First city council meeting for this year 2026 Spurlock and councilwoman uh Shannon Moltry. Also we have returning uh councilwoman Dr. Nia Glover. So we are a full council. We're excited about the potential of moving forward in 2026. And we are thankful for each and every one of you who have taken time from your busy schedule to come and to see your city council as we establish policy and move the city of Fedville forward. Here in the city of Fedville, we begin all of our city council meetings with prayer. This being the first meeting of the first of the new year, I would like to offer the prayer and then subsequently in the next few meetings, we have a rotation and we ask the council members to lead us in prayer. But if you don't mind, please bow your head for a word of prayer. Then we ask if you would stand, recite our pledge of allegiance. Most gracious, eternal, and everlasting God, you created the heavens and the earth and everything there within. You're the sovereign Lord, the one who we give credit to for creating us. Your words that you knew us before we were formed in our mother's womb. You know what our destiny is, God. And we ask dear God that these representatives not only of the city council but our city uh employees and staff members as well as the citizens begin to realize dear God that if continue to look into the hills from W cometh our help that our help will come from you in making the city of Fedville a viable vibrant quality of life city dear God that's safe and God as we make decisions we ask that you touch our hearts touch our minds that we would be on one accord. Let us not be disagreeable, but let us continue to move this city forward in a positive way. In Jesus name we pray. Amen. Amen. Please stand and recite the pledge of allegiance.

And so at this time I will ask the council is there any nomination for uh the mayor pro tim for 2026. Mr. Mayor I'd like to put the name Langford for to be the mayor pro Tim for calendar year 2026. So, we have the names up on the screen. Um, it will be Alicia B. Thompson for municipal court judge. But this is what happens when you find a city council that get uh the information by our staff uh in a timely manner so we can review it and if there are any questions things we try to ask our staff before and if there are any public uh members citizens of the public who wish to ask questions on either items you can always call in and ask any of the council members or any of our staff like to move on to reports and comments. City manager do you have anything sir? Yes, mayor. I have a few items. Well, first of all, happy new year to everyone. Uh we look forward to 2026. Uh congratulations to sounds congratulations to Dr. Ny Glover on her re-election and then to um council members Shannon Moltry and EMTT Spurlock for joining the team. We look forward to working with you all in 2026. And the important one of the important ones that we got to really talk about too is to get people to attend the town hall meeting for Ginger Cake. That's going to happen on January. We're going to have two town hall meetings here in the council chamber at 9:00 a.m. and 6 pm. Um, and we'll be providing the council with some information prior to that meeting to review for discussion. And also a happy belated birthday to Mayor Johnson.

Yes. I just want to say thank you to the city for reelecting me, you know, and trusting me with my second term. But I also would like to kind of report on some updates for the mental health advisory board. We met on January 6, this past uh Tuesday, and we focused a lot on continuously to track the emerging trends in the city. So, we're doing a lot of work, look forward to a lot of things that are coming soon with a lot of different events. We actually have one our monthly webinar on the 27th where we're going to focus on um mental health reset providing some of those tools for citizens to continue to um move forward in their lives as well. Um, also I'd like to report that we did receive a generous donation from a individual um during our Christmas celebration. So, thank you to that individual as well. He did not want to be um highlighted, but just thank you for those that are continuously to recognize the mental health advisory board and all the work we are doing. We also brought on two new individuals. Um, we had an overwhelming amount of uh outreach that wanted to join the board. So, we're looking to join a, you know, create a committee for those individuals that were interested in the mental health advisory board, but we're doing a lot of work in the community. So, continue to look forward to the things that we're going to continue to do in 2026. Thank you.

We have been a unified council for a very long time to put the city of Fagatville moving forward as always. Uh, and I believe, and I'm just going to say it, we've done a dang good job of it. So, that says a lot about their commitment to the work. And so, if you're one of those individuals, know how much we appreciate you. This morning we recognize celebr several of our members of our police department for the phenomenal work that they're doing in protecting the citizens of Fedville. So, uh, Chief Mass, please take it back to, uh, uh, the rank and file officers how much we appreciate all that they do. Thank you very much. At this time, ladies and gentlemen, uh, the floor is open for comments. Uh, this is an opportunity for citizens to come and address the council.
