Due to unexpected reasons, we were unable to participate in more than three meetings last week. So, we were unable to reach the end. I would like to welcome Council President Robbins, who has found time to speak as the Executive Director of Greenway. I wanted to make sure that this would be the only opportunity the CET Council would get to stand in front of a ribbon cutting. I also wanted to bring back the JOLO Greenway membership to share with them about the services they bring to Highland Park City and the grants we get through their contributions. So their Executive Director Liana Medley is here. They will meet with the CET Council and the residents at home. That's why, in the evening, I had the opportunity to speak to Miss Medley and C.E.D. I have come here to represent all the hard work we have done in Highland Park.

As many of you may know, many communities in our region are living separately. What this Joe Louis Greenway project has done is to include all these cities. We have held meetings with Hamtramck, Highland Park, Dearborn, and Detroit. We know that their problems and our problems are the same in our meetings. So when we look at a plan like the Joe Louis Greenway and the Inner City Greenway, it shows how we as municipalities can work together to provide services to everyone. This requires a lot of funding. This requires a lot of hard work and a lot of participation. So, we are committed to working with John Lewis Greenway Partnership and other municipalities to unite people in South Eastern Michigan. If you are in Hamfranc, you can take the trail and come here by cycle. You can come here by cycle from Dearborn and also from Detroit. So this is becoming a trend that attracts everyone, not only to Highland Park, but also to Highland Park itself. One of the reasons why we are working so hard at Vinodha Meghalaya is that we are trying to create places where people feel like coming to Highland Park. This is another trend that we want to bring to bring our city forward in the world. Therefore, I would like to invite Ms. Medeli to share more details about our plans for Ford Park. Thank you. I am very happy that I was able to share this information for the first time in front of the residents of Highland Park. Just like what has happened so far, I expect this to continue as a joint effort. In addition, it has been three years since I started working with the John Lewis Greenway Partnership. The first idea that brought me here is Sue, one of our first programming partners. She is a rec center and one of their resource leaders. We have been running a senior walking program in Highland Park. We have run an ice cream social program with the leaders of Highland Park. I think it was last week or the week before that. We were able to see those two leaders in a program in the city. They are running in all parts of the trail. as well as the financial development of Carlton. So, we are not talking about how many miles there are in Highland Park, which is located in the middle of Highland Park. We are just making sure that those relations are established regarding the importance of Highland Park in this way. Therefore, it seems to me that this is the first time that this has been announced in front of the residents of this community. The reason for this is that the Joe Louis Greenway construction is taking place in Detroit. I would like to say that we are a special 501c3 labor union with the presence of residents in four cities. The young people on our board are still here. The representatives from other cities are also on our board. This helps to ensure that each city has a voice to speak about the needs of each city in order to participate in this process. The idea and concept of a trailhead is directly related to the question of whether a developer will buy our property. We were a small, labor-intensive organization. We didn't have the money to buy properties. We had only just started that day, and the money we had to invest in projects and cities and our activities had already been spent. But that incident was the beginning of an idea about how to look at the four corners of the Highland Park in Greenway. We thought, what can we do to boost the strength and productivity of the Highland Park? So instead of just looking at that one thing, we moved on to another field. We launched a RFP RFP. We appointed a consultant. We examined four sources with that consultant. We wanted to make the most of the cost of bringing such a method to the city of Highland Park. So I am on page 1. If you go to the next page, you can go to the goals and intentions. The person in charge of this project is our consultant, Om. It is important to understand the need to enter the Trailhead Connection through the Joe Louis Greenway. This is one of the most popular routes in Detroit City and Highland Park. There should be a suitable pedestrian plaza and a suitable parking space to reflect the beauty of the Trailhead Greenway in Woodward, and to connect users to the Greenway. Highland Park should be surrounded by a community of people who are interested in the trailhead of Woodward. This method represents a vision of the Joe-Louis-Greenway partnership. It shows the practical and sustainable path that can be taken through partnership and re-development. There are some things that Om has examined here. Increase the facility to walk in this corridor that Joe-Louis-Greenway and Woodward pass through and make this area a reality. They wanted to get along with us and other partners. They worked closely with Carlton to understand the needs of Highland Park and continued to provide trailhead facilities. There are three trailheads in Detroit. Therefore, the next trailhead from Highland Park, where we are standing now, will be in Detroit. Therefore, those who travel by this route are not allowed to park or rest. We are mainly thinking about commuters who travel daily through Woodward. They all pass through Highland Park. What we want to do in this way is not only to provide a central place for the residents, It is a beautiful place for people to come, use this new place, park safely, walk, and bring their family. This will be useful for those who live in Highland Park. Next, let's go to the next slide. These are some pictures of the celebrations at the site run by Om. Forgive me, why am I having a hard time? Okay, everything is right. These are some pictures of the celebrations at the site run by them. This is the situation in the state of Nileveli, in the northern part of Highland Park High School. They have added four cones. We examined the cost of rebuilding the land by the cost of four acres of land. And we will send you the details of what we brought to you in your presentation. We found two possible places. One is the real method of the 20 parklets near us, and the other is a small part of the old Highland Park High School site. On the next page, you can see the examples of trailhead facilities. That is, access points, footpaths, and then Joe Louis Greenway signage. This helps people to understand where they are. In addition, there are rails, bike racks, and pavilions. These are the usual facilities that you see on the trailhead and other parts of the Greenway. Next