Hey, guys. Today is 02/23/2026, and I am calling the Erie Historic Preservation Advisory Board meeting to order.
You need that gobble.
Yeah. I've got one. Oh, look at that ugly face.
But you got a new name. Bye.
Okay. Pledge of allegiance, please. I
pledge allegiance to the flag of The United States Of America and this to the republic for which it stands, one nation
under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. I mean,
you know, it feels good. Yeah.
K. Madam secretary?
Mike Turner. Here. Leandrea Art. Here. Bonnie Fuller's here. Rachel Folger. Here. Laura Thomas. Spencer. Cesar Jimenez. Here. Alex Wicks.
Here.
And I also see Harry Brennan and council member O'Connor. And I don't see a deal. Okay.
K. But we have a two we got a full board tonight.
We have everybody here. Look at that. The. Oh,
alright. I sent out the meeting packet late, but did everybody get to read the agenda?
Yes. I have one, slight edit to the agenda. Yeah. Did you catch one too? Yeah. I just caught the next meeting needs to be updated. It said 02/23/2025. Our next meeting is actually 03/23/2026. Correct.
That's my fault.
Correct.
Yeah. I'm I'm just
Correct on here. Twenty third.
Yes. Oh, it's correct on
Correct on this one?
It is. Yeah.
Well Well, it's not on mine. Somebody corrected it.
Oh, and it also got corrected the the four minutes for November. So yeah. It's shame. But the two things I'm I bet Michelle
Yeah. Michelle cut it. So we can re read it as approved. I need a motion.
Move to approve the agenda as written. Second.
Rachel has motion that we approve the minutes as written, seconded by Laura. All in favor? Aye. That passes unanimously. The minutes?
Everybody get a chance to read them? I move to approve. The minutes as written? The minutes as written. Second.
Second. I'll second. Deandrea has moved that we accept the minutes as written, seconded by Caesar. All in favor? I, unanimous. And I don't see any public people, so we'll move on. Budget report?
Budget report, we still have the full $20,000.
Mhmm.
So no yeah. Nothing to report on that. And some of it oh, well, I get I'll wait till we get to the grant item. But Yeah. So yeah. Full nothing against the budget yet. So full 2020.
Okay. Thank you.
Can I just ask a question? Just because I wasn't there last month. Where did we land in terms of do we have did we get the tent?
Yes. Okay.
Yes. Oh, sorry. Yeah. Forgot you were so we got the tint. We got tablecloth. We got the hats. Yes. I think that was it. So some of the, like, brain stem things. I know Gabby said she had some extra she wanted to give us.
Okay.
Railroad ties. Haven't ordered those, so we can still order those if we wanted to. Okay.
And then
Can you be printing a quick one? Yeah.
We're putting it out of there.
And I was trying to see if I could bring it up. I I I don't know if this should go in this discussion or if this should go somewhere else, but there we also have, like, those we were talking about having, like, little something for kids if we were gonna do, like, crayons and railroad hats or something like that. And I don't know if you were able to show the print item on I haven't.
I did not show it last month.
Oh, and I didn't get it to include it on the packet. So
You're totally fine. I can I can jump on there real quick if that's okay? I mean, it's basically all within this budget report if we're approving to to print this at some point or whatever. Forget how to right?
Yeah. Zoom.
Didn't we already print that? Yeah.
Yes. I think we did. Where Yeah.
Imagery, we didn't really have, like
Oh, good. Mhmm. Mhmm. Like, what
But the idea was there in the but and I just didn't know if people wanted to see it before we we went down the
The tent and hats were on last year's budget?
Yes. Yes. Okay. Yeah.
That's why we still have the full amount because we haven't already. Yep. It's alright. I get confused sometimes with calendar year and fiscal year.
Yeah. Yeah. Our our council member advised that we use it or lose it.
Yeah. I never said that.
No. You did not. I did not tie that.
That's what
I recommended.
Suggest it.
And too honest.
I will say no more on the record.
K. Did you find it?
Okay. Thanks.
Yes.
My name is. You can
always come back too.
