2:00 – 3:59Speaker 1

items um which and discussions and presentations which is the Ridgeline art rotary room and Jen do you do you want to talk about that or you want me to or sure that came up uh so Heather the art teacher at Ridgeline High um emailed last week I believe it was yes last week a series of photos which are attached in your packets um asking if these could be put on to display in the rotary room uh before right around federan State um I after some conversation with staff and Nancy and we kind of came to the conclusion that it's a little bit late notice to to try to scramble to get these all framed and hung in that time frame but what I did is recommended that she reach out to the library um for the short term maybe they could display the art at the library um but I think that the idea is there could be potential for that rotary room to have hanging art and in it within the room itself to add some some design and some themes and whatnot so anyway um maybe in the future we can if you know it's the desire of the commission discuss putting some maybe Student Art in the room or other art but yeah I mean um Heather clearly has a lot of talent um in her art class and I know that we have committed to the entryway uh to the rotary uh room to have the rotating art and we'd had that on an annual basis whether we want to add some type of other rotation that's more themed like a veterans or whatever we could consider that maybe uh before next meeting I'll try to get in the rotary room for those you haven't been I can take a few photos so you can see

3:57 – 5:54Speaker 1

what it looks like I mean there's there's there is quite a bit of wall space and there's also a lot of windows but um and I don't even remember if there's any art in there at all but uh if you stop if you're if you're in there if you're over by trail head you can stop by you if the door is locked to the event part you can go down to the pro shop and then just go down the hallway and you may not be able to get in the room but you can peer in it and uh I'll try to get a few photos for the next time so we can at least take a look and have it in our mind and if some comes up or or we'd want to commission a piece for the room and and also have a small display of Student Art we could uh take a look at that so food for thought all right anything else on that any comments or ideas do we want to include the Rotary Club in that discussion I is the ones that suggested it they're the ones that actually suggested it to Heather oh the rotary I did talk to Mark though that and and asked if they had any rights to um to us hanging anything in there and they don't even though they do have rights to the reservation they don't have rights to really say what goes on in that room however out of Good Tidings I think it would be um definitely feasible and understandable to reach out to them just so they're in the in the conversation but yes they're already aware of this well maybe if we get farther down that road we can have that conversation Katie uh one idea would maybe uh they could illustrate different recreational activities that we participate in L Lake golfing swimming tennis pickup ball biking you know you could do all the different recreational activities might be interesting yeah I mean there's this the the possibilities are endless and

5:52 – 7:50Speaker 1

certainly focusing on something that has meaning for our community uh makes sense okay well we'll try to get some pictures of the room um before our next meeting and then we can take a look at it and continue that conversation moving on to our next item unfinished and new business um we had had a discussion about some of our remaining 2024 budget and had talked about the never forget Garden uh the the plywood meter box thing um the uh an art m app kind of flyer the pickle ball box at Orchard Park and anything that we might do at the Harvard trail head expansion so I know is Derek here yet okay der is so maybe Derek could share with us uh recommendations um for the never forget Garden there at Orchard Park and the pictures up so H how's everybody doing tonight good thanks good so a few ideas we had was one idea was um we could increase the landscaping around it which would help disguise it um the other option would be create a small fence um around it um and the third option which I think would be the most practical um but you guys please decide would be lowering that panel down putting all those Outlets into one junction box and then possibly look at doing some sort of a wrap on that junction box uh just to make it more um pleasing so a little bit of an art piece or maybe something that's um um also in with that fall here as well and would would that H work have to be contracted out so the work for the electrical box would have to be contracted out we are looking at the price with that and we haven't gotten

7:48 – 9:48Speaker 1

any exact bids but we're looking right around $2,300 and then whatever the wrap would cost whatever the WAP would cost on what you guys would like to do from uh possibly an art so Comm Commissioners any questions for Derek or discussion or thoughts about do you have a preference I mean Derek the fence um would that be like a wooden fence that would have to re require maintenance it just be like a a side obscuring screening kind of fence yes we would still look at lowering it even if we did do the fencing um just so it's not in such um eyesight directly I think I'm personally in favor of the the option of lowering it and consolidating I know it being elevated like that was something that we discussed at the onset of the project um and then I guess tying to that is you have a lot of patriotic themed art that was just submitted by the high school so that might be an option if you're looking to to wrap that junction box in keeping with the theme of it being the never forget Garden Derek is that that um so that junction box is not very big are you talking about putting everything inside a larger junction box similar to what a Vista uses those big grein boxes or no no so that top the top box actually is the breaker box and then from there down is four sets of outlets um we could pretty much stick with the exact same breaker box size maybe a little bit larger but eliminate all the outlet boxes and put those inside that same box so the box that we'd be looking at would be lower to the ground possibly about 18 inches off the ground and then the box would be about a one foot square by six inches deep okay so that's that's pretty small

