Thanks. Alright. Tonight is Wednesday, April 29. It is 06:32PM, and I am calling to order the meeting the special meeting of the sustainability advisory board. We do have a quorum.

0:17 – 0:52Speaker 1

Present are Mackenzie, Kathleen, Art, Anne, Karen, and Erica, our staff liaison extraordinaire. So let's kick it off. First up on the agenda, we have oops. I have way too many screens open. Approval of the agenda. Do I have a motion to approve the agenda for this evening?

0:54Speaker 1

Art moved. Second? Second. I'm sorry. Who said that?

1:01Speaker 3

Yeah. I don't know why.

1:06Speaker 1

And is it possible for you to turn on your camera?

1:10Speaker 3

Yeah. Give me a oh my goodness.

1:12 – 1:42Speaker 1

Hold on. Sure. Alright. So we have a motion to approve. All in favor, aye. Any opposed? No opposed. Motion passes. Second up, we've got the approval of previous meeting minutes. So this is approval of the sustainability advisory board meeting minutes from March 4. Do I have a motion to approve those minutes? I'll approve. Kathleen, motions to approve. Second?

1:45Speaker 1

Art seconds. All in favor, aye.

1:49 – 2:07Speaker 1

Any opposed? No. Okay. Public comment. Let's see. We, of course, do not have any public comment because we went through

2:08Speaker 2

That's special.

2:08 – 2:35Speaker 1

The laborious task of getting the disclaimer. So Mhmm. No public comment. We will move on to general business. Council member updates. And we do have councilor Pesaramelli on. Hello? He was on.

2:39Speaker 2

Yeah. Sorry. I'm here.

2:41Speaker 1

How are you?

2:43Speaker 2

Good. How are you?

2:44Speaker 1

Good. So we are on council member updates. So just wondering if you have any updates for us from the town council.

2:50Speaker 2

No updates, but, I have all appreciation for the event, and it was very well organized.

2:58Speaker 2

Kudos to the team.

3:00 – 3:13Speaker 1

Thank you very much. Yes. I I thought it was a resounding success, so thank you very much. Alright. Staff liaison updates. Erica.

3:15 – 3:56Speaker 4

Yeah. So I'm just going to keep this shorter than normal just because we've got a lot to talk through. But because I have you all, there's just a few things we gotta chat about. So first was well done on Arbor Earth Day. What I have heard is an estimated 3,000 attendees, which is exciting. I would say it was the smoothest event that I've been part of yet. I think what Art has to say is even more valuable because what this was, like, 11 or 12, Art. But I was just so so grateful for all of you. I feel like there was such great feedback. It was so well received.

3:56 – 4:26Speaker 4

The vendors felt very smooth. The food trucks felt so smooth. All the materials, all the partners, like, well done. And a big shout out to Karen for all her hard work organizing. And if you haven't seen the document yet, it is a well oiled machine now. Thanks to her. Everything is organized, so thank you. And then also to Art. Art also is on the planning team and did a lot of the work in the background. So thank you so much to all of you. Thanks, Erica. Well done.

4:26 – 4:48Speaker 1

Yeah. Yeah. Thank you, Art. Thank you, Kathleen and Mackenzie, for showing up and weathering the frigid early morning temperature, but I thought it was great. I thought it was well received. Everyone I talked to seemed to be, you know, super excited. So I got some vendor feedback afterwards. That was really positive as well. So cool.

4:49 – 5:10Speaker 4

Fantastic. Fantastic. And it is event season. So Emma is going to be running the show for cleanup day on Saturday, so I wanted to see who all was planning on attending that. I know it's been a while since we've connected. So is anyone planning to attend?

5:12Speaker 1

I'll be out of town, unfortunately.

5:15 – 5:49Speaker 4

Okay. So definitely Art and Mackenzie. Okay. And Emma and Caleb will be there from staff side, and I think the plan is to be there around seven. I think that's at peers that I can confirm. It's probably safe to say, you know, show up 07:30 before eight. If you can if you can come later, that's great as well. We'll have a tent. We'll have chairs from the public works team. We'll have LED kits.

5:49 – 6:32Speaker 4

We'll have lots of the same flyers as we had, those rebate flyers as well as the pie flyers. I'm just gonna print a handful of others, just a few of them, and then we'll talk about town fair. But I did have a request if anyone was willing to pick up the cookies on Friday at five. And Art is distracted right now. I can pick it up. Mackenzie, you don't mind? Okay. If you don't mind picking up the cookies at five at Stacy's, that would be awesome. Okay. Will do. Will pay for them before. I'll pay for them after. Stacy notes we're good for it. So thank you. And then there's some dishwasher tabs left.

