Those all my Those are my old people that leave this week for spring break and they have nothing to do with school. It's like you don't have kids. Yeah. [laughter]
Oh yeah, with this weather it is. Couple days by the weekend. [snorts]
How you doing? We'll see it [snorts] look [cough] [clears throat] including I Call the meeting to order. Lindy, you'll have a roll call. Mayor Crane here. Council member Copenhaver here. Pulser here. Smith here. And Randles
here. Are there any additions or corrections to the minutes? Stand approved. [snorts] Hi Can I help you? We were just coming to talk about seeing if we could use the park one day, one Saturday in August. Okay. Um, we're from the Church of the Nazarene and we would like to do a craft festival. Okay. We've had it for the last couple years and we're out growing our church. We like to see about moving it to the park.
Okay. [cough and clears throat] What What's the date here? August the 15th. the second. Do you got any dates on that? I don't, but I'll look. I don't think that'd be a problem. That should be okay. Yeah, then they shouldn't have a ball tournament. I wouldn't think soccer to the the cabin where everyone's going to be at the soccer game. Oh, so you'll be over by the cabin. Depending on how many Okay. Depending on how many vendors that we can get.
The more the marrier. And what was the date on that again? August 15th. And you said for a craft festival for a fundraiser for operation. Oh, okay. Do you have a time? It will most likely be like 9 to 3. 9 to 3. Okay. Potential set up on that Friday night. [snorts] Um, the only problem with that I can think of would be people that camp in there. Um, I'm not I'm not opposed to moving it out to the front, you know, like where the carnival area is close to the bathroom.
Uhuh. We're not opposed to that at all. And it will depend on also Randy if depending on how many vendors, you know, we're hoping for. I would love to see a 100 vendors. You know, I I'd like for it to be big. You know, all the proceeds, the better proceeds, the applications and stuff, all goes to support the Operation Christmas Child. Okay.
I think that ought be okay. I I think it should be. I mean, if we if we can like move it around uh possibly, but flexible with that. There are people that come in during Saturday and they can't. Yeah. So, um, and that's, you know, normally on Saturdays. So, [snorts] we're flexible. Okay. With moving it around. Okay. Do Do you have a phone number? 217 3047073.
I guess I shouldn't ask you that in public. Yeah. [laughter] They come to me afterwards and it would have been fine. Thank you. Okay. Okay. Thanks. Thanks. I didn't have to ask your name. [laughter]
[clears throat] [cough]
Okay, tonight first thing I have is I think we should put a generator in at the new building since the electric department and the street department are going to be there. And we have a emergency or power outage, we've got to make sure that those guys have power so they can get out. Cost of its 12,900. That includes the transfer switches, the 22 KW standby generator, and all labor materials.
No char. [laughter] Okay. Having discussion? Move to approve. I second. Paul, yes. Chad, yes. Brad, yes. Randy, yes.
Motion passes. 40 to approve the generator. Next one is wastewater treatment plant. [clears throat] Got a quote from Tom Crapton. [clears throat] Um on the to remove remove and discard the existing inside window cabinet and countertops, all the ceiling grid and tiles, bathroom accessories, exhaust fan. Um prep the walls, fill in the window cavity, install new ceiling grid, washable tile in the lab and bathroom. install new cabinet shelving and countertops which we will buy. There'll be a cabinet laboratory grade. Greg has went over that with Tom and approves the it'll be phenolic resin countertops that are w will withstand any chemicals that's used in the processes. a new exhaust fan in the bathroom and vinyl base in the lab and bathroom. That includes painting with a waterborne base um waterborne epoxy that's washable on the walls. Uh painting the whole lab and electrical work doing all the electrical work for the lab. Um that amount for everything. Uh is 21650 and
including the cabinets. Yeah. Including including the cabinets. Then we we had a problem. Greg called and went down there and water was pouring in. Um I called Century Roofing. Had them go over. Um the it's the building's 50 years old and never had anything done to the roof and wow
the price on that was 14560. So that brings the total to 36,210. We just spent three millions on the the uh wastewater treatment upgrade and uh so this is this will finish the lab out renew it from 50 years ago. Greg, do you approve of everything that you've seen and the layout? Yeah, that two or three times you brought in the drawings and we change we made we made a few changes. I there were still open areas. Yeah. Like put some shelves. I mean, more shelves better. Yeah.
