Public Input and Discussion on King Arthur Boulevard Traffic Calming Improvements
ADMINISTRATIVE COMMENTS: Staff will present information regarding the King Arthur Boulevard traffic calming measures and are seeking public input and council discussion. RECOMMENDATION: That the City Council conduct the public input session and discussion as set forth in the caption.
Approval of Change Order #2 for King Arthur Boulevard Traffic Calming Project in the Amount of $85,888 and Authorization for the City Manager, or Her Designee, to Execute the Change Order.
ADMINISTRATIVE COMMENTS: To address documented speeding along King Arthur Boulevard, staff initiated a traffic calming project to improve roadway safety and neighborhood livability. City Council awarded the construction bid on April 6, 2026, and improvements included on-street parallel parking, protected bike lanes, curb bump-outs, pedestrian refuge areas, crosswalks, and ADA-compliant ramps along the 1.5-mile corridor. Following substantial completion, resident feedback prompted additional analysis. The subject change order #2 for $85,888 will remove bicycle lane barriers and add sensory warning buttons. RECOMMENDATION: That the City Council approve the change order and authorize the City Manager, or her designee, to execute the change order as set forth in the caption above.
