Over the past few months, I have gone to meet our small business community, accompanied by several members of my team. We have collected the lives of more than a hundred companies through an investigation, round tables and visits on site. And we really want to collect feedback on what it means to do business in Éverett. And what we have heard is that the increase in costs is a major concern. 87% stated that it had become more difficult to do business in the last two years. We have also heard concerns about permits. Companies want faster and simpler municipal processes, especially for authorizations. Public safety was their absolute priority. You know, we asked what life could do for companies, and they answered, continue to invest in public safety. It was one of the major challenges they faced as a company. But they also saw progress, which made me very happy, given the investments you have supported in public safety. Companies also want our help to reach more customers, in particular by supporting marketing and tourism in Éverett. But despite some challenges, the overall perspectives that we have gathered with the business community were very positive. They have seen great positive changes in Everett and are very optimistic about the future of their activity here. I encourage you to consult the report that we have published on our website. and we will use these feedbacks from the business community by examining in particular the specific financial pressures to identify concrete means by which the city can be the best partner and support for our local businesses.