Now's the time to do them. My only question was that including the bathroom and like the new toilet. Yeah. Yeah. I didn't know how we ended up on that one. Yeah. Okay. That that includes probably everything. We got a new mini split in there for heating and air conditioning. So, Oh, how about that? Yeah. What are we going to do about the outside piping? We need to replace it in the wall or in the wall. Oh yeah, this time it needs needs to be replaced [clears throat] and that's not going to be that much. So yeah, that was a good design. Yeah. Yeah.
Anybody have any questions on that? I do want to say we did have a bid from what was the name for name of the four street construction company. Yeah. Um it was for residential more residential not laboratory grade.
Um Tom Tom put the ceilings in the city building. Uh he's worked more in commercial and industrial. works for McDow Construction currently. Used to work putting in laboratory grade cabinets up in Chicago, worked for Herman Miller, um furniture, school furniture, did a lot of schools. So, I did talk to Allan and he said he would put in another bid for the materials we're talking about now, but he's just small with projects now. And I told him that
come see you if he was going to do that. So, apparently he did not do I, you know, I don't have any problem with him, [clears throat] but Right. but I know Tom, you know, is capable of this and Allan probably is too. Well, you got somebody that's done this and you know this this type of quality. Yeah, I I get it. Yeah. Yeah. So, Greg, when when Danny took a look at your roof, did he talk to you afterward? What did he talk to you about the job afterwards?
We had some problems thinking about how how to do around the old vents up there and stuff like that. around the outside because he what he quoted was a roof over um and I was just questioning if the water was coming through that ba bad badly how if the insulation in the roof was wet if that's the case it should be torn off. It's a membrane. It's a rubber. So, it's not It's not broken. It's a membrane. They usually just put them over the top. Well, yeah, they do. As long as the insulation underneath of it dry.
I think there's no insulation in it.
Yeah. I mean, you see the steel underneath. Well, it should be between the the membrane and the and the decking. I can't answer that. I don't know what's in there or not. Okay. Okay. They there might not be. And he's going to put on Durafold 38 inch rigid recovery board over the surface, which you should do to create that barrier between Yeah,
it's a this is a standard roof over, but when I was there, we were using 40 mil membrane and now it's 50 mil. I know it holds up a lot better, so I've got no problem with that. They had just come out with it when I was there. That's what we have on this building, too. 50 mil. Yeah. Yeah. [cough] [clears throat]
Oh, it has been re-roofed. Uh, I remember I comment somebody and I think so. It seems like it was. It looked It looked old. Yeah, [laughter] we we've painted it with that coating. Oh, yeah. I'd be surprised that rubber roof holding up that long. [laughter] Yeah. Yeah.
Anybody have any other questions? No. Is that the best option is just to rough over it? Well, my my concern is whether there was wet insulation in there. And if there is, it should be torn off, but I don't know if there is any insulation in there to speak of. May just be may just be a vapor barrier. If there is, they need to tear it off, take it out. So, it's easy for him to check it. That's why I was asking [snorts] and that's why I [clears throat] was asking, is that the best option or does it need to just be removed and redone? One thing about it, um, the the extra cost for no more square footage, what we've got isn't going to be that much more.
Yeah. To do it, right? He'd be able to come back and look at it again, maybe. Oh, yeah. Yeah. And then just give us a Yeah. Give us an idea. I'd ask him if he if he ced and get the insulation. See what he says. Yeah. We We can call him tomorrow and see. Yeah. Because if it was coming through that badly, if there's insulation in there, I think it'd be wet. And if it is, it's not going to be that big of a deal to take it take. I mean, it's not cheap because you got to dispose all of that. Yeah. But yeah, I mean thousand square foot. So, how much have
Yeah. Would we have to present a different bid then, a different amount? Huh? But should we just move forward with it? I I'd move forward with it and just let them if it is if it's going to be major back. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. It needs it needs as soon as it gets nice so it doesn't continue to leave and they'll get busier too. So yeah, better to do it now. Yeah, I would move for approval. I'll second. Okay. Paul, yes. Chad, yes. Brad, yes. Randy, yes.
