City Council - Special Meeting

Here. To start out with, I need to make a motion to recess into executive session to discuss personal matters of non-elected personnel pursuant to exception KSA 75-4319. The open meeting to resume in the city council chambers at 4.20 p.m. All second.

you Okay, I'll call this back to order. Basically, the City Council has approved the contract for Gary Meagher to serve as the interim city manager for the City of Hutchinson. Gary brings more than three decades of experience in city and county administration and is already familiar with our organization and community. Having previously served as the Hutchinson's interim city manager in 2022, his experience and knowledge of Hutchinson provides strong leadership and continuity for our organization. Council has full confidence in Gary and in the leadership team we have across the city. We have important work ahead of us, and our focus is on continuing the positive momentum already underway and moving Hutchinson forward. The city council will begin the search for Hutchinson's next city manager in the near future. We are committed to a process that reflects the needs of our organization, and most importantly, the community we serve. Our focus is clear. Finding the right leader for Hutchinson, someone who understands our community, recognizes our strength of our organization, and can build on the momentum we have today. We have great confidence in the leadership now in place and our employees and the direction of our community. Hutchinson has a strong future ahead, and council is committed to ensuring we have the leadership to support it. Thank you, and with that, we'll conclude today's meeting, and all I need to do is I need to make a motion to approve the interim services agreement employing Gary Meager as interim city manager for the city of Hutchinson.
