So, um, ASEL, uh, at the meeting on in January agreed to have a facility study be done and we needed an RFQ given the amount of the the cost of a facility study. So on January 21st, the RQ was published in the Oregon buys and um our website and there was also contract with five different firms. Um and we also got visited by six of them and we got nine firms uh turning in their proposals uh which are in the packet. It's all reviewed and staff also reviewed those packets um the RF the RFQS and we also did some interviews with the ones that we liked

what they were saying and then out of those we had a favorite which was Hackford Architects that nice um so we are come to you today to select a firm and recommend hacker architects and we'd like to hear what you have to say of the recommendation. Well, I agree with your assessment that hacker is in my opinion as well the best fit for data libraries as you pointed out and multi-use spaces. Um I I just think I think they're a good fit. I was happy with their packets. I perused all of the packets, but yes, it kind of feels strongly about that.

Yeah, I agree with that. I I think they were the warmest candidate and more connected with with the way they presented. They didn't just give you I mean, they almost all open with the exact same phrase. we feel honored and pleased to be considered for this upcoming opportunity and blah blah blah, but they have a good pedigree and they also seem like very real people and it would be pleasant to to deal with them and they were the third from the last. So we didn't pick the last, we picked the first and Yeah. Yeah. And they had a lot of experience with local towns in Oregon and they weren't from Texas, you know, which Texas was a little Yeah, that was a big bunch for me, too. Yeah.

Uh I I'm sorry everybody. I'm I've been playing catchup for this entire month on just the sickness running rampant through our household. Um, so it's still kind of working its way through. Um, I I really liked Hacker. I thought they were really good. Um, I I liked the the local projects that have been done. I just I really like the intentness behind it, too. It was a very u it was a very personal application. It kind of like what uh councelor Hoverver was saying, actually. Sorry. Uh, was it councelor Hover? Sorry. I'm a little um little light in the in the head right now just from um the last few weeks. But um gotcha, huh? Cold medicine's got you through.

Yeah, gold medicine's got me in a in a firm grip right now. Um but I just I I really the tone of it. Look, all all of these applications have have great I think pedigrees in a lot of different ways, have great projects that they've done, but but I think the spirit of this one really spoke to me. the intent behind it really spoke to me. Just I I I'm really I don't know. I I kept reading through it. I'm like this this just it's it's I don't know. I liked it a lot. So, kind of aligning with what everybody else is saying. I like Wilson was the other one that I liked and then the Sherwood one, but that some of them were too too fluffy, too. They just there. If I may, when I did my city hall library construction project, I got two two responses. We got nine. Yeah. Nine. That's awesome. And and one of those responses is a firm that I work with

before. They're in there. They were very strong. And I stand by the work they just throws. But what shown through was with with hacker there, not the firm that I work with is as in the staff that works and this wasn't a requirement, but it set them apart. Was there library their experience with public libraries? I feel pretty good about Hackard just because staff felt good about them and I seen them all over this county and other counties all the time and it's local people working locally and I kind of liked that because they they get bored, you know what I mean? I for me it was fun because I kind of perused them and I was leaning toward hacker and and one other but um and then I looked at the list and they're third and I thought third is perfect

you know you know totally keep the top but I don't know that was I was like whoa nailed them. So, all of these firms really wanted to work with us and when I called them to let them know what I'd be recommending, they were the ones who didn't get recommended were very disappointed. May I ask who were the ones that showed up to actually preview the facilities? That's RSI Wilson Hacker. I don't see the

So, the best window and I I'd probably have to take time off to make this one happen, but the best window would probably be the 6th through like the 15th sometime in there somewhere. Um, personally, so the 10th might work.