Got a new knee three weeks ago. So oh.
You look great, Mike. Forget the new knee just weeks ago. He's faster than we used to.
An email to you as well. I mean, I wish I could just give you this. Okay. Didn't know what's that. That's it.
What's it? It's giving me, like, stock shares
of some
instead of where's my
So get down there.
Sorry. Well, that was dumb. Okay. Hpep824. 30483.
It's.
I brought treats. Oh.
But I don't I don't know if I have to that's not like.
Always.
Mary Poppins.
Yeah. It's wearing toppings. Also, if you need one.
Okay. So this I found this, like, template, but then I updated it. Where so, basically, that would be on the front is the Tanabiri emblem. And that little strip is actually what goes around their head, and then there's, like, a bill, and you can then get on the strip with you need two strips. Well, depending on the kid's head size, I suppose.
You you would put both things together, and then there's instructions, of course, on how to do it. But, you know, we would just maybe send them with crayons and these two pieces of paper. They sent it slime.
I can color their own hat.
Yes. So I love it. They color it. It's something I don't know. It's just like I think we're we're always just trying to find ways to get people to stop, and I'm with so many families around it, I think doing something with kids is typically gonna be your easiest bet for grandkids.
And when we had trans there, if, like, we're talking to the adults, then they could just color around
their child. Wanted to. Mhmm. And we
And they could take them with them. Yeah. I like that idea a lot.
So, yeah, that would be the general idea. And just that first page, of course, would have to be colored. The second page is all just so
So what would be colored? The
The town of Erie. Oh, the envelope. Color printed.
The logos. Gotcha.
That page would all be
And they can use your their imaginations for those. And everything else.
Like it.
And then, of course, there's just instructions down there of how to actually do it, but hope it's relatively self explanatory. So okay. Well, I think we just have to decide budget wise, you know, where since we didn't use all of it last at the end of last year. We got the big things. Thank goodness. So that that came through just what she would need to allocate. I'll be honest.
And one of my what do I do with the old camp?
The old one? Oh, the camp?
Mhmm.
Just store it. I mean,
it's not in yeah. Communications has a I've been using Gabby's room down there. Let me go Not where her office is, but, yeah, she's got
logos on it. Right? Or other
It has OTE and then APEM. So
I mean, if you're gonna do a kids activity, let's set it up and do the kids activity under that. That's a good idea.
Like, two two tents. Yes.
If you wanted, you know, tables and chairs because that, they might wanna sit down and color. And if you're asking them to glue it, you actually may want instead of gluing, you know, those tape guns that have the thin double sided tape
Oh, yeah.
Maybe use that instead so the kids aren't sitting there trying to glue a bill onto a half. Or
staples. Yeah.
Staples? Yeah. It's never mind.
I'll stop tight and then just staple it.
Staple it to their hair.
I wasn't gonna say that,
but apparently.
Yeah. So I I don't know what those extra supplies would cost because I was kinda just doing the crayons and and Paper. Paper. Or
Can it be
see.
Can it be printed in house?
In what way? And I don't
Yeah. I don't think there's a hard number that we would need to stay under, I think.
For that?
Yeah. You could print that in house. Could probably yeah.
Or Probably do, like, a 100, and that would be more than enough, I think.
I don't think we you know, whenever Treeboard did newsletters or things like that, we could you know, the request could be 500, and it really wasn't a big deal.
Yeah. I think it'd be fine. Yeah.
Mhmm.
Just yeah. As long as you're fine with the
just regular paper and
Parts again. Laminated. I
just think it would need to be cold stock.
We I'd have to check our supplies to see. I mean, I'm sure we have some cards.
I think we I mean,
if I could look at stuff, does not that that could be included in that. We need to buy a ream of cardstock.
I mean, I'm happy just tomorrow when I I go to the library on Tuesday, so I can just, like, print it off and test run this and see what we get. How it works. Because I I have a feeling it's like a kid's house. Kid to
to do a test run. She's
she needs one. So, yeah, I think with that, I'm just trying to see what the I mean, I can go budget it. What I had budgeted.
We have the budget for it.