6:32Speaker 4

Wanted to ask if you guys wanted those there at cleanup day or if you wanna save them for town fair or another event.

6:38 – 7:11Speaker 1

I think I'd rather save them for the town fair and the farmer's markets. Cool. Okay. Yeah. The it's you know, the cleanup day, I think, is hard because everyone's trying to get out there, so it's it's kind of difficult. But I think they're probably I would say we probably went through about 400 of those. So we've probably have 200 left of those packets. Okay. Did I say

7:11 – 7:35Speaker 4

that right? Karen, I would have to connect with Emma and Tara, but I think there's a handful that there wasn't enough small envelopes for, but they are the bigger ones. Oh. So if you all if you all want their estimate wrapped up, I wanna say there was, I don't know, twenty, thirty maybe is what they shared, but I can get specifics. But, yeah, I'm I bet your estimate is correct plus whatever isn't already wrapped up.

7:35Speaker 1

Okay. Okay. Sounds good. And like I said, I

7:37 – 8:07Speaker 4

think there was some overage. I don't I think they account for things getting crumbled and some being broken and whatever. So Mhmm. Cool. Mhmm. The dust. Alright. Thank you so much. That sounds great. I will let Emma know. And then town fair, that is May 16, I believe, from ten to four. I will be there, and Tara will be there from staff side. Is anyone interested in hanging out with us and having a blast? I can be there,

8:08 – 8:27Speaker 1

I think, from well, I can definitely be there from ten to noon or earlier if you need setup help. Okay. And then I Okay. I may be sliding over to the Erie Police Department's booth. So definitely ten to noon, I can do. I might be able to do more.

8:28 – 8:41Speaker 3

I could come That sounds good. At, like, noon and kinda trick take your spot, Karen, if you want. Okay. What would be I will have had surgery on my wrist earlier that week, so I won't be able to, like, carry boxes, but I can be there and chat with people.

8:42Speaker 4

Just have your hand above

8:44Speaker 1

your card. This. Hey. Come talk to me.

8:49Speaker 3

Right. But I can be there for sure. I'm putting it on my calendar.

8:52Speaker 4

That'd be great, Kathleen. And if you wanna bring Henry, that's even better.

8:57Speaker 2

You need an ice machine? You need an ice machine for your wrist?

9:04Speaker 3

You know, I haven't gotten the instructions yet. I'll let you know next week after my pre op meeting. Alright.

9:10Speaker 2

Let me know.

9:12Speaker 2

You're welcome. It's an it's got a pump, electric. You know? It has the

9:16Speaker 3

My dad rented one of those for knee surgery, I think, from the hospital. I

9:20Speaker 2

had one for shoulder and knee. So, yes, I

9:23Speaker 3

I hope I don't need it. It's supposed to be a minor surgery, but we'll see.

9:30 – 9:46Speaker 4

I can be there after as well. Mackenzie. Perfect. Probably around one. Okay. Perfect. That sounds great. And then, Karen, if you can come help for setup, that's awesome. We could just meet up here.

9:46Speaker 1

Yeah. I can do that.

9:48 – 9:59Speaker 4

Actually, just text me. Depend and you can just see where we're at. Okay. Kinda depends on where they have us set up, but we it was so easy for us to just, like, roll with the wagon from the office to

10:00Speaker 1

Right. I can bring I've got one too, so I could bring one

10:02 – 10:30Speaker 4

of those. So That'd be great. Awesome. Thanks, everybody. Sure. And then Emma just wanted to just plug the farmers markets. I think I shared the schedule with all of you. So if you all have dates you wanna attend, that would be awesome. Love to have you and just start the farmer's market season off with a bang. We'll also have the capstone students at a lot of those events too, so we should have a good booth of of quite a few folks, which is fun.

10:31 – 10:45Speaker 1

I can do the at least one, if not both of the June ones. I cannot do the July, and I didn't look out as far as August, but I could do the June ones.

10:45Speaker 5

Do we have a spreadsheet, like,

10:48 – 11:00Speaker 1

Oh, spreadsheet. We don't, but it's Erica added them to the set or I added them. They're on that SAP calendar that I created. So there's two in June, I think one in July, and two in August.

11:02Speaker 3

I could probably do the July one. I will be out of town for in June, though, so I could help if you tell me the date.

