[Music] Call commission meeting to order. Let's let the record show meetings being ted to the city's YouTube. First thing on the agenda is the minutes of the last meeting. [Music] minutes. Everybody have a chance to see a motion to second. Say I

0:43 – 1:150

are there any new Is there any new business? Just do this under your Yeah. Okay. Any old business? And uh next club champion was finished up. Uh we so good turn pretty good. Uh unfortunately did not have enough participation for the second year. So we did not have the ladies coach this year.

1:17 – 3:150

Did anyone sign up? two people. We have 699 members right now. So, you know, still kind of getting uh membership here and there usually get I don't join. Yeah, I will I don't want to be meeting before the end of August. It's usually the time when we rip off the special fall special. um you know want to talk about now to improve that and go forward with a special start at the end of August to wrap around that release we have right now tends to be fairly popular it usually drives in 20 to 25 people or people join the spring for various reasons so that's an easy switch you know start bringing 2026 numbers back [Music] discussion on special at this point. want to see the two start have discussion with people that come in. Well, you're not going to be going through that now, right? Wait until the end of August this year is the first start before that. Um there Okay.

3:16 – 5:130

Any further discussion? We have a motion to say I think some basic numbers for uniforms. Um through um I sent an email. I'm not sure if they're going to change for me today. Um, I'm really not in favor of spending that much money to uniform the entire staff all week. Um, I think that we need more more and more clothing items than you think that we need. Um, the number of people that work multiple days multiple days a week. Um, plus the fluctuating temperature we were wearing out shop into July and in about two weeks probably too. um getting is kind of kind of productive because we're all stuff on top of it anyways. Um I am like a second a second party here. I very very much in favor of getting one basic not basic but getting a full and then an outward piece to wear for different events throughout the year. specifically our weekday events uh our church events our shotguns um for the staff to be able to see same talking like I said in the email I typically will wear red or paint because I try to want to stand up but people see you know it's walking around you know getting or calling it will be easier for I think the turnover of my staff It's going to be annual order which whichever one do um there's going to be let's say all by the end of the year there's going to be you know I might have one or two

5:11 – 7:040

new people in the spring and it is going to be a lap some may not have for first few weeks or um it's spinning around pretty fast time but you know I I you know I would ask my staff on the stuff that I listed on the full thing. Um that's not obviously not a necessity but it would be nice to have particularly the rain here as it rains my stuff there which I always put in the truck. So that's just all that time. We did one full one hour piece logo, you know, 14 people 125 to start, but then we all have that piece and then just a big cost, right? That's that's my thoughts on that. Not sure what your thoughts are in uniforms. What about the tags? Like we have a logo of wands that just say they what you put on whatever you're wearing and it's they're each lanyard or something you know a name tag so they're just Not just [Music] buy shirts in bulk solid. Yeah, that's true.

7:050

I used to do that color, right?

7:10 – 8:020

Yeah. There you go. that you know where you want us [Music] and something I'll tell them too like listen we're going to wear these Well, these days it's not every day. So, so we're turning around [Music] probably already have some guidelines about their appropriate care for you know the pro shop.

8:000

Yeah, I especially with the kids I talk very

8:03 – 8:530

and about different things. You know, if someone can't afford, you know, a college shirt or, you know, something appropriate, you know, we support them, you know, they should wear, you know, instead measure both [Music] hardship. Are you dead set on using that company?

8:51 – 10:490

I want to use that [Music] other relationship with them actually staff that go that's 20% off the low prices are 20% off the cost. So it's a it's good stuff. All right, that's it. Any questions? So in reference to the ladies club championship got quite you feedback on that I get a lot of feedback on that decide that right here there's some relationship issues within ladies I think would be a good way to put it that people feel that they don't want short terms for certain reasons um I you know whether I a three person tournament or 30 person tournament no be nice to have it crown three winners yesterday instead of two but you know and it's also the point too where I don't feel it is my part to try to correct that situation on that side it's not or or bring it up to certain I don't think that's um job form is that okay it's not it's not a for you know the delay championship at one point was 3 days Sunday sun Sunday I think that became a little bit of a format shoot but they didn't want to three days or walk out two weekends so we went down two um declines since then for all reasons I feel that I know They don't like to play individual competition. They like the team competition.

10:46 – 11:260

That's part two because I have a decent turnout coming up from the the ladies division of the uh St. James security. That's right. They're more to play with whatever individual they get within the team. And the team events are minding stress. That's so competitive. But we think ladies championship the first ladies [Music] club championship.