Motion passes 40 to proceed with the wastewater treatment plant. Then KC using equipment [laughter] using
the uh the skid steer. Um [cough] has a lot of hours on it and been used a lot. The right side drive went out of it. We can get a Kabota 75 horse and that one's I think 57 horse. um one with tracks that is going to be more suitable for them with high flow with the high flow so we can run our our milling machine and and stump grinder and um it's 89,186 the with municipal discount brings it down to 75,810 trading our machine in as is they're allowing on the 16,000. So it would be 59810 and something that's used quite a bit. Um what I would do if we uh with what we had left over in our construction account with wastewater if we we can pay for the cabinets. We had 190,000 left over. We can pay for the cabinets, all the work of the wastewater treatment, the roof, um, and pay for the skid steer and transfer a h 100,000 and still have enough to make our next payment on the on the bond in July. [clears throat and cough] We've got enough now without that. But but we're in pretty good shape to just pay it all out of wastewater with what was left in the construction.
So you you need that as a transfer as well. It'll be over border works. The transfers go through. Okay. All right. And so he's given us 16,000 for the equipment we have in trade in. Yes. What's it what's it worth if we sell it out? Right. It would have move. Okay. It would have it would have to be fixed. [laughter] You can't fix it. It won't even do that. So he's been very generous by giving us the trade in of 16,000. Exactly. Okay. Okay. [clears throat]
This would be a kabod, right? No, I'm just right across the street. They work on it and contact. You don't have to do that yet. Yeah,
you did say if you fix the right side, the left side too and it's already been changed previously has been rebuilt. So just back and forth. You said that was 2008 when 2018 18 18700 hours on it and left side left side drives been replaced. Right side's completely out. And what I was told by through Bobcat, he said [clears throat] the left side will go out again
at some point within a year. That's just [clears throat] what they see. It's always better to get a motion. I'll make a motion. Have a second. I'll second it. Okay. Randy, yes. Grant, yes. Chad, yes. Paul,
yes. Motion passes 40. Proceed with the Kabota 75 horse skid steer and trade our Bobcat in. [clears throat] That is all I had. Oh, I don't have anything tonight. I don't right. You have a chance to look at the property at Jefferson. Yeah.
Call his brother and I can't call his dad. What's the address and what corner of Jefferson and Jefferson got southwest corner. Yeah. So his brother was having removed last year so in March. So that's what we're Yeah. It's it's real bad. That's in winter time. Yeah. Not good.
Yeah. If anybody's been by the park and seen the tractor sitting out, I pulled it out Saturday morning doing some just maneuvering some stuff around it and it would start again and it was low on fuel. I don't know if it's I called Brandon Ricketts on Saturday afternoon. He said they come down and look at it or put it on the trailer and take it down. Apparently, it's still sitting there. So, he hadn't called me or anything. I didn't know if he called here or not. Uhuh. No. And I also uh got a hold of Newton Oil bring fuel down there. Diesel fuel. I was out of everything at the end of last year. So,
just kind of clean everything up. They fill it. I I don't know. He never me back. He said it would be Monday. [clears throat] Okay. Told me Monday, too. Okay. [laughter] I'm not having very good luck. [clears throat] And the people that were supposed to show up at the park and do a once over the the youth group that was that Wednesday wasn't very good weather. Oh, I think it was either raining or snowing. So, they I I don't blame them. I wouldn't get out there either. So they didn't show up, but they promised me they'd get there. So they only have a couple more weeks.
I mean, they can do it. They can do it now. So that's good. Do you think the fuel might have jailed? Well, no. First time we had it out. We used it for a short amount of time moving that gazebo from the shop over the pool deck. Yeah. But we want to use what was left by doing that. [laughter] [laughter] [cough] I [clears throat] was going to say, can we fire him?
Don't put that in the record. [laughter] My fingers are not moving. It is on recording though. [laughter] Just kidding. Yeah, that's all. I don't think your mic's on anyway. See, just thought we'll be flushing hydrants April 15th. Okay, all I have I got a few things for which we've already touched on a couple of times about the rope in the lab. Uh Mark Dulan when you called him Yes. about painting that well. What did he say? I mean it's just a just a scheduling thing, right? Yeah.
