Motion seconded forward to full council. So in summary, I think this is seven vehicles. We'll make 24 payments of 58,098.53. There'll be a balloon payment at the end of 1,700,000.0. So we'll pay a total of, looks like 3,000,000, I'm sorry, 2,000,000.

2:29 – 2:54Speaker 1

We'll pay a total of about, are we gonna do the balloon payment? Do we usually do the balloon payment? Yeah. We'll pay a total of $3100000.0.2.9 of that will be principal and the interest will be about $210,316.31 Do we have any questions from the committee? Anything else from staff in attendance? Mr. Purtis?

2:57 – 3:23Speaker 3

I did want to clarify that this is the third re up of that same group of seven trucks. We started that that six years ago now. And as has been the case, we anticipate that the dealer will execute the buyback at the end of that contract term as we've done the previous two.

3:23Speaker 1

And just to clarify, these aren't the same seven trucks. Are new

3:26Speaker 3

That is correct. Are. It is new Yes.

3:28Speaker 1

Are all twenty twenty six trucks.

3:30Speaker 3

That is correct. They're brand new trucks.

3:31Speaker 1

My mistake. I know after two or three

3:35Speaker 4

years the repair and maintenance costs starts being really high on these trucks.

3:39Speaker 1

I know from personal experience.

3:41Speaker 3

This has been very successful for the city and the sanitation department.

3:46Speaker 1

And also getting to pay it out over months instead of having to come up with it all at one time.

3:51 – 4:18Speaker 1

Move forward to full council. Second.

6:47 – 7:26Speaker 1

I've seconded forward to full council. Any questions or comments from the committee? Anything from staff or the public in attendance? If not, please record your vote on whether or not to forward resolution 26,036 to full counsel. That was the last item under new business. I'm not aware of any pending items for the finance committee. Does anybody on the committee have any other business for us today? I know Mr. Stearns, our Parks Director, wanted to give us an update on some of the events that they've had going on.

7:28 – 7:51Speaker 5

Just want to give you guys a quick update on the basketball season we just concluded. We had six weeks of youth basketball. We had nearly nine seventy five kids signed up for basketball. 37 games every Saturday over the last six weeks. We had 7,717 paid attendees that attended to basketball.

7:53 – 8:16Speaker 5

Between all of our expenses, revenue, etcetera, we made an overall net of $3,030.92 And so youth basketball is pretty solid. Concessions were really well. Doing a really good job with expenses. Staff has done a really good job on that. So I just wanted to give you guys a quick summary of youth basketball.

8:16 – 8:45Speaker 5

Field sports will start this weekend. So in another six weeks I'll bring another summary back to you guys. Also have a quick summary of the two volleyball tournaments that we held back in January, February. There was question about the revenue that we generated in that tournament. We generated about $70,000 if I can thousand dollars we generated on those two tournaments.

8:46 – 9:27Speaker 5

On the icebreaker, which was the first one, was the largest one. We ended up profiting about $995 on that tournament. It had a lot larger. And then in the We Care tournament, we ended up losing about $7,500 So those two tournaments in the tournament business ourselves, we really lost about $6,505 on those tournaments. So I can get you guys if you'd like, I can email you an expense report if you want to see that, have a look at that. It's really tough to be in a tournament business. That's why we've kind of stepped away from that realm in Parks and Rec and really concentrated mostly on our youth sports programs. Anybody have any questions, I'd be glad to entertain those.

9:27 – 9:45Speaker 4

I have some questions that doesn't return to that. I guess here lately I've been people ask me about the way that they're going to pay by credit card and stuff like that. And I keep wanting what what about all these people that don't have credit cards? So

9:45 – 10:24Speaker 5

we are we are actually demoing a cashless option tomorrow with the finance department. We hope to probably not by opening day of field sports on the April 4, but by the April 11, we hope to be able to offer a cashless option at all of our events. And we'll continue to purchase that equipment throughout the season to be able to be cashless at all our facilities. We're not going to go completely cashless. We're going to offer a cashless option. So you'll still be able to pay cash at the gate and the door and the concessions, but we will offer that option to use credit, debit card for those events.

10:24 – 10:54Speaker 4

Well, I asked that question. You know, lot of people asked me about talking with with me about that, but, you know, matter of fact, they would I guess, because I worked at ASU one time, they've talked about how issue was losing a lot of money behind the the cash of steel. And I I don't for the people in Jonesboro, they don't have cards or that type thing. It kinda bothers me that they can't be able to enjoy the other items that other people do that have a card.

10:55 – 11:22Speaker 5

Our goal in parks is to never discriminate against people that don't have access to credit or debit cards cards or don't want to send their kids with the credit or debit card to an event. But we want to offer that option for those people that feel like that's easier for them. And so we will not ever be completely cashless unless told differently. But we want to offer that option for accounting purposes as well as a lot of people that's all the transaction that they use.

11:23 – 11:48Speaker 4

I get and then the other question, there will there be bargain days over at the pool? You know, I have a lot of people a lot of people have talked to me about how high it cost to get into the the pool over there. And and the only thing I can do is just as as a council person just ask the questions, you know, will there be days or will the tickets be the same? What what how is that going to work this summer?

11:48 – 12:06Speaker 5

Well, are you so you're asking me if the fees be the same or the? Yeah. So, we don't anticipate changing the fees, the entry fees to our events at this time. We're going to evaluate that probably over the next six months as we go into this cashless transaction opportunity for ourselves, but we don't anticipate changing our fees.

12:07 – 12:18Speaker 6

There's such a thing as season pass where someone can, you know, get a family season pass and save money by doing that instead of paying buying individual tickets, you know?

12:18 – 12:29Speaker 5

Yes, ma'am. That's correct. We're gonna offer season pass for field sports this year. You can buy those at the community center now or you'll be able to buy those at the gate. We're offering a season pass at the pool this year.

12:29Speaker 5

To save money.

12:30Speaker 6

So that's that would be a little bit cheaper than buying individual tickets for a family.

12:34Speaker 5

Yes, ma'am. And the sea the pool season passes, they'll be a monthly and a seasonal. Okay.

12:42Speaker 6

Had those growing up but they were like a dollar.

12:46Speaker 5

You had a season pass, you're a big dog. You. Appreciate So

12:53 – 13:10Speaker 1

if there's no other business, we'll move into public comments. It gives the public a chance to comment on something we haven't already discussed on today's agenda. Anybody want to make a public comment? If not, we'll move to the next item which is adjournment. So moved.

13:11Speaker 1

All in favor say aye. Aye. Any opposed? We stand adjourned. Thank you.
