Good morning everybody. Good morning everybody. Good morning everybody.

0:56 – 2:480

This is the DCN smoke coming to you live. Excuse me this morning. Uh give me a few. Let me get situated here. come back briefly and route to the uh Rock and Mount city council meeting on this morning. They have a tough decision to make this morning, which is not too tough because it's a do or die situation. So, um I guess you can call it a test situation, but they going to have to um uh respond to the LGC request of how they need to move forward. This is the DCN smoke coming to you live this morning uh in route to the Rocky Mount city government meeting. Um, they will have to make a tough decision this morning. And like the FDC said last week that uh it's going to hurt everybody uh to a certain degree. So um get ready. Get ready cuz a decision will be made on today of how they need to move forward.

2:50 – 4:480

Let me see. I am in route to the Rocky Mount city government meeting. Uh let me see. See? Okay. Good morning everybody again. This is the DCN smoke in route to the Rocket Mount city council city government meeting this morning. Uh today they will meet with the uh with the city manager and staff for them to present uh cost savings in order to get cash flow coming in to the city. Yes, they will have to do a presentation to the council about how to uh uh attempt to save cash flow so they will not give out of money in the next couple of months leading up to the end of this 2026. Now, um the city manager Elton Daniels and staff has a big big uh uh uh job to do. They inherited this from the previous uh uh uh city manager uh did not uh accountable for his actions. So now therefore the city is in the shape that it's in. And where were you all the uh are the ones that keeping all the noise now?

4:45 – 6:450

Where were you when you ought to have been proactive keeping noise when the former city manager Keith Rogers was not responding to Andre Knight and Ruben Blackwell Richard Jer? Where were you then? myself and some others as well. Now you coming in after the city is uh in its lowest point and now you want to speak up. The city got to make a tough decision in order to keep the city going. You don't want the LGC to have to come in and uh run the city. Um, but obviously you ain't been paying attention because last week LGC uh um uh did a presentation told you what needs to be done, where they need to go, what role they will play, and you still listen to the noise out there. You're going to have to going to have to be some increases. Now, I've seen and heard about folk doing lies about uh this 15% increase when it comes to electric. Well, do you want to increase or do you want to uh uh lose uh the cash flow and then LGC come in, they done told you they don't they don't have the capability of running the city. They're not qualified. They just come in and do what they got to do. And I know that as a fact when they came in and took over um um Princeville some years ago, I was there. But quickly, um I commend um um uh city manager Elton Daniels for coming in and having to go to work and come up with a solution to save the city, him and his staff.

6:42 – 8:400

And uh now's the time that you may as well uh uh support him on what he has put in place. I'm waiting to see it today. I know he had a scenario 1 2 3 4 last week at the retreat and one and two was not going to work. So they was going to talk about three and four on today. So I am excited waiting to see how this unfold and hope that this will help out uh the situation. but he inherited this and you ought to be happy that he's willing to stay around and try to uh pull the city out of this. But you need to uh talk about um uh you need question each council member to where they stood on this. Um and you will get a better feel on what what what is going on. You should have been calling your council members, find out where did they stand uh when this was uh leading up to this situation and where do they stand now. But to to to call now and to tell them not to do this, not to do that. Well, that ain't it. That's not the answer. They got to do what they got to do. So, I'm waiting to see what the uh uh presentation will be and um and and just hear the conversation cuz I know at least about two of them. One um was not on the council at the time and and want to be a savior, have no clue, uh uh uh uh just ignorant to the facts and just trying to learn the position. and uh uh at least one other one was a part of the problem and obviously um

8:37 – 10:190

trying to take the focus off himself. So, we'll see how it turn out. But today is the day. Um yes, I've been going to the me all these years. So, I am vested. I am concerned about how the city go forward. I have family, friends, and others that live in Rocky Mount. So, um I'm all in. Um also, um um I've been working at Rocky Mount for 39 years. Do all my shopping over here basically. Uh uh um um member of organizations over here. Um um looking for a place right now to put set up a office over here to do community. So um I'm all in. So uh I'm just going to see how many people show up at the meeting, especially those that have not been showing up over the time, but now coming in and got all the answers because they listen to uh uh uh uh snippets of what uh folk are saying. But you better be listening to uh uh the city manager and staff on how they need to move forward cuz they know uh uh and and the city council uh is is is got to be led by them. They don't do this dayto-day operation. So stay tuned. I will be going live uh uh at the council meeting at 10:00. So see you there.