11:10Speaker 5

way for us to put on that calendar that we're going, or do we just accept the invite to show up?

11:16 – 11:30Speaker 1

You know, I didn't add attendees to that. I can. I'll go I can go ahead and do that after the meeting, and then you can RSVP. And if you RSVP, then the expectation is that you're there. Perfect. So

11:33 – 12:07Speaker 4

Sounds great. Thanks, y'all. Great. And then just one last plug. We brainstormed some flyers today to get printed for town fair. So the list is Resource Central flyers for that pickup service that they do. Just so if people have questions, we can just, like, hand it to them. Emma's gonna have a handful of these also at cleanup day too just for folks that come through. The interesting dynamic we talked about, and I know you all know this well, but just to say out loud, is it gets weird with clean update because you don't wanna, like, hold people up too much. They're not super patient with that.

12:08 – 12:46Speaker 4

So we'll just have a few of these just in case it comes up. And then at town fair, obviously, we'll have more. And then we're gonna do your your pollinator flyers, McKenzie. We created a recycling center flyer. I don't know if I ever communicated this to you all. Emma created this with our comms team, and we shared it with the Front Range Landfill so that they have that. So if people come with materials that can be diverted, they can just hand them over. And I I think this was, like, one of your all's ideas in the first place, so thank you. It's come to fruition. But we are gonna print that out so that we have information just for folks that aren't familiar with the recycling center. And then the community fruit rescue, we're gonna print some of those too. Yay.

12:46 – 12:57Speaker 4

you have other flyers you want printed, please send me an email, and we'll work to get those those printed. Okay. That's it for me because we got some work to do.

12:57Speaker 1

Okay. So advisory board member updates. I have a couple of things. Does anyone have anything before I go?

13:08 – 13:53Speaker 5

I can just say that the workshop for the b hotel went really well. It was the largest group I've seen yet. We had 30 hotels ready to give out. And even though there were a lot of people, like, everyone just all the groups just took one. There was one family that took two because they had two two kiddos, but we have 15 left. So I'm doing another workshop on the thirtieth at noon if anyone wants to join. And then the library also asked me to do a presentation on the best seeds for pollinators in conjunction with the library doing their seed library. Amazing. McKenzie. Nice.

13:53Speaker 5

So that's on May 9, the day before Mother's Day. Cool.

13:59Speaker 1

That's That's awesome.

14:00 – 14:19Speaker 5

Oh, I had a a mini update too. I did pollinator surveys for the three, like, pollinator gardens we have here, and I think it was a little bit too early. I did find some bugs, but there were some places where nothing was blooming, and I didn't find any signs of life. So I might have jumped again.

14:20Speaker 1

Are you gonna try to redo them, like or just

14:24 – 14:35Speaker 5

Yeah. Practice? I'm probably gonna end up doing it, like, a couple times throughout the season just to kinda see if I can catch different pollinators out in the wild.

14:35Speaker 1

Right. Okay. And do you have you have in June don't you have a couple of workshops?

14:44Speaker 5

I don't think I have any in June

14:46Speaker 3

No? Okay. Scheduled.

14:48 – 15:19Speaker 1

I don't know what I was thinking then. Okay. Cool. Alright. So let's see. Our birthday already said thank you. '3 are they really thinking 3,000? That seems a little high. But I would say that there's there was definitely as many, if not a little more than last year. So but I'm not good with numbers.

15:23 – 15:40Speaker 1

Erica, you covered all my updates. Okay. So jumping down to there's no meeting in May. Just wanted to make sure you all were aware that we are not meeting next week. That's all I got.

15:44 – 16:06Speaker 1

Alright. Next up, we've got the applicant reviews. And before I turn it over to Erica, I just wanna go through the key summary points that Michelle had sent out earlier to all of the advisory board members. So just as a reminder, we've got five open positions. There are eight applicants.

16:07 – 16:57Speaker 1

Four of those five positions are for three year terms. One is for a one year term. That would have been for the applicant that would be had been for the position vacated by Ronaldo. So they have here that in the rankings, the first four will fill the four year or three year terms, and then the next in line will fill the one year term. So those all the members will take their place at the June meeting, and that is also where we will have to do officer elections because officer elections happen every year.

