Mayor Ken Stpplebean,

10:34 – 11:470

I can't say enough, Mandy. Long as he's not going to fight. We can have that training. It's worth all of about 37 cents. But every word of it we've made and we can't be happier for what you and Koala have done and well and you're not going anywhere. You're just going to shift gears a little bit. Um and I'm sure that you will help Jeremiah as he begins his adventure. So um you know we wish Paul nothing but the best and you know now a lot of couch time. So um I bought a cake. You all are welcome. It's in my office. Um, we wanted to get this done over the top so that those of you who didn't want to stay for the fun are more than welcome to leave and go have um there is plates and knives and spatulas and the whole nine yards in there. Feel free to have a seat with Alex kids. They're eating the cake already. But thank you very much for your dedication and doing your thing. Old

speaker wall is final 1042 temple. Thank you, Andy. Job well done, buddy. Thank you, Appcate. Thank you.

12:350

Thank you. You want me to hang on to that? put in your box. Yeah.

12:45 – 13:270

That way it doesn't get wrinkled. Um, that being said, we are going to have one more K9 koala Easter egg hunt on April 4th at 10:00 a.m. This will be coming to the council for a a donation, but we'll make sure that uh we send them off with the last one hell of a Easter egg hunt. So, thank you, Andy. Thank you, Kal. All right. How about we do some business? Yeah. All right. We've done that. Um,

13:35 – 14:090

nobody's been that close to that dog. All right. Um, we'll get down to business now. We don't have a lot this evening. Uh first order is uh everybody's had a chance to look at the minutes from our last regular session. This time I'll take questions, comments, concerns, or a motion. Make a motion that we approve the minutes from the last session. Second. I have a motion from Alex, second from Dave Rose that we approve minutes from 21626. All in favor say I. I.

14:07 – 14:460

Opposed? That will carry. I do not have any correspondence this evening. uh leads us to our bills presented for payment. Again, I will take questions, comments, concerns, or or I can make a motion. Second. I have a motion from Joey. A second from Alex to pay our bills as presented. That is a roll call, please. Gillis, yes. Bogs, yes. Smith, yes. Fleming, yes. Rose, yes. Cruzen, yes.

14:42 – 14:570

All right. Thank you. I cannot break this. Um, next item I have is our police report. Seems like we're a little police heavy tonight.

14:55 – 15:300

Chief is working. I got the defense fixed at Dollar General. So, the owner's happy next door. It is leaning. So, I'm going to try to reach out and see if I can get them to fix that. It's leaning heavy. It's not going to take much to do that. Uh, K9 Pandora. was picked up by officer Holm and they just started their K9 school today and uh Cody and I completed the last crime scene investigation course and uh let them be recognized as state certified crime scene investigators as a new legislation that's coming out

15:31 – 16:080

like to make a motion police department report. I have a motion and a second to approve the police department report for February 2026. All in favor say I. I. Opposed. Thank you. We do not have any old business. Uh leads us to new business. First order of new business. Um, I'm going to defer to Alderman Rose with uh discussion possible action of accepting the demolition bid for the junior high.

16:05 – 18:040

So, in a a bid opening on Thursday the 26th, we had two bids come in. One from Kinsel Trucking and one from River City Demolition. Kinsel Trucking came in a little bit lower for a total cost of 381,880. River City demolition came in at 395600. We then made the decision to move forward and award truck demolition and speesus removal. With that said, there are some bills that are not covered under this. Um, example, um, MA stats and their services is not in that. The Amaran gas reroute, which has to still take place. Currently, the Amaran gas comes right into the city building and is routed through the old junior high basement. So, we have to route that out. And the city water, the same thing. It's ran through the junior high basement and has to be rerouted. We are fortunate that we came in at the same time. The new city line is being reran out there. So, um, both of those will be relocated to the south side of the dance room studio that side over that direction and come in through the hallway there where it used to be the party room concession stand right there. But I don't have exacts on that. I'm still waiting for the Amron cost for reroute. That could be a two option scenario. We could actually come off with a new service on that side or use the existing and just run the line through. So, still to be determined on that. I don't have exact numbers on that. The city water reroute, I don't have exact numbers on that yet either because the line has not been ran. So what I would like to ask the council for to cover all expenses is for 425,000 that will allow me for the bills from my

18:02 – 18:460

stats am gas reroute and city water reroute that should cover all of the above. So we're including a bit of a I mean I may have missed this about a 10% buffer in there as well because we know when we start taking some things off we're going to find some things. Um, but in talking with Mau Stutz, Keith was of the opinion that that's a probably a pretty good plan. So, we think that we can put this building down and filled and come in under the 425 number. That's awesome. And they with approval this evening, they will start probably by end of the month.