11:33 – 13:320

Yeah. So, so what division of these you know four wall stuff the second chance they would like I don't think division [Music] but I mean like 12 14 people it's not 36 people from their I tried to solicit, you know, information when I go play these invitations and I find that you know a lot of the clubs I mean there's not a whole lot of interest in some of the women playing championships that just you know say team participation team that's dropped a little bit or so that leads to some kind of decrease. I know a lot of women that play Friday night or you know during the week they don't go out to association just uh just just go out on their own with their friends. So I guess everyone answer two team two person team championship association probably [Music] [Music] should try this many many many times I think a little bit a little bit traction on it now um to start committee uh one of my workers wants to

13:28 – 15:280

be on it and another woman on it. Uh there's a lot of green features system to really go after um and I mentioned there a little bit but come up you know by the end of the fall come up with what we're doing this year thing looked at in a lot of places doing a new rule book there is a appendix with uh recommends amend by event and they're different than what we use now and they would be uh more generous to the higher counters. I think I get a little bit of decrease of participation with the higher hands particularly over individual events over multiple days and delay championship because they can't compete over three or four days at 75%. They just can't do it. They may compete for one or two but they can't compete for three or four days. uh higher percentages recommended are a lot higher. Um and I have found over the course of doing the last couple years events the great rounds in the handicap events are not as noticeable. um they're not as drastically long, you know, they're not like sticking out on the sofa, you know, men's club championship. We had two or three, four rounds in the mid60s 75% but before we would have 75% we have 62 ridiculously low uh net numbers on the ground, you know. to try to make the same what's going on here. Um so I think a lot of what they've done through the

15:25 – 17:150

system has brought people that the competition in that division was really good this year. Um three people went into the final round tied at 215 which is 717173 that's average fluctuation. Um but it was it was it's good. Um I I but I think one of my staff wants to do that small committee talks and put it all the small changing [Music] to the model forces using that cheap like The way I figure scramles now, the way I figure scratches now, that's not what they recommend right now. It's not a big difference. Just a little bit individual individual handicaps for championship will be 90 and 95% 90 95% valid 75%. So that 30 handicappers not lose eight shots times four is 32 shots. We go a little bit maybe get enough people in it that we bring back. We used to have two hands right now over the numbers. All right. Okay. Did they raise the question?

17:12 – 17:430

Yes. First uh first Monday. uh preliminary around uh I think that might be a troll to do funny because we saw him go by Oh, that was it. Dr.

17:49 – 19:040

Two, two Mondays in August, one first Monday, a large group on the third Monday, I believe. But, you know, just take care of Look at the golds. I want them to bring every set of teeth for that because right now [Music] both [Music] um we reached out to D and Tom situation and they And after the last batch of analysis and sampling that we did, typically takes between 4 and 6 months to get approved. They said they're going to try to expedite it in 2 months. I don't know what that means. Don't ask me. I don't know why they expedite something in 2 months that typically takes more sense bureaucracy. Um, so who knows what that means. We're going to continue like we have October, November.

19:000

October, November possibly. Who knows?

19:04 – 21:020

Yeah, they've got this is 2 years. So, um our current problem is we don't have enough pressure to water everything at night. We don't have any pressure to water everything. So, we have to pick and choose what we want to water each night. It usually comes down to the majority of TE's and some fererals. The problem is when you come out of that pump house or you come out of big 8 in down to 6 in to 4 in bikes and you start pulling up hills like number two. You pull uphill like 15. So So you can pull all your water up to 15 and water 15 or you can water 13 and 11 12. So we're trying to alter 85 and 17. I can't we would be brown if I had all the water in the world. This is like times and thousands of that. Um, so we're trying to prioritize at night watering from like 900 p.m. to 300 a.m. some fairways and some te's and then we come in as a gang and we ant water all the greens, all the collars, all the approaches and all the green surroundings every morning. And that's why it looks like this. Um, it's all city water. The meter's running. It's going to keep running. I have no idea what the bill is going to be at the end. That's something we talk about at the end. Um cats our current state of water, so we need a three-day rain. Uh but that's among us. Um the only other thing that's coming around right now, like we mentioned earlier, is the proposal. Um there's a proposal for a new restaurant building. Um combined maybe with a new pro shop, for a new apartment complex. Um and it's it's just being moved about right now. Um, we have a meeting Thursday with the mayor, a couple city councilors. Um, it's obviously something that just the plans themselves are in the tune of about $33,000, which we have to obviously know to a golf commission meeting, pros and cons list. We have we

21:00 – 21:260

have to know every single thing that's involved from now to conception all the way in the future um before anything is broken up. So, it's it's just kind of being thrown at the wall right now. Um that is something that's being explored and talked about it and if nothing else is interesting but it's it's um so follow up on that. We'll follow together.

21:29 – 22:160

Um we have hired a new mechanic. He's going to come in our current mechanic her been here for too long. He'll have that alive. Um he's done at some point in September. We don't know the exact point. We wanted to get a person in now who starts next Monday so that there's no overlap. So we figure out we got new equipment we need to bring in that is going to leave with um just to get him familiar with the whole situation. Um he's younger hopefully it sticks and it stays for a long time. Um but that's already been higher for the year. Um water water. Shoot. I just had a question. When they do do the watering overnight, is the person actually here?