16:57 – 17:37Speaker 1

So that June meeting will be, like, a slam dunk brand new board configuration and officer elections. So you all should have your score sheets that were sent out, and, hopefully, you've had a chance now multiple times to review the applicants. I am going to share my screen so that we can pull up the applications since it's a matter of public record. That seemed the easiest way to do it without having to oh, Erica, do you wanna pull them up? I have them all pulled up. If

17:38Speaker 4

No. I I think if you can pull them up, that'd great. I was just gonna share the scorecard and just give a quick explanation on it, Karen, if it's okay. I think

17:48Speaker 1

Yeah. Absolutely. Absolutely. And in fact, I could just I could just turn it over to you now, but I can't share my screen if you're still sharing. So

17:55 – 18:31Speaker 4

No. No. No. Let me just let me just share the scorecard. And then if you wanna jump in applications and sharing those, that'd be awesome. Okay. But I just think it'd helpful before we get started. So you all have this scorecard. And just to make sure we're all on the same page, what we're going to do is we're gonna go through each applicant, and then you all you can have a discussion if there's things you want to share about that person's application, highlights, you know, questions you have. And then you're gonna individually score each applicant in the four questions, and you can see it's one through five.

18:32 – 19:14Speaker 4

And then you're gonna total that up for each applicant. And then what's gonna happen is after we get through everyone's applications and scoring them, I'm gonna have you all save and either email me this to my work email, or you can also take a photo if that's easier. If you have a paper copy, and then just send me that photo in my email. And then I have the the scoring rubric that I shared earlier, and I'm gonna actually tally these up, and we're gonna have a conversation. I'm gonna do my best to do this quickly once you give me your scorecards, but we'll see. We might have some some elevator music in the background or something for a while. But, Karen, I just wanted to share this, and I'm turning it over to you. Okay.

19:17 – 20:18Speaker 1

So before we get into this, I just I would like to make the comment that I know that this has been a challenging and frustrating process. And while I feel like we got a little bit closer to a process that seemed a little more equitable, I personally still think it's very flawed. And we are going to have to be doing this again next year in 2027 because we will have three vacancies because Mackenzie and Arts will be up for reapplying, and then whoever is the in that fifth ranking position will also be up for it. So I'm not sure if this is the final on the process. I I hope it's not.

20:19 – 21:02Speaker 1

And I think that I would like not just our advisory board, but I I have a feeling that based on me watching other advisory board applicant reviews that I feel like this needs a little tweaking still. So that's my caveat. So we've got first up in the applications is Anne. And so when you're going through the and and this is the part that is a little bit flawed, is that your ranking is ranking the application questions. That is what you're ranking.

21:02Speaker 1

Karen, can you scroll down so Mhmm.

21:06Speaker 4

That page isn't isn't showing? Thank you.

21:12 – 21:39Speaker 1

So that is that is why after the ranking takes place, you know, the ranking is not necessarily a a done deal. There's discussion. I think unless you have specific things you wanna point out, we can you can work on your scorecards. Just I'll go through these. I'll leave some time to scroll through.

21:39 – 21:59Speaker 1

If you've got them up on your own computer and you wanna work at your own pace, I think that's great. After we're all done sending in our rankings to Erica and she compiles them, then we have an opportunity to have a further discussion about what those rankings say. So

22:00 – 22:16Speaker 2

Alright. So I have a question. Mhmm. Is there a live scorecard someplace that is not in view of anybody that's watching this so that they don't know how we're scoring each individual? And and how do I get to that? Is there

22:18 – 22:47Speaker 1

So all of the score I mean, you're filling your scoring cards out individually right now, but your scores are all a matter of public record. So when they are they are sent to Erica for compilation, they are also sent to the town clerk. They become a matter of public record. So it all it's all transparent that way. So even though no one may be seeing your scorecards right this moment as you're filling them out, they are a matter of public record.

22:47 – 23:05Speaker 2

Right. So, Erica, do you see my scorecard that I filled out prior to the meeting? Is that out there? Alright. Because I I did fill it out online and saved it. I don't know.

23:06Speaker 4

Yeah. You would just need to find that art and then share it with me if it's a OneDoc or download it and then share it via email as a document.

23:16Speaker 3

And that might be do we have

23:18Speaker 4

a town clerk on still?

23:20Speaker 2

Do I have what?

23:22Speaker 4

The town clerk. We do. Yes.

23:30 – 23:48Speaker 4

Yeah. Or we would just want you to go back through that because we're gonna have we well, I guess if you folks don't wanna have a conversation about these applications and just go right into scoring, that's great. But, ideally, we were gonna score altogether as a group during this meeting.

