father on the wall. Oh yeah.
We're going to get started tonight. Thank you for coming on December 1st any council meeting. We'll start with a prayer from Pastor Steve and a coach. Pray. Yes. All right. Uh you have a bills list in your packet. Motion to approve. Second. Roll call. Yes. Martin. Yes. Miller. Yes. Yes.
No. I know this time of year usually the boards and commissions and council committees usually don't meet very regularly by chance at any board and commissions meet I believe so in fact and or council committee reports I think those were all pretty much wrapped up um was not able to be here tonight but he had submitted a report I believe he emailed it to everybody that what he was doing currently Um, since he's not here, we'll move on to the solicitor's report. Avery was not able to be here tonight. She had a water leak in the house. She just moved into so she wasn't able to attend.
She I think she just moved. I talked today. She first house she's ever owned. So a situation you gonna learn something, right? But so we'll have April. You want to read these are we have what? So one, two, three, four, five, ordinances and resolutions in here. Final reading on couple of them and then first readings with emergencies on the other three. So you happy to read them? I didn't bring my glasses.
I didn't read ordinance 2025-16 by caption only to amend pay ranges for employees 2026.

first reading of resolution 2025-24 by captain appointing Brian and Cory W to the TC council inclus the rules.

Second and third reading of resolution 2025-2 by authorizing the mayor to sign agreement with computer and declared emergency.
Yes. Martin. Yes. Yes. Bailey. Yes. Yes. Yes. Thank you, April. Did great. Good job. Uh, looks like you're w here tonight. Bruce, thanks for coming tonight. Do you have anything to report on the uh EMS department? I do. Don't worry about it. weren't going to be here. I can't.
So, for the uh month of November, we have 43 total calls, which is uh down from our average. 36 medical, seven fire. 30 of those calls were in the village. Uh six were in Hel Township, three in Mark, one in Farmer, and three in Milford. Um, we're going to do a retirement party for Bob on December 28th at the fire hall from 2 to 4. That's a Sunday. Um, I applied for a grant in September to help cover the cost of the EMS of the EMT basic class. Uh we were informed that we did get that grant. So that was $30,000 is going to cover the cost of the EMT class. Currently for the month of December, I have 11 open shifts. Does not include anyone who might get sick. With that being said, I'd like to bring on Joanie Kimple. She is a 2024 uh graduate from Edertton High School, is a member of the United States Air Force and is currently working as in the air guard for plane. She is currently uh getting her reciprocity which she is obtaining now and u I think she would be a very valuable asset.
When did she start to run as soon as she gets her reciprocity? I misunderstood. No, she she filed for it a couple weeks ago and and uh the state of Ohio likes to sometimes track. That's I was going to ask how long does it generally take
it? Uh you so they can take up to 30 days. Um and with so uh if you remember we just brought on Noah the another parame paramedic. Um, it actually took him uh because they were wanting the background check from the military. So, it's up to the military to get them the background check. But yeah, as soon as uh as soon as she's uh gets her reciprocity, she'll be doing a little bit of right time with us, you know, to get acclimated and then she's out the door. Did you say EMS or paramedic?
She is an EMT right now. Um, any plan on refilling Bob's position? Um, not by the fulltime. Did you know Aby's position that was that went to
So so the way so the way I the way I have it structured now is as uh Hannah's off on maternity leave and um you know I there there could be she's she's planning on coming back at at the beginning of the year. I've got um I've got Rebecca who is still on second shift um or she's now moved up to first uh because of Hannah being off and Bob. So I'm actually on first now and so we have two part- timerrs that are filling the that second uh that second shift position. So um at this point I do not see a reason for me to with the part- timerrs that we have. I do not see a reason for me to fill a fill it with a another full-time.
Aren't the uh Aren't the two on second, aren't they working full-time?
Um, no. No. Um, the two on second. So when Bob was here and it was Bob, it was Bob and Hannah and me and then me and Rebecca on seconds and then Isaac and and Chloe on on third on at on the midnight shift. So uh right now with Bob off and Hannah off, uh myself and Rebecca went to first shift, which I, you know, as a chief I'm I'm going to stay on first uh when Hannah comes back. So we've had two uh parttimers trying to fill uh two part- timerrs filling that second shift position at 4 to midnight. So,
and it's obviously working.