18:44 – 19:170

Oh, okay. And then how much did you were you saying you needed? 425,000. That's what I'm asking for. That should cover all of the We have this money. This was this was part of the money that came from the sale of the water department and we have messed around with what we were going to do for years and years. So, uh, we're fortunate we have this money in the bank. We don't need to go and borrow it from anybody.

19:15 – 19:590

Yeah. No, I I get that. And then the other only other couple thing is I I know River City. I know what they can do. I don't know much about Kenzel and what how will they be able to handle a job this size? I I don't they come highly recommended work in the city of Keith. I'm not trying to go I know River City. I know seen them around. I know Kinsel's out of out of Canton. I like to keep stuff local. So, so Keith Keith invited a bunch of people to bid this and then then posted it for open bidding and Kenzel is one that he invited. He has worked with them.

19:55 – 20:130

Um, so so just just background. So Mau Stuts has offices in Poria and in Canton. Keith Glavic, who has been our engineer for a long time, is now the president of Mau

20:10 – 20:510

and he is really good to us, doesn't stare steer us astray. He's very conservative. So if he puts his name on something, he stands behind it. Um we do have a bonding with this. I mean, we are covered in, you know, in light of the worst case scenarios by allowing Mau Stuts to run this bid process. We got everything right with the bonds and the insurance and the abatement and all that, you know. So, this was money well spent and Keith Keith put this thing down and then he had his team go through them to make sure that everything was included.

20:50 – 21:330

All right. I'll make a motion to approve up to 425,000 to demo the old high school part of the old junior high second including removal. Yeah. And and and that is in part in part of all the bids too. So we're only bidding they're subbing all this. So So that was a motion motion. Motion from Alex, second from Nate. That is most definitely a roll call. Gillis, yes. Bogs, yes. Smith, yes. Fleming, yes. Rose, yes. Cruising, yes.

21:30 – 22:110

All right. Thank you. Um, we will get with Keith to get everything signed and get the ball rolling or slamming into things as the case may be. All right. The only other piece of new business I have for this evening is I would like to do seven more windows in the 501c3 wing. Um the new windows that Tony put in this last fall have made the world of difference. Sure. Um and it they're quiet. They're double pained. We don't have window infiltration. Herb is Herb still over there.

22:08 – 22:500

Um it's quiet. We have a dog that barks across the street all the time with the new windows. I don't hear it. Um, and so I, you know, seven, seven windows is a about a month's worth of work for Tony. It's a good number and those are really nice windows. So, with the council's permission, I'd like to buy seven more windows. Make a motion to approve the $4,900. Thank you. So, Alex with a motion. Dave Rose with a second. All in. Uh, no, we need a roll call for that. Gillis, yes. Bogs, yes. Smith, yes. Fleming, yes. Rose, yes. Cruzen, yes.

22:48 – 23:240

All right. Um, that's all the new business I have for this evening. Um, committee reports. Jenny, do you have anything this evening? Do not. Thank you. Thank you. Sorry you're not feeling well. We hope you feel better. Um, Joey, anything further? Public safety report. Nate Fleming. Uh sewer and I'm I'm okay. Uh Alex Garbage, nothing to report. Um I do want to say I don't know the exact date.

23:21 – 24:060

I got Waste Management to agree to do curbside spring pickup for this year only in light of the demolition. And he's talking about May I'll get everybody the date. I think it's like the first week in May. So, what it would be is if your garbage is on Tuesday, then your spring cleanup day would be Tuesday. If your garbage is on Friday, your spring cleanup day is on Friday. We will be mailing a flyer to everybody, but we're going to do they they agreed to do curbside for us this year because of this. So, um sorry, I didn't mean to hijack you.

24:03 – 24:360

No, no, thanks for the reminder. So, um, Leslie, that's you. Parks and wreck. I have nothing tonight. Thanks. And Dave, you got anything more? Nothing to report, sir. Phoenix Gallery. Pretty quiet here now. That's the case. Motion to second. Have a motion and a second to adjurnn. All in favor say I. Opposed. Thank you, folks. Thanks, Bill. Thanks, Bill.