We do. We definitely have the budget. For a ring of cards
to talk.
Things that were remaining in terms of crayon sign holders. Oh. We're at approximate, I believe. Okay. The boots reprinting was closer to, like, the rehydrate. Just saying, like, if they were to reprint all of those things at large size. Crayons are probably closer to, like, 200. Yeah. Those fives were, like, barely, I don't know, seven. All that, like, when I am off the top of my head.
That's five thirty. Gridlock minimums were,
like, 30. The frames were, like, a 150. Table top stands were, like, twenty and fifty for sign holders. So that was the other remaining. So, like, maybe a little under Oh, easy. That? Okay. That doesn't have tax. So just putting that out there for next when's our next event? April?
April. That we would probably Every day. If if we're trying to to do all of that stuff, depending on what those frames are, not knowing we have those grid things too. Think that we wanna make sure that they're compatible size wise. I don't know how much size they were. Is it Gabby you said who's
got some
extras? But I can follow-up, you know, if we if we wanna approve, you know, somewhere around 800 to 1,000 for the remaining stuff.
Or if we Did we already approve some of this?
Well, last year, I think, under the old budget, so I probably wouldn't have to
Should we
really sort of offer, like, something in this budget.
Authorize up to whatever, but I need a motion. What
she named off is comes to $7.80. Not that I'm the best one. Might wanna And
without tax.
It won't be tax.
You wouldn't be you wouldn't pay tax.
No. Yeah.
Oh, that's right.
Or someone's tax, it seems.
Go ahead. Caesar
said my
math is good. Okay. So approximately $800. All those prices are about the same as they were in December.
Authorize up to a thousand?
Get it done, or if we feel like we need to put that money elsewhere, there are things that can be I think it's negotiated away for this.
I still think it's worthwhile to get it. Yeah. And I love this idea for the kids. I think the crayons and Yes. If we have extra booth space that we can put up the second tent and have a little spot for kids to hang out, I think we'll end up having people congregate and get the boards. And
It'll just look nicer. It'll look cohesive. We get all the stuff that, like, we need for our particular thing as opposed I hate to say it, but just, like, hand me downs. But, otherwise so Mhmm.
Okay.
Well, Mary and I are going to
You made a motion? So we need a motion.
Yeah. We need a motion.
Figured out.
I moved to allocate a thousand dollars for booth upgrades. I second.
A it has been motion by Deandrea that we authorize up to a thousand dollars for booth upgrades and materials for kids. It's been seconded by Melanie. Any discussion? All in favor?
Aye.
Aye. Passed unanimously.
We'll touch base and make sure we got all the the right things.
Planning. Clara.
Thank you. Thanks for thanks for
Nothing new in the planning report.
Yeah. So the 01:30 thing, is that done yet, or is that still in planning?
That's still in planning. We we'll probably have at least one or two more reviews of it. So it's Okay. Moving on. But Yeah. But it's
on the pre app point right now. Right?
No. We have our first application or first version of the application in.
Okay. Yep.
Like, you skipped over historic district. Is that on purpose?
Well back to that? It's kinda Laura was kinda the same thing. We're we're we're still in the informational distribution portion of it right now. And so when I don't think it'd be a good idea to do a major push till after the town fair. So we with this, we get most more people there. We can get the word out because, you know, the kids are going to color and everything, and then we'll get to instead of a passing conversation, have talk to them more.
So I guess, I don't know if, again, what was discussed in January. Are we still trying to, like, do survey stuff? Like, what are what are what are we doing? Yes.
Now we're yeah.
That's in a down the line.
Yeah. Because with the help of planning, it may have been gone too fast. Right. So we backed off a little bit. Okay? Because we still haven't talked to a lot of people from Main Street and High Street, and those are the older residents. And but I mean longer here. And many of them do not like being told what to do. So that's Sorry. I didn't mean to interrupt. What? I was
just gonna say, I I also was wondering if it might be a good idea to invite Lindsey or someone from the state to Yeah. Come and sort of give us a talk about what a
I don't know. Historic district looks like.