9:46 – 11:41Speaker 1

but it still still could be wrapped yeah I mean could you use what we used to use those dummy boxes for and cover cover it with the dummy box and then have a a swinging door or have the Box open like the other ones and then we could wrap that which would be more the larger size what we're used to seeing in those dummy boxes we had from years ago if we could find a box or something too those are really large though yeah if we're trying to have wrap a little bit I think it'd be inexpensive where you don't wrap it at all like once you see what it looks like but yeah I mean if it's that kind of disappear that point you could probably landcape around yeah I would I would say that would be more attractive than putting a larger box over is is there functionally a reason why it's so far off the ground like to plug lights in in the winter because 18 inch would be pretty low like with snow and Stu it would definitely have to be maintained like the other outlet boxes where if we did get a large snow we'd have to go through and kind of clean that area out um so those didn't get water inside up but as for having history um on why it was originally that way I I could not answer that Derek if it if we did go to the low box um the only impact of a lot of snow would be when it's I'm assuming used at winter glow so once everything was plugged in then does it just stay plugged in the whole time and there's a master switch somewhere um yes it would just stay plugged in the whole entire time um there wouldn't really be a master switch so much as uh just to unplug um the um Christmas decorations as needed oh because they leave them on all the time

11:42 – 13:40Speaker 1

yes is is this work that we'd be able to complete yet this calendar year having to contract it out I think absolutely uh when I was talking to U Brian he was definitely um he definitely was able to get a contractor out there you know in short term so do we have funding in the beautification light item still yeah yeah I I personally think it's really good use of it because I yeah I think it's a great idea I like the um idea of shortening it and increasing the Landscaping didn't the uh didn't the Daughters of the American Revolution weren't they going to maintain the they were going to um the part of the plan was to donate a rose that is a a specific cultivar um of row for this reason oh and I haven't heard back on that actually I could reach out well there's still I'm assuming they'd want the rows more up by the plaque so if we just got more grass kind of thing likes in there that would hide that lower box I think easily so what's the pleasure of the commission do you want to go with option number three the lower and then go with eventually in the spring Derek you could get uh some grasses to finish it off absolutely ma'am okay we'll need a motion I'll motion that we utilize funding from our beautification line item to lower the junction box in Orchard Park I second it's been moved and seconded any discussion on the motion seeing none all in favor I I opposed please show the motion unanimously passed I think that's a great use of our beautification F because that is not beautiful thank you

13:38 – 15:36Speaker 1

Derek for doing the research and we'll look forward to uh getting that done this year all right you're welcome you guys thank you very much thank you bye okay the art map flyer that was the player you I I did we did we ask you to think about that at all kale or I made that up in my mind okay well how difficult could would you mind coming up to the microphone I just had a quick question about that so he he just was able to um get the Adobe suite which would allow him to do a little designing right yes yeah um if we still had some funds left and would it be possible to create some kind of a little what I would call a trifold brochure yeah um on maybe on the parks and arts commission with our kind of mission and then some of the key projects and potentially at some point a map um that could be transferred from maybe your work on the website yeah I don't know what the cost of that would be or how many we would have printed but is that something we could get done before the end of the year probably get the template and stuff done before the end of the year and then you have printing in the New Year Speedy or something we use yeah does anybody have any interest in that or we can talk about the other items and come back to it if we have any funding be nice for people to know a little bit about the parks and arts commission and what our projects are and um eventually some kind of map I know that in the um Workshop uh with the city council they had an interest in like a an art district and like a map where people could walk to