Down there because he was down there looking paint. He's he's ready to do it. I think it's just a weather thing and as long you know catch a day when he's you know [cough] it's about 50 55 and and has been for a while. That's what he said. needs to warm up and acclimate. It's inside and it needs to be Yeah. less humid and warm. Yeah. Um I called that other company about tower inspection. Yes. [clears throat] And we got it scheduled actually for April 30th. They're going to be here in view of that free. Okay. Uh and then we'll have two of them to go by.
Yeah. That's great. Um the our backflow prevent down at down at the wastewater plant we installed. It's going to be tested th this Thursday. Okay. So, who's testing it? Some fire in some B and something. Fire inspect. Yeah, because they they do a lot of they do all the Hillsboro. Okay. So, they do a lot. I didn't know they seem to be pretty much. Yeah. I tried to get a few other ones I had numbers for. Yeah. Couldn't get any. Yeah, they'll be good.
Um, okay. So, last July, I then did our sanitary survey on the whole water system and we had six deficiencies that So, I did a response [clears throat] letter to that and fix those. I'll go over those real quick in a minute. And then I got a we got a registered letter the other day from apparently that they're gonna this they've never done this before. They're coming back and rechecking because they can't. They need something to do, I guess. Check what? Rechecking on if we did what we were or we're doing what we're supposed to supposed to be doing on the six deficiencies. So, water or waste water?
Water. This is all water. Um, [cough and clears throat] one of them was the backflow pre, you know, and I already answered that. We did most of these backflow prevent. And they're going to want the test sheet on it, of course. water tower inspection because they thought it looked like it needed painted. So, we'll have two two quotes, two inspections done. So, I ought to do that. Uh, and a a couple little things that I went ahead and fixed and sent them pictures of, but they apparently had lost those pictures. [laughter] I swear we from all the years I've been here, we do most of [cough] what do Yeah. nuts.
Um, the main thing is the the backflow prevention program for town. We got to do we got to get something done on that. And I've got it narrowed down. I got to make a couple more calls, but I had to start with to meet their what they have listed as requirements. We would had over 30 places that would have had to, but I've got all like fountain machines. Any place with a pop fountain machines supposed to have good in backflow. But I got those out. So because they said they're already included in the pot machines. So yeah, I was going to say
see the deal is with this is it's all on the customer. They have to buy [clears throat] they have to buy and pay for the the device, the back flip prevention device which are 500, you know, I mean depending on what kind of double check val what size RPC. Yeah. I mean they're still expensive and they got to pay for it. had to pay to have put in and then they have to have tested once a year and pass the test and they have to turn in the test sheet to us to keep the file. Yeah. And they have to pay for that, too. So, this isn't going to go over real well. Just saying. But I got it down to like 13 places that we need to go possibly look at.
You know, the car washes and funeral homes. I don't know if they do any of the body preps here in town. I don't know if Shelby and Keller does or not, but I know Sunset doesn't. I don't I don't know if they do or not. [cough] Make sure they have one. This is I mean, you know, the county county market, the dentist office, sewing factory, maybe because of the sprinkler system, schools, they may already have them up there. I don't know. I don't know if they've got them or not. Yes, they do. Yeah, the school has two, right? because they they have so they can shut one off while they have one if I remember right tested. Yeah.
Yeah. And the elementary school has I mean we have to check and get and they're going to have to test them and get reports back to us. Uh splash pad. Did we have one on up there? Yeah. Double check. Yeah. Double check. Double check. And then the the the I check it every year. Give me some paperwork on it. [laughter] I will [clears throat] uh uh Marathon Health and Two Roads Wellness. Anybody any place that does a little bit of any kind of procedures at all like IVs or blood work has to have one. Why? Because it says so in the law. I don't I don't know. That's ridiculous. And simply you met a spa and
you're not going to have an IV hooked up through the water. I'm going to talk to them about it again to clarify to make sure. Yeah. But what we got to do, we're gonna have to make notifications of these places that we have to. Yeah. And we'll probably have to write them a letter maybe and send them a copy of the IC the Yeah. public water supply. Yeah. State statutes and then a letter saying what they need to be done. I mean, but we're going to have to I'm going to have to report back to IDM in a week or so that we're getting this done. So, yeah. So, we need to get a letter together and Sure. get that going so I can say that. on our bring it in tomorrow. We'll put it on our letter head.
