I'm gonna go ahead and call the nominating and rules committee meeting to order. First item of business, please mark your attendance. Next item of business is election of a chair. Nominee Chris Gibson. Second. Any other nominations? I have a motion and second. Do we need to take a vote on that? Yes, please. All in favor signify by saying aye. Aye. Any opposed like sign. Next item of business is approval of minutes. I'll give you a moment to review and then I'll entertain a motion.

0:441

Move that we accept minutes as read unless there are any corrections.

0:482

Second.

0:500

I have a motion and second. All in favor signify by saying aye. Aye. Any opposed like sign. New business, we have none.

0:59 – 1:460

Pending items, we have none. Any other business by the committee? I do have one item that I wanna, I'm gonna bring this up at the full council as well but I'm gonna go ahead and bring up to this committee just because we are in charge of establishing the smaller committees. In the interest of clear oversight, strong community engagement and more efficient coordination across our city's quality of life services, I respectfully request that the committee take action to reestablish the Public Services Committee as a standing committee of the City Council and enhance the involvement of the Parks and Recreation Community Advisory Board so that both bodies actively serve as a structured resource to the Parks and Recreations Department.

1:472

Sounds good. You need a motion on that or Please. Was that a motion?

1:561

Have to and then we

1:570

I'll take a motion and then I'll I'll that recommendation. Yeah,

2:012

I'll second or make the motion.

2:030

I have a motion second. All in favor signify by saying aye. Aye. Any opposed, lock sign and I will carry that on to counsel.

2:101

You didn't give me time to discuss because I wanted to

2:130

I apologize.

2:15 – 2:341

I wanted to ask a question because while I do think that parks and recs is important when you talk about it, but you're saying starting back the actual Public Services Committee. Now, that put parks and recs and then J. T. All of them in the same back where they were?

2:340

That's correct, yes.

2:40 – 3:022

Q. Makes sense. It was disbanded because they didn't have a lot of meetings going on at the time and they just thought, well, it's kind of a have people show up and we don't any business, but apparently it is gaining importance and there's more So it's probably worthy of having committee and act again. And if there's no business, like the rest of us, you just call the meeting for lack of an agenda item.

3:023

Will you want them monthly or every three months?

3:070

I think we can do those quarterly at this point and then as needed. I like that idea.

3:131

Quarterly and as needed. And

3:153

will there be an open discussion about who wants to be on it?

3:220

I will ask for those volunteers tonight along with the other committees that we're going to be appointing.

3:291

Then I guess the next question would be if the full council agrees, when would that

3:35 – 3:520

start? Effective immediately. Any other comments, questions? I apologize, Doctor. Coleman, for getting ahead of the horse.

3:521

No, no, no, you're good.

3:56 – 4:070

Anything else by the committee? Next item of business will be adjournment. So moved. Second. We stand adjourned. Thank you all.
