City Council - Regular Meeting

Now back in regular session after after spending time with under attorney client privilege, we are now ready for under new business. Item B, consideration of discussion regarding the Ajax Turner Senior Center. It does require a 3/4 majority of the council, which is nine votes. I'll entertain a motion.

Motion. Motion been made. Do I hear a second? Second. And properly seconded. That is not debatable, so we will be voting on considering discussion regarding the Ajax Turner Senior Citizens Center. Whenever the clerk is ready, all members please cast your vote. Every member voted. Any member wish to change their vote? Madam Clerk, please take the vote. Seven yes, five no, zero abstain.

Lacks 3/4 majority, it fails. We are now ready for mayor and council member comments. Any member have a comment? Councilman Haywood, you're recognized. Yeah, I just wanted to remind the public that this Saturday will be the first Ward 8 clean-up day. We'll meet at Pisgah Elementary School at 8:00 a.m. And I'm very excited for that, so thank you. Thank you. Any more comment or question? To Ardy Grassman, who is one of our sign language interpreters, her brother Edmund Terrell passed away recently. Edmund was a pillar of this community and he will be sorely missed and we express our condolences to the Terrell family. That completes our business. I'll entertain a motion to adjourn. So moved.