Okay. I don't have a letter yet. I mean, I got I've got the statutes here. Yeah. No, we'll we'll send them the statute. [clears throat] We'll write a Somebody's better at writing letters. We'll write a letter on our letter. Yeah. Please do one sentence. We need [laughter] to do this. [cough and clears throat] Anyway, so I wants me to answer them in like 15 days or whatever on all this stuff. I got most of it done. I mean, yeah, we've got some of this done. So, I just This is the big one. This back. It's been on the books since [clears throat] 1970s, maybe. You know, I mean, you remember it? Well, I remember when I was working for the town of Kingman, right? We dealt with that with the businesses in Kingman. So,
I never bothered to follow up doing anything and now they're doing it pretty hard. So, here we are. Anyway, um I think that's all I have. Uh, yep. I'm good. But I'll check back. Okay. And see if my item says about a couple of these places. I'm not sure of some car washes. I get that needs home that they do the body prep for thingy. Yeah.
Schools just think schools come in because the labs and stuff, but I don't know the way I figured I just wanted to let you know that we need to be doing this like soon. Okay. Or we will be in violation. Yeah. We don't want that. We don't want that. No. No. We just get another letter. Yeah. We don't another nasty grand. Thanks, Greg. Darth [clears throat] and Bart. So, we got some uh information for you. Uh reached out to a little bit to you. Yeah,
been talking to you guys reference uh getting a tanker. Um purchasing another tanker. Uh we've been talking off on about it and I think we've come across one. Bart's handing out this demographics of one that we have found. Um Bart has been working pretty hard on this. [clears throat] Um, and he came across uh this this 2007 International Crrag Tanker. The company that's selling it, it's called Brinley Mountain Apparatus. They're out of Huntsville, Alabama. They're a broker. Uh, they buy and purchase tankers and then sell them,
but they also help uh companies like fire department sell if they need to or buy apparatuses. Um, this one that we're looking at is out of New Jersey. It's a volunteer fire department out of New Jersey. Um, when you, as you can tell, what this the the demographics of it. The one good thing is it is under 10 foot tall. So, will fit in our station. As you know, we've talked about on and off. Uh, we've looked at different apparatuses. Most of them are 10 foot 6, 10 foot 8. They will not fit in our fire station because our doors are 10 foot. Um, you obviously, you know, I know some concerns are coming. You look at the age of this vehicle. It's a 2007. Uh, unfortunately, we have found what we've been finding is you get into like 17, 18, 19, 15, 2015. You're looking at about double the price of what they want for this.
How much is this one? 279. 279. Yeah. That's about what it is. It's going about 15y old chassis. Because of the condition it's in. It's in very good condition. I have videos of of it. I can show it to you. It's a It's been well taken care of. Well taken care of. Why are they getting rid of it? You think? I think they're just upgrading. I think they're They're out of New Jersey and they have money. Yeah. So, a lot of seriously a lot of the East Coast departments Yeah. They get new apparatus a lot
and and that's where a lot of these trucks are from out east that we we find that are in good shape but are usually too big. And we had one last year I think late last year was it 2018 was 44 450 $450,000 same truck same exact schematics. So you you know you want you want to cut the years down. You're going to be paying 450 450 to $500,000 for a used vehicle. And how how um what year is ours? Right now it's a 96. The one we want to replace. What about our newest one? It's 2006. Okay. [clears throat]
And it's they're both 2,000gallon tankers. We're going to a 3,000galon tanker is what we're looking at here. Um, we've looked at multiple different ones and like I said, you get down into the 2007, eight or nine, you're going to be in the 250 to 300,000. You get into the 2015 and above, you're pushing 400 or more. And then a brand new one, you're looking three years out and you're pushing six, you're pushing more, 600, 650. Much is already bunch of that engine. Yeah. And right now it's because of the demand. Yeah.
That's the problem. And the timeline people, you know, are uh, you know, have been are on backlog so much trying to buy new ones. Mhm. So, um, that's why they're so high demand. So, that's why they're so expensive. I definitely want to go out and look at it before. So, we got video. Uh yeah, I might want to go out and inspect it and look at it.