23:50Speaker 3

I'm good with doing it individually if it's make they're more efficient. Yeah. I guess I'm confused. I thought we were supposed to do it individually and then send it

24:00 – 24:43Speaker 1

to You are doing it individually in that you will complete your scorecard and share it with Erica. However, your scores are not confidential. They are a matter of public record. So whether we say our scores out loud or we fill the scorecard out and give it to Erica, she will need to pull that up and then share that publicly. It was also thought that it would be a good idea to go through the applications together, at least to look through them.

24:44 – 25:08Speaker 1

And like I said, if if you're all looking at them on your own computers, I don't necessarily need to share the screen. They are in the agenda. Anyone can click on the applications. So it it's up to you. If you feel like you've gone through these or you have them pulled up on your computer right now individually, I don't have to share the screen and go through each application.

25:11 – 25:45Speaker 4

Just for a little bit of context, the tree advisory board and and you can speak to Karen, if that's helpful. But they they went through each application and just had, like, a really high level kind of general short discussion around each applicant. Like, oh, they have board experience, and it's obvious that they're passionate about this topic area or they have experience in this category. I really like their goals, for example. So you all can have that conversation if you think there's benefit to that as a group, or you can just go straight into doing it on your own, and we can have that conversation once we get that ranking.

25:47 – 26:30Speaker 1

I watched both Ostab and Treeboard, how they did it, and they they like Erica said, TAB handled it differently than Ostab did. Ostab had the applications up on the screen. People were viewing them on their computer themselves. They ranked. The ranking was shown. Then they had a discussion in what that final ranking looked like, and then they made a motion to approve the ranking. So, you know, I my my thought on the matter is I think we've all looked at these. This is the second time we've had to go through them. I'm not sure. It warrants a long discussion on each application.

26:33 – 26:46Speaker 1

Certainly, if when the ranking comes out, we feel the need to revisit, especially if there are close rankings. But it's your it's it's a group decision. So

26:56Speaker 3

I'm we can walk through them. I think or Karen. Sorry. If you wanna just pull them up and go through, we can walk through them.

27:05 – 27:29Speaker 1

Okay. So we're looking at Anne's application. And so, you know, obviously, Anne has been on the board. This is Anne's original application from when she was first appointed on the board. So, you know, I mean, here's the Sorry.

27:31Speaker 3

And I forget the email probably sent this, and I didn't read it. Do I abstain on my own?

27:37Speaker 1

No. So everyone votes including voting for themselves if they choose to.

27:42Speaker 1

So, you know, if you want to abstain, you can, but, you know, you can vote for yourself. You can rank yourself.

27:54 – 28:10Speaker 2

So unlike her item number two, you know, if you if you if you look at question two, it says no board experience or no and so that is totally flawed to me because she has had experience as I did.

28:10Speaker 1

The challenge is this is the application that we have to do the ranking because,

28:17Speaker 4

you know, I don't

28:18 – 28:39Speaker 1

think any of us who were returning thought that we were gonna have to go through the laborious process of crafting a from scratch application. So and didn't. She just said see previous application. This is the previous application. So as far as ranking is concerned, this is all we have to go on.

28:40 – 29:08Speaker 1

So, you know, take it with a grain of salt. This is this is question two, that is what you are ranking. Question one, you know, Anne's worked in the environmental field for most of her career. You know, I think we know also a lot about her background just from her being on the board. But, again, this process was designed to apply the ranking to each of these particular questions.

29:23 – 30:17Speaker 1

Question three is a situation with a small group disagreement. You know, I think at the at the end of the day, Anne's takeaway was that, you know, you you move on in a constructive way after you've shared your opinion and your perspective, and, you know, you you get down to the task of executing the project as as it's assigned. And then question four, you know, the opportunity to make a difference in the community, you know, and that's that's huge because that's really our strong suit as a board. And also to work with the Erie Schools to develop pilot programs. I know we talked a little bit about that in one of our previous meetings.

30:17 – 30:55Speaker 1

Student engagement is huge for us. Okay. If if it's okay, I'm gonna move on to Enrique Barantes. And so why are you interested in serving on the board? Passion with advancing environmental responsibility, choosing eco friendly accommodations during vacations, low waste.

30:55 – 31:22Speaker 1

So definitely a sense of personal passion for sustainability. I didn't quite know how to take this second paragraph. Yeah. Think in the nearby Broomfield, Boulder County area. I I did reach out to Michelle, and we did confirm that Enrique is a resident of Erie.