15:33 – 17:31Speaker 1

some or drive and what that might look like so um we can come back to that let's see what kind of money we might have left um the pickle ball box that's just the cost of a wrap I have a uh email into uh our contact she was out last week so um I sent her a nudge today that's and that's one that we could take in and drop off it's just a box that's load into a pickup and there are no more of those we don't have any more of those by chance that one is a job box style that they bought down at Home Depot okay but no we don't have any more of the dummy boxes would were we planning on just doing whatever the design was that was there or look at something else she wanted to know if anybody else would had sponsored it last year and so I said C are the pictures of what it looked like I just haven't heard back from her yet that's as far as I got with it checking to see if she responded back but so we'll have to decide what we would want to wrap the box with because the wrap before was the something about boats or something it was the boat race and that that was one of the originals so that would be six years old now I mean we could do the same thing you know I mean it's just the the Box just got worn and weathered and lots of hands on it so but do we even have the template for that I'm sure that the uh the I don't people probably have okay so you're just going to keep you'll keep working on that and potentially there might be no cost uh no impact to our budet yes potentially potentially I will let you guys know as soon as I hear back from her okay okay um Harvard trail head

17:29 – 19:28Speaker 1

expansion Katie weren't you going to talk to someone about a bike rack or trying to remember I did contact the people um with greenstone and just saying it'd be fun to have a colorful bike and I think it was in our are things that we sent out like colorful bikes to lock up to you right something yeah I saw I sent that picture Jen I saw that Ina last weekend yeah I think that's that's exactly what I was thinking about so yeah but do we know what greenstone's going to do or did you talk to Green uh Katie what what did they end up didn't they say they were planning on bike rocks anyway yeah yeah so I was just suggesting something more you like colorful or even like a small you like a sculpture with a biker oh yeah there it is that's what I saw in yeah I think that's great yeah so I know they're in the process maybe Laura is going to report more on that or not idea okay I really like those bike bike racks you see them a lot they have few in Quarterlane yeah so these must not be call artist those aren't bike racks so but they're SAR to that you can lock up your bike to those yeah so they're metal sculptures that you can lock your bike up to you need to I just suggested they have something fun like that in case people wanted to stop from the trail maybe lock up their bikes and then walk around River District go to a restaurant up there because that's kind of the Hub there of you know Harvard and Indiana where there's little restaurants and coffee shop and things so it might be kind of fun for bikers to do that there's a few bike racks there right at the coffee shop but not if there's a big

19:26 – 21:25Speaker 1

group of people I've been there on the weekend where there's you know groups biking in the summer and that type of thing and there's not enough bike racks for a whole group to lock up to so it's close enough where they could maybe lock up to something there at that par like area but that's not so that hopefully greenstone is just going to do that as part of their Renault of the Park yeah okay so those are the projects that we had talked about um last time are there any other ideas um because I'm sure we have a little bit more money in the budget if there's something you'd like to see or that we could update or upgrade I think some money should be put towards bike safety so if it's maybe using some money towards painting uh the streets with more bike Lanes or sharos but that will be happening in the spring yeah uh and we're talking you not right now right yeah so this is money that we have to use this year any ideas that you have Jen no we've got the graffiti Barrels in how many Derek if you're still still on how many graffiti barrels did you take over to the high school uh so I took four graffiti barrels over to the high school last week um and I did talk to Heather she says she's hoping to have those done by oh probably this spring maybe a little bit earlier and you have plenty of the clear coat Derek to cover that the art once

21:22 – 23:22Speaker 1

you have the barrels back yeah we'll we'll buy that as needed but we we'll make sure to get those taken care of it seemed to do a lot better um holding it up to the weather and things Nancy yes I remember last year around the wintertime uh one of the members here suggested lighting up some of the roundabouts for the holidays are we doing that do we need lights for something like that well winter glow was looking at expanding and I know they expanded last year to the roundabout by the Athletic Club and the portal building and well those are those are a um a sponsored item I believe they're $5,000 so I don't I don't know if we have any takers for that yet so yeah I think that that's a goal of the of winter glow and I can find certainly find out if they have any takers but last meeting there I was out there wasn't yet but that's that was two weeks ago do you know where the next meeting say again did do you know when the next winter glow meeting I I can't hear you do you know when the next winter glow meeting is the next winter glow meeting uh with a day on that the 26th hang on here it is 23rd is opening 25th that Friday that Saturday so it's the 203rd actually it's the 23rd so it's a week before Thanksgiving this year where do they meet probably five or six I imagine right I can [Music] do the grand opening is at 5 five yeah on the 23 yeah with Ridgeline band and and Santa comes lots of fun things I guess the Ridgeline band is award-winning I heard too so that's cool

