically be ready for the expo? to present to the seniors that come that we have this sort of schedule?

58:26Speaker 1

Maybe a rough draft of something or sketching.

58:29Speaker 5

I don't think it's going to be operational. It's not going to be.

58:33Speaker 1

It's not going to be operational, but, you know, we can say look to the future.

58:37Speaker 10

We'll know a lot coming soon in the works. Look to the future.

58:39Speaker 1

Exciting. Over the next two months, we'll have a lot, a lot.

58:43 – 59:11Speaker 10

And I'll also say, adding to what John said, we need to also elicit more volunteers, whether it be this group or other groups, because there are other expertises we need to bring in here. For instance, one of the things we want to do is tie this into the master plan and the strategic plan. Right. Because those are heavily populated with instances where we wanted, or the residents want, I say we as a resident, want transportation.

59:11 – 59:22Speaker 5

Yeah, interesting thing from the master plan, ages 34 and under said lack of alternative transit options was a concern.

59:23Speaker 10

Even not seniors, but under 34.

59:25 – 59:44Speaker 6

Right. Other areas, you can take a bus. The transit system is viable. You don't even have to have a car in some areas. But, oh, you've really done a lot. I mean, I know you just had the one meeting, but this is more than I expected at, you know, tonight even. That's wonderful. And then you'll meet now. and have some time to think.

59:44Speaker 10

I was a little naive. I thought we were just going to sign a contract, write a check. Well, it's been a few years. That's simple.

59:51Speaker 3

I thought the same thing. Sign the contract, hand over the check.

59:54Speaker 6

Art Rugg was there today, and then they had

1:00:07Speaker 10

three people from their representation were there. Three or four. Three. Tracy, Mike, and I think it's Mike. Ben Herbert there?

1:00:15Speaker 5

Was Ben Herbert there? No. You'd have to show me a picture.

1:00:20Speaker 6

And where was the meeting? Was it in Salem?

1:00:22Speaker 5

It was at the MTA in Manchester.

1:00:23Speaker 6

Oh, Manchester. Oh, excellent.

1:00:26Speaker 5

Even though it says L Street, but that's deceptive. I know.

1:00:29 – 1:00:58Speaker 6

Because it was down at the corner. So I think that... Excellent review and summary of what you've already, like just you're diving into this. And again, you know, it's what John really accomplished with it and now we just have to make it happen. Yes. You'll also need to decide you want, you mentioned other people, but if you want more than just the three of you on this committee, too, and if you need another member or two, you know, I'm sure that we could open that up to the committee, too.

1:01:00 – 1:01:20Speaker 10

brains working on this, the more ideas, the more people at the table. I think we're going, we can't go before the town council and waste their time. Right, very true. We have to be ready with a good presentation. All our T's have to be crossed. Very much so. And we need, you know, fresh ideas.

1:01:22Speaker 5

We have to be very convincing.

1:01:24Speaker 6

Right. Yeah, absolutely. No, we do. And if we can all plan to be at that meeting when it happens because that's .

1:01:31 – 1:01:44Speaker 10

And if we could perhaps, and I don't know whether it's Kelly or you to do, could we always have like a little blurb on the agenda for an update? Because that will also be our goal that we have to have something ready for you guys.

1:01:50Speaker 6

Thank you guys, this is very impressive. It's just wonderful to see how we're evolving into accomplished things.

1:01:59 – 1:02:43Speaker 3

I just wanted to tell everybody that this is an exciting time for our group because a lot of times we were kind of like What are we going to accomplish? It's like so hard. But this is a great group. I am really impressed, and I am really excited about all the different things that we can do. Because Jerry knows I was at one point like, am I really? And Jim was like, I'm not going to take your resignation. But I just felt like we weren't really getting any. The expo was great, but then we kind of went, ugh. And then Fort John was working on the card thing for so long, and it wasn't getting any. He was getting, you know. It kind of put me in a point where I was kind of thinking, is anything ever going to get done? But I really, you know, really think you guys are just awesome. This is an exciting time. This is a great group of people.

1:02:44 – 1:02:59Speaker 6

And Lois, we haven't lost sight of the outreach that was kind of, 14 years ago that you and I, you know, so it's like that is still, if we can accomplish the transportation, which is something more concrete, then this gives me hope. Just one thing at a time.

1:02:59Speaker 9

You would say that because I was thinking.

1:03:01 – 1:03:25Speaker 6

I could read your mind. I was thinking the same thing. No, I know. You're great, Sherry. No, no, but this shows that we can move forward and we We have such a great group. I'm going to rush us through because I'm going to have two daughters with no mercy on it. Meredith, would you read the liaison report from our school board member? This is from Tim.

1:03:26 – 1:03:39Speaker 10

We have our school year wrapping up over the next two weeks. The upcoming year end ceremonies will be starting with the Senior Awards Night, formerly known as Oh Lord, you did this to me. Baccalaureate?

1:03:39Speaker 6

Oh, Baccalaureate. Thank you, Baccalaureate. One of those words.

1:03:43 – 1:05:05Speaker 10

Thank you. Wednesday, June 10th at 7 p.m. up in Concord at the Capital Center for the Arts. This is the annual event where the numerous scholarship awards are given out to our upcoming graduates. We have a groundbreaking ceremony scheduled for Tuesday, June 23rd at 3 PM. From there, the building construction will get going and continue through the summer and beyond. Is it? Yeah. Other than that, we don't have much news to share. Our next school board meeting will take place the evening of the groundbreaking ceremony at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 23rd. Thank you.

1:05:05 – 1:05:35Speaker 6

How great is legendary? All these great things going on, right? I love that. Thank you very much. Thank you to Tim for doing that for us. And if everyone is okay with it, Patrick, was there anything from the police department or pretty much everything good? Yeah. And Phil, you just know what we need when we need it. And Phil will update us in the next one. He's always there behind the scenes for us. And if I could have a motion to adjourn our meeting. Anyone have a...

1:05:35Speaker 10

I'll make a motion to adjourn. I'll second it.

1:05:38 – 1:05:49Speaker 6

And our second one, Lori, and then all in favor? Aye. Aye. Thank you, everyone, and look forward to a month from now, and reach out to one of myself, anyone.