31:23 – 32:18Speaker 1

So I'm not sure why that's worded this way, but he is a resident. So he was vetted through that process. You know, it looks like his background, you know, is he he's in the energy sector at Chevron, and he's got cross functional team experience, green programming, collaboration. Enrique has not served on any other boards or commissions. You know, one thing that so I'm just gonna skip over.

32:18Speaker 1

I I I don't think we need to read all of these, honestly. But

32:22Speaker 3

Agreed. Thank you.

32:23 – 33:31Speaker 1

You know, if there's something as I scroll through these, if there's something, absolutely feel free to chime in. I will say that this one the answer to this the last question about the goals, I'm not sure how to read this because I worry and and this is another part of the process that I have a little bit of a problem with the fact that we can't talk to applicants prior to making these recommendations, that this is all we have to go on. And and and, really, this application is all they have to go on in terms of what the advisory board actually does. And I am concerned I am always concerned that when people apply to be an applicant for the sustainability advisory board, that they think that somehow we set policy at the town level, and and we don't. So

33:32Speaker 3

Yeah. Karen, I comment on one of the applicants saying, I think he's looking for something else.

33:40 – 34:10Speaker 1

I saw that. Yeah. Right. So, again, I think it's a flaw in the process, but it is what it is. So okay. Moving along to Karen Winkler. So what you see is what you get. I mean, I I did repurpose a lot of my application from my original one, but I updated it to include what I've been currently doing.

34:11Speaker 2

Who is this?

34:28 – 35:24Speaker 1

Move on to Kathleen. So one thing that I would love to see, seeing as it's so well outlined here, is there are so many things on Kathleen's if you were reappointed list that I think need to be on that priorities brainstorming

35:25Speaker 3

list. I did not realize it showed up so awkwardly in my like, when I submitted it, it was a list of bullet points, but it looks really funky on here. Did not realize that.

35:34Speaker 3

I also did it from my phone, so it looked different on my phone than a computer.

35:41 – 36:24Speaker 1

Okay. Next in line. We've got Megan Anders. So, you know, I think I think everyone who applies for these positions or these, yeah, advisory board seats, they have a a high level of personal passion towards sustainability. So I don't think, you know, any of that is is ever in question.

36:26 – 36:39Speaker 1

Megan hasn't served on any boards, but she does have experience leading other advisory type memberships.

36:49Speaker 2

She also seems to have a an extensive education background in this area.

36:54 – 37:15Speaker 1

Uh-huh. Yeah. It looks like she's got a sales and energy audit background.

37:28 – 37:41Speaker 2

So she's got a master's in engineering, that she's supposed to complete in, May 2026. And I wonder if she's currently in Wisconsin. Or

37:47Speaker 3

It's they could be

37:48Speaker 1

Where are you seeing that?

37:51Speaker 2

It's in her she got an attached resume.

37:58Speaker 1

Oh, see, he okay. So here's the thing. We're not looking at resumes. We're like,

38:04Speaker 3

this is I'm sorry.

38:05 – 38:37Speaker 1

This is the process. Like, right. And so as far as I I don't know how to take that because I'll take were were we supposed to read the resumes? Are we supposed to let that influence the ranking? The rankings are supposed to feed further questions. So this just goes back to my my the fact that I think that there's still more to go to make this a, you know, ironclad process.

38:45Speaker 3

Okay. Alright, guys.

38:48 – 39:16Speaker 1

If you're okay, I'm gonna move on to Robert. I'm I'm not I don't know what eGauge is, but it looks like, you know, there's some experience there with energy initiatives.

39:19 – 39:32Speaker 4

A quick reminder, you all, if you could send your score sheet to me and to the clerk's office, that is awesome. They're gonna need the your copy as well. Okay.

39:33 – 39:53Speaker 2

Okay. So I should, negate the fact that I looked into, some backgrounds on line and then into what engages and or eGauge systems and just looking at the form that he provided?

39:53 – 40:06Speaker 1

No. I would say if it's in the questions if it's if it's information that is contained in the questions that we're supposed to be rank ranking, then that's one thing.

40:08 – 41:37Speaker 1

you know, I I just I until we get to the discussion after we see how the rankings come out based on the the ranking of the questions, we can certainly have a larger discussion around whether or not those rankings really suit what what we think in terms of the broader picture. Like and that and that's, to me, the flaw in the process is that the ranking is very specific in ranking these four questions. That's all it's asking. In Robert's, I was most glad to see that he ends his with I admittedly do not have a full understanding of the sustainability board's needs and objectives because, again, I I mean, unless unless somebody watches our meetings, reads our minutes, knows somebody on the board, I I don't think that an application gives a well rounded idea of what the board actually does. Okay.

