Thank you all for coming here. Welcome to the first district community meeting of the city of Englewood. There are many familiar faces among the audience. You have already come here. This is not our first community meeting for District 1. First of all, I am your Councilwoman Gloria Gray. Thank you. And I am proud to serve you as your councilwoman. It is an honour for me to present you in the city council. And tonight, I will introduce you to some of the unique officials present here. No doubt, you are standing next to me. That is why they will come and applaud you. But this is actually an opportunity to know about the best things for you that the officials of the department, the chief and the city are doing for you. and also to ask questions. There are very good workers in our city and I want to thank them. They will all come here and give a presentation. But the main purpose of coming here is to make sure that you know who is the staff of your city and what they do and you get a chance to ask questions. So thank you all for coming here. Some of you must have come to my town hall meetings, which are quite big and you don't get that much opportunity to ask questions there. I decided to sit in a small community to focus on some issues. So, I would like to talk about three different things in just three minutes. The first is the Senior Center. We have awarded around $300,000 for the Blue Zone program for elderly citizens. Death for elderly citizens over 65 years of age and the main cause of death before time is sudden death. And this happens because you lose the strength to hold. You lose strength in the hip flexors, hip abductors, and tibialis anterior. It's like putting a brake on the next part of your leg. Until you fall, no one does anything, but by then you have already hurt your head and legs, and then you can't walk. So I want to tell you that we have a program in the Senior Center, and the students of USC will help you practice speed training and improve the quality of your life. Okay, that's one. I am going to give you a detailed update of what is happening in the school district. I will complete the first part and then I will hand over the real brain of this operation to Dr. Lukas who is actually very intelligent so that he can complete it. These are some of the projects that are currently underway in the school district. We have about $300 million in projects. And I will tell you about them very soon. Obviously, I think anyone who has seen City Honors or the new Iowan and Young Center knows how beautifully we have painted. We have re-built the floor inside the school and the school is now visible from the inside and outside. It was a summer project that we completed. Our child development centre, which is on 104 and 10th Avenue, next to Woodworth-Monroe Elementary, is being rebuilt. If you had gone to the old child development centre, you would know that it was not right for the children of this community. We have 2, 3 and 4 year old children. And in the next 1.5 months, we will have the most beautiful child development centre. This is really amazing. You can see the construction work going on there. We are working on a big construction project in Bennett Q. We are making a new classroom and creating a new flexible learning space. We are working on a big project in Bennett Q. Apart from this, many summer projects took place there. We painted the interior of all the classrooms and installed new furniture. And now that school is shining. I have to tell you that we opened the school last Monday. As a teacher, this was the best school opening of my 46 years of career. The next project is going on on Oge Street, where we are building another building on Oge Street, 10 new classrooms. And it will be very beautiful because it will be a new early education, transitional kindergarten and kindergarten classroom facility. So it will really be for small children on that school site. That project is still going on. Apart from this, the district office is being relocated. I think you know that we have a YMCA of $40 million coming to Englewood, where the building of the district office is still there. YMCA is going to be unbelievable because on the first floor, there will be a swimming pool and gym with an Olympic-sized swimming pool. And then on the second floor, there will be community rooms and community places. That's why we are taking the district office away from that place and taking the old Warren Lens site. Apart from that, during Um Garmi, we did a project there, which is Englewood Continuation High School, which is Englewood Continuation High School. You know, the first Hadnall facility, now our Englewood Adult School, Englewood Continuation High School, and adult transition programs are all located in the same Hadnall facility for adults with special needs. Apart from this, during the summers, we did a lot of damar and fencing work. We tried to secure our parking spaces for all our students. That is why we have installed gates on all our parking spaces from Saurudhya so that the employees can come and go. But the parking spaces in schools are now secure. We have installed a new emergency management plan, a new emergency information plan so that the people who come to school now can be assured that they are safe to come to our facilities. Apart from this, you know, we are currently planning to rebuild Inglewood High School. And this is a reconstruction of 240 million of Inglewood High School. This is going to be the most beautiful high school in the west of Mississippi. I am proud to tell you that we are building a pool on Manchester Boulevard so that Inglewood High School can be connected directly to the library. Now for that project, I am still looking for a person who can fund me for it. So if you know someone who wants to donate around 7 billion, then they can get it written on the side of the bridge. I don't care if they are LA Rams or Clippers or you know, for Englewood youth. The bridge can be built on the side of the bridge, but it will be connected and it will save our money on our construction project. Because now I don't need to make a library in the school because the children can safely reach the library. Englewood city has been very supportive in designing and doing that project with us. In fact, there are some students of our high school who are working with architects to design the bridge. Because last year at the Science Fair, I was looking at the projects. And these students did their entire project on the design of the truss. And to keep the bridge in the right shape, what kind of truss can handle how much weight?

And I talked to those students.

I said, I will join you with the architects. Architects kept them at work as teachers. So that our children can design that bridge. Looking at the future, we have solar projects going on in the entire district. We are changing the poles in every school in the district so that we can have better security in all our places. We are changing the track in Coleman Field. Many of you know that we had changed the level of Coleman Field, but now we are changing the track. Another interesting thing is that when we rebuild Englewood High School, Sophie is giving us the turf that they change every two years. That is why they are donating the turf that we will put in the new Englewood High School. So in the coming years, the children of Englewood High School will be able to play football on the Super Bowl field, which is very exciting for our children. And this is the most important slide in all those slides. Did Sushri Dendal talk about this? Did Mr. Mahesh talk about this? Englewood Unified Receivership has been under administration for 14 years. We have a very good education board. I came to Englewood in 2023 and I remember my first day of work when they said, okay, friend, you have three years. We have to get you out of receivership. My question is about water, availability of water and its use in the future. As you know, Lake Mead has fallen below 23% of its capacity. It is a metropolitan water district. How are we affected?
