it here. Understand. I'm just telling them to go ahead and go.
Matthew Barnes here with from City Planning and Development. The ordinance two hundred sixty thousand four and fifty two, which is a council approved signage plan for the Berkeley Riverfront area. It's in the 4th Council District within the greater downtown area plan. The site that is looked to be for the signage plan is highlighted in yellow. It's not for the entire Berkeley Riverfront area. This is for the space that is strictly the current landing. There is actually two other existing signage plans within the Berkeley Riverfront area, highlighted by blue and green there. This is the proposed signage plan. It shows tenant signage is then pink. Development signage, there's blue.
Digital wayfinding signage in the yellow as well as the north facing entertainment district sign and a south facing sign. So these are the intent of the council approved signage plan. It's for creating integrating with the architecture and uniformed. I won't go over the timeline due to requested that. So proposed signage, this is the weight finding signage.
They did work with staff to reduce the overall to to They are proposing to have do signage that. On the reverse side towards Berkeley Parkway. These are the overall permit sign types or really just permit for any sign type that is allowed within a nonresidential
going able sure we're that make
that the And we're we're working going with that
technology.
Working with. 100 square feet, there's a 40 max. Over And that, up to 1,200 square feet, there's a maximum of 10 within the district. For wall signs, it's 75 square feet or 20% of and all commutable then monument signs are square feet. They did update the plan today to have 15% of window and door coverage.
Anything over that must be transparent between the three to six foot range. The applicant is proposing off-site advertisement. They have resubmitted plans. Off-site advertisement is not generally permitted unless there's strict site locational standards. The City Planning Commission did add a condition that allowed for off-site advertisement on the digital wayfinding and Southeastern Entertainment District sign.
The applicant did revise plans today to be consistent with that language and has updated that plan. I do not know if that's part of the package that has currently been provided to council, though. With that, the City Plan Commission recommended approval subject to conditions of the Berkeley Riverfront