41:37 – 42:00Speaker 1

Next up, we have Thomas Lease, Controller at Charm Industrial, carbon removal company. Has not served on a municipal board or commission, but has other cross functional leadership group experience.

42:02Speaker 3

Thomas is the one that I well, is this Thomas William? William Thomas is who I No.

42:11Speaker 1

I think you're thinking of William there's William Thomas, and then there's Thomas Lease.

42:17Speaker 3

That's right. Okay. Thank you.

42:23 – 43:24Speaker 1

So and I I think, again, like like I did with Enrique's application, exploring fiscally responsible approaches to renewable energy adoption and energy efficiency and partnerships between local government businesses and residents. So it's not that we can't make that something that we champion, but, again, we don't set policy. So that's you know, my my hope is that there's some way to get a clearer understanding of the advisory board's role and how it differs from town staff and town council. Council. So and last but not least, we have William Thomas.

43:30Speaker 3

I had a for him, same. Wondering if he understands what it's about.

44:12 – 44:38Speaker 1

You know, I mean, there's something to be said about anyone who's who is a proponent of community engagement because I think that's a huge piece too. Okay. I'm gonna stop talking, and I'm gonna start ranking.

45:00Speaker 2

So is there a scorecard online here that I can fill out? Because I can't pull up my, saved one and send it to Erica. So

45:11Speaker 1

Art, I can email you the one that

45:19 – 45:54Speaker 2

Well, maybe it's because I have too many things open at once, but let me see. Alright.

45:55Speaker 1

I I just sent you the the file art.

45:59Speaker 3

Erica, I emailed you mine. Let me know if you don't get it. Same.

46:04Speaker 4

I I got it, Kathleen. And I just got yours as well.

46:31 – 46:42Speaker 2

Yes. Sorry. This is Anil. I have to drop for another meeting, and just wanted to let you all know. Thank you.

46:42Speaker 1

Alright. Thanks.

46:43Speaker 2

Uh-huh. Bye bye.

46:52Speaker 4

And you can you can abstain if you want to for spraying yourself, but I would recommend that you don't.

46:59Speaker 3

It just feels so weird.

47:01Speaker 4

No. It's okay. Go for it. Wait.

47:05Speaker 1

What did you say about that, Erica?

47:07Speaker 3

I abstained, and she told me not.

47:11Speaker 1

So don't score

47:11Speaker 4

yourself? No. Please score yourself. Oh. Yeah. And so I just wanna update it.

47:19Speaker 3

So that it was, like, across the board. But, yeah, it feels weird.

47:26Speaker 5

Yeah. If you're not giving yourself a five,

47:28Speaker 3

I don't know what you're doing. If we're not all giving each other fives.

47:59Speaker 1

I I'm getting there. My computer is not cooperating with me right now.

48:29Speaker 1

just gonna have to send you a picture of it, Erica. Oh, wait.

48:38Speaker 2

I'm gonna do the same.

49:24Speaker 1

Is anybody else's changing all of their rankings to dates? Mm-mm.

49:30 – 49:49Speaker 3

Yeah. I just reformatted it to be general. Are you doing it in, like, PDF or some editor? I did it myself. Oh, I didn't even think to do that. I did it, like, in the document on PDF. So mine are all, like, not in the exact spots they should be, but I think it makes sense, Erica.

49:51Speaker 1

I I'm not I'm just gonna take a picture of it because this is really annoying.

49:58Speaker 4

Pictures are perfect.

50:00 – 50:25Speaker 3

Mhmm. I feel like I live in in a PDF editor for, like, lease documents and stuff, so that's the one thing I can handle, like, editing pretty soon. And I was like, you use the PDF. Your entire world is in Excel. I know that. I literally live in those two items. But I use my work computer because I have, like, PDF Pro, so I can actually edit it. So that's why I was like, this is easy.

50:29 – 50:40Speaker 2

So, Erica, I emailed mine to you a photo of what I did. Let me know if you don't get it. I have my senior moment, I guess.

50:43Speaker 4

Alright. I got it, and it's perfect. Give me just a second.

50:47Speaker 2

All good. Keep smiling.

52:21Speaker 4

This is where we need the elevator music. And you sent to

52:28Speaker 1

email that to the town clerk too?

