Tony is here. Pam is here. Rex is absent. I knew that was gonna happen. And then we have Rosanna and we have David.
We have Korn.
All right. For the consent agenda, all things are considered routine. If any item needs to be discussed, then we can pull it from the consent agenda and talk about that one individually. Otherwise, do we have a motion to accept the meeting minutes from May 27th, June 24th, and July 22nd Planning and Zoning Commission meetings?
I move.
Second.
All right. All in favor. All right. With that, we have one agenda topic. It is a request to rezone for property located at 405 Northeast Vernon Street, also known as Acres Point 918, Abstract A-136, Subdivision G0500 Block, all of nine, lot one through eight, Glen Rose Town site, block all of nine, lot one through eight, from an R1 single-family district and a B1, restricted commercial district to be one restricted commercial district. With that said, we have a representative from the Methodist Church here. Natalie, if I can get you to stand up and just kind of Tell us what's going on.
My name is Natalie McKnight. I am the Director of Operations at Glen Rose First Methodist Church. We are doing some construction. I'm sure if you haven't seen it, you'll see it very soon. When we went to get our building permits, Mr. David here, let us know that currently the lot that our sanctuary sits on also has what used to be a parsonage or the house for a pastor. We now use it as Sunday school classrooms and for our food bank. And so the property is zoned as both commercial for the sanctuary and it also is still have somehow zoned residential at the same time um but it is no longer used for residential um so it's just that it needs to be changed over yes getting cleaned up that's fine all right um we have nobody here with any public comments but we have to officially open the public meeting which i am opening at 5 29.
Do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, And just so that we can do this all by the book. Eight letters were... 16 property owners were sent letters representing 27 different properties. Eight were confirmed received. Six were confirmed... Not received or unconfirmed as received 2 letters were returned and we did receive 1 favorable response. So, with that said, is there, if we go through and look at it. You can see that the property in question is basically Vernon Street, where the front half of the property has been zoned as a B1. But somewhere along the line, the back half of the property, is that all one plat or is it two plats?
It's actually three plats.
Okay.
And that was something else I discussed with them. It's really 1 of those things I guess they're allowed to do. From research I've done, but it's recommended that they put it in 1.
Well, I can see.
Because their parking lot extends into those.
Into those other plots.
That's what I was thinking. You said we can't really make them do it.
Yeah.
But it's recommended.
At some point in time in the future, it would make sense if there was ever a case of wanting to sell the property. Exactly.
Make it all one parcel. Yeah. But Brian Shirley, who did the GIS mapping, said that there was a different way. It wasn't a house for the pastor, I guess. It was probably just... It's crazy because Shepherd's Valley was the same way.
Yeah. It's just one of those things that when they were just drawing lines, they just drew lines. All right. Is there any discussion, questions, things that you guys need to understand? Okay. Do we... have a recommendation that we would like to make to council?
Motion to accept.
Motion to make the zoning change? Okay. Do I have a second?
Second.
All in favor? done okay i do see in this huge yellow sign that i'm supposed to state my name and my address do i need to state that okay wonderful thank you i kind of think i know both wonderful um all right so this does not officially make this all complete this still does have to go to council i do not expect there to be any reason for concerns but you do need to attend the council meeting so that you can do the exact same thing for them what you did for us okay and that council meeting is on september 8th 5 30 here um I had asked for a workshop to be placed on the agenda for us to discuss some rezoning through some communication. It hasn't happened. And so we have no further business before the board tonight, and we can actually adjourn the meeting at 534. Bye.
Up top, there's some pretty tight standing ground.
Are you putting signs up for people now? Because I have signs.
