I'm finished with no business. I'll give you a quick update on the health department. One thing that's left at the health department is the drive-through canopy on the backside of the building that has been, it's, through there it's gone through engineering as far as I know they're in the supposed to have it done and have it ready for them before the end of September for the state to be able to pay for it so every change is gonna have to be done and paid for before the end of September's way I understand it from Josh Gibson so I feel confident that's going to be going on pretty soon, and it should be the final on that. They got some pungent items that both Curl and Boyce and Ballard are taking care of, so we're staying on those two. Animal shelter update. We are going to be, of course, everybody knows it's complete. It's We got a few items we're gonna be meeting with our attorney this afternoon on it, and after that we should be able to have that pretty close to being put to bed and get their final documentation on that. New business, and we'll go ahead and turn it over to Rick.

First thing I got is the update on the Justice Center. So we did have a little bit of issue two days ago when a big storm came through. One of the drains on the roof was not tied in correctly, so we had slight water damage inside. Of course, the roofing company accepted all responsibility for everything, so they've been They brought in a company to do the remediation part of it. On Monday, they feel like they'll be dry enough to be able to put all the ceiling tile back in and remove all the equipment that's in there as far as the blowers, dryers, humidifiers, and all that. So we're hoping by Monday they'll be able to remove all that.

Did they get that parapet wall covered?

So that wasn't the issue. That wasn't the big issue. They ended up doing some more investigating. So on that roof, there's drains because it's flat. I guess when they were getting out the gravel and everything and taking the covers off the drain, apparently one of them was not put back together properly. And so all the rain that we got drained inside instead of through the drain. As far as the roof itself, about 30% completed. The big roof on the top is the one that they started on, and it's just about done. They still got some touch-up work to do here and there, but as far as the overall roof, it's about 30% right now is where we're sitting. We're hoping to get – we've got a little bit of dry weather coming up. We're hoping to really get a lot more done moving forward. We've had a lot of wet days that they haven't been able to work because of that. So we're hoping that as far as the – still on schedule, they feel like, but they feel like the dry weather will definitely help maybe get us in a better position. And then John's office, we started it about 70% done with it. We're just waiting on the custom countertops to be cut and then installed. Got all the electric done and moved all the internet. computer wires, all that's done. We're just waiting on the countertops.

This is the part we approved last. Correct.

There's a little L-shaped entrance plate. So we're just waiting on that. Hopefully, I hope to have that done in the next couple weeks. They're supposed to come with the countertops hopefully next week or the week after. We should be able to be finished pretty quick on that one. And then the only thing I have is I got some pictures here. This is from the ambulance station in Manchester. This is their front parking lot. I don't know if you guys remember last year, 2025 budget. They asked for a new parking lot. It got turned down for capital projects just because of all the roof projects we had going on.

We did not turn that down in here.

It didn't get approved with capital projects, that's all I know. Oh. There was several capital projects that we didn't approve because of all of the roof projects, but this was just one of them.

I don't even need to look at that. I know that job.

At the time, which I'm sure it's probably a lot more now, it was about $90,000 is what the lowest quote came in at.

You already hit bid?

No, I'm saying we just got... This was... Last, early last, this would have been March or April of 2024 is when I got quotes. Yeah. So for the upcoming 2025 budget is when the last time we got quoted. So I'm sure it'll be much higher now.

It will be because of petroleum.

Yeah. So just something to, I know that they're getting ready to go to the ambulance authority and talk to them about it. So I just wanted to make you guys aware that they are complaining about the parking lot. Last year, I had it filled with crush and run, the worst part. It lasted about... up until about a week or two ago they asked me to do it again so i'll be doing it again this week on the very end of the gravel driveway where it's the worst where the ambulance pulls out of because they're a little they're worried about it tipping the big holes yeah so uh big holes yeah so uh other than that that's that's all i have if there's any questions about anything

Okay, so I'll make sure we address it again on our next meeting because we don't need to let that slide because it's tearing up our ambulance right now. I know what it's doing. Me and you discussed this back a year and a half ago, two years?

Well, it was, like I said, we started looking into it in March and April of 2024 is when we started looking into what it was going to take, and they talked about having to cut up the – the asphalt that's there now, we wouldn't be able to recover it because it's in such bad shape. It needs to come out. And we'd be putting a new four inches of asphalt on top of it.

Okay. It's because it's alligator. I don't know if anybody knows what alligator is. And asphalt, it means it's, all it is is a bunch of chunks laying everywhere. It's just gone. It's totally apart right now. So they need it fixed. All right, anything else? That's all I have. Okay. Let's go on to 7B. Brad Meadows is here to talk to us real quick.

Hey, my name is Brad Meadows. I'm a lifelong Coffey County resident. I just started a gravestone cleaning company a few months ago. Nobody's doing it. There seems to be a lot of demand for it, and I'm just honored that the mayor would think of me to invite me here to tell you guys about it. Kind of get the word spread. The main thing was I wanted to check all my boxes and make sure that it was okay with everyone that I clean B.J. Schaaf's bust up on the square. Corporal Brian James Schaaf, he's been gone for almost 20 years. This year, I believe November this year was 20 years. I spoke with his mother. She's all on board. She's all for it. Operation Never Forget, she has spoke with them. They're all for it. And just wanted you guys to be a part of it. And that's really all I got. And I didn't get to give you a card or the gentleman down by Frank a card. And the new gentleman on the card. If you would pass him one, please.

I guess we probably ought to just go ahead and make a motion because he made the time to come in. I just seem to go ahead and make it official.

So I'd love for everyone to be a part of that and come out for that when I get a day set for that, if possible.