Yeah. Yeah. Or give us any, like, got guidance or pointers to how we accomplish it or, like, the next steps. Mhmm. Lindsay was great. Definitely not an expert at it. And And none of us are.
Yeah. Super
helpful in giving guidance.
That would be brilliant.
Lindsey was great that last time that she came early on before Yeah.
I don't
know if she would then downstairs.
I've been
thinking if Lindsey would come or if Damien would come. He's been kind of more the person that I've been talking to in relation to all this. Mhmm. And he he has said, you know, like, what can be helpful and I don't know if this is something that if we were going to have someone like that come chat, that we would open it up or try to make it something that that
Open to the pillow.
Yeah. Because I think that would be a better service of their time is to speak to the people who would actually make the decision. We're still in the spot where none of you know, we're not really in the driver's seat. So I think that would maybe be helpful if it was more of a
public opportunity. Maybe there's two. It might be nice for them to come talk to us first to make sure we're on the same page and then do a public thing Awesome. Just so they're not speaking out of turn with what we kind of have already discovered or worked with the town. Don't know. I I just don't wanna have, like, a public, like, well, actually you know? Right. Might be good to do two steps.
Right. Yeah. No. Definitely. And I I don't think it could hurt on on either front and yeah. What
were you gonna say?
Yeah. Just around strategy because I thought that or what we were intending to do is more targeted outreach for the old town residents rather than large scale events where I think the last time with your survey, we didn't have a lot of folks that lived in this specific area. A lot of info was great, but, you know, we're focusing on one specific area. So, like, to your point, I'm not sure if waiting to that event is, like, the right strategy or we focus more on the initial outreach that we had discussed with the town rep that was here who was doing the similar work. Yeah.
Josh. Yeah. Mhmm. Yeah. And I was actually thinking I might if if you guys will have him, I was gonna invite him back to the Mhmm. Share what he learned from that work because Mhmm. I don't think we've heard from him. Mm-mm. Well, you all haven't I I see him all the time.
Appreciate it. Yeah. Know.
You all haven't heard from him since he came in fall. Yeah. So yeah.
Because I I think what happened, like, with like, to to to Caesar's point, and once we get, you know, a lot of residents from all over Erie. A lot of the locals here don't necessarily come to our or come to our booth specifically. So I think a more targeted effort is necessary than a open wish that those people come to us. I think we have to go to them personally, just looking at what it is what what it is. And and it is more, you know, kind of on us to reach out to them
than
come find out what we're gonna do in our neighborhood. Like, we should come to them and see, like, hey. What's up? This is a possibility.
Yeah. Along that that way, I think you guys are right. Wish maybe we should on social media put you know, you may have heard and this is what the deal and this is what it really is. And then, you know, a lot of people go on social media and read it, and then they'll have the opportunity to come see us and talk to us. And then we can open it up to community meetings and stuff like that.
I still hesitate if social media being the place to make that announcement with the with the demographic we're dealing with. Because if we're if we're targeting a a longer standing residence and sometimes older residents, social media ain't the place they're they're looking to find out about this. And if I saw it just on social media before it came to me personally, I'd be like, cool. I'm glad that they are ready to put it out, you know, to the masses, but they didn't come in.
Think like a letter directly to their house. Yeah.
I it needs more of a personal touch because I think social media has just become too much of a spray and
Yeah. Like Just first.
Social media, a a letter would do the same thing.
Well, in the letter also, I I would hope it's more personal and I get nervous sometimes social media, but you can turn off comments. You can do that. But just what the discussion turns into without any of our ability to Control the dialogue. Initially, the
Although, I I was mentioning to Harry the other day that with the way the post offices and PO boxes, like, do we even have addresses for people that live in Old Town?
Yeah.
We do.
I I actually got pretty I guess, I'm also sort of skipping ahead of here, but the I sent out we we had been working on for the grant application. We were trying to get some leaders of support. And so a couple times ago, we talked about just starting by sending out the letter and seeing if anybody was willing to just sign it and mail it back. And I got four back out of the, like, 23
K.
