I'd like to call the city of gardener board of zoning appeals meeting to order. Um would everyone do we need to do the pledge of allegiance for this one too or Okay. All right. We'll just move into the uh Oh, it says pledge of allegiance on there. So probably do it. To the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for it stands one nation under God indivisible with liberty and justice for all. [snorts] Start with commission roll call starting on my right present.

8:12 – 8:32Speaker 1

Commissioner Sza present. Commissioner Colmes present. Commissioner Berg present. Commissioner Oluchi present. We have a quorum. Thank you. Um, okay. So, on the agenda, we've got item number one, resolution adopting updated bylaws and new rules of procedure.

8:30 – 10:11Speaker 1

Thank you. It's not often that the board of zoning appeals meets. The last time you all met, I don't know that any of you were on the commission and that was at least five years ago. However, we thought it was appropriate to convene as the board of zoning appeals this evening in order to adopt the bylaws and rules of procedure for the board of zoning appeals. They are exactly the same as what you all adopted as the planning commission last month. Um, and we did include that any modifications to either the rules of procedure or the bylaws in the future moving forward will be able to be amended and adopted by the planning commission to serve both the planning commission and board of zoning appeals. So, we won't have to convene you all just to make this adoption, but we thought this first time it would be appropriate to do it that way. I would also like to point out that on the occasion when an application is submitted to the board of zoning appeals in the bylaws, it states that the board of zoning appeals meetings shall take place on the same evening as the planning commission and shall convene prior to the planning commission meeting like we're doing this evening. Therefore, the meeting schedule for the planning commission will also serve as the meeting schedule for the board of zoning appeals. And if there's ever an item submitted to the board of zoning appeals, it will be placed on the next available meeting date based on any public notice requirements. So, I just wanted to point that out because it's a little bit different um in terms of the board of zoning appeals versus the planning commission meeting. It's not as hard of a deadline sometimes. With that, we'd be happy to answer any questions.

10:12 – 10:47Speaker 1

Are there any commissioners have any questions or comments? No questions. No. [clears throat] We don't have anything. I'll entertain the motion to approve and adopt the resolution or adopt the updated bylaws. I'll make that motion. Second. Um, we have a motion by Commissioner Combmes with a second by Commissioner Luchi. All those in favor? I I oppose. Abstensions. Motion carries six to zero.

10:45 – 11:28Speaker 1

Thank you. Because we have a few minutes, I thought it would be appropriate to introduce Victoria Johnson. She is our new administrative specialist. She started with us. I think you're in your third or fourth third week now. Um so we have a heavy agenda, but we will be helping her with that. And if you've got any questions um throughout the month, please feel free to also contact Victoria. So, and that's it. Welcome. All right. Um, we got nothing else. I will entertain a motion to adjurnn the board of zoning appeals meeting. So moved. Second. All those in favor? I. All right. Thank you everyone.