Yeah. Yeah. I mean, I don't get me wrong, I've got some I got a few open shifts here and there, but you know, I I just uh you know, um I just put a call out and see who who can who's available and and you know, um We've had uh over the weekend u obviously Thursday and Friday you know we weren't there um but we had part- timerrs filling up the 24 people doing actual 24s for us and uh you know if they couldn't do a 24 they um they were doing you know 16 hours 12 hours whatever they could do. So, that's the beauty of the system, you know, right now. You know, you get some part- timerrs that uh say, "Hey, I can run on the weekends, but I I can only run like, you know, eight hours." Okay, great. You know, and then I'll find somebody else, you know, somebody else may not may come in and say, "Well, I don't want to run a full 24, but I'll run 16, you know, or or 12 or whatnot." Well, I will go ahead and um submit Joanie Kipple to a mayor's res acceptance for Joanie Kipple to be a new EMT staff member for parttime. Thank you. Roll call.
Yes. Yes. Yes. Bailey. Yes. Yes. Yes. And that's all I have unless you got some questions for me. I know you guys have been working on the just public thing is the uh Christmas for kids, right?
Yeah. So, the Christmas for kids is coming up. Uh I I don't have I I don't have the the exact date. I think it's somewhere around the 17th that they're doing the handout, you know, somewhere around in there. Um I can double check and you know make sure that you know it gets over here so that way it can be put up on the village website. You know we try to we try to put it out on our Facebook pages as well. So
are you still taking applications for that? No, those were those were over uh before the end of the month last month because it um the people that we have in charge are, you know, they're they're trying to buy we're trying to get toys for, you know, lots of families and kids. So, um however, if somebody didn't, you know, just get a hold of us. We'll see what we can do. You know, not guaranteeing anything, but you know, I I would hate for any child in this community to go to to not have something to open up on Christmas day. So lastly, that last thing that I have, it's getting cold out. Check uh I' I'd like to ask everybody to keep an eye on each other, you know, especially the elderly people in this community. Um, make sure that if they can't get out, make sure that, you know, somebody's helping them to get their stuff that they
and clear driveways and sidewalks and everything if if they do need to make a run to their house, it's a lot easier to maybe get up to their doors. Absolutely. Absolutely.
Thanks. Appreciate it. Thank you. All right. Um, Eric are not here tonight. Uh, fiscal of course is not here. April, um, you got everything. Fund status reports, uh, revolving loan list, kind of year end stuff happening here, PD payin list, SMTA franchise report. Um, there's a chamber after hours December 3rd at the Huber. They do quite a few of those throughout the year. It's a nice event. If you have time to stop up and and visit some people in the area, some businesses and people that put that on for the chamber, that's very nice. So, with that, I April to answer any questions. April is filling in for show while she's up. She's doing a wonderful job and thank you for that. So, any questions for her? That is 5 to 7 at the I think down for four people.
5 to seven at the uh with that just some just hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Um breakfast with Santa is at St. Michael Catholic Church this coming this coming Saturday, December 6. I believe it runs from 9:00 a.m. to 11. Uh church and Santa put that on down there. I want to thank the Christmas cruiser. They fired that back up. They got a lot of neat new displays. Um they are open at the fairgrounds from 6:00 to 9. Um they just do a wonderful job. They put a lot of time and effort into it. a lot of volunteers and sponsors and it's not over when the lights are up. They're constantly working. They were plowing the other night with all the snow. There's always people doing things down there and you know that's a blessing for our community and a lot of people, families and kids get to enjoy that. So there's a lot of stuff down there. It's amazing. We're fortunate to have that working at the fairgrounds here at Nixville. So thank you for everybody that does that. Um we currently have three candidates who have submitted letters of interest for the open council seat. Uh again, the deadline for those letters is December 12th in my office uh by 5:00 that Friday, December 12th. If anyone is interested, you can get with the council person, uh Cheryl, um Corey, if you have an interest in it, have any questions about it, feel please feel free to call us, check in on it. Uh so we will take those applications up to the 12th. We won't make a decision until January until that seat, everything. So, um, here again with the first snow of the season kind of thing. It was kind of early. Everybody had a little bit of snow, but I know the street department's been out working very diligently trying to get the the roads cleared off. And, you know, the police, fire, and EMS departments. Um, a lot of people volunteer their time, help help people
that can't do their driveways. And I just thank everybody that uh helps and and makes the community safe during these snow events. And uh, I just the residents to be patient and safe during these times of the year when we do get roads conditions the way they are with the ice and everything. We don't want any accidents or anybody to get hurt. So with that, that's all I have. Does anybody have anything for
call?
Yes. Yes. Beverly. Yes.
I've been here.
I don't know yet. We'll see. Too long. Not all meetings are this. you thinking about it?