52:31 – 53:08Speaker 4

Yeah. That'd be great. Have this regularly occurring meeting, and it's very climate, like, policy legislation focused. Like, it is not a light topic, but they start the meeting off with, like, rap of the day or, like, a country song. And it's it's pretty fun. You know? Somebody just had something playing while people trickle into the Zoom. Food for thought for your meetings. What would be Sab's theme song? Anybody have any ideas?

53:09 – 53:25Speaker 1

I don't know. That is a good question. Something something rather chaotic, but pretty, but flowery.

53:26Speaker 3

I don't know.

53:27 – 53:38Speaker 5

It might depend on how we're feeling. Like, if it's right before Arbor Day, Earth Day, then it might be, like, a parody of, like, this girl is on fire.

53:42 – 53:59Speaker 4

I like that one too. I've been really liking you guys know the song Spanish Flowers. I think it's the Sprat House Band. Don't quote me, but it's been coming up on Pandora for me, and it's it's a pretty good one. You can't, like, not smile. Alright, Karen. I'm waiting on one more.

54:00Speaker 1

Yeah. Me. You're waiting on me. I just it's not going through.

54:10Speaker 4

Can you just just take a photo and then just text

54:13Speaker 1

it take a photo. Can I just text it to you Yeah? Instead and then I'll figure out how to actually email it to

54:19Speaker 4

Well, I could just forward it to Tim from there. So why don't you just because I have my email on my phone.

54:30 – 54:52Speaker 1

Alright. Well, I just sent it to you. Did you get it?

57:26Speaker 4

Alright. Big reveal. Right. This is what I have,

57:44 – 58:17Speaker 4

This would be the top five based on composite scores. Now it's open to you all to decide if you'd like to have a conversation about this or have any discussion. Is there anything that you'd like to change about this? Again, just to reiterate, you do not have to go off of this ranking. You can actually change, know, with discussion and support from the board and a vote.

58:17 – 59:02Speaker 4

But this is just as your scoring came out, this is the composite scores for each applicant. Mackenzie says thumbs up. Take that as she likes the scoring as is. Again, to reiterate to the recommendation from the clerk's office is that the person with the lowest score that you'd like to recommend for the board is recommended for that one year, the remainder of Ronaldo's term, and then the four other higher scored applicants would be recommended for the the three year terms.

59:05 – 59:23Speaker 3

I think that looks fine to me. Mirrors my scoring. Same. Yeah. Alright. Karen, I would just like to congratulate you on your perfect 100. We obviously love you. Not surprising. Hear. Hear.

59:24Speaker 1

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Okay. I I am good with the ranking as it is.

59:36 – 59:48Speaker 1

Does anyone have any I know I know this changes something. I believe that this was not the recommendation the first time around,

59:51 – 1:00:32Speaker 1

I I do feel badly about that. But on the other hand, you know, originally, it was it was one person. Poor Mackenzie was tasked with doing this with no other input. And I I do think having all of us be able to give input was, I think, vital to any sort of review process. So I would make a well, can I make the motions?

1:00:34 – 1:01:06Speaker 1

Yeah. I always wondered. Can I make a motion to approve the ranking as shown and tallied by Erica with Karen, Kathleen, Anne, and William recommended for a three year term and Megan recommended for a one year term? Do I have a second?

1:01:06Speaker 3

I have a second.

1:01:08 – 1:01:31Speaker 1

Kathleen seconds. I'll take a roll call vote, I think. Don't we have to do a roll call with something like this? So Kathleen? You just say yay or nay. Yes or no? Yeah. I'm sorry. I was like, what? Anne?

1:01:33Speaker 1

Mackenzie. Yay. Art.

1:01:38 – 1:01:53Speaker 1

Myself. Yay. Motion passes. Five are unanimous. I don't know. Oh, I love your little emotion.

1:01:53Speaker 2

Yeah. That was beautiful.

1:01:56 – 1:02:27Speaker 1

Okay. So, again, we won't meet in May. Our next scheduled meeting will be June 3. Thank you all for sticking with the process, and we will convene again as a full board in June. It is Erica, do we have anything else to do with this this applicant process?

1:02:29 – 1:02:49Speaker 4

I think we'll just want to summarize, and I can take a screenshot and send this to you all since I redacted everyone's names. But we'll just want to send this formally to the clerk's office on what SAP is recommending for appointments Okay.

1:02:49 – 1:03:22Speaker 1

The council. I can I can actually go ahead and do that? I think she needs it by tomorrow. So, Erica, I can screen capture this. Alright. Well, if there's nothing else with that, then it is 07:36, and our meeting is officially adjourned.