23:19 – 25:18Speaker 1

um okay is there any interest in the art map in flyer this year or do you want to table that for a while or is that something that you want I think at least an online version of it something that can be printed up rather than it would be nice to put those in our Farmers Market box for next spring yeah so it would be and have maybe some out in the front and yeah and it digital which can be sent out whatnot newslet Q code or something yeah QR code I think we have enough projects where you know we could do it now and also amend it later you know with additional products yeah or projects EXC Mel wouldn't it be easy to update once we had the format yeah all right well if you don't mind working on that and and seeing you know what you have by next meeting and thank you very much for that well you know I like that a lot and anytime that you know we can um have information available whether it's on a piece of paper like this or a stone or something like that I think people appreciate that absolutely yeah I I I don't think the average citizen has any knows anything about us for the most part or yeah what our projects might be or or what we're looking at so well I think by doing that you know I'm sure we'll draw more attention to us you know that's something we need you know it would be nice to see people sitting in those chairs um rather than just two and we have the kiosks at every Park that have pockets for Flyers so we can put them at

25:15 – 27:14Speaker 1

all the parks too yeah no I love that well we'll see what Mel comes up with and we do appreciate your effort you're a wiiz at this I understand all right any anything else on uh 2024 remaining projects we're pretty much down to the wire so um unless it's quick and easy it's probably not GNA happen all right um Pavilion historical Outlook Laura sadly no update I uh reached out to the historical society and they were still putting all their pieces together and so I at this point obviously definitely a 2025 project right well I think we already have that as as a potential carryover so I guess that's a good thing um again Laura Kramer Liberty Lake together uh we have a signed artist agreement and she's still shooting for end of first quarter is um for an install next year uh she said she'll just kind of keep us in the loop on on timing but nothing no significant progress at this point I was wondering because I know there was some subject conversation about the project with Council and that you know we're spending I think it was $440,000 budget and 30,000 is for the sculpture and then we have some remaining money for o cost overrides and infrastructure Laura how do you see us figuring out what what the the infrastructure should look like is that something the artist is goingon to I think yeah so part of the call is that they will provide um um dimensions and infrastructure requirements to support the sculpture so what I would Envision for this project is that it's going to be some kind of a concrete platform that the sculpture would then Mount to so the

27:11 – 29:10Speaker 1

the cost is in there to be able to construct and install whatever that platform is that's required and then also from the council discussion with possible lighting to go with it yeah yeah and you when I believe it was Lisa came and talked to us about kind of an overarching Landscaping plan so I know that's a separate budget but I think all of it you know would still tie together so the lighting piece of it would be part of that landscape design and the lighting would come out of our budget um but the Landscaping piece is the the separate budget right okay well thank you so yeah so the extra funding would be allocated for lighting and a mounting pedestal of some sort great well thank you for that update and finally on updates the trail head Map update uh Laura yes so um I want to say it was two months ago now uh we' received some feedback from the staff at Trailhead um that when the the building was constructed the architect had um indicated that the the vision for that space was that there was an art themed wall a community themed wall and then kind of the restaurant and so when we had sent them the submissions that we received uh asking for their feedback um there they were disappointed that there wasn't more emphasis on golf since that is going on the the wall directly adjacent to the Pro Shop um as a commission we decided to still move forward with the artists that we liked um adding on a budget for her to redo the concept so before you you have what her you have the original submission that we voted on um the yellow and then the blue hued um pallettes that she had

29:09 – 31:06Speaker 1

originally submitted and then the updated with the trail head map featured more prominently um her her comments on it when she sent it back was that the idea is that your your eye is immediately drawn to the trail head the golf portion of it but then when you come closer you can see in the background is many elements of the original map that was um part of her concept um some of the feedback just I had sent it to um to Jen and Nancy and then also uh the trail head staff again and um feedback initial feedback was that maybe the background is a little too dark so she did update uh send an updated pet and then trail head has also been utilized in the Sasquatch logo and so that was something that they felt was important to be included as well um so as a commission I think we just need to she is still primed and ready to go to have this installed by the end of this year so to have that budget uh line be fully spent by the end of the year um but as a commission we need to decide is this concept are we are we happy with it is it what we want to move forward with are there additional changes that we might want to see um she's been incredibly gracious and and Cooperative in making adjustments based on feedback um I don't want to push her limits on that too much but um would love to get everyone's feedback and um ideas on what direction we should go so it looks like from the three images Jen just had up there the the differences are the Sasquatch either in the color or in the light blue or the black black yeah and she said on that she was just playing around just popped it in there so it was