That we
sent, which is that's what I was expecting. So $1,160.
Something like that. I mean, that's that's better than you're betting, probably. Yeah. Know,
you send out a 100 mat mass mailing, and you're lucky to get four back. Yeah. Right? Yeah. Point 04%. That's a lot of money spent for
But, yeah, in any case, we we do we should have a good mailing address for every property owner in that town from the county assessor records. Okay. Yeah. Mhmm.
And could could a page be added to the HPAB website on the town's website?
Looks like it would be. Yeah. Like, to have
Just put it, you know, as there's as another item.
Just Yeah. I've got a spreadsheet that I made a couple years ago that has all the addresses with the PO boxes. But there are but what I what I did was the property owners.
Well, that's the thing.
And some of them are not in are in Erie.
Yes.
That is true. That that's an extension Which
is why it needs to come from the county assessors
Yeah.
And the property owner versus the the resident.
Mhmm. Yeah. Because the houses, the PO box to the house number doesn't change. Right. But the name of a person could change.
So but
mine's a couple year years old, but I put that spreadsheet together when I did my mass mailing.
Because I'm wondering, is it something then you know, I feel like that's a place where we could direct them towards, you know, the the survey just to start to get their feedback. It would be nice if we had something on the books of, hey. We're gonna have this meeting with
Street
Colorado set up, and we would love for you to tend to bring your questions, but you also can send your questions here. You know, just, like, be comprehensive of all the ways that they can gather information. And then, of course, inviting them to always stop by or booth at any public event, blah blah blah. Yeah. I would just want that letter to be, like, as comprehensive as possible of all the different ways they can engage or what next steps.
Yeah.
Town fair being in town fair being in May, that gives us a couple months to get it out.
Yeah. Well, I mean, I could put on my list to to just kinda draft an initial letter. Okay. And we can review that next go around. And then, yeah, I think in conjunction having the website that has the other information we've talked about here.
Yeah.
And then, you know, we'd love to hear from Josh if there's anything that he thinks should be included there, if there there are ways we need to partner to Mhmm. Kill two birds with one stone type thing, if there's other things that need to be collected or I don't know. But I would just want it to be as as helpful to to all parties involved and try to get as most as much accomplished the first wave as opposed to trying to breadcrumb this. Mhmm.
So if you wanna draft that, I'd I'd appreciate it.
Yep.
Okay. Alright.
If you do add it to the website, should there be a button like submit comments?
Yeah.
Yeah. Something like that. Just no.
I don't think so. I think that's just opening it up to spam and craziness, but we could and just see what happens.
You just
Yeah. We'll just shut it down if it gets out of control.
Mhmm. It's
up to you guys. Just thought, you know
Well, that
I don't
know if that's been successful in the past. I just know, like, comments on website are typically just spam bot.
Well, I mean Javier might he might have thoughts on that too, but we also I think I think we often put a staff contact for other types of projects we could put in mind.
Or or email or just do a historic district at at Mhmm. Gary Co. Dot g o v, and then you can monitor it. Yeah.
Mhmm.
Or something like someone.
Yeah. That'd be a
good idea.
That way. But I totally get your point about comments. I have something that are on my website, and I took that feedback. I meant by being able to submit them.
Yes. You know?
Yes. And no way where to submit them.
Yes. Does the survey at some
point have a place to do that In addition to
This is from when I fell down the stairs.
It's rough over here. That's it.
I thought
it was a lot. Have
one. Oh, know I you still have one.
That's good.
But, yeah, if if we did this right there I I I know
I can't see it.
You mean me to apologize.
Yeah. I can't do it. Yes, mom. I I had my surgery I had my surgery on Monday, and on Thursday, I fell down the stairs.
Jeez. Yeah. If
you wanna add No. The time stamps. Yes. Just to try to sell the idea a little bit. I know.
Thank you. Resident
friendly version of the data. Scratched it.
Please do. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. The the tax credits get wonky.
They get a little weird. Yeah.
I'm like, I get it, but why are they saying now?
Right. Right. Yep.
So Okay.
Are we ready to move on?
