City Council - Special Meeting

stepped out but we'll go get start here she comes good evening everyone it is 6 PM uh i' would like to call our special city council meeting for today January 30th 2025 to order if you don't mind we to our Pledge of Allegiance and our prayers please IED Al to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands one nation under God indivisible with liy and justice for all honor the Texas flag I pledge ALG to the Texas one State under God one and indivisible yes let us pray our most gracious Heavenly Father we ask that you be with us this evening lead guide and direct us through our meeting that the decisions made and rendered tonight will be for the betterment of our city our citizens as well as this Council we ask that you have your hand of mercy upon all of the people in Washington after the tragedy last night that they have endured we ask that you be with the US skating team and all and help them through the loss that they are enduring we ask all of these things in your most gracious name amen amen right big long agenda tonight uh it is 6:02 PM we are going to adjourn and go into executive session and uh we shall return shortly remind y all cameras and video audio are on we should be back momentarily

all right everyone it is 6:15 p.m. I'd like to reconvene our regular city council meeting uh after our executive session do we have any matters to discuss uh Mr Mayor I move we approve a settlement of the Whit tail litigation on the general terms of the city paying the sum of $245,000 in return for the land being deeded back to the city and furthermore move we authorize the mayor and the City attorney to take the necessary steps to formalize the settlement of all claims and dismissal of this pending litigation have a motion I hear second I'll second we have a motion in a second to uh approve the settlement with white tail development for $245,000 uh payable by the city ofit and authorize the mayor and City attorney to proceed all in favor I any opposed motion carries so we don't have one more thing for toight make a motion we motion second motion and a second to adjourn all in favor any oppos adjourn 6