31:04 – 33:03Speaker 1

featured um and that's something that like if we like how that one is stepping off the course but we'd prefer it in the the black shadow or the blue shadow you know those are things that that we can make adjustments on but I don't know kind of a shadow right yeah know right I know I liked the black the outline because to your point it is yeah I did too um prefer this here you like the original one this one uh no I mean this one here oh do you like that prefer that to the original one that we voted on um or you prefer it to well are these the same slide no no that the background on this this was her original submission the background's darker so she's lightened up the background like you see on the screen and then and anything that she can do to maybe even um you know making those background images like a pale beige or pale yellow I don't know maybe that make can stand out a little bit more because you you don't think they're prominent enough with just the lightning I mean if you I guess it if we see it walking right up to it I mean I can make it out pretty good from here I think with the with it being the lighter shade of you can see it from afar but I think the intent of the concept again was that the the golf is a prominent feature but then once you're a little closer you can see all the more intricacies in the background that have the the map so that wall is like aund in it's long it's a big it's a big wall it is yeah and I don't have the dimens I want to say in or something did 100 by 70 70 by 100 something neighborhood I don't Dimensions off the

33:00 – 35:00Speaker 1

top of my head um and and it's not the entire wall it's just below the art light that's already prehung there um and again she had proposed not painting directly on the wall but doing the some paneling um for ease I guess for her um to be able to do in her Studio it's minimal disruption to the staff at trail head and then if we wanted for some reason it's movable um so we could relocate it if we needed to or if for any reason um any maintenance is required within the infrastructure of the wall so Electrical Plumbing or you know whatever other utilities might be running through there it's something that could easily be removed and then reinstalled well you know I like it because it's it's something that you would notice you wouldn't just walk by them and not notice it so I think that's you know the color combinations work really well for me uh I suggest we go ahead with that and I know she was trying to stay you know these are colors found on the city logo so she was trying to stay in theme with the city logo I like this Sasquatch too yeah I do too yeah is the current wall there at trail head isn't it dark green I think it's a gray I think most of the facility is a gray but I could be wrong I believe gray yeah is that you are here is that it's not accurate right well it's accurate on the trail map not on the overall Liberty L map so that is right but for the installation right it wouldn't be accurate cuz the that the pond is like down in the middle the w u the walls are

34:58 – 36:58Speaker 1

they're kind of gray because I took some pictures for the Student Art wall and they're gray a light lighter gray I have to double check on the the you are here position I guess at this point it's um be looking for a motion to move forward with this proposal or if there's any rework that is desired keeping in I think we'd then have to come back and reapo it well I really I like this version of the Sasquatch and I I don't if they're using the Sasquatch it makes sense to have it on there and and these are stakeholders and it I understand it's their business and they want to have the uh trail head art prominent that's not to say for a map someday um that we turn into a brochure we couldn't have a Whimsical map of our art projects I mean there's the sky the limit on that but for this location um I would agree with you Bob that and and David that um yeah I think I like this one I I'm glad she lighten the background it's much easier to see now do you want to see the third one one more time since we've been looking at these two so the S Squatch is that blue it doesn't stand out as much as the other two yeah I like the lighter background and the dark Sasquatch same same can you pull the other one back then the one that you like yeah so is this the one that Everyone likes the best I move that we accept the map as shown and receive back to the

36:56 – 38:54Speaker 1

artist and give go could you make the um second Sasquatch a little bigger perhaps I think that's a good I kind of like that I think she was fitting it in if you look at the handout that you have there's a guitar player um or a banjo player I guess Danny there I think she was trying to keep it in scale with that to not encroach on pavilion Park so we have a motion on the floor uh to accept this art and it's been seconded to move forward any discussion on the motion I think she did a nice job it's a pretty there's a lot going on there but she really was able to pull out the key key things yeah John are you you okay with this yes okay it looks good all right seeing no further discussion let's all vote uh those in favor I than opposed please show the motion is uh passed unanimously for uh the the uh the one on the wall guess it's the number one one I it option three thank you for going back to the artist and doing that and tell her please how much we appreciate her efforts and kind of pivoting because we didn't have all the information we should have had in the beginning but hopefully that won't happen again as we move forward um can you send that one out that last one out if you have not already it's not in here yep I'll forward the email yeah just we just got it right I received it right before the meeting so okay okay next on our agenda is the public art fund update uh Mark maoy