Yeah. I I think we will have more to iron out the next go around.
Okay. Thank you, Harry, for being on top of it. I came over about 01:00 and signed the paperwork.
Thank you. I was I was not even in the office.
No. He was working from home.
And he says, Mike, you forgot to sign. I went, oh. So now you ran over here, and they had it. Laurie Bustamani had it, and I just signed it. And so, yeah, the the grant was submitted Friday afternoon and had to be there before five, and Lindsay did acknowledge receipt. So it it's there. Now we wait for April 6 is when the results come out. We've got a lot of support letters this time. We let them review it. So this is our best shot. So
So just to clarify, this is for the phase three
The 25 properties. Yes.
Five properties. And
so we yeah. We met with Lindsay back in January or no. I guess I think maybe that was in December even. And then, yeah, submitted that draft grant application that they reviewed and gave us, actually, actually, not a lot of comments on, but some helpful comments. And then, yeah, we we last summer, we didn't have any letters. Well, I we had some internal letters before, like, from I think we had one from Malcolm and from the mayor. But we didn't have any from the property owners last time, and now we have four. So I think Mhmm. Oh, yeah. Hopefully, we have a a good chance at this time.
So So we have a a lot more ammunition behind us.
Four six? Four six.
What's the match if you get the
So the
This is a CLG. It's 10%, isn't it?
It's so this one is actually no match, but you can only request a maximum of 25,000. So to make up the gap between that 25,000 and what the project was proposed at from ERO. Was 40, wasn't it? 10/10828 is what we would be putting up. So then the total would be the total project was 35,828.
Which is why we have 20,000 in our
budget
instead of 10.
Because we because now we Thank you, counsel. Yeah.
Is it do you have only 19 now because of?
Yes. Yes. Yeah. Did you say it's done? Yeah. 8.
True. A 100 and
I was rounding.
So it's but, yeah, that's why we that and if we do if the property has come back, going to get people to wanna landmark them after the project get done, I don't anticipate the whole project to be done until we get into into 2027. Mhmm. And then at that point, we'll have to decide if we wanna go with the nonsand finish plaques. Now the sand finished plaques are a thousand bucks apiece.
Oh. I I found I meant to bring I found a company that does them.
No. That might be a better
Local?
Oh, well, no. No.
No. They advertise in that in that historic preservation magazine. I mean, they're like, you know pencil option.
Yeah. That's a yeah. That's the guy that we use. He's from Pennsylvania.
What? I'm just it's that way.
You know?
Things are real. Yeah. Yeah.
I'll I
will get that.
Okay. But it's maybe another vendor to, you know,
just to compare prices to since it's not a it's
a very niche market.
Yeah. Yeah. K.
Okay. And tax credits, Alex?
Oh, yeah. Like, steal. Yeah.
I put I kinda disseminated my document with all the numbers and such and do a way that residents can probably read
it Yeah. Pamphlet.
So we were just talking about it. I'll contribute that. Mhmm. And that can go in to that outreach for the survey just so we can sell historic district a little bit better with those tax credits.
Yeah. Put it all together one package. Yeah. Exactly. Yeah. Yep. Good eye good idea. The railroad history grant, I'm finding new stuff all the time. Now we have to decide I don't know. We're probably I don't know if on the if on the grant, we need to mention waypoint markers, or does that come does that come later?
I don't know. Yeah. So it is you know, because it's been recommended to me by people as you know, I'm friends with Bob Rummer, and he's and he does rail bike. And he's putting waypoint markers up. So if he's doing it for that, then we just follow suit.
Is are is that his signs over by the old depot? Yeah. Those are great if you
do those. Yep. So yeah. So it's a we whatever we do, we're gonna have to standardize it. So okay? So that's yeah. And I'm thinking that they're gonna push this back, the competitive grants. They've already heard that they're pushing it back till maybe October.
I could see that. Because this the deadline this deadline that we just hit was Yeah. Like, a month month later
than because normally, it's January 15, and it was February 20. So I'm thinking it's gonna get pushed back again. But this time as well, if they wanna do a, you know, a pre app. You know, let them do that because we got denied last time. It it incents me. It was so stupid. It was like, you didn't identify enough buildings. Why do you think we're doing this?