So, one of the things you can do, um I I would agree with that, but you're looking that's a lot of time out going out there. You send two or three people out there. That's a lot of time for like one of us to go. It's kind of why we did the video side of it. They will deliver it to us. There's [clears throat] a 7-day money back guarantee on it. So if it comes here, we actually don't want it, don't like it, they'll come back and pick it up and they refund our money and that will be all in the sales agreement. So I mean before we sign it would all be in a sales agreement, you [cough and clears throat] know, and obviously attorney would look at it, you guys would look at it when need to be paid for.
Uh this would not be delivered until third quarter of this year. So it wouldn't be till October, November before we would see it. But what we have to do right now is is if we are 279 is negotiable. That doesn't that's not a deadlock price. Mhm. Okay. So I'm looking at negotiable negotiating a little bit with that. My my mind is it's going to be less amount of that as long as they go as long as they say okay with that. Um we just what we have to have is a commitment from the the city. Uh Troy Township is putting forth $100,000 towards it. Mhm.
So we do have $100,000 coming from Troy Township for a new apparatus. What about um we have not approached them. Um the last time we approached it, we did not have very good luck. Um there was a little possibly a little bit of bad blood there that happened many many years ago and I don't know that there'll be any money coming but we can always ask that question but we never approach them on that.
How much should we pay for the house? What the fire up the tanker? What did we pay? What60 was 165, wasn't it? Cuz we did it. bought it new. Yeah, but we bought that through that program you were doing through the city. You remember, right? [clears throat] We did where they did bids. It was a bid thing. 164 165 online bid. Yeah. Yeah. But that was back in 2006. That was a heck of a buy. Yeah, it was [laughter] 20 years ago. A 2000gallon tanker. That one we bought. [snorts]
So I bet a new 2000 gallon tank is 200,000 more than that. So what we're looking at is is you know questions from you guys first of all.
So I'll add that this truck is so like we said it's not available till the third quarter because they're having a new truck built. So, they're projecting that to be the third quarter before they receive it. This truck is still in service. So, I mean, um, here after the meeting, I'll I'll brought the video of it. They took a video of it, showed it. Um, I mean, it looks very very well taken care of. You know this a lot of times when you get into it and you look at the the seats inside
and the first thing you look at is what t how well are they worn out. These seats look very well taken care of, you know, well managed. Um so kind of tells me they take well they take very good care of it. Obviously they can have a detailer come in and detail them. We all know that, you know, but it's how many hours does ours have and how much what's the mileage on ours? I can't tell you off the top of my head. I would have to look and see. I don't know which one. The one we're wanting to trade or the new 2006 the I'll have to look and see. The newest one. [snorts] I have to look and see. I couldn't tell you off the top of my head.
But what we want to do is replace what our goal is. We want to replace the 96. Yeah. And what do you have in mind to do with it? I want to sell it. Okay. How much do you think we can get for it? Again, we So, there's different there's different fire sales sites out there. [clears throat] They can appraise stuff, help you sell something. We have one of them and give us a price on it. I honestly can't tell off top my head. I mean, yeah. I don't know. I don't I can't tell you. It would be nice to get 25 30,000 out, but I don't know. I just that's just off top of my head.
What's the gallon per minute pump on it? Yeah. 96. It's a It's not got a pump on. It's a U like a transfer transfer pump is all it is. So, okay. Where this one has a 5 500 gpm pump on it. Yeah, that's pretty good. Yeah. questions, concerns, comments. [clears throat]
They're asking 279,000 for it. If Troy Township pays a thousand 100,000 and then if you sell the 1996 say 30,000 and there's possibility that Mount Mound Township contributes it's not going to cost the city a whole lot potentially. Yes. And depending on what price we negotiate that'll play a lot into it also. I mean it doesn't necessarily we're locked at 279. Yeah. I mean,
what is the cost for because like coming from the water well industry, we had a water truck and so what would the cost be to just purchase a chassis and then put the water tank and all the other things on top of it? Like how what would the cost difference or something like that be? Or would that even be an option? I mean, that's what the 96 basically is is it's a it's just a tank with a transfer pump on it. Um, and it was built pretty much build shock out of Del I built it, you know, but the side compartments and all that on it. Um, I can't tell you what it cost then. It was 50 or 60,000, I don't know, back then in 96. Um, I I can't tell you right off what cost. Uh I think the one of the added things with this would be this can help with your ISO rating having those you know [clears throat] one of the things that you know having the engines and the tankers and that that have that on that one it makes it more versatile [cough and clears throat] two it helps with ISO because in some areas you got to have so many gallons per minute
and being able to have that and show that you have those helps a lot with ISO. So right now we can't count the tank the 56 or 52 that we're replacing because the pump the pump on is not big enough. Where with this one you put with a 500 gpm you can add that into that and some areas you're looking I think there were some areas we're upwards of 3,000 gpm that we need. And with the two engines and the tanker now 56, we're we're pretty close. This would just be an added feature to that. Okay.
