City Council - Regular Meeting

Since 2006, the River of Life Church has generous generously made an annual contribution donation to the city. These donations that they give so wonderfully assisted tremendously by providing scholarships for approximately 213 children to participate in the summer enrichment programs and summer day camp programs, which included both educational and recreational field trips. These funds also provided staff supervision, camp shirts, book bags, school supplies, hygiene products, food, arts, and crafts kits, board games, and various other supplies such as balls and group games. The donation from the River of Life Church makes a huge difference in our ability to be able to do these these things for our children in the community who otherwise might not have that opportunity to to be able to enjoy themselves and learn things, learn new things, make new friends. So, the city cannot emphasize enough the value of us doing this and providing a safe place for the kids. And again, like I said, without this contribution, it it uh it makes it a lot it would make it a lot harder to do what we want to do. And I want to thank all of you. And if I could,

I want to have some of your congregation. The whole the whole bunch. Yes. Yes, sir. I want all of them. See, I usually I usually have them all come up. Yes, sir. Because they all contributed. Yes. Absolutely. Absolutely. Oh, my family. Got a little moment.

We made a book. Thank you. This has all the photos. We have some thank you notes. This is for you to enjoy. You are a wonderful group. Thank you so much. Yes sir. Okay. You had you had somebody to hand it off to. Good. Yeah. Okay. Again, thank you very much for coming and all of you that are members of the Tim River Life Church. I can't thank you enough on behalf of city of Jacksonville for opening your hearts up and giving us this contribution. And again, like I said, it's for the children. Yes, sir.

It's it's not going to go it's not going to go to pay salaries or anything going towards the children. All right. I'll turn it over to you. Yes, sir. So, um on behalf of Pastor Chris, Pastor Miriam, and the River of Life family, we are um honored. We're always honored to um just support our city. We believe in our city. We we believe in our families and we absolutely believe in the children. Um and because we are blessed, we want to be a blessing to our city. So again, on behalf of the entire family and our pastors, we just thank you for what you do and we are always standing with um with with you to support um the children and the youth of Jacksonville, North Carolina.