To identify buildings.
Yeah. You know? It's
just Maybe they wanted addresses or something.
Well, we don't know. This just did.
Like, when you say it may get pushed later, is that later than May?
Yeah. But I'm I'm we're thinking Harry and I are thinking September, October because competitive grants used to go May and October. But now with the federal funding being not as much, That's why this got pushed out, and that's why the CLG got capped at 25,000. It used to be 250,000. Yeah.
And but now they capped it at 25. So that's so we have to just go along with this administration and what kind of historic money is getting granted. So but, yeah, it's all this administration is why they only allocated 25,000 for the CLG grant. Okay. Eagle Mine.
You know, Eagle Mine, I had on the previous thing for survey, and they didn't like it for the the I got one for phase three surveys. I had Eagle Mine on it. And they said, well, that's not an old town. Mhmm. It's like you know? But it went through planning, and it it went through parks and rec. Yeah. Right? And so Luke Luke and I talked about it. He submitted it, and it's been approved for ten thousand. Right? Now he's setting out I don't know if he sent out the RFP yet and don't know.
I think I think he has a vendor set up already or a consultant to do it already. Yeah.
So And
what that money go towards?
Well, that comes out of that comes out of parks and rec budget. Doesn't come out of our budget.
That do. For a
survey for
Just for the survey.
For the Yeah. For the survey.
And With with the hope that, yeah, once we get a survey done and we figure out what all of the sort of horizontal features are there, it'll help us narrow down because the town owns it.
So Right.
We can narrow down what what exactly we're trying to landmark.
And it's in a location about that area. Proposed to be part of a park, which is why it's in parks. Mhmm.
And then the gateway project is the gateway project is the project that went from initially, it went from I 25 to Highway 7. Now it's half yeah. No. I mean, County Road 7. It was initially now it's half of that.
They can't build on I can't build anything on the the the mine site anyway because of the even if they mitigate it, they can't you can't build on it. You can put a parking lot, but you can't build on it. So but there was a talk Luke and I had talked about maybe a walking tour of the of ego mind. And I think it might draw more than just eerie because this is the only existing mine that I know of for in the entire county. And I'm talking about Weld County, Boulder County.
I mean, the whole area might the only existing because everything else been paved over. If not paved over there, well, the Boulder Mine is not paved paved over, but it's been closed off. And if you go look at this little marker, which about that big, go try to find it. That's about that big. Just
a nugget of coal. What? Just a nugget of coal.
Yeah. So when they when they capped it, they they put a little marker there, and that marker is about that big. I found it, but
Of course, you did.
Okay. So that grant was awarded in on January 12, and that'll be running through Parks and Rec. But when it comes when the survey is done, then we go to landmarking, and that's when it comes to us. Yep. Okay.
Are we still wanting to, like, walk the property with the former employees and people that actually know where stuff is?
Yeah. We can.
Is that before the survey, after the survey?
It doesn't
matter. Can be during.
It doesn't matter. Because most of the research on this outside of pictures, as I told for you who have not done surveys before, what we pay for is hours of research labor. That's that's what you pay for.
Right. But, I mean, that would save them hours of research labor.
Yeah.
You have the literal people that work there saying, here's what it was. Yeah. Done. Okay. We saved
our You have a good point. I
have pictures of Eagle Mine, but I don't have the individual buildings.
Well, right. And I don't think any
of our photos we have are from the seventies. Right? They're all older than that. Yeah. I'm sure things changed often.
Yeah. It was So in '38, closed in '78, and then and the pictures that we have are from the forties and the fifties.
Is that something we can talk to Luke about? Yeah. To coordinate, possibly, with
I can talk to Luke. Those people that are surveying?
Yeah. I can talk to Luke.
People you know? Mhmm. K.
I can send them an email too. And
Yeah. Yeah.
I mean,
I figured this weather is so nice. Right? Like Mhmm.
Yeah. Let's get them out there.
