Advisory Board to Manage Wildlife - Regular Meeting

CALL TO ORDER, PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE AND ROLL CALL OF BOARD MEMBERS

APPROVAL OF AGENDA

The Board will review the agenda and may take action to approve the agenda. The Board may remove items from the agenda, continue items for consideration or take items out of order.

MEMBER ITEMS/ANNOUNCEMENTS AND CORRESPONDENCE

Board members may present emergent items. No action may be taken by the Board. Any items requiring Board action may be scheduled on a future Board agenda. The Board will review and may discuss correspondence sent or received by the Board since the last regular meeting and may provide copies for the exhibit file (Board members will provide hard copies of their correspondence for the written record).

COMMENTS BY THE GENERAL PUBLIC

Pursuant to NRS 241 this time is devoted to comments by the general public, if any, and discussion of those comments. No action may be taken upon a matter raised under this item on the agenda until the matter itself has been specifically included on a successive agenda and identified to be an action item.

Discussion and consideration to approve the minutes from the August 10, 2026 meeting.

Discussion and consideration of comments on State Agenda Item #19 regarding Mule Deer Management Plan Update.

The Commission will hear an outline for the Mule Deer Management Plan. The discussion will include proposed elements of a Mule Deer Management Plan such as objectives and goals, best management practices, habitat conditions, and harvest guidance.

Discussion and consideration of comments on State Agenda Item #8A regarding Commission Policy 65 – Designation of Wildlife Management Areas – Habitat Division.

The Commission will have a second reading of Commission Policy 65 and may take action to adopt the policy.

Discussion and consideration of comments on State Agenda Item #8B regarding Commission Policy 66 – Management and Use of Wildlife Management Areas and Conservation Lands.

The Commission will have a second reading of Commission Policy 66 and may take action to adopt the policy.

Discussion and consideration of comments on State Agenda Item #21A regarding Commission General Regulation 533 – Destruction of Property.

The Commission will hold a workshop to consider a regulation amending Chapter 503 of the Nevada Administrative Code (NAC) for the destruction of private property while engaged in wildlife activity, and amending NAC 501 to create demerits associated with this violation.

Discussion and consideration of comments on State Agenda Item #22A regarding Commission Regulation 25-16, Amendment #1, 2027 Fishing Seasons and Regulations for January 1, 2026, through December 31, 2027.

The Commission will consider and may take action to amend CR 25-16 to include season and limits for Flying M Pond in Lyon County.

NEVADA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE PROJECT UPDATES

Presentation from the Department of Wildlife, Eastern Region, with an update on the department's activities.

The next Commission meeting is scheduled for November 6 and 7 in Las Vegas. The Commission will review and discuss potential agenda items for that meeting. The Commission may change the date, time, and meeting location at this time. The Chairman may designate and adjust committee assignments and add or dissolve committees, as necessary at this time. Any anticipated committee meetings that may occur prior to the next Commission meeting may be discussed.

The Elko County Advisory Board to Manage Wildlife meeting is set for MONDAY, NOVEMBER 2, 2026.
