Yes. Yes, chair. First off, thank you. Want to thank the commission for your flexibility. Um, as our normally and regularly scheduled meeting last week was cancelled due to the uh wonderful treelighting celebration we had at the forum. So, um, just a couple of uh really quick house cleaning items. Um, item 6A is a consent item, meaning that we just staff just provided you with the staff report and would be available to answer any questions should you uh elect to pull it. Um, for those questions, otherwise we would just vote on the extension of the uh design review approval. Um next uh next item is uh the public hearing that was scheduled for last for our last meeting um is going to be continued to a date certain which would be January 13th. Um one of the one of the issues is that because we had a special hearing, we didn't have the proper timing to notify the public. So we need to make sure that when we cancel a meeting that we continue those items to the next scheduled meeting which would now be January 13th. So um so that will be an action that needs to be taken by the planning commission this evening. And then the last item is that um the planning commission review that uh was scheduled for this evening at Saminsky Park. I believe um the uh parks and reccks division and public works have both requested that that item be continued to allow some more time to work out some M uh maintenance and operations um associated with the community garden and some of the upgrades that are going to be be made to

the park. Um and so that item two will be continued and therefore um once we um begin the next phase and these things these items are read you can vote accordingly and then we'll be done. Okay. Item 6A, consent items. a six-month timelmit extension for the construction of an eightstory mixeduse building consisting of 150 residential units, commercial/ retail space and associated parking on an approximately 41,000 square foot HC historic core zone property located at 101 through 111 North Labraa Avenue.

Mr. B, we had we had a question on that consent item. If we want to just go ahead and approve that, right? Yes, we everybody read the report and that is there a motion for consent to approve it? I move that we approve the six-month extension for DR24-000058 and resolution number 2008 dated November 6, 2024. Second. Been properly moved and second. Item 7A, a public hearing to consider an application by Ralph Qua Jr. representing IHOP for special use permit number 25-000020 SUP25 000020 to allow the sale of distilled spirits for on-site consumption within an existing restaurant on a C2AR3 zone property at 4410 West Century Boulevard. Chairman, the foul is present and uh staff as well as well as a matter of procedure, this item will be continued to the January 13th meeting. Um and so now we have a day certain. Um and so at your um discretion, you can vote to approve the continuence. I

make a motion. And we're voting to continue this till our next meeting which is in January 13th. Correct. What what Mr. Chairman, may I ask a question? Yes. What is the possibility of continuing it to the February meeting? I won't be here in January and I would really like to be here. I have several questions that I'd like to put forth to the applicant and even to staff. Um, I don't know if I should do it now or I'd like to move to continue it to the February meeting. Um, before I wish everybody a very merry Christmas and happy new year, I wanted to ask staff if there's any idea if the uh underpass area of the freeway, the 405 on uh Sentry Boulevard. Any cleanup scheduled? Any lighting scheduled? Anything? Because it is a mess.

Yes, we we um have an opportunity to partner with public works in conjunction with a grant opportunity to um clean up our um underpasses and freeway off on and off ramps throughout the city. And so that one is uh a project that has been identified. Um, and so we're working towards um um plotting out a a path forward to what would be the best um way to u improve that area. But lighting and landscaping and and some sort of design is all being um uh vetted and um looked at to improve that. So

is the target date before to do that? is the target date before the uh World Cup. We hope so. That's the plan. Good. Very good, good news. Good to hear. And uh besides that, I did want to wish everybody a blessed Christmas. I hope that you have a wonderful, wonderful Christmas surrounded by family, friends, pets, and uh that you have a beautiful time and that you have a happy new year. and um I'll miss you for I guess the January meeting, but I will be at the January meeting. I've been walking through the doors of the planning department since 1988 when I first got my license. I don't know what you guys were doing then, but I was up upstairs um putting in applications for permits and I it is much much much improved and a lot of that thanks to Bernard. thank you Mr. Chair. Um first let me give a report from uh District One. Um thank you to all that attended the very successful uh holiday boy drive house very held. She really appreciates the number of support boys in India very very happy she is. Uh the other thing personally I have two more uh I'm looking at your faces and uh I know you've done a lot the rough year. Thank you for sticking in there uh hanging in. Um I know it's not easy but we really it really shows how community knows just how blessed we are to have this to come. really really as they say next leveling.

So um to everyone I wish a merry Christmas, happy Hanukkah, get some rest because it's going to be another new year very quick

and uh we're going to need help to move on. So thank you. Okay, I want to say merry Christmas to each and every one of you. I I want to relate u something that is very important that we recognize uh what this season is all about. I know it's a lot of times we think about gifts and which is important as well but it's about our our Jesus Christ our savior the one who came here to save us from our from our sins and that we would be able to have a everlasting life. That's the main purpose of of the Christmas. Um, and I just want us to recognize that and believe that and because it's important. Um, you know, our world is changing. You can see it. I mean, when you turn on the TV, turn on the radio, you can see it changing. So, we just have to, as we say in our church, you have to stay prayed up to stay up. I want to say again, merry Christmas. I want to thank the staff. You guys have done a tremendous job. You guys just don't know what you guys have done. It's really been you've helped us out a lot a lot. And I want to thank uh Mr. Bernard

for your your hard work. I want to thank you for the t-shirts, the sweatshirts. Next level. I'm wearing them everywhere I go now. Especially in Englewood, I wear them. And now that you can wear them because it's cold, you can wear your sweatshirts. So, um, and then when it comes to March, we can wear the white ones because now we're going into the spring months.