22:14 – 23:180

No, that's more programs, but we've been coming in at like 2:30, 3:00 in the morning to water. So, sucks. But not the programs themselves run on the computer. And that's the challenging part is like trying to 2,000 sprinklers out there. I'm trying to figure out if I pull the water 400 line that way, what does it do to the sprinkler? You just you assume that all these sprinklers run at night and under full maximum pressure they do. But if you pull that one 600 ft over there, then this one waters like this and then the middle of two green fries. And so that's why we don't run any programs on greens is unless I can see them spinning. You can't breathe and water and you're 300 on a Saturday. It's 91°. Oh yeah, that's water. So yeah, so if they reach out with that email concerns, they're already expediting it. So I don't know what else he can do there

23:170

or anybody else really.

23:18 – 24:190

Yeah, I know people around. It's it's a D thing. It's is black and white. When they say go, you go. Until they say go, put on the headlamps and grab those. [Music] It'll change some things going forward. We typically airate TE's this time of year greens this time of year. Not doing any projects going on. Overtime roof like got a staff 15 guys grass watering. I got kids watering fairway spots, hoses. It's oldfashioned old school. [Music] Um, I think we talked about this before. The uh the lights that are behind the restaurant that are on the is that something that national grid has to change or anything far.

24:17 – 24:590

Is that a national letter or is that I don't know. I don't there's a couple of up here but they're help cuz we'll give them the number. Yeah, I have all the numbers on my computer. So we just shoot an email. [Music] Anything else? There's no correspondence commissioner on this day. Um, no nothing. Yeah.

24:57 – 25:080

Okay. How would you say glad you're sharing the ship building to navigate through this whole

25:05 – 27:040

team effort, you know, water issue, the facilities issue, team effort. Yeah. I'm still getting a lot of really good comments. That's how you know people only care about this. They walked up and played. I honestly don't know what percentage of people know. I know. A lot of people don't know the guy really. I've been out a couple times when we've been on turf. We know people It's kind of sw a wall comes from western mass and it keeps up and then it hits out and it's still a wall and then it goes bounce off thing whereabin goes goes like this for some reason and it opens up around the time it comes back and I'm like we were watering that six guys yesterday morning and they're all looking at me like crazy why are we watering my hand and then 9 a.m. It goes from 100% to 80 to 49%. That's why never never it's a weird pocket. It's an elevation thing. We got slingshots. It bounces off the alleys and it bounces off. You see this watch when you're on the deck, you can watch it go down to Wer and you can watch it go right through this one and it just goes dark and dark. This light thing goes over us Friday night and

27:02 – 28:590

you know we thought we had a little bit of rainbow came out. It's great for business. I know. So that's all uh financial. So first one that I gave you is 25. So these most of the uh numbers are probably [Music] he's got eliminate all the negative basically budget process budget which the last page of this report has that basically allocation is just supposed to eliminate all that Um so receipts came in at 1,336,000 per year which um was probably an increase over the last year about 80,000. I think a lot of that is due to rates. [Music] Yep. Um expenses are at 921 plus the 240 for the indirect cost. So leaving us um a surplus of $175,000. [Music] That's after the truck 78 grand. So speed by close to pretty much [Music] water.

29:00 – 30:060

Um the other thing too if you spend all the money for the front any you know future will just go for the [Music] only other thing we bought last year was just the gateway that was truck. Uh any questions on financial a [Music] next one is this is fiscal year 2026 probably the first four months of July not everything's probably just four weeks 3 weeks of receipts They don't have copies of that.

30:01 – 30:430

I only made you one. I didn't know. Sorry. Okay. Yeah. So, receipts are at, you know, 9,500. Uh expenses are probably about 60,000. Yeah, receipts do not include last week. Probably not. No, I was not yet because I just did it this morning, too. So, it's not last week. No, last week's probably just the first two weeks of July. Yeah,

30:40 – 31:080

I think you said like around 48 or something. We didn't um we didn't pay for that new study for it. The that bill I submitted it last night so it'll be paid next week. I was just wondering it came in under the quote. So really by not a whole lot but

31:06 – 31:530

but lower than what they had originally put on the quote cuz they sent two different bills and they total less than 200 what the purchase order. the state was requiring another analysis for this project and it was like 9,800 analysis [Music] and they're not business. So right now we got a surplus of probably about 60 grand change. Any questions on 2026 hearing none.

32:01 – 32:330

Next meeting [Music] 25 [Music] August there. Nothing going on that day. Yeah. No, I mean kids for a while. I'm not sure exactly.

32:34 – 32:580

Yes. See a motion to say [Music] we got that one