So, I mean, I told Bart, I said, I I see the puzzle in the eyes and the 2007. It's got you guys puzzling. But you got to look at the what you got to look at is is how much money are you guys wanting to put forth to this? If you want us to go for a newer one, then we could start looking at it, but you're going to look at the 4 to $450,000. Now, there's thing what we're looking is is number one, we need to negotiate a price. That's the first thing I want to do. Second thing is I have to present that to my guys tonight. Third thing is is I want to see a maintenance log on this truck from them. You know, all those things. And if those all fall in place and we get a good negotiable price, I I want to move forward with it. But I don't What are your guys' commitment for this? Well, my my thought is 20 year it's, you know, [cough] [clears throat] be 20 years old,
right? So then we've got two 20 year old trucks, right? And then in a year or 10 years, we're going to have a 30y old truck and we're going to have to replace it. One thing you can keep in mind is with that is is we can remount, we can rechass that truck. So you buy this truck and five years down the road you could reass it. That's the that's kind of the the options you have. So in turn you're buying it. Yes, it'll be 20 years old, but five years down the road we could reass. And you've already got that
the the bulk of it that you're not going to have to pay. Now you have it written out of a truck that you can rechass. You'd have to be very careful because of your height requirement and rechassing it because you'd have to have the same size GVW. Well, I think you're right and I think [clears throat] otherwise you may have a problem with Yeah, you will. But I think I think the mayor and I talking I think down the future we're looking at trying to find a new station. Be nice to have a new station. And so I I think in that 5 to 10 year mark when we get to [clears throat] that point I hopefully we would have a plan for a new station which will be higher door. You are correct. Absolutely 100% correct. That is that is a risk that you face.
So we understand the concern too but also you know talking about the trucks. Our second engine 26 years old. I know that's going to be the next truck that's going to have to be replaced. I know. and our squad, you know, it it's 24 years old. All of our charts are old. Yeah. Brand the brand new engine right now. That engine that we just bought right now, I just found out was going to get us like 900,000 now. Praise the Lord. We bought it when we done, right? I just Somebody told me the other day that they just priced one out 900,000. It's crazy. Same engine. [snorts] Can Can you look and see if you can find a newer one? What? bought a newer tanker. Yeah,
we have that's We had one last year. It was a 2017, wasn't it? Was $450,000. So, over $200,000 more than this truck. Mhm. And those go fast. I mean, you guys would you would have to act like act like yesterday. I mean, it's that fast. I mean, that truck was on the market and I think within 10 days it was gone. Yeah. I said every time we find something that that's halfway closed, you know, they they sell three times. I think a lot of this truck is cuz it's they haven't got their new one yet. And a lot of these departments are needing something now. I mean, we're pretty fortunate. We don't need it yet, but
we're going to, you know, we want to be prepared. Yeah. I know the the age is scaring a lot of people, but if you look at the mileage and the engine hours, that's not excessive. Yeah, if you divide that out over 18 years, it's only 1,500, 1,500 miles a year. Yeah, that's not bad. It really I mean our average on our car is about 14,000 miles a year. The average I can give you the I'll give ours [clears throat]
where I need to know is is how committed are we at looking at this from you guys? Do I just tell this individ I need to know to tell him we are very interested in it. We're not interested in it from your perspective. Like I said, if you're not interested and you want something newer, we can look for newer. Just be prepared for your cost. Bear hold on your seats.
