Town Council - Regular Meeting

Uh, first thing is we got the red pickup truck into the body shop and back. Excellent. Thank you for the help. Once I got into the to replace the bedside that was damaged, found a bunch of rust under it and the driver's side was already starting to bubble with rust. So, while they had it there, they did the other side of the bed also.

So, I I believe I did write it down. I think the the bill was like $4,300 to do both sides, but they were able to keep it and do it and get it all done for us. uh talked to Patrick a week or so ago about uh the trees on Washington Street at Sean W. I talked with them. They should have them done before the end of this week. Yeah. And same with Bible for the other back. They're just cutting completely down. Oh, perfect. Perfect. They were just growing so far out that we weren't able to get to the curb lines to plow last year and so we wanted to get with them first before we did anything. So that's good that they're taking care of it.

Great. Uh the community crossings grant paving is complete for this year. They got everything done. Uh the new the application period for 2025 opened October 1st and it closes on the 31st. So, that's all figured out now. I've got all the information to Jacqueline. She just has to do the application and get it submitted. Okay.

Uh then we got all the the water main break patches. Uh all the street patch sewer patches that were needed to be done were completed. Luckily, Milestone worked with us so they could get the guys to get the water and sewer done and they kind of put off the patches so they could do that all at one shot so we didn't have to deal with that. And the only other thing is the tower progress. It's they're painting right now. I saw that.

So, they should have probably about another week to week and a half of painting and then they will be in to start doing the the piping on the inside. Supposed to be online by the end of October. And then there will be a twoe window before the other one comes down to make sure everything is working on a new tower

in case we have to switch back to the old if something comes up. And probably the the paving and stuff will be probably put off. I'm guessing we'll be put off till spring. We're not going to have enough time to the weather's going to turn on us before they get the old tower down to get anything sight work done. So that's all we got. Thank you,

Uh our activities for September 2025 had a total of 178 calls for service. Of that we had 15 assists to St. County Police Department had unwanted person. Osborne Road, a burglary on Osborne Road, burglary Indian School Road, which is Rose Lake subdivision. on a 911 hangup on Pierce Road. Suspicious person on Kennallorth Road. Uh had an assault at Clearwater Trailer Park. Welfare check on New Road. Suspicious person on Oak Road. Mental investigation Riley Road. A suicide on Oak Road. An alarm on Quinn Road. Suicide on Oak Road. An alarm on Quinn Road. Criminal mischief New Road. Juvenile complaint on New Road. Then uh one we had a domestic at Clearwater trailer park and a fight on Roosevelt Road took a total of 13 reports for the month. Two noncriminal information, two crash reports, one operating while intoxicated, one theft, one possession of a controlled substance, one driving of a license, one animal bite, one mental investigation, uh one threat report, motor vehicle theft, and then a battery report. of that we had five arrests for the month. One arrest for theft, an arrest for operating while intoxicated, one arrest for possession of controlled substance, one driving never license, and one arrest for motor vehicle theft. Had a total of 19 tickets written for the month, and two local ordinance violations. Um, and just we've been working with everything, just trying to get everything prepared except for the fall festival, 10th annual fall festival this year for this upcoming weekend. So far with FFA, we have a total of we have 15 students volunteered for the day. National Honor Cider is going to be out as well as DECA and then Art Club will be doing face painting as they have done in the past.

So they need a big need they will need a table. Yes. Okay. So I know in the couple last couple years we put them up front. Um so we can probably do that. Yeah, we'll go over that Thursday. We put them up by the Lions Club because they're doing kids. So, can you bring your tent for them? Yes. Thank you. Yep. I have a question. While we're still in meeting, have you heard anything from the guy who owns the old truck lift place about whether when he'll be doing the window? I have not. He has concrete up there, the concrete blocks and some of that mixture that he dropped off last month. That was the last that I reach out to him, please.

I know he was wanting before winter. He was wanting that done before winter and um the paint on the outside as well. But he does have the materials there. He dropped the last was the he's got concrete there and a cement mixer. So he dropped a bunch of stuff one night when we were working. Just reach out and you know let him know that the board is asking about when he thinks Yeah. that window will be fixed and we've been trying to coordinate with them for between with EDC and RC to be able to meet up with them. So yeah, I'd like to see it done before winter. It's been too long, you know. It's bad look. It looks terrible.

Yeah, I've been talking to him at least once a month when he's every time when he's there just following up to see what progress he has. Thank you. Can you send us digital? You did? I took a picture first day I saw it, but I'm guessing it's probably been there three weeks or Yeah, probably about two and a half. Yeah. Two and a half meters. I have to go back and look on Washington. There's one on Lake Street. That's on the property line, too.

Okay. Okay. They can't park in that parking lot anymore because somebody owns the old church parking lot. So that's on the other side up against the road on the property line. They'll be leaving in another week or so probably. But I'll take it to Florida. I didn't really want to say anything about this one if it doesn't stay long. But yeah. Yeah. As far as for being occupied, they're allowed to. They have like your mother-in-law suite basically kind of forget out of town guest, but after that point, they can't. They just moved to the house. Anything else on that? Nope.

RDC. Um, we have a meeting scheduled for October 27th. Hopefully everybody can be there for that. Um, and I was notified by Daniel and I knew this was going to happen, but he let me know this past week that we will probably be getting 50% less of the money we normally get twice a year in in next year anyway. Probably for the next couple years I guess. So may have to go on home for that. um the cap that they put on property taxes that everybody was able to apply for is mostly the reason. So,

The path is looking great. whoever you had come in to take care of all that and cut things back. It's I don't know that it's been cut back yet, but it's been sprayed. Huge difference. She went from some areas where there was about 2 feet maybe and you're getting briars everywhere and now it's 4 foot minimum all the way through. Minimum. There's lots of areas that were different. It can burn if there's a burn, but it's going to rain tomorrow. So, as long as there's not if there's still a burn ban on Friday, they will not do it. Um Aaron wanted me to bring that up tonight. He just messaged me. But with the rain that we have coming, as long as the burn bands lifted, they're going to do that and just wanted the fire department and police department to know that's their plan. So, that really is all I have at 6:52 p.m.

So, we have the budget hearing today. What day do you have? Which meeting do you have for the adoption? This one. The next one. Good. Cool. All I want to ask. But for that, we need last year's last year's plus this year's. We always like, we usually like to see three. Remember, we've done three years. But I didn't. Even if we just have this year so we can see what it was versus what it will be because what we saw today with what it will be tells us nothing about whether it went up down where the money's going versus where it is now.