38:51 – 40:51Speaker 1

apologize he couldn't make it today but Jen will provide the update uh so at the council meeting where the public art funding was discussed in the workshop um it basically came down to council agreeing and voting on a 2% um what what do we want to call it fund um for five years to Sunset 2% of sales tax sales tax thank you I knew it was something um then they asked staff to bring back a proposal so I talked to Mark this morning and basically the budget is already set for this for right now for next year so he's he's confident um that we're not going to have any issues with that um and that in January or after budget season we'll continue working on this public art funding discussion with Council um because the mayor and Mark have also been having their own conversations about how to move forward um 2% is is to them seems a little bit high so we just need to continue this discussion um with the council Mark and Kyle will likely do that and then in our public art policy Nancy and I were talking um it's pretty it's got some pretty specific details regarding funding and such so I think it's time to update that document um it hasn't been updated since 2019 um so what I will probably do with mikel's help is go through and start just editing for the obvious updates do do a Redline copy and maybe in January we could start looking at that document to bring it up to date and then incorporate any decisions from Council into that as well was was there a cap on the 2% of sales tax no Laura at the meeting um the 2% of sales tax based on

40:47 – 42:43Speaker 1

current sales tax estimates was roughly $120,000 a year which is roughly our ask for this year it's it looks like we're asking for more but the rest is carryover from other projects and higher than what Mark was talking about last dollar amount yeah I mean when they were looking under our ask at that time yeah when they were looking at say a 1% then that was going to be less than what our budget has been which is like oh but the one thing is if they do decide to go um with the sales tax and the 2% it would be they discussed having it be only for four years is kind of experimental funding source and it would have a sunset clause and it could be renewed um but this Council made it very clear that they really really want to support the parks and arts commission public art is important to them and even though they know that they could grant us our requests like our budget we submitt this year they wanted to send more of a message they said that they prioritize it by dedicating a portion of a revenue Source uh to public art so like Jen said there still up for discussion but the good news is we have really strong support with our current Council and they just want to look at ways to make sure that that hopefully will continue in the future any I think that's such an important part of what the parks and are commission can expect in terms of funds moving on rather than every year Well are there going to be any funds or not you know

42:39 – 44:38Speaker 1

and and so we've done an outstanding job up to this point of our uh club or Club um of our commission and looking forward to to Future uh art that uh we'll be doing yeah it would be nice to have the dedicated funding source but uh we'll we'll see where that goes but at least we have our budget set for this next year and I think it's looking favorable that we be approved as submitted so we'll know uh sometime what in early December um at least if they uh go through the current budget request okay and once we get that we probably need to start right away on any of the big projects because as we've seen this year they take a long time all right next up the bike advisory report Katie okay we had our last meeting for the fall uh we'll probably start up again in the spring but we had uh Ben Turner come from public works department and he is in the future going to be developing a master plan for mapping our safe biking throughout our community uh he did report that there's going to be a pavement survey coming up where they're looking over all the streets and seeing what's going to be needing of repair what new bike Lanes maybe needed to be painted that type of thing will be happening this spring uh so we're just kind of staying in touch with him to keep uh that in mind that we want a master plan and that could be on a also a Whimsical map for biking throughout our community as similar as

44:35 – 46:34Speaker 1

what Spokane Valley has done uh so I left that for him to look at and then we had our uh Liberty Lake Police Department uh deputy chief Morgan was there and he suggested possibly in the springtime doing like a maybe a PSA or small podcast about bike safety that we might have on our Liberty Lake website uh so just to make uh bikers aware of safety things they need to be aware of also drivers what they need to be aware of too when they're driving with bikers in a bike lane next to them that type of thing so we could maybe have uh a police uh officer maybe be a part of that podcast we'll see what David has to say about some ideas about that but it could be a real positive thing for a community kind to continue the Community Education of bike safety so also uh our captain Abe Nesbit with our Liberty Lake uh fire uh fire department 3 out here he actually was called to a crash right when our meeting was supposed to be getting started so I saw him he came back around to our meeting and I talked to him briefly I think it's important to keep in touch with the fire department and the police department in case they recognize any hot spots because they're the ones being called to the emergencies and things that happen on our streets so we want to keep in close touch with them if they identify a hot spot for safety so we're basically aware of you know the main streets like apple way where it's there's a lot of cutouts and things to businesses so anyway so we're keeping a breath to that trying to be proactive and uh develop a plan to keep our Community safe for biking and pedestrians