No, I I know how much I know how expensive [laughter] heavy is. I I don't I'm just as much upset as you guys with it. I don't agree with it, but it's at I I I can't control. It's just like a brand new like a brand new ambulance right now. $450,000 for a brand new ambulance. Is that all? Yeah. Now, now Yeah. So, it's just, you know, Yes. 2007 20 years old in a year. What do you guys think? Why don't you go ahead and tell them, you know, see what see what maybe they would take,
but look for a new one, too. A newer one, too. Okay. or buy one, you know, 10 years new [clears throat] if it would save us from having to buy one for, you know, just keep in mind that you're looking at you're going to have city's going to have to come up with about $300,000 versus 100,000. You do [clears throat] save chassis thing potentially a lot newer. Well, the the other thing you run into is the newer ones are taller, so they're sometimes harder to get in the truck there, too. That's another thing we've run into. Also, sorry, I'm not being a Debbie Downer here. I'm just being realistic.
He's he's been very instrumental. I put him on it last year. He's been looking for over a year. We've found a lot of trucks. The hype [snorts] is getting us, the cost is getting us, the availability is getting us. Mhm. You know, no more than we could call, they're gone. Yeah. And so, uh, we're we've come across this one. Um, [cough] we feel this is our the best fit for us at this time. Yes, it's a 20-y old truck, but if you look at the maintenance has been on on it, I'm sure it's done been very well. I I That's the key right there. maintenance done well on. That's how everybody wants to do.
Well, what what do you need from us just to like I guess your blessing to move as long as everything falls in place that you're committed that you would want to purchase. As long as some of this stuff falls in place. Well, and do we have the funds to make up for the difference that I guess what I'm looking at is well, we have we have some of them. We probably would borrow end up borrowing some like we have in the past for some well I think you know I think the tanker we paid it off over you know a few years yeah I think we did I don't remember how we did that just put money in the budget
and uh you know each year for I think what we could do is if you're committed to go forward with this I can tell you have a strong interest in it but there are certain things we're looking for notable price maintenance, but we could wait till the what August 6th meeting and if everything falls in place, then you can make your final decision at that point. Yes or no? And and if if none of that falls in place, then it's back to square. We need to be able to secure it. Commitment from you guys that you are willing to move forward with it. He really didn't say anything financially.
Well, thanks Dr. for the information that you just said, the maintenance records and all the other things. I'm good with that. [cough and clears throat] If you give me that much, then I can tell that we're committed to that point and then we can start negotiating. Like I said, the rice, look at the maintenance stuff. I mean, Brad, I'll once I get all that stuff to you, I'll bring it to you so you can see it. If anybody else wants to see it, that's fine. But that's kind of where we're at right now. Talk about some sort of security deposit. That's what I was asking. He really didn't mention that. We kind of brought that up a little bit.
I think it was just more saying we've got a commitment so they can more or less kind of hold the church right now. The church's really not being [clears throat] held. So I mean, but now we're interested kind of don't have a commitment. pretty months out. So, try and nail them down on what they what we actually [cough] buy it for. That's my plan. Okay. My plan is and then the other thing is is it's going to be present to my guys tonight. If we're dead set against it, then there's no need I'm not going to move forward with it. Okay. Any That's kind of what I just I want to bring to you guys. And let us know that, too.
Well, I mean, I'll keep looking, too. Yeah. Yeah, that's they're hard to come. Yeah, [laughter] the newer ones. Yeah, very hard. We've got the the new engine paid for. So, you know, now, you know, maybe in a little better situation.
Yeah. And like I said, as we said, I said is our our our fleet is getting older and older. I mean, we're doing the maintenance on it, but we're going to have to start replacing. Squad's going to need to be replaced. The engine, second engine's going to need to be replaced. So, and unfortunately, what's hurting us more than anything is the hard water is really tearing up our fittings, tearing a lot of stuff up. So I know we're working on just saying is it's it's hurts us. Not much we can do about that. Biggest thing what we're doing now and I know you don't don't like to hear this but a lot of times what we're doing is we're dumping the water out tankers and refilling and that helps get that cleaned out.
Yeah. But it helps. We started doing a little bit last year and it helps a little bit more than what you think. Yeah. So, we don't do it in winter time because we don't create an ice ring, but we we try to do it in the summertime. So, just Okay. Okay. Any other questions? Nope. I don't. Anybody? Thank you. Just let us know. Appreciate you. Girls, you got anything? Okay. Me?