slide. This is the first drawing rendering we made. This shows only a small part of the Highland Park High School site, not the entire site. A small part of that site, about 30 parking spaces, will be covered with rainwater. It would be convenient to renovate the stairs. If both can be stopped, it is good for the entrance to the site and the walkway to the Greenway. The purpose of this method is not only to provide access, but also to create an area for the residents of Highland Park as a woodward. Next slide. Next, we wanted to show an aerial view that shows how this place will look from the drawings to the rendering. That is, a lot of open spaces. We have managed to save $1.3 billion for this plan. We expect to receive another fund for this Trailhead plan. We also expect another grant to complete the plan. That $1.3 billion will be fully used for the Capital Trailhead plan. We have chosen Highland Park to implement it. Next slide, please. Next. These are all renderings that help you look at the site and the plan from a different angle. Looking at the tech part of Woodward, you can see the entry of Joe Louis Greenway and more funding. That's why I said that we have 1.3 billion. With 1.3 billion, we can't build two different parking spaces as we need. So we had to accept some small steps with our own resources. However, if you are interested, we can help you. You won't get funding for this. Yes, that's why we have the funds we need. So, we have the funds we need to build this in this design space. In the previous workshop, we had two entrance cards, a few more parking spaces, and a few more windows. We would like to do that, but we have to find out more about that amount. They are very promising. We have not received any further information about that particular fund. So it is possible that we will not receive it. Another grant is also very promising. I don't know if we will receive that amount. But if we do, I will come and inform you. Next slide please. This is another scene from the street. We are looking at what we can do if we get a lot of trees, sand and more funds in the future. So, I suggest seeing this as a first step. When the Greenway section opens in Highland Park, this beautiful sand cloud is an opportunity to bring it to Highland Park. So, if we get the support of this committee and the residents, we intend to open this place in the spring or winter of 2027. Next slide. This is also a view from the boats. We want to protect those boats. Not only for vehicles, but also for pedestrians on the street. Next slide please. This shows some parts of the walkway. On the left side, you can see the way to the Greenway. So, we are making sure that there are plenty of wildflowers. We are also setting up boards there. We want this to become a beautiful place that represents Highland Park well. The next slide is from the pavilion. In the background, you can see the Joe Louis Greenway, the bridge, all the trees and plants. If you have the opportunity, we will share the initial budget for the project in two slides. This is not a complete design budget. This is just an initial budget. Therefore, we will get a specific number to complete this project in this amount. Obviously, this is today's budget, so the price is not decreasing these days. They are only doing it to improve. Therefore, we would like to ensure that we are providing a wonderful world-class place in Highland Park through this investment. Next slide. This is one of the things we expect to bring meaningful things to the residents of Highland Park. We are ready to leave parking spaces if we can do anything to attract residents and make this space feel like it. This project was very important when it came to bringing this project to Highland Park. You can go to the next slide. This is another view of the pavilion. We want to make sure that we have the space covered. In the previous workshop, there were benches on the floor. We cut some of the available funds from this budget, so they can be returned later. So, there are some things that cannot be done in the first phase, but we know that we will collect funds for the second phase. So, various facilities. Our goal with this much funding is to ensure that there are appropriate facilities for the residents to work and enjoy when they come. Next slide. Council President, you can turn this over. These are the different pictures and scenes of the proposed project. This is the northern view when you look at the stairs. If you look from the vehicle, people can walk to the sidewalk. I think this is the end. Yes, sir. I would like to make it clear. These are all done through 501c3. These funds are not included in the budget of the General Fund of Highland Park. This is also not included in the budget of Highland Park. I would like to make sure that this is clear to those who are watching from home. Because sometimes there are questions about funding. I would like to make sure that everyone understands that this is a big, yes, foundation. We are the beneficiaries of the Detroit-Joe Louis Greenway project. We are still a small labor union. So, to prove that this is a victory and to provide good service to the residents, I would like to start from this small part. Then we can make more progress. I want to tell this group that we can accept this, and when I accepted this invitation as the executive director of the Joss Greenway Partnership, we were only doing programming. To find a funder and accept the money for this, to start this, to keep Senator Slack interested in a project like this, in a project that has no relation to the city of Detroit, completely centered in the city of Highland Park, we were able to attract interest from another funder in such a project. This is definitely an unknown to us. So we want to take only as much as we can afford, make it beautiful, and then move on to big things from there. So what do you think about this? But as far as we are concerned, this will be a major project. We are growing. There are some differences between Detroit and us. We have one more thing to share as a reference. We are using a shipping container in a Detroit city as a test site. So, we are doing a lot of things ourselves. So, we are trying to do it well. After that, we can continue to grow and develop. But we will have to spend a lot of money on other things. We will have to spend a lot of money on other things. We are making sure that the community will be able to use this place and live here. But we wanted to make sure that there are beautiful flowers on the other side as well. People will be able to keep them on their balcony and decorate their houses. So when we are active in the city, we don't go far from Greenvale. because we are Jolos Greenway, but we also pay attention to the roads that connect to it. We are looking for ways to help the city, to plant other clouds, and to plant any kind of financial activities that will benefit the municipality in such ways. So, if a church group calls us, you will be there. We always get the effort to conduct an event and help the residents by providing information. In all parts of Greenway, it should be understood that this Vanija Woodward is one of the most popular Vanija centers in Highland Park.