so that was basically uh what we discussed and so we'll probably start up again in in March or when the snow melts people are going to start biking again and get the the community bikers uh back involved with the committee well I think that's awesome how much Community Support you've had and involvement in the committee and a plan and I think that's uh really exciting can't wait to hear what next year brings yeah Katie I have a question what's the sunset trail that is a trail that they're developing on the south end of Liberty Lake it's kind of a connecting trail from like Legacy Ridge down to towards pavilion Park you can look it up online there's a map that actually shows it so there's a a group of citizens from the south end of L Lake that are bikers that want to develop that pathway so is it just like of a tra that's really the only way to get to par yeah it's well I can't explain it exactly I saw the map of it online but um you can look it up at at the website and it does show the exact Trail but I think it's supposed to be kind of a connecting Trail so maybe goes through part of the Legacy Ridge uh community uhhuh yeah that's cool thank you thank you so much for that are any questions for Katie okay Jen looks like it's time for the staff report yep uh not too much this will go super fast we've got winter glow coming up uh Hometown Heroes banners will be coming down after Veterans Day sometime and we have a brand new tree lighting ceremony that's happening at Trailhead do we have a t an

48:27 – 50:23Speaker 1

official title just tree lighting ceremony it's it's in conjunction with the Liberty Lake Better Together group um and it's it's acting as a fundraiser for their efforts so Mel is working with them on getting that set up so you'll see a 14 foot tree um installed at trail head parking lot for the winter season what sorry when did you say that was when yes uh December 1 uh 5 5 p.m. which is a Sunday evening is that tree going to be on the corner there that's visible like from the traffic awesome kind of up behind the message board 5m you said yeah sounds like Ridgeline band will be there cherleader some singing uh safe oil burn Coco and such and then oh I wanted to share this uh oh harbard trail head hress I don't have any updates on steps moving forward on that uh project but I did the Lions Club arrum project phase 1.5 is complete it's beautiful let me sh share a picture um they haven't placed the etched there are like 20 existing etched favers from people who have purchased them yeah she so they're going to install those if they haven't done so already but there are three of these benches uh and paper pets throughout the our bedom now it's pretty neat um and then future funding discussions uh with Council probably January comp plan Parks plan just taking baby steps to get get going on that does you want to talk about art and then while he's going up can somebody does somebody want to commit to the November 19th Council

report is that when they're approving is that you going I know if we reapplied to be in person yeah that will be that same night correct good point thank you you you'll do it yes yes okay thanks Laura it's talking over you sorry no no you're fine perfect speaking of that do we have to go back to can we just include the art we've approved for trail head and a council report we don't have to say that again the trail head whimsicle map we just approved yeah would we just show that to council and Report yeah okay yeah I don't they don't to approve it they've approved the project so I was going to put in the update slide yeah she's and she's already received her first payment so yeah we're on our way okay um so I was playing with the parks Arts commission page so now there's three new sub pages on there so whenever you all have a chance to go through it get your opinion on things that may need to be changed so let's go to the third one down first Jen asked me to get the public art policy and procedures on there and so we put the ordinance in the procedur so if anyone needs to reference it that's available um if you go to the middle one Evan so I threw together just a Google map um of the art in the community so if you hover over the map EV you can scroll in and out with the RO e on the mouse so if you want to click on one of those so for example tra that's a the Town Square the the art boxes you can click on different ones that has the coordinates we'll take you there so there's the map and then if you want to go to the very first one on this side Evan and then I put up I kind of showed you guys this last time but I did put it live as of now when we can always adjust but if you want to click on box wraps so you click on it then it'll have

52:22 – 53:54Speaker 1

all our box wraps in the community and if you click on each each one so so go ahead and click on that first one and then it'll have more pictures of it where it's located coordinates wise someone wants to use GPS to get there and just pictures of it so of all the art that we had on that list that me and Jen showed a couple weeks ago that is all up there um some of the art pieces still don't have some names for and for those I just put the corner streets for now so I would just ask everyone to take a look at it when they get a chance and suggestions comments next meeting would be great thank you I love that you can drill down that's awesome okay anything else no that that is all I have Laura thank you so much for doing the report appreciate that um December 2nd is our next meeting I don't see any reason not to have it then um and that's all we have does anybody have anything else do we have a motion then I so move that we close the agenda okay we have a second moved and seconded we close the agenda and adjourn all in favor oppos please show that one always passes unanimously thanks everyone you know I I want to