Yeah. Yeah. Though some of the people that worked on are now in their eighties. So
Yeah. How much how far will that $10,000 grant go in covering the survey?
It That more than cover just the Eagle Mine survey. Okay.
Yeah. That's just a survey. Has nothing to do with anything else. Mhmm. K. And I and I expect, since Erie owns it, anything on the site that needs to get done will probably be sweat equity. So
Minus the flux.
Yeah. Minus the flux. So Finish. Yeah. Okay. Is is there any other business?
Do we know how many applications are in?
I do not know that yet. I have not checked in with Michelle. That is a good reminder, though. So on the agenda for next month, we'll wanna leave in some time to review the application. So I'll check-in with I
don't know.
I think the deadline Like, I just this Friday. And So I'm gosh. Should say was the twentieth. The twentieth. Okay.
The other boards are
The planning commission, even for all all apps, planning always gets priority. They get first choice. But for us, ever you all know that Melanie will not be continuing with us. So so all the options can
It's about the booth.
Thank you.
It is booth.
Yeah. I will come stop hiding Booth. Yes.
And and every April, we have to vote on officers every year. And so that's the chairman, vice chairman, and secretary.
So your last meeting will be next month. Is that right?
I'm not here in April.
I thought I was Probably April will be the last one.
Oh, that was through April.
Keep telling her it's the next month.
We have we have accounts that's permission. Yeah.
Because it record. Because it doesn't the applicant doesn't become official until they're appointed by the council. Right.
And it's just in April.
Right? Yeah. Well, it'd be in May probably. But they approve them in April. April, and then they go to the council, and it's a consent agenda thing. Right. But it still has to go through the procedure.
So when are we when are we supposed to present to the board? Like Oh,
I have no idea. They haven't let us know.
Oh, yeah. They have. And do you have advanced agenda?
I it's pretty late. It's, July maybe or August.
Or Well, there's always two.
I know there's
Yeah. Because there's one in in the winter and then one in the fall. So we're already through February. Last year, it was in March. July 28.
So yeah. I Alrighty. It's early,
I guess, this is right. Because
Yeah. They may forego this one and just go on to the
July 20
It's July 28?
It's on advanced agenda. Oh, I
got plenty of time. Yep. Oh, by the way, hopefully, everything will work out, but I will be selling my house. And, hopefully, I get to find a place in Erie. Okay?
Keeps open. What? I said keep your ears open.
Yeah. Because keep your ears open. I can't do this if I'm not in Aerie. Yeah.
Yeah. So

quick sale for you, Mike, but I
also don't. So Yeah. Yeah.

Wait. I didn't see that need agreement. Yeah.
We are

So from from six of us that are from six of us that are in the house, there will be three of us left. So we don't need a house that big. Yeah. And So we think it'll go quick. But
It's a good location.
Yeah.
That's a great location. Yeah.
A lot of neighbors went in three days, so in one weekend.

Oh, yeah. Still wondering.
If there's if there's nothing else, then I call this meeting adjourned.
I have one quick oh, sorry.
Oh. Yeah.
I haven't voted to adjourn.
Okay.
When did we have a I was just curious if there was a date or timeline because on the on the bell. I just keep putting Yes.
Bell. Did
we ever hear anything?
We tossed the bell, though,
last last meeting.
Ringing the bell?
So they rang it to try it out. Oh, okay. And they opened it up.
Mhmm. And it works.
It works. Everything's beautiful.
Love to have but we don't know when the door works.
But we don't know when the unveiling is. No. No.
That's fine.

reporting of these guys.
But you did it. You did
a good job. Thank you. So you were gonna find out about the Bell Tower Bell and move back to us?
Yes.
Okay. I just keep my eyes peeled and hope every time I come by here, they'll
be I
think they should do a special ringing of the bell, like, at the town fair.
I'm so, like There's gonna be something.
Something to celebrate.
Tooth and that burns those up. Should be July 4 to
I know. Anniversary in The United States. That's the new February 15. Oh, right. Yeah.

it for the Jerry's birthday every year. And one ring one ring for every year.
